Why I chose Electrical Engineering over Computer Science

Electrical engineering vs computer science is a toss up for most students, but for me I chose electrical engineering over software engineering. This video serves as a brief comparison of computer science vs electrical engineering vs software engineering.

Watch this next: https://youtu.be/tMkD69-7h_o

This comparison also includes electronics engineering vs computer science, or electrical engineering vs computer engineering.

Yeah i would Choose Computer Engineering BUT my problem is Huang has Masters Degree in Eletrical Engineering so i think to be able to Create Computers like him one must have Masters Electrical Engineering.

Generally, it's considered easier for a software engineer to learn electrical engineering than the other way around. Here's why:

    1. Mathematical foundations: Electrical engineering is based on fundamental mathematical and physical principles like calculus, physics, and thermodynamics. Software engineers have already studied these mathematical foundations, making the transition easier.

    2. Logical thinking: Software engineers are used to logical and analytical thinking, which is also essential in electrical engineering.

    3. Programming and simulation: Software engineers can apply their programming skills to simulate and model electrical systems, helping them understand electrical concepts better.

On the other hand, for an electrical engineer to learn software engineering can be more challenging because:

    1. Programming paradigm: Programming requires a different approach to thinking and problem-solving, which can be a difficult transition for some electrical engineers.

    2. New languages and tools: Electrical engineers need to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and tools, which can require significant effort.

However, with dedication and practice, any engineer can learn and master a new discipline.

What is exactly Electrical Engineering in the U.S? I'm from Hispanic-America and 'Ingenieria Electrica' is about generation and distribution of electrical energy, like Power Engineering. Is it a mix of Power Engineering with Electronic Engineering and a little of computing?

Studying more than cs student does not make EE student better it depends on interest not anything else ☺️

Haha this guy is just WRONG and obviusly super biased and trying to put one major above another just because thats what he chose to purse.

CS is NOT a branch of EE lol, wtf?

EEs dont know the first thing about the most fundemental consepts of computer science such as theory of computaion, cryptohgtahoy, coding theory, complexity thoery, operating systems, databases, Data strauctres and algorithmes, discrete math and graph theory and i can go on all day bruh + they sure are not even remotly close to have the knowledge and underataing that a CS major has to be a SWE lol, absoulte joke. go do your homework pal, you cleary have 0 actual knowledge of computer science haha

    November 4, 2024 at 12:28 pm

Bro Im working as a software engineer now, but I’m also super interested in learning about hardware, electrical engineering, physics, etc. But I probably still want software to be my specialty. Do you think these things will benefit my career in the long term? Or should I see it as more of a hobby?

  19. @rahulsinghmahar9480

    November 4, 2024 at 12:28 pm

It would be great if you can tell us the roadmap for electrical engineer

  20. @_ryu-pop_4201

    November 4, 2024 at 12:28 pm

Tengo 38 años y quiero empezar a estudiar ingeniería eléctrica crees que ya es muy tarde?

  21. @stealthbear55

    November 4, 2024 at 12:28 pm

    This one is golden

Edit: to expand on that, as someone who interviews for software engineering positions, I would definitely higher an electrical engineer for a software job. On the flip side, it would be much harder for a computer scientist to land a job in electrical engineering.

What is Roblox? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 13 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
