Northern Ireland weather outlook for the week ahead as two yellow warnings issued

Heavy rain and wind are likely to bring some transport disruption and flooding

After a washout of a weekend, the weather forecast suggests that things aren’t set to change as we move into a new week.

The Met Office has issued two weather warnings – one for rain in southern and western parts of the country on Monday and a further yellow rain and wind warning for Tuesday across the entire country.

The forecaster has said that the heavy rain and wind are likely to bring some transport disruption and flooding in places at the start of the week.

This is what the Met Office has forecast for Northern Ireland:

Monday:

Mainly dry in the morning with the odd shower. Rain will gradually spread east through the afternoon, occasionally heavy. Windy with southeasterly gales along the east coast. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rain spreading north on Tuesday, windy with strong southeasterly winds. Remaining unsettled with further rain at times on Wednesday and Thursday.
