An Intense Final Scene Forces You To Check Back in Next Week
Editor’s note: The below recap contains spoilers for The Pitt Season 2 Episode 5.
The Pitt Season 2 may have had a slow start, but it was a purposeful way to show the calm before the storm. Instead, watching characters adjust became the focus, whether it be Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) preparing for his sabbatical, Dr. Baran Al-Hashmi (Sepideh Moafi) getting ready to take over as the new attending, or Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball) returning after his stint in rehab. These characters clash, but will they have time to disagree now that things are picking up? In last week’s episode, the ER starts receiving an influx of patients from a nearby hospital that has shut down for a mysterious reason, so what’s in store for “The Pitt” now that Season 2’s shift has reached the fifth hour?
Health Insurance Woes Are Front and Center in ‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Episode 5
Episode 5, “11:00 AM,” begins with Debbie Cohen (Mara Klein), who has cellulitis of the foot spreading up her leg, being taken to Robby. It leads to the attending and Langdon being forced to speak to each other, with the former telling him that his patient has gotten worse. Dr. Trinity Santos (Isa Briones) is asked if she wants to join Trauma 2, but she’s still overwhelmed with getting caught up with her charting, which she’s now doing via dictation. That doesn’t last long, as nurse Dana Evans (Katherine LaNasa) sends her to see a new patient with help from James Ogilvie (Lucas Iverson).
Meanwhile, Orlando Diaz (William Guirola), the patient with diabetes and no health insurance wants to leave, but Dr. Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh) gets him to stay while she finds case manager Noelle Hastings (Meta Golding) to talk about costs. As this is happening, Al-Hashimi observes the patient with the infection in Trauma 2. When Debbie gets on the phone with her boss, and he threatens to fire her, Robby takes the phone and threatens a lawsuit where he will testify on her behalf. With that, the anxious Debbie smiles and relaxes.
Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) and Dr. Al-Hashimi give an update to Jada (Erin Croom), the sister of the unconscious man, Jackson (Zack Morris), who was tased, as Santos and Ogilvie get to work on their patient, a constipated elderly woman. Back in Trauma 2, Robby tries to leave Langdon to help a woman who hit her head, but Al-Hashmi and Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif) have got it handled, so he goes to an inmate who was assaulted, only for Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell) and Mel King (Taylor Dearden) to jump in. Robby’s forced to return to Trauma 2, where the infection is spreading up Debbie’s leg, and the docs look worried. Robby tells Langdon it’s severe sepsis, and the returning doctor wants to know what else he can do, but Robby tells him he’s done enough and won’t even look at him. Langdon then checks on Louie (Ernest Harden Jr.) next, only to discover that Whitaker is already handling the prescription of his meds. When he tries to talk to Robby, he’s quickly rejected.
A Patient’s Infection Is Spreading Fast in ‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Episode 5
Santos focuses on her charts while Ogilvie treats a woman with a bad cough. Meanwhile, Cassie is caring for a woman who hit her head after having a seizure. She’s weak from cancer and getting hospice care. Meanwhile, Mr. Diaz is experiencing a different issue, and the best that Noelle can do is offer financial assistance, with the hospital covering 40% — but if his bill is over $100,000, that’s still a lot of money. Joy Kwon (Irene Choi) suggests admitting the man to a different and cheaper department, so Noelle says she’ll look into it. She finds a quick moment to talk to Robbie, telling him he’ll get the itch to return to the hospital in seven weeks, tops. She also tells Dana that she hopes Robby finds the peace he’s looking for.
Santos determines that the old woman with the cough Ogilvie is treating has tuberculosis. That means he’ll need shots and to mask up when he moves her. Langdon moves on to a young man who was purposely branded with dry ice before Al-Hashimi asks how he’s doing. Robby’s not going to be here, and she’s happy he’s back. Al-Hashimi then checks in on Mel and Dennis, who are treating the inmate with the broken jaw and ribs, before putting Mohan in charge. A prison guard is monitoring the man at all times, making sure he’s constantly cuffed, even though the doctors don’t like it. Dennis is worried that he overstepped with Langdon, but Mohan says it’s fine. Meanwhile, Debbie’s infection is getting worse, and her blood pressure and oxygen are dropping. Stepping out, Robby is upset to run into Langdon after telling him to leave, but Dana puts him in his place. Al-Hashimi asks Robby why he’s treating her like a resident by questioning her about patient status. He only wants to know how everyone is, he says, so she asks for the same consideration.
‘The Pitt’ Finally Reveals Dr. Collins’ Fate, and It’s a Bittersweet Ending for the Character
Gone in the TV world (for now), but never forgotten in our hearts.
Louie’s Life Is in Danger at the End of ‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Episode 5
A surgeon arrives to see Debbie, who has gone into septic shock. He’s only a med student, though, so Robby demands others come down now. As that situation gets worse, Al-Hashimi watches Dennis and Mel sew up the inmate, whose skin is so weak that the sutures won’t hold. In a quieter moment, Ogilvie asks Santos how she stays so calm. Meanwhile, in another room, Mr. Diaz is allowed to be transferred, although he won’t be getting the IV drip Mohan wants. He’ll be saving some money, but without the level of treatment he needs.
Cassie sets up the cancer patient with a morphine drip, which means she can go home, where an off-duty nurse is helping her with end-of-life care. The old woman with the impacted stool won’t be going home soon, though, and it’s up to Whitaker and to Ogilvie to unblock her rectum. It’s a gross job and nearly too much for the new guy, but someone’s gotta do it, even when the patient loses control of her bowels all over him.
That’s a quick, lighthearted moment before it’s back to Debbie, where Robby is now cutting open her leg to relieve the pressure. Al-Hashimi goes to Santos and suggests she use her AI idea for charting, but Robby disagrees. Saving time with charting only means more patients being seen without a pay increase. As the episode ends, Langdon checks up on Louie, only to find him unconscious and flatlining. He and Robby immediately begin chest compressions. Is the hospital’s most lovable patient going to make it?

Benny Brady Shares Which Family Value Dad Tom ‘Drills’ Into His Head
NFL superstar Tom Brady recently gave fans a deeper look into his relationship with his son in an intimate discussion while promoting Instagram’s “Carversations.”
The new video series from the popular photo-sharing app spotlights authentic conversations between parents and their teens, where some of the best conversations happen: in the car.
In Instagram’s latest release, Tom Brady talks with his son, Benny, about everything under the sun, including driving, the motivational quotes he sends him through direct messages (DMs), and the Brady family values the Super Bowl champ has drilled into his teen’s head.

Tom Brady Talks With His Son About How Driving Has Taught Him To Be Independent
In the second episode of Instagram’s “Carversations,” Tom spoke with Benny about the independence that driving grants him. According to Benny, driving is “definitely a cool feeling” that comes with pretty sweet perks. “For the first time in my life I’m able to like choose where I want to go when I want to go,” Benny added.
The two then joked about who pays for the car’s gas.
While Benny eventually admitted that his NFL star dad foots the bill, it makes him “feel more responsible and independent” when he says he does.

What Does Tom Brady Send His Son Benny Through Instagram DMs?

Later in their conversation, Tom and Benny opened up about the types of content they send each other in DMs.
While Tom sends Benny “motivational stuff,” Benny confessed that he sends “such stupid and funny videos.”
For Tom, though, sending motivational content to his son has a deeper meaning than he may realize in the moment.
“I think it’s funny to send you some goofy stuff on occasion,” Tom said. “But I think for the most part, if I’m going to share stuff with you, I want you to look at it and see a real value in it. Like, ‘Why would Dad send me that?’”
As the conversation around DMs shifted, Benny imagined which megawatt celebrity he would message from Tom’s account if given the chance.

“All right, so first of all, I want some cool clothes. I’m going to DM some really cool businesses, some really cool people, maybe like Travis Scott, Drake, some musicians I like,” Benny said. “I’ll be like ‘Hey, I need some clothes, I’m going to this thing. Make sure it’s a size smaller, though. I’ve started losing some muscle recently.’”

What Family Value Has Tom Brady Instilled In His Son, Benny?

Tom and Benny spent part of their “Carversation” discussing more serious topics, including the values that matter most to their family. When Tom asked Benny to share some “Brady family values” he takes with him wherever he goes, Benny brought up one that he said has become like second nature.
“I mean, the biggest one that you literally drill into my brain is that being cool is to be caring. Like, cool people are people who care. And I mean, I literally hear it in my sleep the amount of times you’ve said that to me. Kind of gets scary,” Benny said before sharing that he tries to live by that mantra daily.
“I feel like I do. Like, you’re not going to be 100% perfect all the time, but what you can be is you can learn from your mistakes, and you can grow from the mistakes,” Benny said.

Why Benny Brady Thinks His Dad Has Reached ‘Unc’ Status

Tom, known for his time with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, also took a moment to speak with Benny about how the world has continued to evolve. To drive the point home, Tom mentioned how football recruiting has changed since he attended the University of Michigan in 1995.
Tom told his son that back in the day, he had to physically mail a VHS tape to recruiters, whereas today, everything is digital. “I think it’s very different now, like, you probably see a lot of things on Instagram. It was a totally different era where there was nothing like these devices when I was a kid where you could share information,” Tom said, to which Benny replied, “Unc.”
But Benny didn’t stop there. He rubbed a little more salt in the wound, jokingly calling his dad “old.”
Tom Talks F-cking Up During Netflix Roast

Tom has been extremely open about his relationship with his children, and during a previous podcast appearance, the elite athlete discussed how his 2024 Netflix roast affected them.
“There’s some things as a parent you f-ck up, and you don’t realize until after,” Tom said, admitting he’s not a perfect parent. “You’ll see as you grow up, there’s no perfect manual for it.”
Tom elaborated, revealing that the roast, which included jokes about his divorce from his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, hit too close to home for his kids.
“… I’ll never forget when I talked to my kids the next day. I felt like a stake through the heart, understandably,” he said. “They’re protective of their mom, of their dad, of everybody.”

Young and the Restless: Mariah’s Suicidal Spiral Puts Dominic in Deadly Peril!
Young and the Restless suggests Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is taking a dangerous turn, and she could put Dominic Chancellor (Ethan Ray Clark) in real danger.
We’re going to talk about Mariah’s terrifying vow that she makes this week. It is a little scary and could mean danger for the kid.
Mariah Panics on Young and the Restless
This week, Dominic is still with Mariah as she is hustling him away from Genoa City with an imaginary Ian Ward (Ray Wise) along for the ride now and then. Mariah takes a break from driving to rest up and take a nap. She wakes up and panics because she sees that Dominic is gone.
Mariah thinks that Dominic left her, went back to his parents, and doesn’t want to be with her anymore. But then Mariah really wakes up and Dominic is still in the car with her and is also asleep. It turns out that it was a nightmare within a nightmare.
Mariah Copeland’s Terrifying Nightmares and Mental Health Spiral on Y&R
This dream has her panicking, and Mariah realizes that she cannot ever lose Dominic. This is all taking Mariah back to a dark place. She is thinking about how she was taken from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). In Mariah’s mind, that parallels when Dominic was taken from her after she gave birth—even though he is biologically Abby Newman‘s (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) child.
Mariah is thinking back to when a nurse stole her and sold her to Ian Ward as a baby. He then raised Mariah in his cult, The Path. When she was a teen, creepy Ian married her. Thankfully, Mariah was rescued. The marriage wasn’t consummated, and she was eventually reunited with Sharon and they’ve built a good relationship.
In a recent interview, actress Camryn Grimes said that this Dominic kidnapping storyline reminds her of when she first started on Y&R back when she was just seven years old. She said one of her first storylines on The Young and the Restless was when Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) was kidnapped and held for an entire year.
Parallels to Cassie Newman’s Kidnapping and Y&R History
To refresh you if you don’t remember, back in the early ’90s, Sharon’s oldest child, Noah Newman (now Lucas Adams), was born premature and suffered complications. He wasn’t expected to survive. Sharon’s best friend, Grace (Jennifer Gareis), went looking for Sharon’s firstborn child, a little girl named Cassie that Sharon had given up at birth as a teen mom.
Back then, Sharon didn’t know there were twins; that was a whole retcon. Grace thought that if she could find Cassie and bring her back, it would be a comfort to Sharon when Noah ultimately didn’t survive. But then Sharon’s newborn baby, Noah, fully recovered.
Grace decided she was going to keep Cassie for herself and never tell Sharon. In the end, Grace wound up keeping Cassie for a whole year. But at least Sharon got her daughter back, even though Cassie tragically died after a car accident as a young teen.
Mariah’s Chilling Vow to Keep Dominic at Any Cost on Young and the Restless
There are definitely some valid comparisons between what Grace did by kidnapping Cassie and how Mariah has now kidnapped Dominic. Camryn Grimes said in that same recent interview that she’s come full circle. At the age of seven, she played the kidnapped child, Cassie. Now, Mariah is basically in Grace’s shoes as the kidnapper, and Dominic is in Mariah’s place.
Things get a lot scarier this week when Mariah says shocking things while talking to Dominic, who thankfully is still asleep in the backseat of the car. It gets really creepy because Mariah starts referring to herself as Dominic’s mommy.
She says nothing will get in the way of them being together. In fact, Mariah says she will die before she lets anybody take Dominic away from her. That is absolutely terrifying because Devon and Abby are getting help from GCPD Detective Burrow (Matt Cohen), and they are about to be on Mariah’s trail to take back their son.
Abby Newman’s and Devon Hamilton’s Desperate Plan to Rescue Dominic on Y&R
Mariah may panic, and there is no telling what she could do. She may pull a “Thelma and Louise” and drive them off a cliff or into a tree—something crazy like that. Just as she is telling Dominic that she’d rather die than be apart from him, we have Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), Abby, Sharon, and Devon debating whether Mariah is a danger to Dominic or not.
Nobody seems to think that Mariah would really hurt Dom, but they also have no idea what her mindset is at this point because she is in a severe mental health spiral. Mariah’s outlook is that if she can’t have Dominic, then Abby and Devon can’t have him either.
Mariah has completely detached from reality. She thinks that Dominic is really her son. She is increasingly certain that the only way to have a happy life is together as mother and son. If Mariah feels threatened and thinks she’ll lose Dominic, things could get dangerous fast.

Tessa Porter’s Faces a Hard Choice as Her Marriage Crumbles
This week, the detective, Abby, and Devon set a trap for Mariah. Plus, Abby has made a video they are taking public that is a plea to bring Dominic back home to his parents. Devon has all his radio stations playing Tessa’s music, hoping that might penetrate the fog and get Mariah to stop what she’s doing.
Right now, all of them are doing everything they can to save Dominic and get Mariah to back down. Tessa told Abby and Devon that even though Mariah is in pain, she knows what she’s doing is wrong. Tessa is insisting that Mariah is behaving terribly.
To me, it sounds like Tessa is mentally cutting ties with Mariah. She told Sharon she doesn’t know Mariah anymore. Tessa is scared of this version of Mariah and she has to be worried about what she might do to their daughter, Aria Porter Copeland.
The Future of Mariah and Tessa Porter After the Breakdown
It’s clear that Mariah has prioritized Dominic over Aria Porter Copeland, Tessa, and their marriage. I think Tessa is done fighting for her marriage at this point. Mariah kidnapping Dominic has pushed Tessa about as far away as she can get.
She’s going to lean into Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). Eventually, when Mariah comes out of this, she’s going to get help. They’ll clear Ian out of her brain once and for all, but I think it’s going to be too late by then. Tessa will have probably divorced her, taken sole custody of Aria Porter Copeland, and be in a serious relationship with Daniel.
Once again, Mariah is going to have lost her family and she’ll be devastated. It all ties back to Ian and this awful start to her life that was no fault of her own. Mariah may never forgive herself for breaking her family apart while having a breakdown.
Right now, it is very worrisome that Mariah is saying she’d rather die than be apart from Dominic. Once she realizes Abby and Devon are coming for them, she may put her and Dominic’s lives at risk. Mariah is completely unhinged, and since we are in February sweeps, things could get scary soon.

Star Trek’s Most Hated Producer Predicted The Worst Part Of The Franchise
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

Few Star Trek creators are quite as controversial as Rick Berman, who has been accused of everything from persistent on-set misogyny to running the franchise’s Golden Age into the ground with Enterprise and Nemesis. However, for all of his alleged faults, Berman actually predicted very early on what would become the worst part of the franchise: its overreliance on the Borg. Moreover, he implied that if Star Trek couldn’t find anything original to do with these iconic bad guys, they should simply stop being included in future stories.
Berman’s thoughts on this matter are quoted extensively in Captain’s Logs: The Unauthorized Complete Trek Voyages. He was discussing “Descent,” the two-part Star Trek: The Next Generation episode that explored what happened to the Borg after the Enterprise crew returned a Borg with a personality (Hugh) back to the Collective. The executive producer liked how the show used the villains in this ambitious episode, but he specifically enjoyed how they were written so very differently from their earlier appearances.
Star Trek’s Most Two-Dimensional Villains

“I find [the Borg] very two-dimensional in a way,” Berman said. “They are faceless characters without personality and without specific character traits.” While many fans would say this is what makes them so scary (they are basically the closest thing Star Trek has to zombies), Berman thought that their collective nature made them “sort of a one-beat group of bad guys.”
Berman did acknowledge that these “one-beat” villains could be used well in certain circumstances. For example, he noted that “In ‘Best of Both Worlds’ they represented a threat as opposed to characters, and that was a great episode.” This is a fairly astute analysis, really: being a Collective, the Borg were always going to fail at being interesting characters, but they worked astoundingly well as TNG’s first real existential threat to the Federation’s entire way of life.
Borg Of A Different “Hugh”

For Berman, the episode “I, Borg” (where a captured Borg develops a personality before being returned to the Collective) was something of a revelation. He enjoyed how this story transformed the Borg “into a character” who was “given a personality and something to be sympathetic towards.” He then made a bold statement that would prove weirdly prophetic: “My only interest in the Borg is when they’re used off-center in other than the way they were originally conceived.”
While Berman may have loved how different the Borg in “Descent” were, that sentiment wasn’t shared by most of the fandom. Many missed the cybernetic zombies that had first scared them in episodes like “The Best of Both Worlds,” finding them far more frightening than the group of angry, screaming cyborgs in “Descent.” Accordingly, Star Trek: First Contact brought the Borg back more or less as they were, with one twist: the addition of a Queen.
The Worst Of Both Worlds

Unfortunately, this ended up being “the worst of both worlds” from a creative standpoint. The Queen was (as confirmed by Brannon Braga and other Star Trek creatives) primarily added to give the Borg a recognizable figure who could both speak and be spoken to; that made for more compelling filmmaking than having characters like Picard and Data talk to the formless voice of the Collective. But the very idea of an individual queen went against the Borg’s whole deal, irking fans who wished these villains had stayed consistent.
Speaking of consistency, Star Trek never really made any major changes with the Borg as a whole after this. Sure, the Queen still popped up, but for the most part, the Borg were back to being robot zombies. As Rick Berman predicted, constantly using the Borg without making any substantive changes eventually provided diminishing storytelling returns.
Kissing The Borg Goodbye?

For example, they popped up so much in Voyager (a show that eventually added a Borg officer) that their appearances stopped feeling special. They popped up in Enterprise and, somewhat inexplicably, every single season of Star Trek: Picard. Heck, that show even made the Borg (complete with their unkillable Queen) the final Big Bad, signifying to fans that the writers had really and truly run out of ideas.
Rick Berman’s prophecy came to pass: the Borg remained one-note bad guys until the very end, never again receiving a character change as significant as what we saw in “Descent.” They were transformed back into a reliable bad guy, but one that ultimately became reliably boring. Now that the franchise has moved into the 32nd century, we can only hope the Borg never pop up in Starfleet Academy; otherwise, the iconic race might have to get several passionate lectures on the evils of cultural assimilation, punctuated by quippy phrases like “Resistance ain’t futile, bruh” and “assimilate this, b*tch!”
Can the Collective be defeated by pure, undiluted cringe? Here’s hoping we don’t have to find out!

‘Tombstone’ Changed Doc Holliday’s Real-Life Quote and Made Val Kilmer’s Scene Even Better
Tombstone is simply one of the greatest Westerns ever made. There’s no question about it. From the dynamic characters and the witty dialogue to the incredibly well-paced action sequences and historical accuracy (well, some of the time), the picture is just a masterclass in filmmaking, particularly of the Western genre. Whether you love the film for Kurt Russell‘s ability to drive the narrative forward or the countless one-liners that cannot be beat, there’s a clear reason that Tombstone continues to find an audience over 30 years later. But there is one line that the late Val Kilmer‘s Doc Holliday speaks in the film that is slightly changed from the history books — and believe it or not, the movie does it far better.
‘Tombstone’ Reworked Doc Holliday’s Famous Quote — and We’re Not Complaining
One of the greatest gunfights in all Western cinema, Tombstone‘s most pivotal moment is its adaptation of the historic “Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.” If you have ever been to Tombstone, Arizona to see the reenactments of the epic battle for yourself, you’re likely aware that the 1993 picture gets most of it right. Sure, there is some Hollywood embellishment here, and it may not be as accurate as, say, Kevin Costner‘s Wyatt Earp, but for the most part, Tombstone does a decent job. Case in point, according to an 1881 newspaper article’s account of the infamous gunfight, Frank McLaury crossed Fremont Street just in time to shoot at Holliday. The Doc pursued McLaury, and both he and Morgan Earp fired on the Cowboy. Still, McLaury got the drop on Holliday, stating, “I’ve got you now.” In return, Holliday replied, “Blaze away! You’re a daisy if you have.” Afterward, both Doc and Morgan Earp shoot and kill McLaury in the street.
Admittedly, it’s not a bad line, but Doc’s scripted words in the 1993 movie are far more threatening than they sound in the historical account. In the film, these events still take place in largely the same way, with McLaury (Robert John Burke) getting the drop on Doc. In fact, the battle between them ends the same way too, with Doc and Morgan (Bill Paxton) both shooting McLaury simultaneously. The only difference here comes in Holliday’s cool reply to the outlaw. “You’re a daisy if you do,” Doc says, right before firing at McLaury, who quickly falls dead.
There’s no denying that the Tombstone remixed version of the line just sounds cooler than the actual historical account, even if the real Doc Holliday’s attitude in the face of danger was something to admire. The way Kilmer speaks these words, with full confidence despite one of his sidearms being out of bullets, is exactly what makes this so effective — not to mention highly quotable. While “You’re a daisy if you have” isn’t bad, the scripted “You’re a daisy if you do” is both simpler and far more interesting. Considering Frank McLaury is instantly killed for his troubles, Doc makes good on the line, which comes across far more easily than the words the real Holliday spoke over a century ago.
Kurt Russell May Have Saved the Movie, but Val Kilmer Is What Makes ‘Tombstone’ Iconic
It’s long been said that Kurt Russell essentially directed Tombstone, and while the particulars of that statement are still heavily debated, nobody denies his importance in seeing the film through to completion. However, for as much as Russell was responsible for the final project, Val Kilmer was equally crucial to the picture’s success. Nobody played Doc Holliday quite like Kilmer, though others played the role well. Going above and beyond, Kilmer made the part his own, emphasizing all of Doc’s clear vices and historical troubles with a clear dramatic flare unmatched by any of his (just as capable) co-stars. It’s no wonder that Doc is the most quotable character in the picture, and even some of his throwaway lines have taken on new life through fans who simply cannot get enough of the Western. We certainly can’t.

Shaq Clocks AI Post Claiming Courtside Link-Up With Woman
Chile! Artificial intelligence is moving fast, and social media is struggling to keep up. But not Shaq! A recent courtside moment had timelines buzzing, jokes flying, and plenty of people fooled at first glance. That is until Shaquille O’Neal himself stepped in and reminded everyone that not everything you see online is real.

Flirty Courtside Photos Spark Buzz—Until Shaq Shuts It Down
A 19-year-old woman set Threads buzzing after posting what appeared to be photos of herself sitting courtside next to Shaquille O’Neal. The images showed the NBA legend smiling beside her in one shot and leaning in close as if whispering something in her ear in another. She paired the post with a flirty caption, writing, “Got the opportunity to sit courtside with Shqq” followed by, “What do you think he was telling me?”
At first glance, plenty of people took the images at face value, speculating about what Shaq could’ve possibly been saying and joking about the unlikely courtside pairing. But the fun didn’t last long. Shaq himself hopped into the comments and immediately clocked the post as fake, responding bluntly: “Uh no u didn’t” and “Shaq has a beard dummy.” That one sentence was enough to send the internet spiraling back through the photos with a magnifying glass.
Fans Call Cap And Clock AI
Over in The Shade Room’s Instagram comment section, fans wasted no time clocking the situation. Some pointed out that the woman technically wrote “Shqq” and not “Shaq,” joking that she left herself a little wiggle room. But, others sounded off on how AI is getting scarily realistic and harder to spot by the day. Meanwhile, plenty applauded Shaq for speaking up and not letting the post slide, saying he shut it down before the internet could run too far with the mess.
One Instagram user @maggiewheeler_ said, “That’s scary 😭”
This Instagram user @gabanact added, “That’s why she said she was with Shqq 😂 read lol“
And Instagram user @sirestodance wrote, “She did exactly what she knew she needed, and it worked😂😂”
Meanwhile, Instagram user @kingali claimed, “That’s Shqq not SHAQ!“
Then Instagram user @_chokhilate said, “😂😂😂😂😭😭 I screamed so loud. He said stop lying rn“
While Instagram user @ shared, “When I get caught cheating im gonna blame its AI because this shi look realistic af 😩”
Finally, Instagram user @that.dee.girl commented, “He said IKYFL😂”
Shaq Stays Busy Debunking Viral Speculation
While the moment was good for laughs, it also highlights a growing issue celebrities are facing as AI technology becomes more advanced. For Shaq, the speculation just adds to a long list of moments he’s had to publicly shut down. Last year, he denied romance rumors after appearing in a photo from OnlyFans model Sophie Rain’s 21st birthday party. When speculation took off, Shaq didn’t mince words. He made it clear he doesn’t date that young and addressed the situation directly in since-deleted comments.
Before that, he also denied being the man in a viral NSFW photo circulating on Instagram and later shared by TMZ. The image showed a woman posing in front of a very large man with his face cropped out, leading many to assume it was Shaq based on his build. He quickly shut that down too, commenting under a repost, “Nope not the kid.”
