Bachelor’s Madi Prewett Finds It ‘Easy to Submit’ to Husband

Madison “Madi” Prewett preaches submission in her marriage to husband Grant Troutt.

“I say often, like, when you love God the most, then you can love your spouse the best,” Prewett, 30, said on the Tuesday, June 2, episode of Jennie Allen’s eponymous podcast. “It’s so easy to follow him because of how he follows Jesus.”

She continued, “I am a strong personality, but it’s so easy to submit to him because of his submission to Christ, and so, I just trust the spirit on the inside of him and we just have a respect for each other and a seeking of the Lord ourselves that it’s like constantly like, ‘Hey, what do you feel like God’s laying on your heart?’”

The Bachelor Nation alum and Troutt, 30, have been together since 2021, getting married the next year after a whirlwind engagement. Upon their nuptials, Prewett has been vocal about supporting her spouse.

“I learned a lot about being a submissive wife, [which] was a challenge for me at first,” she said on a December 2025 episode of her “Stay True” podcast. “Now, it’s, like, my favorite thing. I love talking about submission.”

Prewett quickly clarified her comments after sparking online backlash.

“When you [often] hear that word, you think of it meaning that if you’re a woman, that it means oppression and that you have no voice and you are silenced and you are controlled,” she explained on a follow-up podcast episode. “When you hear that word, I think it can strike a lot of different feelings. That is in no way of how I meant it of what the Bible is saying nor in how we live. Our marriage dynamic is not like that in any way.”

She continued, “It’s not exercising this dominant power and authority … over someone. It doesn’t mean that the wife is weak or passive or has no voice or is not equal with the husband. That’s not at all what submission means. Nor is it what we believe submission means when it’s talking about that in the Bible.”

Ben Higgins has thoughts about fellow Bachelor Nation alum Madi Prewett’s intentions to be a “submissive wife.” Higgins, 36, explained that he and wife Jessica Clarke listened to the episode of Prewett’s “Stay True” podcast where she made the controversial comment. “It was said on a podcast. It was kind of a quick comment. Jessica […]

According to Prewett, Troutt is “the spiritual leader” of their home.

“When I think about it, Grant is the provider and protector of the home,” she explained at the time. “I get to come under his care in a way that’s not like, ‘Oh, I have to,’ but in a way where I feel safe. … For me, there’s this respect and this honoring that I give Grant, not because I have to, because it’s the way in which God calls us to and in the way that I truly have found to feel the freest and the most content in our marriage.”

Prewett and Troutt expanded their family in January 2025 when they welcomed daughter Hosanna, which further impacted their relationship.

“My marriage looks different. I mean, so much changed at one time and that was really overwhelming,” she told Allen, 49, during Tuesday’s podcast appearance. “Something that grew so much for me, and Grant can testify to this, was [that] I didn’t get those long times in the word like I used to, but what I started doing was memorizing chunks of scripture because I had my Bible or my phone by me while I was breast-feeding … that I was able to just like sit there and meditate on scripture.”

Kelsea Ballerini Is ‘Reconnecting’ With Her ‘Independence’

Published

Kelsea Ballerini Says Shes Reconnecting With Independence

Kelsea Ballerini isn’t afraid of reinventing herself — both on stage and off — and her current chapter in New York City is just the latest example.

“I’ve always wanted to have a little New York moment,” Ballerini, 32, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Amplify Your Ambitions Singing Concert & Competition, presented by SoFi, in Nashville on Thursday, June 4, while kicking off the 2026 CMA Fest. “I’ve always romanticized that, and I never knew if music would bring me up there or some part of my job, but … after putting out [my album] Patterns and then the Mount Pleasant EP, I was like, ‘OK, I’m gonna just step away for a second. I need a shift.’”

Ballerini added that she was ready to have her “Carrie Bradshaw moment” — and city life is living up to her wildest expectations.

“I have a stoop!” she gushed. “I sit out on it every night. Glass of wine, and I’m just people watching with my little podcast. It’s so nice.”

Ballerini noted that her time in NYC will only end up being a “little chapter,” but it’s already “been really fun.” She’s also learned a few valuable lessons since settling in.

“I think it’s reminding me to stay really open in life, that you never know when you can make a new friend, and you never know when you can reconnect to your independence, and what that can look like in different seasons,” she told Us. “And I think I’m still on my journey to find the best dirty martini in the city, so I have two months left to find it.”

For Ballerini, the move from Nashville marked a special milestone.

“I’ve been in Nashville since I was 15, and so all my friends are here, my family is here in Knoxville,” she said, “so this is the first time that I’ve kind of done something truly on my own, and it feels exciting.”

Her inner circle, of course, includes other women taking the country music scene by storm. When asked which fellow artist will always be there for her no matter what, Ballerini named Carly Pearce.

“I think there’s such [a] beautiful camaraderie between all the women [in country], there really is, and I can say that genuinely,” she explained. “But Carly and I are sweatpants friends, like, we kick it, you know?”

Last month, fans saw rising star Ella Langley thank Ballerini on stage at the 2026 ACM Awards while accepting her Female Artist of the Year trophy. Looking back at her own career, Ballerini opened up about the importance of paying it forward to other artists.

Exes Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes Are 'Not Back Together' Despite NYC Hangout

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes are “not back together” despite a recent hangout in New York City, multiple sources tell Us Weekly exclusively. “There’s always a feeling of unfinished business with them, and both feel it’s hard to fully close the door on the relationship,” one source explains to Us, noting that there haven’t been […]

“I think in every stage of your career — in every career, but I can speak to mine — it is so important to ask questions and find mentors and people that just can come alongside you and grab onto you and hold you up and push you forward,” she told Us on Thursday. “For me, I remember … God, this was, like, 12 years ago now. ‘Love Me Like You Mean It,’ my first single was not even top 40 yet, and Taylor Swift tweeted about it, and it changed my life.”

Ballerini continued, “Since then, Faith Hill has become such a warm voice to me, and Wynonna [Judd] has let me truly sit on her couch, and be like, ‘What am I doing with my life?’ And Karen Fairchild, and Alison Krauss, and Trisha Yearwood. They have carved such a path in this industry, and to be able to have them to look forward to really excites me to hopefully do the same.”

As for her own next steps, Ballerini teased that she’s “lucky enough to be a part of quite a few collaborations” in “a couple different genres” that she’s “really excited about.”

Like always, fans can expect to hear Ballerini share her vulnerable side through her lyrics — but maybe less so online following her split from ex Chase Stokes.

“I think in music it’s the safe place to have that forum to say all the things that are worth celebrating, and some of the things that you’re like, ‘Oh gosh, this is so embarrassing,’ or whatever it is,” she told Us. “As I’m getting older, I’m learning that I just want to keep it in my music now, and the rest of my life I just get to, like, hide out in NY.”

Ballerini was back in Nashville on Thursday as SoFi hosted the live finale of its Amplify Your Ambitions Contest at Analog at Hutton Hotel. The nationwide competition — created in partnership with Ballerini and the Country Music Association — spotlights emerging artists and helps address the financial barriers that can stand in the way of building a career in music.

After performing in front of Ballerini and other judges, Karen Hardy was named the winner, earning a grand prize of $200,000. Runners-up Shantania and The Kentucky Gentleman were each awarded $50,000.

Ahead of the contest, Ballerini gushed all about her partnership with SoFi.

“What’s really incredible about this Amplify Your Ambitions [contest is] we have narrowed over 500 submissions down to three artists, or three acts, and they’re all incredible. I think about 12 [or] 13 years ago when I was waiting for that first break, and you’re investing so heavily in yourself, especially financially. It takes a lot. The winner’s gonna get $200,000 and the two other artists are gonna get 50,000 and that is life-changing money to invest into yourself and your life and your career. It’s one of the reasons that I really do love partnering with SoFi. They are always helping their members try to move forward and invest back into themselves.”

Unrated, Pitch Black Comedy Uses Saw Logic To Win An SUV

Unrated, Pitch Black Comedy Uses Saw Logic To Win An SUV

By Robert Scucci
| Published

In the Saw movies, a very simple formula is followed: a group of people wake up in captivity and have to complete a series of sadistic games in order to be let out alive. Of course, I’m grossly oversimplifying the premise, but that’s all I really need to know so I can compare the horror franchise to the 2021 Canadian comedy, Stanleyville.

There is one important distinction that completely separates Stanleyville from the Saw movies, however: everybody participates in the games voluntarily, and they’re doing it to win an SUV. We get five people, all of whom want to win a new SUV, showing up to play a series of bizarre games that make no sense at first, but become downright horrifying once more context is established.

Stanleyville 2021

It’s worth noting that Stanleyville is not a horror movie. It’s a straight-up comedy, one that thrives on each character’s quirks and idiosyncrasies. Every single person here, sans our protagonist, is absolutely insufferable, and if I’m being honest, it’s hard to like our main character too. But you eventually warm up to her. Kind of.

Jigsaw Is A Much More Intimidating Name Than Homunculus

When we’re first introduced to Maria Barbizan (Suzanne Wuest), it’s hard to size her up. A hawk flies into her office building’s window and dies in front of her, prompting her to leave work, abandon her family, throw out her money and cell phone, and take a trip to the airport with no real plan in mind. She’s approached by a man calling himself Homunculus (Julian Richings), who offers her a spot in his competition, giving her the date and time she needs to show up.

Stanleyville 2021

Upon arrival, Maria is acquainted with arrogant trust-fund baby Andrew Frisbee Jr. (Christian Serritiello), exercise and supplement addict Bofill Pancreas (George Tchortov), flamboyant eccentric Manny Jumpcannon (Adam Brown), and Felicie Arkady (Cara Ricketts), who is so in it to win it that you don’t want to get on her bad side. Or her good side, for that matter. Just stay away from Felicie. That’s my advice.

Each round of the “competition” escalates from blowing up balloons or creating a fully functional telecommunications device in less than 14 hours to writing a national anthem for the entire world or cutting off somebody’s earlobe.

Stanleyville 2021

Maria, who’s not really interested in the first-place prize but instead searching for a deeper purpose in her life, successfully creates a communications device using a conch shell, from which a disembodied voice tells her how to proceed. As the competition moves forward, however, some of the advice comes across as equal parts hostile and cryptic.

Set ‘Em Up, Knock ‘Em Down

As much as I wanted to love Stanleyville for its characterization and oppressively sparse setting, I still felt like something was missing. The ending is ambiguous, leaving the whole thing open to interpretation, but even those interpretations leave a lot to be desired. Consumerism is wrecking us. You can’t self-actualize if you’re trapped in the rat race. Blah, blah, blah. These are all great messages to consider, but I felt robbed of a meaningful payoff because it just… kind of ends.

Stanleyville 2021

I truly enjoyed spending time with every single character because they’re all so unhinged in their own charming way, but part of me wishes we had more time to explore their relationships with each other throughout the competition. For what it’s worth, every character brings their A-game, and you don’t necessarily need a satisfying payoff to enjoy spending time with them under the oddest circumstances.

As of this writing, Stanleyville is streaming for free on Tubi.

Ryan Lochte’s Girl Wants Honesty After Past Drug Use

Ryan Lochte‘s girlfriend, Molly Gilihan, has the swimmer’s back 100%. In a new interview with Sean Hannity, Gilihan shed light on their headline-making relationship and also discussed how they’re moving past the swimmer’s previous drug use. According to Gilihan, her primary focus is honesty and transparency.

Gilihan spoke with Hannity about the “life [Lochte] was living” before they got together, saying the Olympian used to deal with “so much shame.” Continuing, Gilihan said that getting high was the only thing that made the swimmer feel better.

While Lochte has been open about his sobriety journey, Gilihan said that she wants complete honesty from her boyfriend should he ever find himself struggling with drugs in the future. “I just want to make sure he never gets to that point again, where he feels like he has to hide anything from me,” she said.

She added, “So, if he ever gets to the point where he wants to go out with a buddy and there’s cocaine there, and say he even does it, I want him to come home and tell me, and we tackle it together.”

That wasn’t all Gilihan had to say. Elsewhere in the episode, she said she feared Lochte one day lying about potential struggles. “What scares me is him hiding it from me and thats what I’ve expressed,” she said.

According to Lochte, though, lying isn’t an option. “I don’t hide anything from her. She’s my best friend. We have an open phone policy. We have nothing to hide,” he told Hannity.

As the episode continued, Lochte said that he “never had” an open phone agreement with his estranged wife, Kayla Reid Lochte.

Don’t forget, in the summer of 2025, Kayla filed for divorce from her estranged husband, claiming it was one of the “hardest decisions” she’s had to make.

“I hold marriage in the highest regard, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing, and challenging seasons of my life. I’ve been hesitant to share until I could do so from a place of healing — not from fresh, open wounds,” she wrote online, according to The Blast.

She added, “I’ve come to the understanding that staying isn’t always the most loving decision someone can make. For me, leaving was an act of love — for those around me and for myself.”

According to a previous report from The Blast, Lochte opened up about pursuing sobriety after a previous car accident left him dealing with “depression, loneliness and feeling like I was giving up in life.”

He later revealed that he checked himself into a Florida recovery center. “The staff has been incredible. They helped me realize substance abuse isn’t a solution. It’s just a distraction that makes things worse,” he added.

His confession came weeks after Kayla said her estranged husband had an alleged “history of substance abuse.”

She also claimed that she once found “mostly empty baggies of cocaine” around their shared home, including in their children’s bedrooms and bathrooms.

Lochte’s reported struggles will be detailed in his upcoming tell-all memoir. In December 2025, the swimmer revealed that he was working on the project to inform the public about the man behind the medals.

“I went from a single guy who only cared about surfing and hanging out with his friends and family, who had barely kissed a girl until I was in college — I know — to becoming one of the world’s most eligible bachelors,” he said in a video, per The Blast.

“The parties, the glam, the celebrities, the life most people couldn’t fathom. I was on top of the world, and in an instant, I became the most hated person in the world,” he continued.

Before Lochte’s recent appearance on Hannity’s show, the swimmer had made headlines after it was revealed that he had taken an assistant coaching position at a Missouri college for $34/hour.

The reported $30,000 contract will run from August 2026 to June 2027 and also features bonus opportunities, such as an extra $750 for a Conference Championship and $500 for NCAA Championship qualifiers.

‘Santa Clause’ Star Makes Surprising Admission About Paychecks

David Krumholtz at New York Premiere Of 'Lorne'

For many fans, “The Santa Clause” is a Christmas staple that returns year after year during the holiday season. But for David Krumholtz, starring in the beloved franchise apparently does not translate into massive paychecks. The actor, who famously played Bernard the Head Elf in Disney’s 1994 holiday hit and its 2002 sequel, recently revealed the surprisingly small amount he now earns in residuals from the fan-favorite films.

Speaking to Page Six during the press day for “Are You Now or Have You Ever Been” on May 26, Krumholtz explained why his residual checks from “The Santa Clause” franchise are nowhere near what fans may expect.

“They’re minimal because the movie plays so much,” he said. “This is how residuals work: every time it plays, you make less. It’s a grade scale.”

Krumholtz, who is now 48, starred as Bernard the Head Elf in the original 1994 movie alongside Tim Allen before returning for the 2002 sequel. Though he did not appear in the franchise’s third film, released in 2006, he later reprised the role in Disney+’s “The Santa Clauses” series in 2022.

According to the actor, the residual checks were once much more rewarding. “When I first got residuals from ‘The Santa Clause,’ it was good,” he explained, before estimating that he now makes roughly “$150 bucks a year” from the massively successful holiday franchise.

‘Oppenheimer’ Now Pays More Than ‘The Santa Clause’

Despite appearing in one of Disney’s most beloved Christmas films, Krumholtz admitted he currently earns more in residuals from a much more recent project: Christopher Nolan’s 2023 blockbuster “Oppenheimer.”

The actor, whose resume also includes “10 Things I Hate About You,” the “Harold & Kumar” franchise, and the CBS drama “Numb3rs,” joked about just how modest those checks are, too. When asked how much Oppenheimer brings in, Krumholtz initially laughed off the question. “That’s none of your business! What kind of question is that?” he joked before adding, “It’s $12.73. It’s enough to buy a hot dog in New York.”

David Krumholtz Reflects On Career And New Role

Krumholtz is set to appear in the upcoming “Supergirl” film and will also star in the New York City Center revival of “Are You Now or Have You Ever Been.” The production draws from original transcripts from the House Committee on Un-American Activities hearings in the 1940s, when artists were questioned over alleged ties to the Communist Party.

Krumholtz portrays comedy writer Abe Burrows, the famed “Guys and Dolls” writer and father of legendary television director James Burrows. Reflecting on Burrows’ controversial role during the hearings, Krumholtz acknowledged the complicated circumstances many artists faced at the time.

“It’s essentially cancel culture in those times,” he said. “If someone was attempting to cancel me today for what I felt was an unjust reason, I suppose I’d do anything to get out of it. I love acting, and I love my career. I need it.”

Krumholtz also made headlines last year after revealing he “almost died” following a frightening health battle linked to marijuana use. Speaking to Page Six at the time, the actor said he resumed smoking marijuana after taking “a long break” before eventually becoming “a daily smoker.”

However, Krumholtz said the habit ultimately led to a diagnosis of cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS), a rare condition that can trigger repeated and severe vomiting episodes and is most commonly associated with long-term, frequent marijuana use.

“It’s rare, [but] it’s becoming more and more prevalent yearly, like, numbers are doubling every year,” the “Are You Now or Have You Ever Been” actor explained.

The actor also suggested the increasing strength of modern cannabis products may be playing a role in the rise of cases. “Essentially, they messed up weed. They made it too strong, and they don’t know why it’s happening,” he said. “There’s a lot of theories.”

At the time, David Krumholtz described the ordeal as so severe that he believed he “almost died,” using his experience to raise awareness about the condition.

Karen Read Breaks Silence Amid Police Departments Lawsuit

Published

on

Everything to Know About RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah's Legal Drama

Karen Read has broken her silence after she filed a lawsuit against the Massachusetts State Police and Canton Police Department after she was deemed innocent of killing her late boyfriend, John O’Keefe.

Read, 46, appeared on the Today Show on Tuesday, June 5, to reveal her goals for the lawsuit. She was joined by her attorney, Alan Jackson, who explained she’s seeking more than financial damages.

“What Karen wants, you cannot write on a check, which is exposure,” he said. “Exposure of the corruption that is the DNA of the Massachusetts State Police and the Canton Police Department.”

Read filed a lawsuit in Bristol Superior Court on Thursday, June 4, in which she claimed that her 2025 trial for the second-degree murder of O’Keefe, 46, revealed “an (embedded) culture of bigotry, misogyny, systemic failures, and institutional rot at the very core of both organizations,” according to court documents.

A jury found Read not guilty of O’Keefe’s murder after her first trial in 2024 resulted in a mistrial after a hung jury.

With her new lawsuit, Read said she is fighting against ways in which she believes she was wronged during her past trials.

“This was always our plan, that I had to save my own life first,” she said. “I can’t do anything if I’m not free. I had to fight for my freedom for years, and I knew as it unfolded I was never going to be able to just forget that this happened to me, that I was wronged in this way. I couldn’t just go back to life as it was. I have to continue fighting for justice.”

She added that the “acquittal is deserved, but the wrongs have not been completely righted.”

“They have been happening along the way, but I always knew this was going to happen if I could get the help legally to do this,” Read said.

O’Keefe died of blunt force trauma to the head after he was found mortally wounded on the lawn of the home of now-retired Boston police sergeant Brian Albert on January 29, 2022.

Read was accused of driving her SUV into O’Keefe while intoxicated and leaving him to die in a blizzard. She denied the allegations.

She was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene, and the jury only convicted her of the lesser charge of driving while intoxicated.

In the June 4 filing, Read shared disturbing voicemails, text messages and other communications between lead investigator Michael Proctor and former Canton police Sgt. Michael Goode as evidence. Neither person has been named as defendants in the lawsuit, and they both no longer work at their police departments.

Meanwhile, the Canton Police Department issued a statement about the lawsuit on its Facebook page, saying that the town “has not been served.”

Heather Locklear is opening up for the first time about her romance with Lorenzo Lamas.

“My new guy is very … everything,” Locklear, 64, said during an appearance on the Monday, June 1, episode of the “Hollywood & Divine” podcast. “I’m just like, when I tell this person I love him, I’m really saying, ‘I love you, God.’ Because that’s what happened. It’s from God.”

The Melrose Place alum added, “I’m [in] the best time [of my life].”

Lamas, 68, and Locklear first crossed paths in 1983 when they posed together in swimwear for Playgirl magazine. (Locklear was starring on Dynasty at the time, while Lamas starred on Falcon Crest.)
