    First 😀

Edit: would really love to get some blades to play with, but they are too loud for a bedroom.

Try to run blade server without enclosure. I know it is possible with HP blades G6 or G7 but not sure about others.

Man i wish i could afford a blade server, i actually recently bought my first server which was a hp proliant dl380p gen8, altho its a tad noisy so im working on moving it into the garage, your channel has been a massive inspiration and i cant wait to buy more servers eventually

We had a ton of BladeCenters at work when they first came out. Nothing like starting one up without the baffle – other than being behind a jet getting ready for takeoff! Power requirements are crazy too. I remember issues with "fencing" the network interfaces. Yes, very niche!

I am sure this is a stupid question, can a blade Work without the bladeserver it self?

If only it was viable to ship to aus, I've been playing around and teaching my partner with 2 enclosures and hs20 and hs21's are really starting to struggle (she is learning docker, various hypervisors and pf sense)

Morten – you should make a video where you melt all those blades down, extract all the heavy metals and sell them. That would be enough for you to buy a few bottles of your favourite knock-off cola… 🤣

We've replaced our Blade Center powered by Power 7 and HS22 Intelboards last year, because of End of Maintenance. The New S922 and Lenovo Servers are brillant. For us dedicated HW is a benefit, because they can be replaced stepwise, according to their Support plan

These servers are way too old for me :-). Too much power/heat, too loud. Unfortunately my servers are in a room where my kids are sleeping occasionally :-

Yes, very niche! But so fascinating!

I know a person wich is doing 3d rendering and modeling by himself. Only just some spots you see on tv and some videos for yt (2d and 3d videos). He has some servers that i led to him. G5,g6,g7 hps are his equipment (major is a g7 with 2 x5660 and 64 gb ddr3) and when prices gone up he shut
Off some. He purchased a bladecenter E. Very rare the h one. And he's looking for some cheap blades like the ls21 (also gonna be upgraded with 6 cores opterons and more ram) might recommend you
