Its not a cut and dry issue, the two cards might be slightly slower but they consume much less power and also have better driver support(and you never run on camera any driver cleanup software to remove the amd junk). Also there are some chances that the power delivery and the riser are throttling performance. I wouldn't consider the two nvidia units a lost cause yet.

Hi Morten, the mining cards you showed only have 640 cuda cores, look in GPUz! GTX 1060 have 1152 (3gb) 1280 (6gb) Cuda Cores! A GTX 1050 (2gb) has 640 Cuda cores. That was a bad purchase I think !?

I need to get one of those short GPU's since the full size doesn't fit in the case I have. I only run the folding computer every other day since the power is expensive.

    Hi

I have a server from HP it's the ML150 G6 i have installed 2x Xeon E5520, i would like to install a Nvidia Quadro 2000 but when i turn on the server the fan does not turn and the card does not work, but if i install a 4x PCI-e NVMe adapter in the same slot it works

    is it a power problem??

    i have the 460w non-redundant power supply

    Thanks

Just an F@H tip.. when a worker task gets to around 90% complete, the F@H client will start attempting to download the next Work Unit for that core processor (GPU or CPU unit depending on which core worker is nearly done). Pressing finishing button will not stop folding until all work units are done, including units that are downloaded but not yet started.

Greetings from Peru, first of all thank you for your videos and for the contribution you make by sharing your knowledge, you help us a lot. Now I wanted to ask you please if you could make a video of how to configure the IBM Storage Configuration Manager on BladeCentre servers, I have a problem with a server, that I cannot access the configuration of the storage arrangements of the chassis and direct it to a blade, I would be eternally grateful if you could please support me. Thank you.

Newer support for CUDA in Folding@Home might warrant a revisit to these cards? Love the videos!

  24. @hotwykinger6889

    November 7, 2024 at 10:14 am

boaaaar…you must at min run these cards for 3 days to calculate the real ppd-output.btw a gtx1060 is good for 360.000 to 400.000 ppd ( thats what i got with that card ) and i also read that this P106-90 cant match that but would get about 300.000 ppd. BTW the gtx 1060 is faster at f@h than a 1650, had both running, but the points per watt are better at 1650. But after all the ppd loss at lowend cards is significant at F@H so atm i run midrange-cards and even there you got a ppd-punishment for slightly slower cards that dont reflect the speed difference : an RTX3090 does 6 .500.000 ppd, an 2070super only 2.400.000ppd and the slightly bit slower RX Vega64 only 1.400.000 ppd. This, if you really wanna stay in the folding race with an eye on rankings today you really must invest in good cards…if you just want to support F@H and dont care about rankings your good with all from 1050 upwards

What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
