Teenage sensation Francesco Camarda is currently nursing a shoulder injury, and now rumours have begun to spread that Milan could seek to terminate his loan agreement with Lecce. Here is what to make of the recall rumours and the latest news on the 17-year-old’s fitness.

What’s going on with Camarda, Lecce and Milan?

The 17-year-old, who netted a ridiculous 485 goals from 89 appearances for Milan’s youth teams, joined Lecce on loan with an option to buy in a deal that includes a low-cost buy-back option in favour of the Rossoneri.

Reports over the summer claimed that Lecce would have an option to buy for around €3m and that Milan would be able to bring the youngster back for €4m.

He has since gone on to net once in Serie A, in a 2-2 draw with Bologna, and has made a total of 17 Serie A appearances so far this campaign.

Camarda has missed the last two matches with a shoulder injury. Milan were reportedly concerned that the teenager would miss a significant chunk of the rest of the Serie A season as a result.

There have been reports from Nicolo Schira that Milan will terminate Camarda’s loan deal and bring him back home from Lecce in order to boost Massimiliano Allegri’s attacking options for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

The latest updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Camarda is currently back in Milan for in-depth medical checks and that he will likely require surgery. There is a possibility that Camarda decides against having an immediate operation, but this would only be delaying the inevitable, potentially until the summer.

It is now up to Milan and Lecce to come to an agreement over the next steps.

If Camarda were to have surgery on his shoulder, it is feasible that he will return to action in April, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, if he were to return to his parent club, he would most likely feature with the Milan Futuro side rather than the first-team in order to work on his fitness.
