Installing HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 Server into Rack (Sliding Rails)
This server has been sitting on a bench in the basement for over 3 years, it’s time to properly mount it into the server rack. I got some 1U Sliding Rails for HP from RackSolutions (1U Raven 100-A Rail for HP, SKU 122-2413) for $130. While I could of probably installed it myself, I employed some help from a friend from work. The documentation was crap and the screw covers on the proliant no longer stay closed (still investigating that) but we did get it mounted into the server cabinet. In this video we will show the full installation process, installing the inner and outer rails, to sliding the server into the rack. Since these are sliding rails, you can slide the server in and out of the rack for easy maintenance.

What is dimension of this server? Does it fit in rack case 60cm x 80cm???

The floppy latch flap is because the rail is not an original rail maybe? That latch should secure the server to the rail once pushed all the way in even without a screw. Mine came with the original rails on and it latches perfectly when pushed in. So those are not screw covers, those are latches. You release the server by pulling them down and it pushes the server away from the outer rail so you can slide it out (a bit like the HDD caddy's latch). Maybe you installed the outer rail ends the wrong way? There should be a part that the latch catches on and clicks to it.

I have a DL180 and can't for the life of me figure out why it won't slide in all the way.
Doesn't matter how far I adjust the rails because the depth of the slide doesn't extend with it.
What's really nuts is that it fit perfectly on my first attempt. Removed it to install some hardware. Now there's about 2 inches of hang between the front of the rack and the ears.

I have the same issue with the flaps, turns out the manufacturer said you havd to flip the sides. Im having bigger issues now, i cant pull out my rack 🙁 hope that fix works tho!
