Marlon’s marriage fears in Emmerdale ITVX release amid Graham and Rhona history | Soaps
The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated January 29. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Two more people learnt of Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) return from the dead in today’s Emmerdale, one of them being Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock).
Graham’s official return to the village happened on January 2, when he confronted Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) after learning about Ray Walters (Joe Absolom).
He vowed to help her and April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), and then headed down the street to find Ray.
The two men had a confrontation in the village hall, but it ended because Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) heard the commotion and entered.
Graham headed off, and then eventually got back in his van and got on the road, leading to his appearance in Corriedale.
The character was back in the village yesterday, hiding in the vets waiting for Rhona. They got chatting, but Graham once again was forced to hide due to Joe arriving.
After overhearing Joe talk about his new family at Home Farm, Graham headed up there to confirm his resurrection to the person he thought of as a son, and ex partner Kim Tate (Claire King).
Graham was taken to the police station at the end of the episode after Joe told them about his return from the dead. Today, his time being questioned really didn’t last long, as Graham pointed out faking your own death isn’t actually illegal.
That, and the fact he’s got people on the inside helping him steer clear from any police based consequences.
Returning to the village, Graham opened up to Rhona and wondered if he should’ve continued staying dead. Their chat was interrupted by the arrival of Marlon, who had learnt about Graham through Kim.
Marlon was stunned to discover Rhona knew about Graham coming back and never told him. She tried to explain that it was part of her plan to keep the family safe from Ray, but Marlon was already growing paranoid.

Just before Graham’s apparent murder, he was with Rhona and they were planning on leaving Emmerdale together. If Graham’s ‘death’ didn’t happen, Rhona and Marlon’s reconnection, subsequent marriage, and all the drama that tested them after, wouldn’t have happened.
She tried desperately to reassure Marlon and said he had nothing to worry about. As far as Rhona was concerned, Graham was in the process of leaving the village, believing it was a bad idea to come back.
Unbeknownst to them, Joe had found Graham and told him that he has one more chance. He’s sticking around, so does that mean Marlon should be worried about the connection Graham still has with Rhona?
‘Who knows?’, star Andrew Scarborough wondered as he reflected on Graham’s love for Rhona.
‘Obviously (Rhona) would have to forgive him first. Plus her relationship with Marlon is very strong. But Graham did love her. He has been away, and probably has lived quite a lonely life, because he’d have had to go from country to country doing his various jobs that he does freelance.
‘So I would imagine he probably still hankers after her and probably is still in love with her. Watch the space.’
‘I am quite excited’ teases Andrew. ‘I can’t say any more than that, but it involves a bit of his, well just to say that somethings catch up on him.’
