Kathie Lee Gifford Reveals Why She Decided To Be ‘Anti-Religion’
Kathie Lee Gifford has opened up about the reason she is “anti-religion” despite being a devoted Christian.
The 72-year-old tv personality explained that she believes religion can often “put people in chains,” while sharing insights about her beliefs in God.

Kathie Lee Gifford Says She’s ‘Anti-Religion’

Gifford has remained one of the most visible faces of modern Christianity in Hollywood and has lived a faith-based life as long as she can recall.
However, she has seemingly left many shocked by labeling herself as “anti-religion,” explaining that she believes religion can keep people bound.
“The Bible talks about prayer without ceasing. Our life should be nonstop prayer, nonstop conversation, dialogue, and walk with our Lord,” Gifford told Fox News Digital. “It’s not a religion. I am very anti-religion. Religion puts people in chains, and Jesus takes them away. So I’ve always tried to be, and I am, the exact same person.”

The former “TODAY” show co-host has been busy with her advocacy for Childhelp, a charity organization set out to protect vulnerable and neglected children, yet has maintained relevance in showbiz as an actress.
However, she doesn’t believe it means she’s playing on both the spiritual and circular terrain at the same time.
“I don’t separate the secular from the spiritual. I don’t say, ‘Oh, I’m an actress. So that’s my secular life.’ And then I go, ‘and I raise money for Childhelp.’ No, it’s all one life, lived in accordance with God’s blessing, with His, I don’t like to call them commandments, His teaching, His guidance. We live according to that,” she added.

The Actress Relies On Scriptures To Make Decisions

Weighing in on some of the principles she has adopted in running her life, Gifford noted that she sees the scriptures as a guiding light, particularly for issues relating to making decisions and anxiety.
She also explained the reason why she’s so “bold” about her faith, especially in a space like Hollywood where it’s tough to be one.
“Scripture says don’t, don’t worry about anything. Don’t worry about anything. I am with you. I will lead you. I will guide you every day of your life,” she said. “In Him we live and move and have our very being. That means every nanosecond of our lives is in service to our Lord. So I lose sleep because I’m old. Not because I’m worrying about getting something wrong. I pray before I open my mouth, and then I ask the Lord to guide me.”

“People go, I can’t believe how bold you are for your faith,” she added. “I don’t care what people think. I care what He thinks. And a few hands, like maybe two hands full of precious friends who love me. I care what they think.”

Kathie Lee Gifford Has ‘Always Been An Advocate’ For Children

The “Then Came You” actress, who’s set to emcee Childhelp’s Drive The Dream gala in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday, also spoke about her love for giving back, particularly with her advocacy that has helped give countless children’s lives meaning.
“I’ve always been an advocate for children long before I joined Childhelp,” Gifford said. “That’s just been a lifelong thing for me. God loves all the little children. And we’re all made in the image of God, no matter what color we are, no matter where we come from.”
She further stressed that Jesus’ love for children and his belief that “They are the kingdom of heaven” has been the “driving force” for her all her life.
The Actress Says Her Generosity Is Always Rewarded: ‘It’s Scriptural’

Speaking more about her Christian faith, Gifford stated that she believes the more she gives, the more she gets back in return.
The actress stated that it’s a “scriptural concept” that has always worked for her, noting that blessing always follows those who take care of children.
“I pray every day, Lord, give me a generous heart. You know, the more I give away, the more He gives me,” she said. “It’s always been about that. It’s crazy. It works. It’s scriptural. It’s a scriptural concept.”
Gifford continued, “You can never out-give God. And if you love children, and you care for children, blessings will follow you all the days of your life.”

Kathie Lee Gifford Rejected Fame For A More Private Life With Her Family

Gifford was reportedly the one who arranged for her friend Kris Jenner and her family to appear on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” after initially getting an invitation to appear on her own reality TV show.
However, she refused the offer and chose to live a quiet and present life with her family.
“I’m not acting out this life of mine. I’m living it,” she previously told Fox News Digital. “That’s why I said no to a reality series every time it was offered to me.”
She added, “I said, ‘No, I’m in show business, and I chose that as a child. My children didn’t. I’m going to go home to my children and my husband every day and have a life that’s private as much as possible. Keep my children out of it.’”

Kristin Cavallari Sets New Rule For Dating As A Mom

Cavallari opened up about a new non-negotiable in her dating life, shaped by her experiences as a mom.
During a rapid-fire segment on dating preferences, Cavallari said a man who doesn’t have children and doesn’t want them is now a deal breaker for her.
“That’s become a new deal breaker for me,” she explained. “Someone who doesn’t have kids and doesn’t want any, I’m like, ‘You won’t understand my life.’”
Shahi agreed, noting that motherhood expands a woman’s emotional perspective, and a potential partner without children might struggle to relate.

Both women agreed that parenting changes priorities, making such a partner incompatible. Cavallari, 39, shares three children, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor, with ex-husband Jay Cutler.
They were married for nearly seven years before divorcing in 2020.

The TV Personality Revealed A Parenting Wake-Up Call Moment She Experienced As A Single Mom

On the “Let’s Be Honest” podcast, Cavallari also shared a parenting wake-up moment after friends of her sons, Camden, 13, and Jaxon, 11, overheard her discussing adult topics on her podcast with her former partner, Mark Estes.
She called the incident a “real eye-opener” and said it made her reconsider what she shares publicly.
“I don’t care at the end of the day what Jax and Camden think about me. It’s my kids,” she told guest Rachel Bilson. “But I can’t be saying stuff that’s gonna affect them and their friends.”
The “Laguna Beach” star explained she’s since “found this way to kind of say stuff without just saying it.”

Why Kristin Cavallari Broke Up With Mark Estes

In 2024, Kristin Cavallari dated 26-year-old TikTok star Mark Estes, but their relationship ended after seven months.
Sources told Us Weekly at the time that differing long-term goals contributed to the split.
At the time, an insider shared that while Estes wanted to “settle down and start a family,” Cavallari was content with her life and three children, and the 13-year age gap also played a role.
The source added, “As they started to get more serious in their relationship, issues started to surface. They kept having conversations about the future, but weren’t aligned.”

The Reality TV Star Claimed She Only Had One ‘Great’ Date In 2025

During an episode of her podcast, Cavallari revealed she had only gone on one “great” date last year but mostly focused on herself.
“I haven’t been dating this year, you guys. I haven’t been dating,” she said, per People Magazine. “I did just go on a date, and it was a great date … I went on one date. But I was excited to go on a date.”
Cavallari then added, “I’ve needed this year to kind of just focus on myself.”
Despite her claim about not going on dates in 2025, Cavallari had already revealed earlier that she had a brief romance with retired NHL player Nate Thompson.
She described their romance on an April 2025 episode as “the most honest, pure, amazing, quote-unquote relationship I’ve ever had.”
Kristin Cavallari’s Reason For Ending Her Brief Romance With Nate Thompson

Cavallari praised Thompson, a retired hockey player, as a dad and someone who had worked on himself, noting they connected deeply in a short time.
“Honestly, one of the deeper relationships I’ve had, especially in such a short amount of time,” she said at the time.
Their relationship ended in March after Cavallari realized she “just didn’t wanna be in a relationship” at that point.
Cavallari has since admitted that she’s taking a slower approach to dating. The reality TV star reflected on her romantic life, crediting her longtime friend and hairstylist Justin Anderson for providing much of the support she might otherwise seek from a partner.
“Other than sex, obviously,” she joked, acknowledging a lack in that department.

Netflix Turns Jason Statham’s 42% RT ‘Equalizer’ Alternative Into a Streaming Smash
Jason Statham hasn’t exactly started the year on a hot streak after his new movie, Shelter, is struggling to get off the ground at the box office. The action thriller carries a $40 million budget, but it’s grossed only $29 million at the box office at the time of writing. Statham will have a chance to redeem himself later this year when Mutiny comes out this August, though. Over the years, he’s starred in plenty of action hits and misses, so Shelter‘s unfortunate box office failure likely won’t hold him back at all.
However, long before the idea of Shelter ever popped into anyone’s head, Statham starred in a critically panned drug crime thriller that’s finally getting its due on streaming. Statham stars alongside Winona Ryder (Stranger Things) and James Franco (Spider-Man 3) in Homefront, a conspiracy thriller following a former DEA agent who moves to a quiet town to spend more time with his daughter, when he gets tangled up with a local meth drug lord. Homefront has been compared to Denzel Washington’s first Equalizer movie, with both films having similar plots following a retired former operative who is pulled back into the action.
Homefront recently began streaming on Netflix in America, where it’s quietly become one of the streamer’s top 10 most popular movies in the last week. The film earned scores of 42% from critics and 61% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $48 million at the box office against a $22 million budget. Sylvester Stallone wrote the script for Homefront with Gary Fleder directing. Stallone originally wrote the part in Homefront for himself, but he later chose to go with Statham after deciding he was too old for the role.
Does Jason Statham Have Any Other Movies on Netflix?
Jason Statham does have other movies streaming on Netflix, but one of them is confirmed to leave soon. Netflix is removing Snatch, the crime thriller co-starring Brad Pitt, from its streaming library at the end of the month on February 28. Wrath of Man, the 2021 action thriller directed by Guy Ritchie, is also streaming on Netflix right now. It was one of the platform’s most popular movies in January. The fourth Expendables movie has even been confirmed to begin streaming on Netflix later this month, on February 20.
Be sure to watch Homefront before it leaves Netflix, and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.

20 Years Later, Disney’s 151-Minute Adventure Sequel Sails Back Into the Spotlight
Streaming charts have a funny way of resurfacing movies that were always good but didn’t stay in the day-to-day conversation, and for this particular case, despite a billion-dollar footprint. Right now, one Disney sequel is quietly doing exactly that and reminding people what big, clean blockbuster craftsmanship looks like when it’s driven by set pieces, character momentum, and a premise that keeps escalating instead of stalling. It’s also a case study in why length doesn’t automatically mean bloat: this one runs 151 minutes, yet it’s paced like it’s trying to beat the clock.
This movie unleashed a villain so visually convincing and so immediately iconic that the movie’s entire mood shifts the second he enters. The filmmaking is confident, too, with a director who knows how to stage action so you always understand geography, stakes, and the next complication. And audiences showed up in a massive way back in 2006: it was made for about $225M and ended up crossing $1.06B worldwide, the kind of commercial footprint that turns a sequel into an event.
That sneaky sleeper, as per FlixPatrol, is Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, which is currently charting on Disney+’s Top 10 this week — most notably in the United States, where it moved from #9 yesterday and is currently at #10 at the time of writing (with additional appearances in markets like Italy and San Marino). If you’ve ever wondered why Davy Jones still gets cited as a gold-standard blockbuster antagonist (brought to life by Bill Nighy’s performance and cutting-edge effects), the algorithm is basically telling you it’s time for a rewatch.
What’s New With the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Reboot?
The latest, credible signal is still that Jerry Bruckheimer is still steering development and framing the next film as a reboot/soft reset rather than a straight “Part 6.” He’s also said the screenplay is still being worked on (with Jeff Nathanson on draft duty) and that the post-strike slowdown is part of why it’s taking longer to lock. Meanwhile, there’s no solid update on Johnny Depp’s involvement and Margot Robbie being in the orbit.
Depp, meanwhile, after all that controversy and a long hiatus, is set to have a big year with Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol and possibly Day Drinker. The release date for A Christmas Carol is currently stated as November 13, 2026, and the release date for Day Drinker is not yet unveiled. The next couple of months will also either completely open or close the door on Depp’s return for a potential sixth POTC film.
All Pirates of the Caribbean films are available to stream on Disney+. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

More On Victoria Woods’ Spicy Exchanges With Lil Pump, The Game, Finesse2Tymes, Charlamagne Tha God, Gloss Up & Others
As The Shade Room previously reported, Victoria Woods sparked heat with a few other celebrities since going off on her sister GloRilla for alleged financial neglect. Earlier this month, Finesse2Tymes told her to get up off her ass and make money instead of airing out her family’s business. And she responded with her own set of NSFW words.
Subsequently, Charlamage Tha God told her to get a job, and she responded by calling him “sassy.” Furthermore, Boosie also weighed in, explaining that celebrities aren’t as rich as people think, and she clapped back by blasting him as homophobic. Then, she and Gloss Up traded words, and Gloss began selling NSFW T-shirts of Woods, per The Shade Room.
Most recently, Woods said The Game wasn’t a celebrity after she shared that he doesn’t feel GloRilla is obligated to help her. In turn, Game clapped back with a spicy post.
Since then, Woods has shared spicy words for Lil Pump. This, after Pump called her “dumb” and incorrectly claimed that she spent the $2,500 she received from Tory Lanez on a new chain.

Third Reward Demand Says Kidnapper Is ‘International’

Reward Demand Claims Kidnapper Is ‘International’
Published
CNN
Another clue about Nancy Guthrie‘s potential kidnapper is tucked into an email from a man who claims he knows the individual who abducted Nancy … and it sounds like the suspect may have crossed the border.
The latest money demand sent to TMZ ends with this … “for the man hunt of the main individual that can give you all the answers and be prepared to go International.”
It sounds to us like the guy demanding the $100,000 FBI reward implies that Nancy’s kidnapper is hiding out in Mexico.
Nancy was abducted from her home near Tucson, Arizona … and Mexico is a short drive south.
TMZ.com
It’s unlikely the kidnappers would have taken Nancy on a commercial jet … that would require ID and the jig would be up. Plus, a previous ransom note sent by the alleged kidnapper themselves indicated Nancy was within a 700-mile radius of Tucson, which further supports the theory this kidnapper may be in Mexico.
Our sources tell us the FBI is hyper focused on the ransom note we received … and they’re also very interested in this latest batch of emails demanding bitcoin in return for information on Nancy’s kidnapper.
The phrase “the main individual” is also significant … it clearly suggest there are accomplices.

Harvey Levin broke it all down on CNN in a segment Friday evening … check out the clip here for the latest twist in this bizarre case.

16 Shoes Inspired by Valentino’s Rockstud Heels

Studded heels are officially back. Sixteen years after Valentino’s Rockstud heel first hit the runway in 2010 (designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli), the edgy-chic shoe is reclaiming the spotlight. From Dakota Johnson stepping out in the style at the Valentino Haute Couture show to a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser, the pointed pump with signature hardware is once again everywhere.
The original pair will set you back $1,190, but the sharp, polished statement-making vibe is far more accessible than it looks. We rounded up 14 studded heels from Amazon, Nordstrom and Walmart that channel the same glam energy without the designer price tag, so you can tap into the 2010s revival and still have room left in your budget for a matching bag.
16 Studded Shoes Inspired by Valentino’s Rockstud Heels
1. Kitten Kick: If sky-high stilettos aren’t your thing, this 2.5-inch kitten heel delivers the Rockstud vibe in a far more wearable way. Glossy synthetic leather, a pointed toe and polished studs give it a designer feel, while cushioned insoles and a non-slip sole keep things practical.
2. Leg-Lengthener: Two straps, a sharp pointed toe and a 4-inch heel? Consider your legs officially elongated. This bold pair brings full drama with stud detailing and enough stability to make them surprisingly walkable.
3. Open-Edge Glam: This under-$50 find blends elegance with edge thanks to its sleek open-toe silhouette and glossy stud accents. The structured heel and supportive sole make the 4-inch height feel far less intimidating.
4. Fashionable Flats: Give your achy feet a break by investing in studded flats instead of heels. This two-toned, T-strap pair gives off that enviable Valentino vibe and is made from water-resistant faux leather, making it an ideal choice for work or play.
5. Patent Power: High-gloss patent leather and metallic buckles give these pointed-toe heels some serious attitude. Available in nude and black, they instantly elevate denim or finish off a cocktail look flawlessly.
6. Square Statement: Not into ankle straps? This easy slide-on style keeps things effortless. The square toe and block heel feel modern, while the subtle stud details add just enough bite for weddings or special events.
7. Leopard Luxe: Leopard print and glossy studs? Say less. This 3.5-inch Mary Jane pump fully commits to the glam aesthetic, with polished hardware highlighting the cap toe and an adjustable strap for a classic silhouette.
8. Sculpted Chic: Sleek, sharp and currently 41% off, this leather slingback feels especially elevated. The sculptural heel and comfort-focused design make it a smart choice if you want edge without sacrificing wearability.
9. Studded Boot Moment: Who says the trend stops at pumps? Naturalizer’s snip-toe booties feature glossy studs and a subtle flare heel for a cool-girl twist. With a side-zip and built-in comfort technology, they’re ideal for everyday styling.
10: Easy Slides: No offense to that clunky suede slip-on you keep by the door, but this pair of slides might be our new favorite fuss-free shoe. They’re a quick way to add some oomph without messing with straps and buckles, and will no doubt remain in your rotation all spring and summer long.
11. Subtle Spark: If you love the stud trend, but would prefer a softer take, grab Arezzo’s suede slingbacks that keep the studs as a trim detail rather than the main event. Asymmetric straps and a pointed toe give it just enough edge without going full statement.
12. Crystal Crush: This pair leans into glamour with crystal-like studs arranged in a floral-inspired design. Memory foam cushioning keeps things comfortable, while the polished finish makes them feel party-ready.
13. Mesh Maven: Breathable mesh meets metallic studs in this modern, peep-toe silhouette. The ankle strap and cushioned insole provide plenty of comfort, making them perfect for pairing with everything from tailored trousers to a night-out mini.
14. Beachy Edge: For a more relaxed spin on the trend, these wooden platform sandals bring height without the wobble. The open-toe design and metallic studs feel summery and bold — ideal for warm-weather events.
15. Classic Comeback: Available in six colors and priced around $30, this 4.25-inch stiletto delivers maximum impact for minimal investment. The two-tone options make them feel especially eye-catching.
16. Block Heel Bold: A sturdy 4.25-inch block heel and square open toe give Soda’s stylish pair confident energy. Studded straps add just the right amount of attitude, striking a balance between edgy and elegant.

It looks like the biggest break yet in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping … Pima County deputies swarming a home in the Tucson area, and apparently, taking 2 people into custody.
The Sheriff’s Department’s SWAT unit rolled out Friday night in the rain with a huge show of force … first reported by NewsNation’s Brian Entin, whose crew got the video of cops walking out with a man and woman.
The home is about 2 miles from Nancy’s home, and the Sheriff’s Dept came ready for anything — there are reportedly about 2 dozen officers on the scene .. including FBI agents.
Entin says it appears the 2 people taken out of the house are a mother and son.
It’s unclear if the 2 people are suspects or persons of interest … or if they’ve been arrested — but, law enforcement has a search warrant related to the Guthrie case, according to Entin.
NewsNation
A judge apparently issued a search warrant and law enforcement is currently inside the house. NewsNation reports this was all set in motion after cops made a traffic stop of a white van, and the driver has also been detained.
Entin says there was no confrontation at the house … doors were not broken down. He says the 2 people appeared to voluntarily surrender.

Dennis Quaid Opens Up About Finding God in His Marriage to Laura Savoie
Dennis Quaid wasn’t “looking” for romance when he met wife Laura Savoie, but faith ultimately brought the pair together — and God has remained a crucial part of their marriage ever since.
“God is in our relationship. That [had] never even occurred to me before,” Quaid, 71, exclusively shared in the latest issue of Us Weekly while discussing his new film, I Can Only Imagine 2. “I thought, ‘Well, I have a relationship with God, so did she,’ but to have God be the third entity in the relationship is kind of a new idea. But that’s really the way it is.”
The Parent Trap star met Savoie, 32, in Las Vegas and proposed to her in October 2019, tying the knot the following year. Quaid, who was previously married three times before meeting Savoie, explained that the couple’s shared faith is a key part of what helps them maintain a healthy relationship.
“Otherwise you would wind up making the other person,” he explained. “You look to the other person to solve your problems, and we’re not equipped to do that. There’s a lot of things that we have, the baggage coming in [to a relationship], and it’s stuff that you need an expert [to deal with] — and that would be God.” (Quaid was married to P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983, Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001 and Kimberly Buffington from 2004 to 2018.)
While God existing within his marriage is new territory for Quaid, his faith has “always” been with him in both his personal life and professional career. He began his foray into faith-based content with 2011’s Soul Surfer before being cast in 2018’s I Can Only Imagine as Arthur Millard, the real-life abusive father of MercyMe frontman Bart Millard.
It’s a role that Quaid admits he was “uncomfortable” to play, particularly as a father himself. The actor shares son Jack Quaid, 33, with Ryan, 64, and twins Thomas and Zoe, 18, with Buffington, 53.
“The way [Bart’s] father was, no matter the era, even from back then, [was] very abusive, almost criminal,” Quaid explained. “And people who are like that, they were abused themselves as kids as well.”
I Can Only Imagine tells the true story of how Bart wrote the now-famous titular song and formed the Christian band MercyMe in the early 2000s after finding inspiration from his tumultuous and fragmented relationship with his father. Things changed for the pair, however, when Arthur revealed a terminally ill cancer diagnosis, and the twosome explored a path to forgiveness before Arthur’s death.

Quaid returns as Arthur in I Can Only Imagine 2, which hits theaters on Friday, February 20. The actor said it was important to him to “finish the story out the right way,” noting that the second film feels more like a “continuation” than a traditional sequel. The movie also gives audiences a chance to experience some of Bart and Arthur’s happier moments, as well as get a better look at Arthur’s redemption.
“The part of Arthur was very dear to me, and maybe the No. 1 movie that people come up to me in airports and whisper that they really love,” Quaid told Us while praising director Andrew Erwin. “And I just wanted to be a part of it in that sense.”
Quaid felt a certain protectiveness toward Arthur, who he feels was “genuine” in his attempt to repair his relationship with his estranged son. “Rarely do I find that people can actually really fundamentally change,” he explained. “It really takes a lot to do that. And I think that can only happen with God’s help.”
He continued, “It’s hard to ask for something you feel like you don’t deserve, but [Arthur] and Bart, not right away, they developed a relationship that turned out to be sweet in the end. It broke the chain of that abuse. That’s the gift that Arthur was able to give.”

Quaid noted that “the real” Bart was on set during the filming of the movies, an added challenge in having to portray some of the singer’s most traumatic childhood memories.
“You know, he’s watching all these scenes on the monitor in the next room of pretty horrific scenes,” Quaid said, adding that he was thankful to have the musician there. “He was very upfront and honest with me, which I really appreciated.”
Quaid, of course, is no newcomer to portraying real-life figures. He’s played the likes of astronaut Gordon Cooper, rock musician Jerry Lee Lewis and Ronald Reagan in his decades-long career, among many others.
“I actually have a kind of a preference to play real people, real stories. Real stories are pretty fantastic, because if they were fiction, you wouldn’t believe them,” Quaid told Us. “II feel like our responsibility to the person that I’m playing is to play them from their point of view. Nobody thinks of themselves as a villain or really as a hero. It’s just to try to get down to the essence of a person.”
“I know if somebody was playing me in a movie, I’d at least want to have it be my point of view of my life,” he added with a laugh.
I Can Only Imagine 2 hits theaters on Friday, February 20.
