Why Lamine Yamal’s Dad Was Kicked Out of the Stands During Betis vs Barcelona
The reason Lamine Yamal’s father was kicked out of the stadium during Barcelona’s dramatic 5-3 win over Real Betis on Saturday evening has been revealed as new footage emerges. The Catalan giants extended their lead at the top of the La Liga table to four points, with their teenage sensation netting a penalty just before the hour mark.
It was Ferran Torres who drew most of the praise, however, with his hat-trick the main reason Betis were never able to gain a foothold in the match. Pedri chipped in with two assists, Jules Kounde added another, and Roony Bardghji contributed a goal and an assist from attacking midfield.
Needless to say, drama and entertainment weren’t in short supply at the Villamarin Stadium. But it wasn’t limited to the pitch, as footage of Yamal’s father being escorted out before he could witness two more goals has gone viral – with the reasons for his dismissal now being revealed.
Lamine Yamal’s Father Escorted Out of Villamarin Stadium
Excitement around Lionel Messi’s natural heir has reached fever pitch over the last 18 months or so, and it’s clear his father is sometimes unable to keep a lid on his emotions. While watching from the hospitality section of Real Betis’ stadium, Mounir Nasraoui was reportedly provoking Betis fans with his behaviour, comments and gestures.
He was eventually removed from the stadium after continuing to show he couldn’t control his passion, and footage of him being ushered through the concourse appears to show one of his companions turning back to confront a guard in some unsavoury scenes. Watch the incident below:
The match was 5-1 at the time of his removal, with Betis scoring twice in the final five minutes to threaten a late comeback but to no avail in the end. And so, on this occasion, Yamal senior had his blushes somewhat spared.
Barcelona Tighten La Liga Grip
La Blaugrana kept both Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha on the bench for the entirety of their trip to fifth-placed Real Betis. The fact they were still able to score five times and put the game to bed relatively early speaks volumes about Hansi Flick’s strength in depth, and their four-point lead over the rest of Spain suggests they may have even improved since last season’s domestic treble.
A 3-0 loss at Chelsea is their only hiccup in their last eight matches, though it came in a competition they are desperate to win above all others – especially after last season’s defeat to Inter Milan cost them a place in the Champions League final.
