Jason Statham in A Working ManImage via Amazon MGM
2026 hasn’t exactly been a picture-perfect start to the year for Jason Statham, especially after his first action movie bombed at the box office under the weight of its $50 million budget. Statham will have a chance at redemption this August for another action thriller, Mutiny, which co-stars Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders). As part of our Exclusive Preview Event here at Collider, we recently debuted a hot new image from Mutiny ahead of its August 21 release date. Statham will also return to his signature role as Adam Clay early next year in The Beekeeper 2, which is a direct sequel to the 2024 action smash hit directed by David Ayer. Ayer is not returning to direct The Beekeeper 2 due to a prior commitment to helm Heart of the Beast, an action thriller starring Brad Pitt and J.K. Simmons.
While it didn’t reach the same level of success as The Beekeeper, another Statham-led actioner that found its niche in the last few years was A Working Man. The similarities between A Working Man and the first John Wick movie are eerie — both films feature former high-level operatives called back into the life they once left behind, and both are painted as almost mythic figures against the backdrop of their stories. A Working Man grossed $89 million at the box office against a $40 million budget, and following a successful run on VOD, the film was added to Prime Video and Amazon MGM+ last year. Recently, A Working Man landed on HBO Max in global territories, where the film has not-so-quietly become one of the top 10 most-watched titles in more than 25 countries around the world.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned Your Perfect Partner Is…
Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.
Rambo
Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.
James Bond
Advertisement
Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.
Indiana Jones
Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.
John McClane
Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.
Ethan Hunt
Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

What Is Jason Statham’s Next Movie About?
Jason Statham’s next movie, Mutiny, is coming to theaters around the world on August 21. The film follows Cole Reed (played by Jason Statham), a man who is set up to take the fall for the murder of his billionaire boss, who was killed in front of him. This leaves him on the run and out of options as his enemies close in around him. Mutiny was directed by Jean-François Richet, who famously worked with Gerard Butler on the 2023 action thriller, Plane. If Mutiny is anything like Plane, Statham fans will be on for a treat come August.

One of the most addictive genres on television remains science fiction. From space stories to technology thrillers, the genre has provided an opening for viewers to tap into worlds far removed through stories rooted in science. Now, some sci-fi films are so brazen and fantastical that we know they can’t be real. They play by their own rules. But for hard sci-fi, they use elements grounded in facts.
When it comes to hard sci-fi, Apple TV has a handful of series that are near perfect. From journeys into space to adventures before the surface, the streamer has hosted some gripping shows that leave us never wanting the story to end. The six titles on this list will scratch the sci-fi itch while keeping you entertained with authentic scientific elements.

‘Constellation’ (2024)
Noomi Rapace and James D’arcy in the Constellation finaleImage via Apple TV+
Even though a show is canceled after a single season, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. It just means the right eyes weren’t on it. Such is the case for the near-perfect single season of Constellation. Created by Peter Harness, Constellation follows the events of an unidentified object that collided with the International Space Station, leading to the death of one of the five astronauts aboard and crippling most of the onboard systems and one of the Soyuz descent modules. A physics experiment called CAL, or Cold Atom Lab, designed to study quantum states where objects can exist in two places at once, was running at the time of the catastrophic event, causing the surviving astronauts and cosmonauts to swap places with their mirror-universe doubles. In one reality, it’s Jo Ericsson (Noomi Rapace) who died in the collision. In the other, it’s Paul Lancaster (William Catlett). The mind-bending sci-fi psychological thriller explores quantum superposition, parallel universes, and the simultaneous acceptance and adaptation to the new entangled reality.
Constellation is a series unlike any other. It’s not always the easiest to follow, requiring viewers to focus and not use it as background noise. In turn, the mind-bending narrative taps into an unpredictable puzzle that leaves you guessing throughout the eight episodes. A visually stunning series, Constellation has no shortage of zero-gravity sequences and spacewalks that make you feel as if you’re up in the stars. Constellation is also filled with sensational performances, namely from Rapace and Jonathan Banks as Henry and Bud Caldera, mirror-universe counterparts. Constellation uses legitimate scientific concepts, including the observer effect, to explain phenomena such as the multiverse and parallel realities. Then, add in the practical psychological horror of the trauma from long-term spaceflight, and the narrative feels authentic. Constellation traps everyday astronauts in a scientifically explainable but terrifying phenomenon.

‘Dark Matter’ (2024–Present)
Image via Apple TV
The multiverse conceit continues to be a messy but often-used narrative tool that provides for great entertainment. In the series Dark Matter, it serves as the central device that propels the plot. Created by Blake Crouch, the enthralling thriller follows Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a Chicago physicist who is abducted and thrust into the multiverse. He wakes up in alternate realities where his life choices went differently, and he must fight his way back home through a labyrinth of parallel worlds to save his true family from the most dangerous foe imaginable: himself. A deeply character-driven love story set within a high-stakes multiverse thriller, Dark Matter explores the roads not taken, challenging viewers with a core question: Are you happy in your life?
Based on Crouch’s own book, Dark Matter is precisely plotted, ensuring the magic and heart are present in the adaptation. Further, his ability to keep scientific elements within the fantastical premise keeps viewers engaged. Dark Matter uses real quantum mechanics, particularly Schrödinger’s cat and superposition, as the framework for the plot. Giving audiences something tangible lends itself to seamless storytelling that doesn’t pull the viewer out to question the implausible things. Dark Matter features remarkable performances led by Edgerton and carried through by Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, and Jimmi Simpson. Edgerton’s ability to navigate his characters, separating regular-guy Jason from ruthless Jason, carries the series to glory. Dark Matter may very well be a sci-fi show, but its human story is the reason to tune in.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated You’d Survive In…
Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion
The Matrix
You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.
You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland
Mad Max
The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.
You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049
Blade Runner
You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.
You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis
Dune
Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.
Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Star Wars
The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

‘For All Mankind’ (2019–Present)
Mireille Enos in For All MankindImage via Apple TV
Advertisement
Imagine a world in which the United States lost the space race. It might be hard to believe, but then For All Mankind told us what that alternative history might look like. Created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi, the series explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. The premise begins in 1969 when the Soviet Union successfully lands the first man on the Moon, dealing a devastating blow to the United States and intensifying the Cold War. By changing a single significant historical event, For All Mankind creates a massive butterfly effect, featuring rapid technological innovation, political intrigue, and an optimistic vision of human perseverance.
For All Mankind is a brilliant “what if” drama. Across each season, the series organically leaps about a decade forward, showcasing how that inciting event reshaped reality. In turn, it forces characters to age, evolve, and adapt to new eras of technology and global politics. For All Mankind is rooted in character-driven drama, centered on human ambition, sacrifice, and the emotional toll that space exploration and grueling career choices take on the astronauts and their families. The hard science comes in as For All Mankind changes events, but not the science itself. The series, among other things, delves into real-world orbital mechanics, engineering, and physics that govern humanity’s expansion into space. A bingeable epic, For All Mankind is a brilliant alternate-history season that is so good you get more from a different perspective:Star City.

‘Foundation’ (2021–Present)
Lee Pace as Day pressing his hand to a bloody stomach wound in the Foundation Season 3 finale.Image via Apple TV

Predicting the future may yield grim outcomes, leading to further destruction to prevent imminent doom. That’s the basic premise of Foundation. Based on Isaac Asimov’s novels, the three-season series follows mathematician Hari Seldon, who invents “psychohistory,” a mathematical science capable of predicting the behavior of massive populations and charting the future of the galaxy. In turn, it predicts the inevitable fall of the Galactic Empire. To prevent a 30,000-year dark age, he leads exiles to establish “the Foundation” to preserve humanity’s knowledge and rebuild civilization. The tyrannical ruling dynasty attempts to crush the Foundation, viewing it as a threat to their absolute power. Successfully adapting Asimov’s “unadaptable” novels, Foundation is rooted in grounded, emotional narratives with rich world-building and hard science.
The century-spanning story centers on the conflict between the ruling imperial Genetic Dynasty via the clones of Emperor Cleon (Lee Pace) and the Foundation, including Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell), a prodigy who helps develop the plan, and Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey), the warden of Terminus, as they navigate the predicted fall. The series relies heavily on the tension between science and faith, the nature of power, and the question of whether historical events can be altered. With Asimov’s invention of psychohistory, Foundation has, well, a foundation on which to stand.Having a meticulous, predictable, mathematical science at its core, there is great freedom to build a detailed, multi-generational galactic history. It may not be instantly familiar, but it swiftly becomes accessible. With breathtaking cinematography, Foundation is an intelligent and entertaining series.
2
‘Invasion’ (2021–Present)
Mitsuki kneels down to talk with Aneesha in Invasion Season 3, Episode 9.Image via Apple TV
Advertisement
And now it’s time for some aliens! Created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil, the multilingual format Invasion tells the story of an extraterrestrial threat to Earth’s existence, told through the eyes of ordinary people around the world. Rather than focusing purely on military battles, the show explores human relationships, fear, and survival during an extinction-level event. In New York, the Malik family fights to survive both the alien chaos and collapsing societal norms. Then there is Mitsuki Yamato (Shioli Kutsuna), a communications specialist for the Japanese space agency, who searches for answers regarding a lost spacecraft; Caspar Morrow (Billy Barratt), a bullied schoolboy in London on a field trip that takes a dangerous, mysterious turn; and Trevante Ward (Shamier Anderson), a U.S. Navy SEAL whose unit is ambushed in the Middle East. A tried-and-true character-driven drama that spans multiple continents into a harrowing tale, Invasion captures the raw, psychological terror of a global catastrophe.
Invasion smartly focuses on humanity over spectacle. That said, the visuals’ cinematic quality, atmospheric score, and international locales give the series a theatricality that feels like a global event. A slow-burning series, Invasion is one for patient people. The story allows its characters and narrative arcs to develop fully over multiple seasons, giving it a truly episodic vibe. While there is great mystery surrounding the extraterrestrials, the characters’ arcs are heavily rooted in the scientific process and deep personal grief rather than fantastical technology. Everything found inside Invasion is methodical, giving the show a more psychologically grounded science-fiction survival-story epic. There may be aliens, but Invasion is a refreshing people-first thriller.

‘Silo’ (2023–Present)
Rebecca Ferguson Apple TV Silo Season 2Image via Apple TV
Advertisement
It pains my soul to say Silo is only near-perfect, but compared to Severance and Pluribus, it’s a notch below. Nevertheless, it remains one of the greatest shows on the streamer. Created by Graham Yostand based on the Silo trilogy of novels by Hugh Howey, the series is set in a dystopian future where a community lives in a giant underground silo with 144 levels. The residents are governed by strict rules and believe the outside world is a toxic, ruined wasteland. Engineer Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) becomes embroiled in the mystery of the past and the present as she seeks to uncover the dark, murderous conspiracy behind their existence. A brilliant mystery box that continues to expand the universe’s lore season by season, Silo is a fight for survival after a lie to survive.
Instead of relying on magical or futuristic technology, the show grounds itself in realistic mechanics, sociological theory, and the harsh, immutable rules of a confined, dystopian environment. And this society is no cakewalk to live in. The psychological effects of scarcity, resource management, and how totalitarian surveillance and history-erasure can shape a closed population over centuries are central to its narrative. Despite being a future-set thriller, science falls into the past. Due to the lack of technological evolution, the denizens of the silo use our modern technology in their future dystopia — steam, generators, heat dissipation, and the brutal physics of moving up and down the massive structure — making it appear as a mind-bending juxtaposition. Come for the intriguing story, stay for the top-rate ensemble, featuring Rashida Jones, David Oyelowo, Common, Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, and more. Silo is a great example of why hard science is such a necessary genre within the sci-fi umbrella.
Anime has grown into a force to be reckoned with in the past few years, with series like Jujutsu Kaisenand Demon Slayerdrawing in audiences week after week. Actors like Michael B. Jordanand Timothée Chalamethave publicly expressed their love for anime classics like Narutoand Yu-Gi-Oh! Even streamers are getting in on the anime craze, as Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece has become just as much of a hit as the original anime. However, it turns out that one anime series has reached a new level of popularity, and proven its naysayers wrong in the process.
This anime is Solo Leveling, which just trumped its competition in one major arena. According to a report, Solo Leveling has surpassed 1 million ratings on Crunchyroll, making it the most watched anime series on the platform. Furthermore, 95% of these ratings are at the 5-star level, which proves that fans can’t get enough of Solo Leveling. Part of this success is thanks to the fact that Crunchyroll is the only streaming platform where fans can watch the series. The rest lies in the premise of the anime and the original webtoon novels by Chugong and Jang Sung-rak, which takes place in a world full of magic and monsters.

‘Solo Leveling’ Has A Premise That Makes It A Must-Watch Anime
Image via Crunchyroll
Solo Leveling is centered around a society of hunters, who use their supernatural abilities to protect humanity from eldritch abominations. Hunter Sung Jin-woo, after surviving a near-fatal battle that wipes out a group of his fellow Hunters, is selected by a magical program called “The System” which allows him to increase his abilities with every monster he slays. What makes this noteworthy is that each Hunter is born with base abilities that they can’t increase, making Sung Jin-woo special. If the idea of a teenage demon hunter becoming more and more powerful wasn’t enough of a draw, Solo Leveling also boasts some gorgeous animation and epic fight scenes courtesy of A-1 Pictures. Anime fans might recognize A-1’s work from other beloved anime series like Fairy Tailand Black Butler, which adds an extra level of prestige to Solo Leveling.
Despite Solo Leveling‘s increase in popularity, there’s also been an equal amount of backlash. Most detractors often point to the fact that Sung Jin-woo easily wins every fight he enters, or that he lacks the personality of other beloved anime protagonists. Others say that while it might not be an isekai story, it carries the tropes that have run that genre into the ground. These detractors are missing out on the fact that what they see as less than desirable elements might appeal to other fans, and from the Crunchyroll ratings it seems like a lot of fans enjoy this series for going so over the top. An argument could also be made that other iconic characters like Batman and James Bond serve as power fantasies, which proves that some things are truly universal.
The Pop is only available for a limited time, so get your pre-orders in now!

‘Solo Leveling’ Is Growing Into A Blockbuster Franchise
Although the original Solo Leveling novels have wrapped up, the series is continuing to thrive in multiple ways. Season 3 of the anime is currently in production, while a sequel novel titled Solo Leveling: Ragnarokwas released in 2023 to the same critical acclaim as its predecessor. Perhaps the biggest news is that Solo Leveling will be receiving a live action adaptation from Netflix, starring Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jin-woo. Considering the massive success that Netflix’s had with the live-action One Piece and Korean-language programming after Squid Game‘s blockbuster ratings, it’s no surprise that the streamer would want to adapt such a popular series. It would also give Netflix a leg up on Crunchyroll, and Solo Leveling fans another version of their favorite story.
Solo Leveling growing into the most watched anime of all time on Crunchyroll is proof that the anime business is here to stay. It also shows that the “next big thing” isn’t always what you expect.
Brandi Glanville is opening up about another painful chapter from her split with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian. The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star recently claimed she had to spend more than $10,000 in legal fees just to retrieve her own retirement money after their divorce, alleging the process dragged on for nearly a year. Glanville made the revelation during a recent episode of her podcast, “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered,” while reflecting on the financial complications that followed her highly publicized split from the actor.

According to Glanville, tensions escalated when she attempted to retrieve her 401K during divorce proceedings. On her podcast, the reality star claimed she “had to hire a lawyer to get my own 401K back” from Cibrian, whom she divorced in 2010 after eight years of marriage.
Glanville alleged the “Sunset Beach” actor “was trying to keep it” and claimed he made the process far more difficult than expected. Speaking to co-host James Maas, Glanville said the ordeal ended up costing her more than $10,000 and took nearly a year to resolve. “He’s like, get a lawyer, and so I did,” Glanville said.
The reality star explained that she ultimately had to obtain a qualified domestic relations order (QDRO), a legal process used to determine how retirement accounts, pensions, and 401Ks are divided during a divorce.

Glanville Says Other ‘Housewives’ Should Learn From Her Experience

Glanville also suggested she may soon be facing another legal dispute, hinting at an ongoing issue she expects could require hiring an attorney. “I’m going to have to get a lawyer to fight, which is so ridiculous. I don’t want that for anyone,” she said.
The Bravo alum used her own experience as a warning to fellow Housewives navigating relationships and finances. “That goes back to Housewives, they’re all getting divorced and half of them don’t even have a 401K,” Glanville said. “Get your sh-t together ladies. Know where the money is,” she added.
Glanville shares two sons with Cibrian: Mason, 23, and Jake, 19.
Eddie Cibrian Left Brandi Glanville Following Affair With LeAnn Rimes

Glanville and Cibrian’s split made headlines after the actor began a relationship with singer-actress LeAnn Rimes following their affair on the set of the 2009 film “Northern Lights.” Cibrian later married Rimes in April 2011.
Years after the breakup, Glanville reflected on learning about the affair in a 2021 opinion piece, admitting the discovery was devastating. “There was video footage of them kissing over the table,” Glanville wrote at the time. “It was devastating. I went straight home, passed out in my closet, cried and cried.”
“He tried to convince me it wasn’t real, but I knew it was over,” she continued. “They were sucking on each other’s fingers in the footage, yet he was telling me nothing was happening.”

Brandi Glanville Says She Always Suspected Something Was Wrong

Looking back, Glanville admitted she had long suspected something was happening between Cibrian and his co-stars. “I’d sometimes visit him on set and notice chemistry with certain co-stars,” she wrote. “I’d ask him if something had gone down, but he’d tell me I was crazy. He’d say I was jealous and that he loved me. Then I’d think it was my fault, that I really was being crazy, but in my gut I knew I was probably right.”
Despite everything that unfolded, Glanville previously admitted the breakup shattered plans she once thought would last forever. “Eddie and I were together for 13 years and married for eight,” she wrote. “We always promised each other that we would never get a divorce and that we’d love each other when we were old.”
Brandi Glanville Says Her Facial Parasite Has Returned

Glanville has also continued to battle an ongoing health scare that she says remains unresolved. During the same episode of her podcast, the former reality star revealed that the facial parasite issue she previously believed had improved has seemingly returned. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me, guys,” Glanville admitted. “I thought I was fixed, and then it happened again, and now it’s sinking in again.”
The 53-year-old expressed frustration over her ongoing search for answers, explaining that despite seeing countless specialists, she still has no clear diagnosis or long-term solution. “If I had answers, I would tell you. I’ve been to a million doctors,” Glanville said.
According to Glanville, the only things that appear to offer relief are sunlight, parasite medication, and sticking to a strict diet. “The only thing that really seems to help is being out in the sun and the parasite medication and the parasite diet,” she shared. “And I don’t have answers. Is there a doctor that specializes in parasites? ‘Cause I can’t find one.”

“It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn’t do anything,” Owens toldTexas Monthly in 2021 of meeting the gymnastic icon during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. “We used it to get to know each other — really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now, I’m so thankful.”
Biles and the pro football player ultimately tied the knot in 2023 after three years of dating, soon becoming one another’s biggest supporters.

“It is not much motivation you need to do, just because you don’t want to put extra, added pressure on anyone. I just tell her, ‘Go do your thing, baby,’” Owens exclusively told Us Weeklyin July 2024 about attending Biles’ gymnastic meets. “You get a different type of focus whenever you just have this one person that you’re focusing on.”
Simone Biles has her husband Jonathan Owens’ back — no matter what NFL team is listed on his jersey. “No Friday the 13th scaries here,” Biles, 28, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, March 13, reposting the news that Owens, 30, signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts. “So proud of you, baby. […]
According to Owens, Biles also made him a better athlete.
“I’ve played a lot better since [meeting Simone],” he gushed to Us. “I’ve just been focused and locked in, and you come home, talk about my day and play with the dogs, you know what I mean? That’s just kind of, like, our thing.”

Owens, who has not publicly addressed Biles’ recent health scare, signed to the Colts in March after previous stints with the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, respectively.
“Hey ya’ll, it’s Jai here from the original Queer Eye, or maybe 20-some odd years ago you remember it as being the Queer Eye For The Straight Guy,” Rodriguez, 46, shared in a video uploaded to TikTok on Friday, June 5. “It was the first major show on Bravo and my successor, Karamo, who I love and adore, just did a big interview that I deeply resonated with. Deeply resonated with.”
“Everyone would just say, ‘Well, that’s just that person,’ instead of saying, ‘This behavior does not fly in a professional environment,’” Brown claimed. “It impacted me negatively, consistently.”
Karamo Brown is ready to open up about his experience filming Queer Eye with his Fab Five costars. In a new interview, Brown, 45, described a work environment filled with alleged bullying and poor behavior. “Everyone would just say, ‘Well, that’s just that person,’ instead of saying, ‘This behavior does not fly in a professional […]
He continued, “I was depressed. It felt shameful because I was teaching people that they could be better, but in my own life, I was trapped.”

On Friday, Rodriguez told his followers that he was making a video “in support of” Karamo and “all Queer Eye folk who have ever been a Fab Five person” in the United States.
Honestly unless you were one of us y’all never really know what happened bts. Much love and respect for @Karamo and his journey sharing his truth. #queereye
“I think it’s important to share that unless you worked on the show as a Fab Five member, you’ll never know the actual story and, to date, none of us have ever written a tell-all or told our stories as honestly as Karamo did,” he added. “It just hasn’t happened. And, um, I have the utmost respect for Karamo sharing his truth. I’m sure in the next month, years, whatever, more people will share tales of their journeys and some may shock you, and some may not.”

He continued, “But I think what is undeniable and what I love that Karamo emphasized is that at the end of the day, cast members came together to make sure that the hero, the person we were making over — in the 100 episodes that we did in the original cast, and the 10 seasons the new cast did — that all the folks that we made over were seen, respected and elevated and loved and cared for. And it really took a family to do that, and families can be dysfunctional.”
Rodriguez went on to share on Friday that even a TV family isn’t immune from the dysfunction of a typical family dynamic.
“I really did always assume that I would be the one to write a tell-all of the experience, because I feel like I can be the most honest and have nothing to lose and [am] fair and metered,” he added. “But I’m still so thankful that Karamo opened up that door of honesty because families are messy, and if it’s a TV family you don’t get a pass — you are still gonna be messy.”
He concluded, “Messy is also a big word, but I’m just so proud of him. So proud of him. I felt… yeah. Also bitch, did you change your number because I texted you. Let me know.”

Rachel Brosnahanand Jason Ralphcelebrated 10 years together after weathering the actress’ viral Superman scandal.
“10 🤍,” Brosnahan, 35, succinctly wrote via Instagram on Saturday, June 6, sharing a carousel of throwback wedding portraits from their intimate ceremony and tagging Ralph’s own account.
The actress’ Superman costar Maria Gabriela De Faria celebrated the couple’s milestone in the comments section, writing, “Not an easy thing to achieve in this world ❤️. All the happiness to you both.”
Michael Kushner, for his part, replied, “It was an amazing day ❤️❤️.”
She’ll always have Midge! After Rachel Brosnahan and the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel cast wrapped the fifth and final season, the leading lady intended to fondly remember her time playing Miriam “Midge” Maisel. “Oh yeah, this is a set full of kleptos. We took everything that wasn’t nailed down,” Brosnahan, 32, quipped during a Thursday, April 13, appearance on Live […]
Brosnahan and the status of her marriage raised eyebrows last summer after she starred opposite David Corenswet in DC’s Superman. In a behind-the-scenes clip from the film, Brosnahan appeared to keep kissing Corenswet, 32, after a crew member clearly called “cut,” ending the scene.

Fans swiftly began debating the viral footage, even questioning how healthy Brosnahan’s relationship was with her husband.
“It’s genuinely sad to see your career being tucked out to be remembered as a cuckold because your wife couldn’t handle herself with her co-actor. Like bro,” one fan told Ralph, 40, via Instagram comment. “Let’s have some self love and stand up for yourself man, leave her to be with him if she wants that much at the end of the day.”
Ralph subtly “liked” the message but did not publicly address the situation head-on. Brosnahan also never addressed the controversy.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star and Ralph have been together since 2013, meeting on the set of I’m Obsessed With You. Brosnahan, however, had no interest in dating Ralph when she was a coworker.
More important than God! The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Rachel Brosnahan opened up about the relationship between Midge and Lenny — and revealed what she loves most about the fan favorite pairing. “That relationship has evolved in ways, that as fans will know, I never could have expected. And in fact, I was told was never gonna happen,” Brosnahan, […]
“It was a hard no for me,” she quipped toTown & Countryin 2022, further joking, “Stay away, stay away. OK, fine.”

“I’ve been quite private about my personal life for a few reasons. The first being that it’s just that … personal,” she told Peoplein 2019. “Jason and I also noticed early on that, while we are both the leads of successful television series, he has almost never been asked about our relationship while I have been asked on almost every red carpet I have walked in the last 2 years. We both find this double standard problematic and frustrating and opted to redirect those conversations to our work.”

Ralph later joined Brosnahan on the set of Maisel ahead of its 2023 series finale.
“I was so intimidated because we haven’t worked together since we met 10 years ago,” Brosnahan told Entertainment Tonight in 2023 of Ralph’s Maisel role. “I was really nervous for him to actually see me doing this up close, and come into my world, but it was amazing.”
In the 1980s, male protagonists dominated TV detective mysteries. Tom Selleck was the epitome of cool on Magnum, P.I., as were Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas on Miami Vice, while Simon & Simon paired Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker together as private investigator brothers. One small-screen detective, however, was not like the others. In 1984, Murder, She Wrote debuted on CBS, starring the near-60-year-old Angela Lansbury in the lead role of Jessica Fletcher. Today, 30 years after its last episode aired in 1996, Murder, She Wrote is still a big streaming hit, now topping the charts on the Apple TV store.
‘Murder, She Wrote’ Embraces a Unique Lead and Setting
TV detective shows often embrace predictable tropes. The lead is often a grizzled cop, a guy new to the force, or a wise-cracking P.I. Sometimes they’re paired with a reluctant partner. Nearly every time, they’re officially employed by law enforcement, have a military background, and use the gun on their hip and physical strength to subdue the bad guys. Murder, She Wrote‘s Jessica Fletcher fits none of these character archetypes.
Rather than being a seasoned detective, Jessica has never worked in law enforcement. Instead, she’s a famous writer of mystery novels and a retired English teacher. Not only is she a widow, but she’s also a strong, independent, and outspoken woman who refuses to be the damsel in distress when things get tough. She’s a bit eccentric, but not in an off-putting way. She’s always kind to her friends and strangers, making her easy to root for. Most compelling of all, Jessica uses what she’s learned from writing mysteries to solve them in real life. Rather than charging into investigations, she uses her disarming nature to interview suspects, then puts the pieces together before leaving it to law enforcement to take the bad guys down.
Another aspect that helps Murder, She Wrote stand out from the rest of the packis its setting. So many TV mysteries take place in New York, Los Angeles, or another big city, but can you really imagine Angela Lansbury taking down gun-toting drug dealers on Miami Vice? Most episodes of the CBS show take place in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine, where Jessica is from and where she has retired to. Cabot Cove is a small, picturesque town, the perfect place to spend your golden years, but there are also plenty of secrets — and murderers — for Jessica to uncover, provided you’re willing to suspend your disbelief about that.

‘Murder, She Wrote’ Is Cozy Despite Its Dark Subject Matter
Despite the darker implications of its premise, Murder, She Wrote is a cozy murder mystery series. In every episode, someone is killed by an unknown figure, and it’s up to Jessica to figure out what happened and who’s ultimately responsible. With a murder having taken place, the stakes are, of course, high, but Jessica’s life never hangs in the balance, and all of this death won’t traumatize her. Instead, it brings out the best of a character who becomes a Sherlock Holmes-type super sleuth. None of this goes to her head, either. Jessica is already rich and famous; now she’s seemingly the best detective in the world. Still, she’s the type of person who cares about her small-town friends more than anything else. Dr. Seth Hazlitt (William Windom) is a dear friend who always has her back and helps her out. So do the local law enforcement bosses, like Sheriff Amos Tupper (Tom Bosley) and later Sheriff Mort Metzger (Ron Masak).
Murder, She Wrote is predictable, but that’s not a criticism. It’s exactly why the series succeeded so many decades ago and why it’s still drawing in viewers today on streaming. It’s the television equivalent of a warm blanket, and a fun escape that doubles as family-friendly entertainment. What’s more is that other quirky, women-led mystery series, like Poker Face and iZombie, might not have ever existed if Jessica Fletcher hadn’t been solving murders in Cabot Cove 30 years ago.
Roommates, Summer Walker has social media in a chokehold this week after a concert clip started making its rounds. And let’s just say…fans got way more interaction than they expected. While the R&B star was doing what she does best on stage, one fan took things a little too far. Now it’s living rent-free on the internet and quickly turning into comedy gold.
Summer added to the viral buzz herself by addressing the clip on social media. Additionally, the singer made it clear she wasn’t bothered in the slightest. She took to Instagram to post the fan’s POV, jokingly captioning it, “We found the culprit. UNHAND ME!” fully embracing the humor of the situation and sending fans into even more laughter over the unexpected interaction.
Fans Demand That Same VIP Experience When They Pull Up
As soon as the clip hit the timeline, fans flooded Summer Walker’s Instagram comment section and immediately had it up from there. Some questioned why her response in the moment looked slightly delayed, while others joked that the fan “wasn’t playing about Summer” at all. A few even said she better be prepared for future tour stops because they paid their tier and expect that exact up-close experience every time.

When The Boyspremiered in 2019, it quickly distinguished itself from the saturated space of superhero adaptations. Instead of celebrating heroes as symbols of hope and justice, the show exposed what might happen if these superpowered individuals were reckless, corrupt, narcissistic, and caught within the machine of celebrity life. Its blend of dark comedy, graphic violence, sharp social satire, and surprisingly emotional character work helped turn it into one of the most influential superhero shows of the modern era.
Fortunately, fans looking for something similar have plenty of options—something that’s especially needed now that the show has officially wrapped after five seasons. While each of these shows take a different approach to the genre, they all share a willingness to explore the darker side of heroism. Some are hilarious, others are heartbreaking, and a few a just downright bizarre. So, even if you’re mad about how The Boys handled their final season or you’re just looking for something to fill the void, these are the best dark superhero shows for those craving more after Vought’s latest scandal.

‘Misfits’ (2009–2013)
A group of young offenders performing community service suddenly find themselves caught in a bizarre storm that grants them superpowers. Unfortunately, they all struggle to understand their new abilities—which becomes a real problem as they get entangled in increasingly troubling situations that involve murder, time travel, and a growing number of equally unstable individuals.
Long before The Boys became television’s go-to deconstruction of superheroes, Misfitswas gleefully tearing apart the genre in its own uniquely British way. For one, the show presents superpowers as something messy, inconvenient, and often downright dangerous rather than aspirational. Add in its dark humor, shocking violence, and morally questionable protagonists and you’ve got something that feels remarkably similar to Erik Kripke‘s creation—especially with it’s hidden exploration of loneliness, identity, and the difficulties of growing up.

‘Doom Patrol’ (2019–2023)

After suffering traumatic accidents that leave them permanently altered, a group of damaged superhumans live together under the care of the eccentric scientist Niles Caulder (Timothy Dalton). But when Caulder disappears, the reluctant heroes are forced out of isolation and into a series of wild adventures that have them confronting reality-warping villains, alternate dimensions, and manifestations of their own emotional trauma.
While The Boys exposed the ugliness behind superheros (and celebrity culture), Doom Patrol takes a different approach by examining the psychological scars that often come with extraordinary abilities. Every member of the team is deeply broken, whether it’s carrying years of guilt, grief, self-hatred, or regret. So, what makes ths show special is its willingness to embrace this vulnerability with the absurdity. One moment they’re fighting a giant rat battling a giant cockroach, the next delivers a devastating exploration of depression and identity. Sure, it’s a little strange, but that’s what makes Doom Patrol one of the most underrated superhero shows ever made.

‘Gen V’ (2023–2025)
Season 2 poster for Prime Video’s Gen VImage via Prime Video
Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), a young supe with the ability to manipulate blood, hopes to become a respected hero by attending the prestigeous Goldolkin University. Unfortunately, she quickly discovers that school is hiding some disturbing secrets tied to unethical experiments and the larger machinery of Vought International—leading to Marie and her fellow students to get caught in the crossfire.
This shouldn’t be surprising. As a direct spin-off of The Boys, Gen V naturally shares much of its predecessor’s DNA. It retains the brutal violence, dark satire, and willingness to expose the corruption lurking beneath carefully manufactured superhero images. What helps it stand on its own, however, is its focus on younger characters grappling with ambition and identity. Rather than relying on non-stop cynicism, Gen V blends its trademark satire with a grounded coming-of-age story. The result? A meaningful expanded universe that only proves how Vought’s influence is even more disturbing than fans initially realized. How this got suddenly cancelled is baffling.

‘Invincible’ (2021–Present)
A wounded and battered Invincible shouts and makes a fist in Invincible.Image via Prime Video
Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) appears to be a fairly ordinary teenager until he finally develops powers inherited from his father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), the world’s greatest superhero. Eager to follow in his footsteps, Mark begins learning what it means to be a hero. However, his life quickly changes when he’s forced to confront the terrifying reality that his father’s legacy was built on deceit and violence.
Anyone who enjoys The Boys because it challenges idealized superhero narratives will find plenty to love in Invincible. The show asks difficult questions about power, responsibility, and heroism while delivering some of the most brutal action sequences ever seen in animation. Yet, unlike other cynical deconstructions, Invincible never loses sight of its emotional core. Mark’s struggle to reconcile his ideals is what gives the show its genuine and tragic heart. It’s one that combines shocking violence with surprisingly thoughtful character work. And we can’t wait for the next season.

‘Peacemaker’ (2022–2025)

Following the events of The Suicide Squad, Christopher Smith—better known as Peacemaker (John Cena)—is recruited for a covert black ops mission targeting a mysterious alien threat known as the Butterflies. Joined by a dysfunctional team of operatives, Peacemaker must navigate deadly confrontations while facing the emotional baggage, toxic beliefs, and childhood trauma that have shaped his life.
At first glance, Peacemaker seems like the last person capable of carrying an emotionally nuanced story. And yet, that’s exactly what makes the show such a pleasant surprise. Like The Boys, Peacemakerembraces outrageous violence, dark comedy, and deeply flawed characters, but it also uses those elements to explore accountability, loneliness, and personal growth. Cena delivers a career-best performance, transforming what could’ve been a one-note joke character into someone unexpectedly sympathetic. Here, his flaws are never excused, and are instead what allows him to evolve in ways that make his journey genuinely compelling. It’s funny, heartfelt, and frequently darker than its colorful exterior initially suggests. Plus it’s got a killer ensemble of characters that make the viewing experience even greater.

You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate — you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.
You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.

You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.
You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless.
