Toto Wolff has delivered an emotional farewell message to Lewis Hamilton following their final race together at Mercedes in Abu Dhabi, describing it as “the most important message I’ve ever sent.”
The Mercedes team principal marked the end of Formula One’s most successful partnership with a heartfelt voice recording released on Monday.
The message came after Hamilton’s last race for Mercedes on Sunday, where the seven-time world champion admitted it had been an emotional affair.
The pair’s 12-year collaboration, which yielded unprecedented success in Formula One, will conclude as Hamilton prepares to join Ferrari next season.

In his poignant voice message, Wolff reflected on their historic journey together: “The moment is here we all knew was coming.
“We’ve raced the last lap. The longest and most successful partnership in Formula One history.”
The Austrian team boss emphasised the importance of finding the right people in one’s journey.
“Find your people, not just the ones who work with you or sign your contract,” Wolff said in the recording.
“The ones who dream with you, who fight with you, who have your back and your ear.”

He concluded with a touching promise: “Whatever the future holds, just remember, we will always be your people, because every dream needs a team.”
Wolff joined Mercedes in 2013, the same year Hamilton made his move to the team.
Together, they forged one of the most dominant partnerships in Formula One history, with Hamilton securing six world championships with Mercedes.
The team’s success extended beyond driver titles, as they claimed eight constructors’ championships during their time together.
