Netflix has finally unveiled a bunch of first-look images of its next big-budget sci-fi movie The Electric State – and, based on initial online reactions, nobody’s quite sure what to make of it.

The official screenshots (see below) offer a first glimpse at Joe and the next expensively-assembled Netflix sci-fi buddy comedy film from Joe and Anthony Russo, aka the Russo brothers. The directing duo, who are best known for their work on numerous Marvel movies, have assembled a starry cast for The Electric State, with Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt installed as co-leads.

Two OnePlus 13 specs have leaked, and they sound impressive

Two OnePlus 13 specs have leaked, and they sound impressive

The OnePlus 12 is considered one of the best smartphones available today, so there is much anticipation for its upcoming successor, the OnePlus 13. This week, two critical leaks about the new handset were potentially revealed.

First, OnePlus China head Louis Jie took to Weibo to mention that OnePlus has nearly completed the outdoor lighting test of the BOE X2 display. Created in collaboration with BOE, the quad micro-curved display looks flat but offers slight curvatures for comfort.

Back in July, it looked like the OnePlus 13 would have a flat display like the OnePlus 12. The latest news suggests this isn’t necessarily true. In his post, Jie released an image showing a sample of the display with a camera hole centered at the top and with curves on all sides. It is assumed that this will be the display found on the OnePlus 13, as the OnePlus 12 offered a BOE X1 display.

In another important leak, tipster Yogesh Brar said the OnePlus 13 will have a 6,000mAh battery. If true, this would be 600mAh more than the OnePlus 12 and about 1000mAh more than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Brar also noted that the OnePlus 13 would feature 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The wired charging information was previously leaked during regulatory filings for the OnePlus 13 last month. The wireless charging number is new and matches the wireless charging performance found on the OnePlus 12, which uses the AirVOOC standard.

The OnePlus 13 is anticipated to feature a 6.82-inch display with a 2K resolution. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, making it the first smartphone to use this chip. This is ahead of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 lineup, which is also expected to utilize the same chip.

We anticipate the OnePlus 13’s release in December or January. However, it could be revealed as early as this month.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Style:NEMAThe SmartRack 42U NEMA 12 (IP54) Standard-Depth Rack Enclosure Cabinet protects sensitive electronic equipment from harsh conditions that would overwhelm a typical rack enclosure, including falling dirt, dust, drips and splashes. It is ideal for use in factories, construction areas, utility plants, warehouses and other areas high in moisture, dust and debris. The enclosure has a NEMA 12 protection rating, which is equivalent to IP54. That means it can protect your equipment from falling dirt, dust, drips, splashes and accidental contact with personnel. The front and rear doors have ventilating louvers instead of open mesh. They also have a sealing gasket around the door frames. On the front door there are built-in dust filters. The filters are removable and they can be replaced with standard furnace filters – they’re simple, inexpensive and effective. To compensate for the added air resistance of the filters, there are 12 large, high performance fans to the rear door. The fans pull air through the enclosure, from front to rear. The roof of the enclosure is sealed with a cap that keeps drips and falling dirt from getting inside the enclosure. Since the doors and top are sealed, cable access is provided through 6 cable ports – 2 in the roof, 2 below the rear door, and 2 in the unit floor. They allow cables to pass through, but they block the area around the cables maintaining the NEMA 12 protection. The enclosure may be subjected to extreme vibrations and movements produced by vehicles and machinery. The heavy-duty steel frame supports up to 3000 pounds. The large-diameter industrial casters also support up to 3000 pounds, which means you can move the enclosure fully loaded. This is useful where you can install all your equipment in a clean environment, close the enclosure and wheel it to the dirty environment with all your equipment already protected. After the enclosure is in place, the levelers allow you to compensate for minor floor variations and make sure everything is stable. If you need to build a data center in the middle of your factory floor, you can do it with this enclosure. It’s perfect for locations like factories, power stations, construction areas, shipping facilities, warehouses, processing plants, transport hubs and anywhere you need to protect equipment in a harsh working environment.
2-year limited warranty. Louvered Doors with Sealing Gaskets: Keep out drips, splashing water and falling debris. Self-Sealing Cable Ports: Permit cable access while maintaining dust and moisture resistance. Heavy-duty, torsion-resistant construction withstands jolts and vibrations in harsh working environments. NEMA 12 (IP54) Protection Rating: Sealed, locking cabinet protects against dust, dirt, drips and splashes.
iPhone users are facing a sudden drop in battery life after iOS 18 update
iPhone users are facing a sudden drop in battery life after iOS 18 update
Some iPhone users have reported a sudden drop in battery life after the iOS 18 update, with some experiencing a 20% to 30% reduction in battery percentage within just one hour. This level of power consumption makes it difficult for users to get through the day on a single charge. Fortunately, Apple has outlined several steps users can take to identify the cause of the battery drain and improve battery life on their iPhones.
The sudden drop in battery life could be related to the iOS 18 update
If you’ve noticed a sudden drop in your iPhone’s battery life—whether you’re using an iPhone 15 series device, like the iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any of the iPhone 16 series devices—this article is for you.
To begin with, the drop in battery life is normal for people using iOS 18 beta. Beta testers previously reported a significant drop in battery life. Alan Friedman from PhoneArena also noted that he is facing similar issues and will eventually return to the stable version of iOS 18.
While users can use their iPhones immediately after an update, certain processes run for some time after the update. “Even though you can use your iPhone immediately after an update, certain tasks related to the update continue in the background and might affect battery life and thermal performance,” notes Apple Support.
If you’re noticing a drop in battery performance after installing iOS 18, there’s no need for major concern. The situation may resolve itself over time, as sometimes battery optimization stabilizes after a few days of use.
Steps to minimize battery life drop in an iPhone
While your iPhone optimizes the battery life based on your use cases, you can follow certain steps to reduce power usage. For instance, you can enable auto brightness mode or turn on Auto-lock. Another important step is to check if an app is using your location in the background. Using Wi-Fi whenever possible should also improve the battery life as it uses less battery power than cellular networks.
Users can also extend the battery life of their iPhones by turning on Low Power Mode. It reduces the amount of power that your iPhone uses. When Low Power Mode is on, certain settings and features like Background App Refresh, and some visual effects, are reduced or disabled.
To get an overview of your battery usage, users can go to Settings > Battery and check the Activity chart and Battery Usage by App.
Ring brings 24/7 recording to some of its wired cameras
Ring is rebranding its subscription products, ditching Ring Protect in favor of Ring Home, and to celebrate it’s bringing some new features along. The most notable change is the addition of 24/7 recording if you own select wired video doorbells, ensuring you don’t miss anything if a motion alert wasn’t triggered. You’ll also get video clip previews sent through push notifications, rather than having to wait for the app to open.
In addition, users can now get Extended and Continuous Live View options for their cameras, letting them keep an eye on what’s going on when they need it. Extended Live View, for instance, will up the time limit on watching a camera from 10 minutes to 30, while Continuous removes the limit altogether. You’ll also get Doorbell Calls, which triggers a phone call that’ll connect straight to your smartphone when someone’s at the door.
The prices for each of the new Ring Home tiers will remain the same as their Ring Protect predecessors, at last for now. Home Basic is $4.99 a month, while Home Standard is $9.99/month, and Home Premium is $19.99/month. Unsurprisingly, Extended Live View and Doorbell Calls are available at the Standard tier, while the Continuous Live View and 24/7 recording are unlocked at the Premium level.
As for why the tiers were changed, it’s to enable users to bolt-on additional packages from Ring’s growing ecosystem of security products. It says that, when the change kicks in on November 5th, you’ll be able to add Virtual Security Guard and Alarm Professional Monitoring to the same plan.
