Kenan Yildiz has begged the Juventus supporters to stick with the team following their disappointing 2-1 defeat away against reigning Serie A champions Napoli on Sunday evening.

A goal from the Bianconeri gem was not enough for Luciano Spalletti to claim a victory against his former club, who walked away with all three points thanks to a brace from centre-forward Rasmus Hojlund.

This result means that the Old Lady have only won two of their five Serie A matches since Spalletti took over at the end of October, which came against Cremonese and Cagliari. They were held to draws by Fiorentina and Torino and have now lost in Spalletti’s first ‘big test’ in the league.

Responding to his side’s performance on Instagram on Monday, Yildiz described this as a period in which the team must ‘work hard to get better’.

“We couldn’t get the result we wanted yesterday, but we are working hard to get better,” the 20-year-old wrote. “During the process we need your support and we thank you for that.”

Despite the fact that Juventus currently find themselves in seventh place in the Serie A standings, this has been an increasingly impressive individual campaign from Yildiz, who is now up to five league goals for the season plus another in the Champions League. He also has a further five assists to his name across all competitions this term.
