Ruler’s decree establishes Rental Dispute Resolution Centre in Ajman
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has ordered the establishment of the new Rental Dispute Resolution Centre in Ajman, replacing the existing rental disputes committee.
Law No. (1) of 2026 aims to strengthen the legislative framework governing rental disputes in the emirate, with the aim of swift resolution.
It comes into force on 1 February 2026 and will be published in the Official Gazette.
The specialised centre has been established to adjudicate rental disputes arising between landlords and tenants, in accordance with clear and defined procedures that are aligned with recognised legal and judicial best practices.
The law aims to protect the rights of all involved parties, enhance the stability of the real estate sector, and support the emirate’s investment environment.
The centre will provide a specialised judicial system to hear and rule on all rental-related cases concerning properties located in Ajman, including those within free zones. It will also develop and expedite dispute resolution procedures.
The law specifies the centre’s jurisdictions and powers, as well as the mechanisms for appealing its decisions, and will lead to simplified procedures and reduced litigation timelines.
