Memes on the image-hosting service Imgur “containing references to adult humor” will no longer be considered mature, the company announced in a post addressing changes to its content moderation policies.
The changes announced this week could mean that you see spicier memes on the platform more easily. Under the previous rules, memes that were tagged as mature may not have been seen as often because users have to opt in to see mature content on Imgur.
Imgur is making the changes after it collected feedback about its content moderation over the course of this year, including that its policies, “especially surrounding mature content, feel inconsistently applied, too subjective, or just rather confusing as a whole,” according to a post from Imgur product manager Martyn O’Neill. Now, mature content consists “solely of sexualised or ‘lewd’” content.
Following the adjustments, O’Neill says that “warnings / post removals” are down nearly 35 percent month over month. Far fewer posts are being marked as mature as well; that stat has declined by almost 50 percent.
Valve is now explicitly disclosing that you don’t own the games you buy from its Steam online store. The company has added a note on the payment checkout screen stating that “a purchase of a digital product grants a license for the product on Steam,” as reported earlier by Engadget.
We confirmed the message appears in the Steam desktop app, but we haven’t seen it in the mobile app yet. Some Steam users noticed the disclosure go live earlier this week and posted their findings on Reddit.

There’s speculation Valve went live with the new message to get ahead of the law. The law states digital storefronts must not say you can “buy” or “purchase” something unless that something is a license, and it must link to the terms and conditions of the license — which Valve already seems to have covered.

Intel is already working on support for its Xe3 GPU architecture in Linux – even though Xe3, codenamed Celestial, won’t be used in any chips until late in 2025 (at the earliest)
Indeed, Battlemage, Intel’s 2nd-gen Arc graphics, is only just here (in Lunar Lake laptops as the integrated GPU), so it’s very early days for 3rd-gen Celestial.
However, as Phoronix reports, Intel engineers are currently laying the groundwork for enabling Xe3 in the Linux kernel.
Thus far, we don’t know anything about how Xe3 – which will first be used as the integrated graphics in next year’s Panther Lake processors, the successor to Lunar Lake on the laptop side of the PC fence – will improve on its predecessor.

The Linux driver code might eventually give us a clue, but it doesn’t yet. It builds on the existing Xe2 code, and focuses on Xe3 LPM (low-power mode).
What about discrete Celestial?
While this is Xe3 for laptops, the prospect of discrete graphics cards built on Celestial seems far more distant. After all, as we’ve already noted, Battlemage discrete GPUs haven’t even arrived yet, just the implementation of integrated graphics for Intel’s Lunar Lake mobile chips. It may be a while yet before we see standalone Battlemage graphics cards for desktop PCs, but hopefully these might turn up relatively early in 2025, with any luck.

No Way Out features one of Yellowstone star Kevin Costner’s peak movie star roles. Ittells the story of a young navy officer who begins an affair and discovers that the secretary of defense is also involved with the same woman. When she winds up dead, he’s put in charge of the murder investigation before he eventually becomes a suspect himself.
While it’s not a perfect movie, No Way Out is nonetheless a joy to watch, in part because it features actors like Gene Hackman and Costner himself chewing up the scenery. Above all else, No Way Out is immensely satisfying, which is exactly what you want this kind of movie to be.
One of the most slept-on horror movies of the past 10 years, Doctor Sleep is a sequel to The Shiningthat manages to honor both Stanley Kubrick’s original movie and the Stephen King novel it’s based on. The film follows the first film’s Danny, who is now an adult and trying to ignore the trauma of his past.
After he forms a psychic connection with a young girl, though, the two of them must work together to take down an ancient enemy with similar powers. Director Mike Flanagan gets plenty of chills out of this premise, and Ewan McGregor and especially Rebecca Ferguson are excellent in roles that demand a lot of each of them.

A confrontational, episodic story, Her Smell follows a rock star named Becky Something over five distinct chapters in her life. First, we see her in the midst of her band’s success as she proves to be volatile and a danger to her mother. Over the course of the film, we see her fly off the deep end, go through rehab, and ultimately emerge on the other side a more balanced, stable person.
Featuring a tour de force performance from Elisabeth Moss and some virtuoso direction from Alex Ross Perry, Her Smell is riveting and confrontational. It’s not an easy watch, but it’s undeniably excellent.

Meanwhile, the company seems optimistic about the sales expectations of its upcoming flagship mobile devices. Samsung seems to have particular faith in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, projecting that it will account for half of the series’ sales.
Every year, Galaxy S flagships are among the best-selling mobile devices. The popularity of the Galaxy S and Galaxy A sustains Samsung’s position as the leading brand in the smartphone market. Samsung expects the Galaxy S25 Ultra to account for half of the sales in the lineup
South Korean media reports healthy sales expectations for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. According to estimates based on component orders, Samsung expects to ship about 22 million units of the Galaxy S25 lineup by the first half of 2025. Of those, 11 million units would be the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the most premium and expensive model. The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ would account for 6 million and 5 million units, respectively.
The strategy of launching Ultra models has paid off for the company. Galaxy S fans have made these devices the most popular and valuable. They also offer higher profit margins to Samsung. The upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature an even larger display, reaching 6.9 inches. This puts it on par with the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of screen size. On the other hand, the base Galaxy S25 will remain a compact model, while the S25+ will be an intermediate variant with a bigger screen and battery than the vanilla one.

Samsung could discard the base Galaxy S26
Recent reports suggest that Samsung will be shaking up its launch policy for the Galaxy S series. The brand could ditch the base Galaxy S26 in 2026, although this will likely depend on the popularity of its equivalent model in the Galaxy S25 lineup. Samsung has already launched the Galaxy Tab S10 series without a base model, offering only Plus and Ultra models.
