Smithills Open Farm welcomes adorable baby llama Potato

Born on January 15, the new arrival is settling in well alongside her sibling and her proud parents.

Smithills Open Farm remains one of Bolton’s most-loved attractions, giving visitors the chance to see daily farm life up close while meeting a whole host of animals.

The farm is home to around 16 llamas, all charmingly named after fruit and vegetables, with babies born throughout the year.

Farm manager Jenny White said: “On an adorableness scale, Potato is probably a ten. She will be out in the Pets Corner for visitors to meet, stroke and enjoy.”

Potato isn’t the only new face delighting families—this month has also welcomed the birth of a baby goat, adding even more excitement to the farm’s bustling nursery.

The naming theme continues across the site, with alpacas all named after chocolate varieties. Visitors can also meet lambs, goats, foals, baby alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs and even tiny chicks in the ever-popular Pets Corner.

Smithills Open Farm also features an onsite café, gift shop and ice cream shop, making it the perfect family day out.
