After 14 months of trying to figure out how the *&$#!^ to make this thing actually work (and look okay-ish in the process), we’re finally here. If you haven’t guessed, it’s a custom DIY laptop built completely from scratch, with a Ryzen CPU and a Radeon GPU and everything else a regular desktop might have.

Hmmm, i'm thinking: What's stoppung you fron actually use liquid cooling on the laptop? Maybe space, but considering liquid can take any form, you just use almost all the remaining space as a tank and put small tubes on it to move the liquid around, would this work?

You should have soldered the heatsink components with tin, simply gluing them with thermal paste is neither efficient nor resistant

It would be better to take a motherboard with a horizontal PCI. I saw one in a Chinese monoblock something like Asrock Z170M-PIO2. Or IMB-1244-WV case it has slots for mobile memory. Then you wouldn't have to connect the bus and you could save on the thickness of the laptop. But it's still cool

hm, my immediate thought was to get a broken thinkpad, remove the bottom plate, 3d print it to fit everything. For cooling, I thought to try coolers from the laptops. And well, my initial thought was to use a PCIe rizer instead of keeping GPU inside: keeping battery instead, but I like the way you did it as well
