You're totally right about grade and learning.
Unfortunately Here in India there is no concept of "learning". Professors teach to finish syllabus asap, and students memorize to get grades.
So a "learner" simply doesn't get good grades in India

For me, i think it depends on the student and the professor.
Im a computer science student and i got extra credits and marks for looking for new tech stuff outside my syllabus while applying those external knowledge in projects, encouraged to join national level hackathons, and have classes about professional fields in tech.
Im just beyond grateful that i have youtubers like you to help me make those happen. I hope your message reach other students like me to pursue tech with less regretsā¤

I am now a software engineer at a foreign company (i graduated 3 months after this video came out) and im still learning from tech youtubers like James Quick and helping me find better solutions and good practices in my field.
Regardless of having a degree or not, its really up to the person on how will he/she/they will learn and apply those things on a professional level. For myself, having a degree is a key for me to educate modern web practices to college students like i was 6 months ago (mostly employment reasons lol).
