With the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund withdrawing financial backing from LIV Golf after the 2026 season, everyone is wondering what’s next. What’s next for the breakaway league? And what’s next for its marquee players, namely Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm.

This week at LIV Virginia, Rahm said he didn’t “see a way out” of his current contract with LIV, which goes for several more years. As for DeChambeau, whose contract ends after the 2026 season, he told several outlets, including ESPN and Sports Illustrated, that he’s prepared to focus on growing his YouTube channel while playing in the tournaments that “want him” should LIV go away. DeChambeau admitted that his team has spoken with the PGA Tour but would not divulge the nature of the talks. The two-time U.S. Open champion told Skratch it would ultimately be up to the PGA Tour members to decide if they want him to come back.

Golf Channel’s Gary Williams joined the latest episode of the Subpar podcast to discuss where LIV goes from here and whether or not he thinks DeChambeau is serious about focusing on YouTube and playing the four majors.

“No, not in full,” Williams told co-hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz. “He’s being him. He’s also the guy who, when he was ascending, got maniacal about long drives and started participating in long drive contests. Which people were going, that is going to be debilitating to you actually putting scores in a box. No, he will not do that.”

Williams noted it would be “disappointing” if DeChambeau chose to prioritize YouTube over competitive professional golf since he is currently in the middle of his major championship window.

“It’s funny that he’s suggesting [focusing on YouTube],” Williams said. “If he does do that, it’s disappointing in this respect — I give him immense respect for this: he has figured out Augusta National to a degree, where he had almost no idea how to solve that Rubik’s Cube. He contends in almost every major. … He is always going to be a factor at a U.S. Open. He’s likely always going to be a factor at a PGA. He is as much of a sure thing to be on the first couple of pages of a leaderboard at a major championship. I give him credit for that. But he’s not going to do that, and if he does do that, he won’t continue to contend in major championships. That’ll be too bad because major championship prime windows are not as long as people think they are.”

When Brooks Koepka left LIV Golf to return to the PGA Tour last December, DeChambeau had all the leverage in contract negotiations with LIV and the PIF. Now that the PIF is out of the equation, Williams sees the PGA Tour as the only option for DeChambeau. The leverage he once had is gone.

“But what’s happened to him, my analogy in terms of what he thought he had to play with was, the Yankees and the Dodgers are both bidding for him and now the Dodgers are no longer interested,” Williams said. “That’s the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. So are the Yankees, the PGA Tour, going to bid against themselves? No, they are not.”

Alex Fitzpatrick is on one heck of a heater.

Just two weeks after dramatically earning his PGA Tour membership by getting up-and-down on the final hole of the Zurich Classic with his brother Matt to earn his membership, and a week after earning a top-10 in his PGA Tour debut as a member, Fitzpatrick holds the 54-hole lead at a PGA Tour Signature Event.

The younger Fitzpatrick brother is on the brink of earning his second PGA Tour win and first as an individual, all without taking a break to celebrate his first. Fitzpatrick was scheduled to play in last week’s DP World Tour event, but his T9 earned him more money than even winning in Turkey and should he hold the lead this week he would earn $4 million.

But there’s plenty of star power looking to foil his dramatic three-week run. Last week’s winner and reigning Players Champion, Cameron Young, is just two shots back, while two-time major winner, including at Quail Hollow in 2017, is five back.

Fitzpatrick will go off in Sunday’s final group at 1:45 p.m. with fellow rookie Kristopher Reitan.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was in full flow for Rajasthan Royals in a 230-run chase against Gujarat Titans. The teenager slammed a six off Mohammed Siraj on the first ball he faced, and then went on to hit two sixes off Kagiso Rabada. Then, in the third over, Sooryavanshi unleashed three fours off Siraj. It looked like Sooryavanshi was having a cakewalk against the experienced Siraj, but the veteran India pacer struck back. It was a bouncer at 146.6 kph as Sooryavanshi rushed onto his shot. The ball took the top edge and flew to the right of short fine leg, where it was caught by Arshad Khan. Before the delivery, GT coach Ashish Nehra could be seen gesturing to Siraj about playing smart and implementing the plan. After the wicket, Siraj roared with fury.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scripted history in men’s T20 history, shattering records by becoming the fastest and youngest player to reach 100 sixes, in just 29 innings. He also set a record for the fastest player to reach the milestone in terms of balls faced, getting there in just 514 deliveries.

RR’s young batting sensation achieved this feat in his side’s Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Jaipur on Saturday night.

Facing Mohammed Siraj, Sooryavanshi began aggressively, launching the very first delivery he faced for a massive six over long-on.

He maintained his attacking intent throughout the powerplay, racing to 36 off just 16 balls with three fours and three sixes in a blistering cameo at the top of the order. However, Siraj eventually struck back to have the final word in an entertaining duel.

Sooryavanshi has been the leading run-scorer for Rajasthan Royals in the 2026 IPL season, amassing 440 runs in 11 innings at an impressive average of 40.00 and a blistering strike rate of 236.55. His tally includes one century and two half-centuries.

Coming to the match, fluent fifties from captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, along with a late flourish from Washington Sundar, guided GT to a massive 229/4 in 20 overs against RR at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.

Put in to bat by RR’s stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal, stepping in for the injured Riyan Parag, the Titans were propelled to a 200+ total by fifties from captain Gill (84 off 44 balls), Sudharsan (55 off 36 balls) and a late cameo of 37* off 20 balls from Sundar.

The Minnesota Vikings swung a trade involving talented edge rusher Dallas Greenard during the NFL Draft. They used the 98th overall pick acquired from Philadelphia on safety Jakobe Thomas. The money they saved in trading Greenard was essentially allocated to sign Jauan Jennings.

It’s a nice little come-up for a team backed against the salary cap. The reality, though, is that the removal of Greenard leaves a little bit of a gap on the edge rushing front. Dallas Turner plays a specific role in Brian Flores’ defense. He will take over for Greenard, but is not a fit to play the Andrew Van Ginkel spot.

Depth Questions Still Hover over the Vikings EDGE Rushers

Minnesota utilized a strategy in which pass rushers got to the quarterback, mitigating their cornerback depth a year ago. They are a bit deeper in the secondary this time around, but additional depth on the line makes a good deal of sense.

Van Ginkel missed five games last year. Hopefully, the neck injury is behind him, but he will be 31 years old this season. Turner looks ready to rock, but he hasn’t been fully given the reins at any point in his career. Bringing in one more veteran to rotate through the group up front makes a good deal of sense.

It remains to be seen what the leftover free agents are looking for. Joey Bosa is a big name still on the open market, and maybe his price has diminished with the dropoff in production. Yetur Gross-Matos is a couple of years younger, but may command a premium. There are also a plethora of other options further on down the line.

Right now, the depth chart looks to have Tyler Batty and Bo Richter as the next men up behind the starters. Both have flashed at times during preseason action, but it would seem like a stretch to ask either for consistent production if they were thrust into a starting role. The more internal depth the Vikings can muster, the better off they should feel about contingency plans.

With Turner ready to step into a starting role, he could truly be the next in a long line of heralded Vikings pass rushers. We have already seen the impact that Van Ginkel can make when he’s right. There’s a lot to like about the starting duo, but there are some serious questions about the talent behind them.

Derek Chisora was ringside to witness the incredible battle between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley.

Dubois recovered from two early knockdowns to stop Wardley in round 11 of an epic clash to win the WBO heavyweight title at Co-Op Live in Manchester.

A number of big names from the boxing world were in attendance to witness the showdown, including Chisora, who until his recent retirement was one of the contenders in the heavyweight division.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Chisora heaped praise on Dubois for his performance.

“Daniel got dropped in the first round and I said ‘he’s winning the fight.’ Everyone around me looked at me like ‘what?’ Guess what he did? He f**king won the fight.

“He bit down on his gumshield and carried on… Daniel boxed amazing. He was getting hit but there was no quit in his eyes.”

While Chisora was extremely complimentary of Dubois, he was less positive about Wardley, as ‘Del Boy’ listed the mistakes that were made.

“Fabio was not ready for boxing. There was no jab, nothing. Looking for power shots. It was like he didn’t train. He was too busy commentating. Little b**tard. He was supposed to train in the gym.

“How many jabs did Fabio chuck? He didn’t chuck no jabs, he didn’t do anything we’ve seen before. He was supposed to work his jab, but he was not working his jab.”

After claiming the dramatic win, it was revealed that Dubois has signed a rematch clause with Wardley. With the Ipswich man likely to need plenty of time for rest and recovery after the defeat, many are calling for Dubois to instead defend his belt against Moses Itauma.

The Cup Series heads to its second road course of the season with the 2026 Go Bowling at The Glen on Sunday. UFC 328 culminates in a title-fight double-header tonight, as Khamzat Chimaev and Joshua Van defend their belts in Newark, New Jersey.

In the main event, Chimaev puts the middleweight title on the line for the first time, taking on former champion Sean Strickland after a tense build-up, which spilled over into violence at Thursday’s press conference.

The unbeaten Chimaev is a comfortable favourite here, having dominated Dricus Du Plessis to win the belt in August, after “DDP” twice outpointed Strickland.

And in the co-main event, Van makes his first defence of the flyweight strap, as he defends it against Tatsuro Taira – five months after winning the belt in unique circumstances, when Alexandre Pantoja suffered an injury early into their fight.

Daniel Dubois won a chaotic instant classic with Fabio Wardley on Saturday night, climbing off the canvas twice to win the WBO heavyweight title.

Wardley dropped his fellow Briton with perhaps the second punch he threw, before putting Dubois down again in the third frame. At that juncture, a victory for the 28-year-old seemed beyond improbable.

But Dubois, a former IBF champion, finally silenced the longstanding questions about his heart to turn the tide. He gradually dismantled Wardley, 31, whose nose was a bloody mess and whose right eye was close to shutting.

After the referee seemed to consider stopping the bout a few times, he ultimately awarded Dubois an 11th-round win in Manchester. With that, Wardley was beaten for the first time.

“I know I’ve got heart, bundles of heart,” said Dubois in the ring after the fight. “I’m a warrior in there. [The first knockdown was a] flash knockdown, you have to get back up and come back harder, man. I’m a warrior. I thank Fabio for a great fight, man. I thank this team, and we move on now. All glory to God for this victory.”

Wardley thanked the crowd on his way out of the arena, before Frank Warren – who promotes both men – revealed there was a rematch clause in the contract for Saturday’s main event.

The result marked Wardley’s first loss (20-1-1, 19 KOs), as he was beaten in his first defence of a world title. Last time out, in October, he fought from behind to knock out Joseph Parker and win the interim WBO heavyweight belt – which was soon upgraded when Oleksandr Usyk vacated the official title.

Meanwhile, Dubois (23-3, 22 KOs) entered the Co-op Live arena on the back of his second stoppage loss to Usyk, which was his third defeat overall. Dubois’s only other loss was a prior stoppage by Joe Joyce, in which “Dynamite” took a knee after suffering an orbital fracture – a moment that birthed a longstanding doubt about Dubois’s heart.

Those questions were harsh, however, as Dubois proved on Saturday, by rising twice and withstanding Wardley’s best offence to secure the unlikeliest of victories.

Wardley dropped the Londoner with practically the second punch he threw, an overhand right, before flooring Dubois with a one-two in the third frame.

But thereafter, Dubois gradually broke down the Ipswich boxer, aggravating a pre-existing nasal injury to leave Wardley’s face streaming with blood. Furthermore, Dubois – whose left eye looked close to closing – almost punched Wardley’s right eye shut.

The referee had Wardley inspected by a ringside doctor at the start of round nine (for his nose) and round 10 (for his eye), but both times the champion was allowed to continue.

Perhaps that was unwise, as Wardley had begun to sustain increasingly-severe punishment, with Dubois close to sealing a finish at the end of several rounds.

Ultimately, the stoppage came after Dubois’s first meaningful attack in the penultimate frame, as he became a two-time world champion.
