Published

on

At least one person has died and six others were injured during a shooting at a Chick-fil-A in New Jersey, and the suspect is still on the loose after a masked man was seen fleeing the scene.

Union County Police responded to reports of a shooting at the fast-food restaurant located on Route 22 at around 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, according to CBS New York.

Newsweek reported that one person died at the scene, while at least six people were shot. The total number of suspects and their identities have not yet been publicly shared, and police have also not announced the names of the victims.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” Lauren Farinas, a spokesperson for the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said, according to NJ.com. “More information will be released as it becomes available.”

While no arrests have been made, police believe that the shooting was a targeted incident that stemmed from a drug or gang-related dispute.

After the shooting, Chick-fil-A employees were kept in the locked-down restaurant as police launched an investigation into the matter.

One man told ABC 7 that he drove to the restaurant after his son, who works at the restaurant, called him in a panic.

The father said that multiple masked suspects shot several employees, and he even described the restaurant as a “war zone.”

Meanwhile, a Lyft driver told the outlet that he was finishing a trip nearby when he heard more than seven shots.

“I finished my trip over there, in the return zone. I heard the shots. When I finished the trip, I go to Chick-fil-A to buy two burgers — I see the police, I heard the shots very close,” he said.

A man told CBS News New York that his girlfriend works at the Chick-fil-A and said a group of men entered the restaurant and went directly behind the counter before they fired multiple shots.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is currently leading the investigation into the shooting. The office did not immediately respond to Us Weekly’s request for comment regarding the incident.

Police have announced that there is a $10,000 reward being offered for tips that lead to an arrest amid the investigation.

Lisa Hochstein All Smiles After Release From Miami Jail

Published

Lisa Hochstein

Real Housewives of Miami” star Lisa Hochstein was all smiles in the first video of her after being released from the Miami-Dade County Jail. The reality star and her boyfriend, Jody Glidden, are facing one felony charge of interception of communication after her ex-husband, Lenny Hochstein, accused them of planting listening devices in his car in 2023. The pair were engaged in a contentious divorce battle when Lenny claimed he spotted a recording device in the floorboard of his Mercedes Benz. Now, things are getting even worse.

Lisa Hochstein All Smiles In First Video Since Being Released From The Miami-Dade County Jail

For those unfamiliar, Lisa turned herself in to the Miami-Dade County Jail in April 2026 after being hit with one felony charge, stemming from her allegedly spying on her ex-husband.

In the first video of her after her release, the TV personality is all smiles as she hugs friends, including her fellow “Real Housewives of Miami” co-star Adrianna de Moura.

The reality star was blasted with questions about the criminal charges; however, the mother of two failed to comment on them specifically.

She did, however, share a message for her fans. “I love them all. I love all my fans. Thanks for your support,” she said.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Lisa and her boyfriend, Glidden, were accused of planting listening devices in Lenny’s Mercedes Benz GLS 600 Maybach after loaning it to her to test drive.

Legal documents state that after Lenny received his vehicle back, he noticed a “suspicious device” taped to the driver’s-side floorboard.

“It was covered in tape which, upon learning the nature of the device, the victim suspected was used to secure it under the seat and out of view,” the warrant read.

Elsewhere in the legal documents, Lenny’s lawyers claimed the recordings uncovered from the device “depicts Lisa Hochstein and Glidden holding a discussion and the distinct sound of a device such as the hidden recorder being wrestled into place.”

The most dramatic part? Once Lenny turned the reported listening device in to the police, they recovered deleted recordings, one of which allegedly depicted Lisa “engaged in intimate activities.”

The legal documents claim Lisa allegedly placed these devices in Lenny’s car to “unlawfully and intentionally” gain access to information about their divorce.

Lenny, who married Lisa in October 2009, filed for divorce from the Bravolebrity in May 2022, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Shortly after, Lenny was spotted with a new girl, Katharina Mazepa, prompting Lisa to release her own statement, saying she was “blindsided” by the news.

“With two young children involved, as a mom I’m going to focus all of my energy and time on them,” she said.

The pair finalized their divorce in November 2024, but during an episode of the “Two T’s In A Pod” show, Lisa said she and Lenny would always need to maintain some level of communication.

“… the divorce is never really over when you have kids,” she said before saying they weren’t in a “great” place.

“I don’t know if we will ever be friends,” she added. “My goal is to just be a good co-parent with him because ultimately, that’s all I care about.”

Lisa Sees No Future With Her Boyfriend, Glidden, Without A Ring

Regarding her relationship with Glidden, Hochstein said during a “Real Housewives of Miami” after show that she could see a future with him only if he proposed.

“If I don’t have a ring eventually, then there’s no future,” she said.

However, Glidden told Lisa that, in order to visualize their future together, he would “need some of the drama to go down.”

“It used to be that almost all of the drama came from the divorce. And, lately, it’s been maybe half divorce and half the friends. And that’s just overwhelming,” Glidden told her on camera.

Not only was Glidden speaking about Lisa’s relationship with Lenny, but he was also referring to her beef with Larsa Pippen.

“Being in any relationship is tough, but being in this relationship is really, really tough,” he said, citing Pippen’s personal “attacks.”

“The latest one with Larsa was targeted at me. And it causes us to fight to the point where I have to sleep in another room sometimes because we’re fighting so bad,” he added.

The Academy Has Decided
Your Perfect Film Is…

Your answers have pointed to one Oscar Best Picture winner above all others. This is the film that was made for the way your mind works.

Parasite

You are drawn to films that operate on multiple levels simultaneously — that begin in one genre and quietly, brilliantly migrate into another. Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is a film about class, desire, and the architecture of inequality that manages to be darkly funny, deeply suspenseful, and genuinely shocking across a single extraordinary running time. Your instinct is for cinema that hides its true intentions until the moment it’s ready to reveal them. Parasite is exactly that — a film that rewards close attention and punishes assumptions, right up to its devastating final image.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

You want it all — and this film gives you all of it. The Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the most maximalist films ever made: action comedy, multiverse sci-fi, family drama, existential crisis, and a genuinely earned emotional core that sneaks up on you amid the chaos. You are someone who responds to ambition, who doesn’t want cinema to choose between being entertaining and being meaningful. This film refuses that choice entirely. It is overwhelming by design, and its overwhelming nature is precisely the point — because the feeling of being crushed by infinite possibility is exactly what it’s about.

Oppenheimer

You are drawn to cinema on a grand scale — films that understand history not as a backdrop but as a force, and that place their characters inside that force and watch what happens. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a film about the terrifying gap between what we can do and what we should do, told with the full weight of one of the most consequential moments in human history behind it. You want your films to feel important without feeling self-important — to earn their ambition through sheer craft and the gravity of their subject. Oppenheimer does exactly that. It is enormous, complicated, and refuses easy comfort.

Birdman

You are drawn to films that foreground their own construction — that make the how of the filmmaking part of the what it’s about. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, shot to appear as a single continuous take, is cinema examining itself through the cracked mirror of a fading actor’s ego. You respond to formal daring, to the feeling that a film is doing something that probably shouldn’t be possible. Michael Keaton’s performance and Emmanuel Lubezki’s restless camera create something genuinely unlike anything else — a film that is simultaneously about creativity, relevance, self-destruction, and the impossibility of ever truly knowing if your work means anything at all.

No Country for Old Men

You are drawn to cinema that trusts silence, that refuses to explain itself, and that treats dread as a form of meaning. The Coen Brothers’ No Country for Old Men is a film about the arrival of a new kind of evil — implacable, arbitrary, and utterly indifferent to the moral frameworks we use to make sense of the world. It is one of the most formally controlled films ever made, and its controlled restraint is what makes it so terrifying. You want your films to haunt you, not comfort you. You are not interested in resolution if resolution would be dishonest. No Country for Old Men is honest in a way that most cinema never dares to be.

2

‘Beast’ (2022)

Rotten Tomatoes: 68% | IMDb: 5.6/10

After taking over Apple TV with the second season of his thriller series Hijack, Idris Elba turned his attention to the Netflix top 10 as this 2022 action flick became an unlikely chart topper. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, Beast follows a widowed father, Nate (Elba), who takes his two daughters to a South African big game reserve, only for chaos to ensue when they are attacked by a man-eating lion.

Sure, Beast doesn’t reinvent the wheel in the action thriller genre, but nor is it trying to. Instead, it succeeds in bringing tension and thrills aplenty throughout a tight 93-minute runtime. Also featuring Sharlto Copley, the movie failed to make much of a mark in theaters during its run in 2022 but marks the perfect appetizer before Elba eventually returns to action in Extraction 3 alongside franchise star Chris Hemsworth.

3

‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ (2017)

Rotten Tomatoes: 77% | IMDb: 6.9/10

If you’re looking for an adventure for the whole family this weekend, look no further than Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. A long-awaited sequel to the 1995 favorite starring Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst, the film follows four teenagers who are sucked into the magical world of a video game. However, with their lives quickly endangered, they must learn to work together to escape.

Featuring a star-studded cast including Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has a classic adventure movie feel that acts as a perfect ode to the beloved 1995 original. Charming and hilarious, the film was followed by Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019, with a third installment set to debut in theaters on Christmas Day 2026.

QVC, HSN Owner to File for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

Published

QVC Group, which consists of home shopping TV brands HSN and QVC, is making big moves behind the scenes.

According to an annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, April 14, the company revealed that it intends to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas after reaching a restructuring agreement with creditors.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chapter 11 allows a company to continue operating while it is restructured. As a result, no immediate changes are expected for QVC and HSN shoppers.

Today marks a big step for us as we shape the future of live social shopping,” QVC and HSN said via Instagram on Thursday, April 16. “QVC Group is taking action to strengthen our company for the long term, and we’re determined to come out of this even stronger — so we can keep bringing you innovative products, compelling content & unforgettable moments. QVC, which stands for “Quality, Value and Convenience,” was founded in 1986 by Joseph Myron Segel. The network has thousands of items consistently available on-air and online in various categories, including jewelry, fashion, beauty, electronics, kitchen and home.

Both HSN and QVC attract several celebrities and their brands, such as Jennie Garth, Giuliana Rancic, Curtis Stone and Stacy London.

In March 2025, QVC Group announced they were laying off approximately 900 staffers as they plotted a shift to live shopping on social platforms like TikTok.

“Linear TV is a highly engaging, highly profitable platform and it remains our cornerstone. However, as traditional TV declines and a mix of video platforms takes a greater share of customer attention, we must hurry our expansion beyond TV to find growth,” the company wrote in its annual report to shareholders at the time. “We are fundamentally redefining who we are as a company and the role we play for our customers and in retail. We enter this next phase of our turnaround with rigor and excitement.”

In June 2025, HSN filmed its final live broadcast in Florida before moving its studios to Pennsylvania, where QVC is based.

Three months later, six talented women joined HSN as new program hosts after several familiar faces said farewell to the network.

“Seeing the genuine excitement and commitment from our new hosts to not only learn more about the HSN brand but to also forge relationships directly with our customers has been impressive to see,” QVC and HSN executive Stacy Bowe gushed to Us in December 2025. “They are eager to help bring the stories to life behind the products they share in an authentic and trustworthy manner that resonates with our customers. Why Royal Family Is ‘Unhappy’ About Harry And Meghan’s Tour

Published

on

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s visit to Australia has sparked debate, with critics questioning its purpose and royal-like optics despite being privately funded.

While their team says the trip focuses on community impact, the mix of charitable engagements and paid appearances has drawn scrutiny.

The visit also comes amid ongoing tensions with Prince William and King Charles III, following Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back as working royals in 2020.

‘Unhappy’ Palace Claims Surface As Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Australia Visit Triggers Royal Tour Debate

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Melbourne earlier this week, marking their first trip. Unlike that earlier tour, this four-day trip is privately funded, with the couple traveling commercially from Los Angeles.

Some royal commentators have taken issue with the optics. Kinsey Schofield argued that the “palace is unhappy about these rent-a-royal tours because it blatantly disregards the late queen’s very specific instruction that there can be no half-in, half-out for the Sussexes,” suggesting it gives the impression of maintaining royal status while operating independently.

“The purpose of the Australian tour is monetary, but it is also to look like royals because the world has rejected Harry and Meghan as reality stars and podcasters,” Schofield added, per Fox News Digital. “Their relevance remains through their proximity to the British Royal family. The royal family thinks it’s disrespectful.”

Similarly, Helena Chard described the trip as one that promotes the Sussex brand while “undermining the very institution that gave them the platform.”

Royal author Robert Hardman noted that the visit may leave palace aides uncertain about its intent, given the lack of formal ties.

“I’m sure [Buckingham Palace] would prefer that Harry and Meghan weren’t going, but there’s not a lot they can do about it,” he said ahead of their journey.

Hardman added, “They have no control. There will undoubtedly be a sense of confusion about what Harry and Meghan are there for … this trip may stick in the gullet of the palace.”

Prince Harry And Meghan Insists Their Trip Is Purely For Work And Not A Royal Tour

Despite the criticism, the Sussexes’ team insists the trip is centered on meaningful work.

According to their spokesperson, the “visit prioritizes listening, learning, and supporting communities rather than promotion.”

Their schedule reflects a mix of philanthropic and commercial engagements. Harry is set to deliver a keynote speech at a mental health summit, while Meghan will headline a women-focused retreat in Sydney.

At the same time, Harry and Meghan have also carried out several community-focused engagements. They visited Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital, spent time with a women’s shelter, and connected with a veterans’ arts group.

Harry made a stop at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, and both are expected to participate in an Invictus-related sailing event. The Invictus Games, founded by Harry in 2014, remains a key part of his public work supporting wounded service members.

Critics Question Sussexes’ Australia Trip As Prince William Rift And Palace Tensions Resurface

Some critics argue that combining charitable appearances with paid engagements creates mixed messaging. Richard Fitzwilliams suggested that while the causes themselves are worthwhile, the presentation is “similar, in many ways, to an actual royal tour,” without formal backing.

The trip also comes amid ongoing reports of strained relations within the royal family. Harry and Prince William are believed to be out of contact, while communication with King Charles III is said to be limited.

Fitzwilliams suggested that William would “almost certainly oppose the couple’s attempt to ease themselves back into some sort of relationship with the royal family as he doesn’t trust them.”

He added that the high-profile nature of the visit, taking place in one of the King’s realms, is “bound to concern the palace” due to the global attention it’s attracting.

Prince Harry Reflects On Princess Diana’s Death As Meghan Markle Speaks Out On Online Abuse At Melbourne Summit

Amid the criticism, Harry used the trip to reflect on more personal themes. Speaking at the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne, he opened up about the lasting impact of losing his mother, Princess Diana, when he was just 12.

He recalled resisting the role expected of him in the years that followed, saying he struggled to accept a path he associated with her death.

Over time, however, he said his perspective changed, and he began to see his position as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. He has often linked that early loss to his strong desire to protect his wife, Meghan, and their children from intense public scrutiny.

Meghan also spoke candidly at the event, addressing the toll of online abuse. She said she had faced years of relentless criticism and harassment, describing herself as “the most trolled person in the entire world, man or woman” at one point. Despite that, she emphasized her resilience, telling the audience, “I’m still here.”

Henry Cavill’s 2005 James Bond Audition Tape Proved Daniel Craig Was Always the Right Choice

Published

on

Henry Cavill as Solo smiling near a parked car in The Man from UNCLE

The casting of James Bond is one of the most highly debated subjects among cinephiles, as the character has proven to be among the most long-lasting screen protagonists of all-time. Although Daniel Craig has proven himself to be one of the best actors to ever play 007, it was not an easily-won role, as many young stars were in the fray to inherit the role from Pierce Brosnan after he announced that he would not be returning to make another sequel, after Die Another Day received negative reviews from lifelong Bond fans. A leaked audition tape showed Henry Cavill making a case for himself to play Bond in Casino Royale, but it worked out in everyone’s favor that he did not get the part.

Henry Cavill Wasn’t the Right Fit for ‘Casino Royale’

Cavill was ultimately too young to play Bond, as he was only 22 at the time he auditioned for Casino Royale. While Casino Royale is an adaptation of the first novel in Ian Fleming’s series and is based on the first mission that Bond goes on, it is still established that he is a veteran secret agent who has already earned his license to kill, and earned the respect of M (Judi Dench). While it was Craig’s relative youthfulness that made his interpretation of Bond more empathetic than previous versions, he had already proven himself to be a capable action hero in films like Layer Cake and Munich. One of the best aspects of Bond is that the character is of an ambiguous age; while Roger Moore had grown far too old to play Bond at the end of his run of films, it also would not work to have a fresh-faced 007 who did not look like he had enough worldly experience.

While he does do a good job at delivering some of the most iconic lines that Bond is known for, Cavill’s audition did not indicate that he had a new take on the character. Cavill certainly made a solid case that he could give a performance similar to that of Sean Connery or Timothy Dalton, but Casino Royale was pitched as a much darker, more intense Bond film that stripped away the superficiality of the Brosnan films in favor of a far grittier story that more closely resembled the original source material. Cavill’s optimistic, snarky approach to the role would not have congealed with the direction that Bond goes in Casino Royale, as he starts off as a very cynical character who only begins to open up after the death of Vesper Lyn (Eva Green) shatters his heart. While it is possible that Cavill could have delved into these complexities after he had gained some experience, he would not have suited the role well had he been cast in 2005.

Cavill Will Probably Never Play James Bond

Although he remains a popular choice among fans now that Craig has retired from the role following the release of No Time To Die, Cavill might be too old to play Bond, as he is already 41. Given that Barbara Broccoli has sold her rights of the franchise to Amazon and new director Denis Villeneuve will likely want a younger actor that can feasibly appear in multiple films without aging out of the part, it is far more likely that a younger actor is cast. Cavill is also far too famous to play the role, as he is already widely recognized for his roles in The Witcher and as Superman in the DCEU. The Bond series works best when the main actor is less established at the time they are cast, as the audience does not have any baggage that they bring in when they sit down to see the film.

Arrakis · Dune

Paul Atreides

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

  • You see further ahead than others and you plan accordingly, even when the vision frightens you.
  • You are driven by loyalty to your people and a sense of destiny you didn’t ask for but can’t escape.
  • Paul Atreides is not simply a hero — he is someone who understands the cost of power and chooses to bear it anyway.
  • That gravity, that willingness to carry what others won’t, is exactly you.

USS Enterprise · Star Trek

Captain Kirk

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

  • You take the mission seriously without ever taking yourself too seriously.
  • Your crew would follow you anywhere, not because you demand it, but because you’ve earned it.
  • Kirk’s genius isn’t tactical — it’s human. He reads people, bends rules with purpose, and wills outcomes into existence through sheer conviction.
  • That combination of warmth, audacity, and relentless optimism is unmistakably yours.

The Rebellion · Star Wars

Princess Leia

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

  • You lead through conviction. Your voice carries because your belief is unshakeable.
  • You gave up everything ordinary the moment you chose the cause, and you’ve never looked back.
  • Leia is not a supporting character in her own story — she is the moral centre of the entire rebellion.
  • That same fierce, principled, unbreakable core is what defines you.

The Nostromo · Alien

Ellen Ripley

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

  • You see threats clearly, you document the truth even when no one listens, and when the time comes you handle it yourself.
  • Ripley’s heroism is earned, not performed. She doesn’t have a speech — she has a flamethrower and a plan.
  • You share her composure under the worst possible pressure, and her refusal to pretend the monster isn’t there.
  • When it counts, you don’t flinch. That’s everything.

The Wasteland · Mad Max

Max Rockatansky

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

  • You don’t ask for help, don’t need validation, and don’t wait for anyone to tell you the rules no longer apply.
  • Your loyalty, when it finally arrives, is absolute — but it’s earned in silence and tested in action, not in words.
  • Max is not a nihilist. He is someone who lost everything and found, against his will, that he still has something worth protecting.
  • That bruised, stubborn, ultimately human core is exactly yours.

Despite the fact that a future playing Bond is not in the cards, Cavill has expressed his desire to join the franchise even though he wouldn’t take the title role. Those disappointed that he never got the chance to play 007 should definitely check out The Man From U.N.C.L.E., a remake of the classic television series of the same name in which Cavill plays the American spy Napoleon Solo. Despite the film’s disappointing box office results, Cavill did team up with director Guy Ritchie once more on the adventure film The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and will next be seen in his action thriller In the Grey. He’ll never be Bond, but that doesn’t mean Cavill is done creating iconic characters.
