Dell PowerEdge T320 Workstation Memory Spec Overview & Upgrade Tips | How to Configure the System

Dell PowerEdge T320 “How To Guide” for proper memory installation and configuration. Learn more about Dell T320 memory options and watch our general system overview.

The Dell PowerEdge T320 is a powerhouse entry-level single-socket tower server harnessing the power of the robust Intel Xeon E5-1400 v1 / v2 or E5-2400 v1 / v2 series CPU (LGA1356 socket) . Your choice of 1 quad-core, six-core, or eight-core processor. There are six memory slots. Speeds supported include 1066MHz, 1333MHz, 1600MHz or 1866MHz. Sizes supported include 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB or 32GB. Unfortunately there are no 64GB DIMMs for the Dell T320.

Types of RAM: ECC Registered also known as RDIMMs. Load Reduced also known as LRDIMM. Both types of RAM have the same maximum capacity. 192GB. However the max speed is higher for LRDIMMs. Load reduced max memory for Dell T320 is 192GB (6 x 32GB) 1866MHz ECC LRDIMM. ECC Registered max memory for Dell T320 is 192GB (6 x 32GB) 1600MHz ECC Reg RDIMM. And the 1600MHz 32GB DDR3 ECC Reg is kind of a unicorn part so most users go with 1333MHz. Which means the big advantage to Load Reduced over ECC Registered is 1866MHz vs 1333MHz. We always recommend load reduced for 32GB DIMMs. Will discuss this and more in our video.

With the ideal blend of performance and features, the Dell PowerEdge T320 workstation comes at an affordable rate. You can empower small businesses running a single server or use as a gaming server. There are a lot of applications the T320 would be very suitable to manage.

I have deleted the raid and want to run each of the 8 3tb SAS drives individually "non raid" Also having trouble getting amd rx580 to initialize. Any tips for the disk management or adding a graphics card for plex encoding?

I used a power cord from the 8pin gpu header to the gpu. If I can't use the graphics card would you recommend the best gpu that works with this machine that will work great for vm's and plex?

Out of curiosity, have you guys tested this with LRDIMM 64gb memory? I wanted to do an upgrade but I'm getting mixed answers from different vendors (some say yes some say no with the majority being no)

You have to go to the t420 for dual cpu and double the ram slots.

You have to go to the t620 to get access to the e5-2600 v1 n 2. Also 12 x 3.5 drives and 18 ram slots

Turned my free (from the place i work at) in to a gaming computer, its the xeon E5-2420 V2 with 80 gigs of ram (over kill YEP), slapped in a EVGA 1050TI video card in it , didn't require any extra power cables, (which I see there is a option for it on the server psu board) only thing lacking was a sound card, but just bought a 7.1 usb external card. Took out the lifecycle card and used the onboard SAS controller, as i couldn't get the card to work, or it was just my lack of knowledge of a server.

I got one of these free from work. I have a really nice boss!!!! I've upgraded it with a E5 2470 v2 – 10 core, 20 thread; £35 from Aliexpress. 96GB of RAM, 4x Samsung QVO 1TB SSD, 4x WD 6TB HDD, a GTX 1080 TI and a Soundblaster RX. I've thrown a bit of money at it, but the performance is OUTSTANDING!!!. It would be hard to get similar performance for the money, even if I had bourgt a used one instead of getting lucky. I'm going to be using it for Music production and Video editing mostly. But it will have the odd game thrown at it too. The only complaint; if you can call it that is I wish it had more PCIe slots. I only have one slot left that I'm going to install an I/O board into. To anybody think of getting one, what are you waiting for? Do it. You won't regret it. Even if you're on a tight budget you can own this beast. I've seen boxes for sale on ebay UK for less than £200. Add a 10 core CPU for less than most people spend on lunch in a week, a cheap sound card and a GPU and you've got a gaming rig that can hang with the best of them!!

Please, how to fix the very loud and strong noise for this type of server, noting that we replaced the fan and not a month passed until the noise returned.

    Note:

    In Bios

    >> iDRAC Settings

There is no option iDRAC in powerEdge T320

Servidor Dell T320 – SWC0700: iDRAC is not ready. The configuration values cannot be accessed

    Thank Y very much Prof.

What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
