Kelly Clarkson Shares ‘TMI’ Hotel Bathroom Confession
Kelly Clarkson left little to the imagination while telling her Las Vegas audience about a brutal hotel bathroom experience. The singer wondered aloud whether she had contracted cyclosporiasis, a foodborne parasitic illness that has reportedly affected nearly 7,000 people nationwide. However, Clarkson did not say she had been tested or diagnosed with the illness. She instead turned the unpleasant ordeal into a story filled with jokes about “Bridesmaids,” heated toilets, and her future dating prospects.

Clarkson recounted the incident during a recent Studio Sessions residency show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. “This is TMI, but I’m gonna go ahead and say it,” Clarkson began, according to fan videos shared on social media. “I don’t know if I got that thing, that, you know, like, people eat lettuce. Sh-t, I don’t know what. I don’t know what the f-ck… But last night during the show, I was like, ‘Oh my God. Jesus.’”
The “Stronger” singer appeared to be referencing cyclosporiasis amid reports of rising cases across the country. Clarkson did not confirm what she had eaten before becoming ill or whether she sought medical attention. Her remarks therefore should not be interpreted as confirmation that the parasite caused her symptoms.
The Singer Compares Her Ordeal To ‘Bridesmaids’

Clarkson said the situation intensified after she returned to her hotel room following the show. “I get back to my room, and I have never been so happy there is not a man in the room cause he for sure would never make sweet love to this again,” the Grammy winner joked.
She then compared the incident to the memorable food-poisoning sequence in the comedy “Bridesmaids.” “Bridesmaids ain’t got sh-t on what happened in my room. I was like, ‘Oh, Lord.’ And you know the part where you think it’s over. You’re like, ‘It has to be over.’ No, girl!”
Clarkson found at least one benefit hidden within the uncomfortable experience: the amenities provided inside her Las Vegas hotel bathroom. “But you know what’s awesome? They have, like, warm toilets for you here,” she told the crowd.
Kelly Clarkson Jokes About Her Dating Future

The singer also connected her embarrassing hotel experience to her relationship status. “Oh, I’m gonna be single until I’m dead. It’s fine. I’m gonna find another weird motherf-cker out there,” Clarkson said, who got divorced from the late Brandon Blackstock in 2022.
After revealing more than she originally intended, Clarkson struggled to find a smooth way to transition back into her residency performance. “But all that to say… there’s no segue from that,” she admitted. “I hope tonight is not like that. It’s not. I feel fine, thank you.”
Cyclosporiasis Cases Are Rising Across The Country

Nearly 7,000 cases of cyclosporiasis had reportedly been recorded nationwide as of last week. The source of the contamination had not been identified, although raw produce such as lettuce was being considered as a possible link.
Despite the uncertainty, Dr. Sohaib Imtiaz, Chief Medical Officer at People Inc., said health officials were not advising Americans to eliminate fruits and vegetables from their diets. “The good news is that health officials are not recommending people stop eating fruits and vegetables,” Imtiaz told PEOPLE. “Fresh produce remains an important part of a healthy diet.”
The doctor did, however, recommend that consumers take additional precautions while the cause of the outbreak remains under investigation.
Which Foods Could Carry A Higher Risk?

According to Imtiaz, prewashed bagged lettuce and salad mixes may carry an elevated risk because produce from several farms can be washed, chopped, and packaged together. That process could allow contamination to affect a larger batch.
Precut fruits and vegetables are another concern because removing their skin or peel exposes the interior. Imtiaz described that outer layer as a “natural protective barrier” and said shared processing equipment can also create opportunities for cross-contamination.
Leafy greens grow close to the ground and may come into contact with soil or contaminated irrigation water. Their textured surfaces, folds, veins, and edges can also provide places for the parasite to remain.
Fresh herbs, particularly basil and cilantro, were also identified as higher-risk items.

Ty Lawson Speaks After Allegedly Stealing Vodka Bottle
Former NBA point guard Ty Lawson is defending himself after he was arrested for allegedly stealing a bottle of vodka and calling one of the arresting officers a “white bitch” in the process.
Lawson, 38, is accused of taking a $34 bottle of Tito’s vodka from a Castle Rock, Colorado liquor store and bringing it to a nearby restaurant on Thursday, July 16, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. He was charged with theft of less than $300 and later released.
Lawson took to social media on Thursday, July 23, where he seemingly addressed the incident.
“Being black in America is tough,” he wrote via X. “Being lied [to] by a pasty face white woman wild… stay outta castle rock Colorado!!!!”
He added in a subsequent post, “This the wildest and more racist shit I been thru.”
An arrest affidavit obtained by FOX31 revealed that the shop owner witnessed the alleged theft and saw Lawson taking a sip from the bottle outside of the store before relocating to a nearby restaurant, “where he took the bottle by the fire pit, then sat at the bar with the stolen bottle. The owner advised that the man was possibly drunk, as she said she witnessed him stumbling.”
The affidavit continued, “When officers arrived, they arrested the man, later identified as Tywon Lawson. Lawson faces a charge of theft less than $300, shoplifting. During the incident, Lawson’s friend, who was holding the Tito’s bottle, was also detained, but later released after officers determined he had no role in the shoplifting. The arresting officer noted that Lawson emanated the smell of an unknown alcoholic substance.”
When police confronted the former North Carolina Tar Heel at the restaurant, they say he became hostile, repeatedly calling an officer a “bitch” and “white bitch.” He also allegedly kicked the glass wall of his holding cell and spit on the floor.
TMZ reports he later apologized to officers for his behavior.
Lawson, a former McDonald’s All-American, was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft, though he was immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets. He played eight seasons in the NBA, including six in Denver.
Before that, he was part of the University of North Carolina’s 2009 National Championship team, playing point guard for what is generally considered one of the best teams of college basketball’s modern era.
Last week marked the seventh time Lawson has been arrested. That includes his June 2008 arrest before his junior season in Chapel Hill. He pleaded guilty at the time to misdemeanor charges of driving after drinking and driving with a suspended license.
He was also arrested twice for DUI in 2015, once in Denver that January and another time in Los Angeles in July. He pleaded guilty to charges related to the first incident and a judge ordered him to attend rehab after the second.
In 2020, he was banned from the Chinese Basketball Association after posting on social media what the league deemed to be “inappropriate” comments “inconsistent with the social responsibilities and values.”
Lawson’s most recent arrest came in Madrid in 2022 when he was allegedly involved in two altercations at an airport restaurant, including one in which he reportedly threw a glass at another customer. Authorities then escorted him to a different flight.

Supriya Ganesh’s Next Role Revealed After The Pitt Exit
Supriya Ganesh’s next role has been revealed after her controversial exit from The Pitt as Dr. Samira Mohan.
Netflix announced on Wednesday, July 22, that Ganesh, 28, has joined its cast for the upcoming 13 Going on 30 reboot. Other cast members confirmed include Taylor Zakhar Perez, Owen Thiele, Nasim Pedrad and Myra Molloy.
The cast will be rounded out by Emily Bader, Logan Lerman, Adeline Rudolph, Jessica Alba, Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows, Dan Bucatinsky, Charley McCain, Henry Samiri, Audrina Miranda and Kai Zen.
Three months earlier, news broke that Ganesh’s character would be written off The Pitt after appearing on the medical show for two seasons. Reports indicated in April that Ganesh’s exit was a “story-driven” choice. One month later, Ganesh opened up about the fan reaction — and uproar — to her character’s exit.
“I tried to take a step away, because it’s just been so surreal,” Ganesh told Variety in May of the reaction. “The day that news broke, I saw my name was trending on Twitter, and I was like, ‘Gotta put the phone down and go outside.’ So, I haven’t really been keeping track of it, to be honest, but I’ve been getting such sweet, lovely messages from people, and I’ve honestly just been surprised at how much people love the character and saw so much of themselves in her, and that’s what I’m going to miss.”
While Ganesh couldn’t confirm any future projects yet, she teased that there are a “couple of things in the pipeline.”
In June, Ganesh made a rare comment about why her character was written off, telling the Los Angeles Times in a profile that it was a “creative decision” made by executive producers R. Scott Gemmill, Noah Wyle and John Wells.
“They work with such intention on the show and make all the choices that they make for that reason,” she noted. “So I think it’s better to ask them for answers.”
Ganesh, meanwhile, is channeling her energy into being positive. “I’m going to treasure all the memories I had working with these two [Sepideh Moafi and Isa Briones] and everyone else,” she added. “It’s been so great just getting all the love from the fans. I feel sad for them, too, that they won’t get to see this character.”
The Pitt has been renewed for season 3 on HBO Max.

The Time South Park Accidentally Stole A Joke For The Dumbest Reason
By Robert Scucci
| Published

One of the side effects of producing an entire episode of animated television in less than six days is that there’s not a lot of time for crucial quality checks. For Trey Parker and Matt Stone, though, maintaining that kind of Saturday Night Live energy allows South Park to stay on top of current events, for better or worse. It lets them sneak clever double entendres past the censors and pretty much make fun of whatever they want because they have the resources to turn whatever’s in the news into an episode, or in the case of Season 14’s “Insheeption,” knock out a parody while it’s still part of the pop culture conversation.
While being able to work so quickly certainly has its advantages (until election night), there are also blind spots, which is exactly what happened with “Insheeption.” Long story short (“I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining” reference … nice!), Trey Parker was accused of plagiarizing Dan Gurewitch and David Young of CollegeHumor, forcing the creative duo to call the guys themselves and issue an apology. The accusation spread quickly online because the similarities between the CollegeHumor sketch and the finished episode were difficult to ignore.

Unlike most comedians who get caught stealing jokes red-handed (looking at you, Denis Leary), Parker and Stone admitted to the impropriety and later credited Gurewitch and Young, who wrote the “Inception Characters Don’t Understand Inception” skit that inspired the now-infamous episode of South Park.
Trey Parker Hadn’t Seen The Movie He Was Making Fun Of
Like most South Park episodes, production starts on Thursday night, and the finished episode needs to be turned in to Comedy Central by Wednesday morning to make it to air on time. According to the mini-commentaries that Parker and Stone reluctantly recorded for every DVD release, it hadn’t occurred to them to parody Inception, a movie Trey Parker hadn’t yet seen, until their episode about Stan Marsh’s hoarding problem was already well underway.

As soon as the plot developed to the point where it’s revealed Mr. Mackey also had a hoarding problem, and hypnosis was the only way to help him and Stan overcome their condition, everyone on the writing staff thought the episode now known as “Insheeption” would make for the perfect Inception parody. There was just one problem: Trey Parker hadn’t seen the movie.
While Inception had a 25-week theatrical run, which is pretty much unthinkable these days, Parker and Stone couldn’t make it to a showing because of their grueling production schedule. They also couldn’t find any DVD screeners or anything else that would lead them directly to the source material quickly, so Stone, having seen the movie earlier in the run, started looking for parodies online, eventually landing on CollegeHumor’s “Inception Characters Don’t Understand Inception” skit.

In the CollegeHumor skit, several lines appear to have been lifted verbatim by Parker while he was working on the South Park episode, including how insane the dream-level logic is, how empty and scary the dream spaces are, and how every Inception agent was super stoked about how complex and cool it all was. In both the CollegeHumor skit and the South Park episode that followed, the characters meant to represent Leonardo DiCaprio’s Dom Cobb say, word for word, “Sometimes my thoughts of my dead wife manifest themselves as trains.” If you look at the writing on the wall, it’s obvious that South Park plagiarized CollegeHumor, but here’s the funny part: they absolutely didn’t mean to.
Captain Hindsight Has The Answer
While scrambling to parody a movie he hadn’t seen, using only parody content as source material because he couldn’t get a clean copy of Inception, Parker took Stone literally when they sat down to watch the CollegeHumor skit. The joke Stone was chasing and trying to convey to Parker involved how egregiously complex the dialogue was whenever the film explained its dream logic. When Parker and Stone saw the skit, the latter mistakenly assumed they were quoting the movie directly and presenting those lines out of context to highlight how ridiculous the dialogue actually was when delivered in a rapid-fire fashion.

In a conversation with The New York Times that surfaced after Parker and Stone faced backlash for ripping off CollegeHumor, Stone was forthcoming about what actually happened behind the scenes at South Park, stating, “It was like, Let’s parody the gobbledygook, because honestly, that movie, all those explanations, and explanations of explanations… We thought their joke was that a lot of those lines were actually in the movie, and they were banging them against each other, and showing that the ‘Inception’ characters didn’t even know ‘Inception.’ That was a mistake, and it was an honest mistake.”
The conversation was capped off with Stone saying, “It’s just because we do the show in six days, and we’re stupid and we just threw it together. But in the end, there are some lines that we had to call and apologize for.” In other words, thanks to Captain Hindsight, the South Park creators never tried to deny the allegations that they ripped off CollegeHumor, but they did everything they could to make it right after the fact.

HBO Is Officially Fixing One of 'Game of Thrones' Biggest Problems

Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 5.This week’s episode of House of the Dragon sees the plot thickening against Rhaenyra Targaryen’s (Emma D’Arcy) rule, as she faces crises in both King’s Landing and at home. In one of the episode’s best scenes, she and Daemon (Matt Smith) discuss the plot against her in the Sept, switching between the common tongue and High Valyrian so as not to be understood by those around them. Although they remain in disagreement, Rhaenyra and Daemon’s High Valyrian conversation is fascinating. It’s not the first time the ancient language has been spoken in the series, but it does act as a reminder that, right now, House of the Dragon is the only series in the A Song of Ice and Fire universe that can give us these important scenes.

2026’s Record-Breaking Horror Sensation Is Already a Streaming Sleeper Hit
2026 seems to be the year of the YouTubers as internet culture has taken over Hollywood during the first half of the year. First was Markiplier’s (Mark Fischbach) directorial debut, Iron Lung, which exceeded expectations at the box office and paved the way for the YouTuber to distribute his movie independently. Next was A24, which took in a young filmmaker whose directorial debut was not only a success in theaters, but also in the streaming charts.
The filmmaker in question is Kane Parsons, who runs the channel Kane Pixels, which has over 3.51 million subscribers and 51 total videos. The filmmaker is known for his videos based on the creepypasta story The Backrooms, a fictional location known for its liminal-space aesthetic and online notoriety. These videos went viral, with each installment earning millions of views; his first entry, “The Backrooms (Found Footage),” sat at 91 million views, and it was not long until film studios sought out the content creator to bring his viral hits to the big screen.
Backrooms was an A24 psychological horror released in theaters in May 2026 and now streaming. The feature sits at #5 on Vudu’s Top 10 Movies in the United States, sitting between 300 and Obsession. Backrooms stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Clark, who discovers an entrance to “the backrooms” in his furniture store. Backrooms has a reported budget of around $10 million, and it became a box office success, earning over $384.4 million worldwide.
Is ‘Backrooms’ Worth Watching?
Not only did Backrooms perform well at the box office, but it also did well in the ratings, earning an 87% Certified Fresh Critics’ Score and a 74% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a 3.4-star rating on Letterboxd. Critics praised Parsons for producing a successful film at such a young age and for how the feature made the concept of the Backrooms “haunting” but also “inviting”. However, some criticized Backrooms as “unsatisfying” and said it loses steam due to its ending. However, audiences praised Backrooms for being able to depict this online creepypasta on the big screen and want to see a sequel, as they believe the concept has potential for more storytelling. Collider’s Aidan Kelley gave Backrooms an 8/10 in his review, praising Parsons for his “marvelous sense of suspense and tension,” its production design, and actors’ performances, but criticized the choices made by the film’s characters.
Backrooms is available to stream on Vudu. Follow Collider for more updates.

Bold and Beautiful: Ridge’s Savage Revenge & Brooke Out for Blood!
Bold and the Beautiful explodes as Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) are on fire because Eric Forrester (John McCook) got punched. And on top of that, Ridge and Brooke blame the Spencers and Hope for everything that’s going wrong in their personal and professional lives.
We hear it over and over. Ridge already said once that he would take care of things, and that’s when he went over and punched Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). And now Ridge is talking about putting a stop to Logan once and for all. We’re going to talk about what Ridge and Brooke do next, trying to take down the competition.
Bold and the Beautiful: The Forresters Gang Up on Will
The Forresters, as you’ve seen, are all freaking out over Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) punching Eric, even though it was an accident and it was in the middle of a confrontation that R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) started and Eric exacerbated by insulting Will’s dad. And that is on top of Eric saying nasty things about Katie and Hope and Bill in that messy interview. So, there’s no way Ridge is going to just let it go that his dad was hit and neither will Brooke. And Eric, of course, keeps perpetuating the lies about how he came to be at Logan.
And this is all honestly just the tip of the iceberg. I expect Ridge and Brooke are going to want some serious revenge. Ridge was horrified to hear that Eric was punched by Will. And of course, R.J. and Eric are going to make it out like Will just attacked them out of the blue when R.J. was the one who started the physical altercation. But it’s hard for Ridge to look at his elderly dad bruised up and not freak out because Will did give Eric a nasty shiner and he also hit his head on that table.
And then of course R.J. sucker punched Will and then Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) delivered the kill shot and told Will that she will never ever get back together with him. She’s like totally quoting Taylor Swift. So R.J. and Electra bring Eric home and then we’re going to see Ridge and Brooke and Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) fussing over him even though Eric’s telling everybody he’s fine.
Forrester’s Revenge Plot on B&B
And then Katie Logan (Heather Tom) shows up because Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone) texted her an alert that Will hit Eric. So, of course, she’s freaking out about that. And Katie comes over to the Forrester mansion to check on Eric. Plus, Bold and the Beautiful spoilers confirm that Brooke is totally outraged during this discussion that turns into a confrontation. And she tells Katie that she’s awful for wanting this war. Then Brooke tells Katie she is no longer a part of this family, which will absolutely shock and devastate Katie.
And this incident with Eric, of course, is going to push everything over the top. After he got smacked, Ridge and Brooke are going to want some revenge. Not only will they want some form of justice for Eric. But we know they want to see Logan go broke and out of business. Because they can’t handle the competition. And Brooke and Ridge are going to want to punish Katie and Will and most of all, Bill Spencer.
Bold and Beautiful: Steffy Replaces Hope
So, the most important thing that I think is going to come out of this is professional consequences. I could see Ridge, Brooke, and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) deciding to use the Hope for the Future designs that are sitting on the shelf. Of course, they can’t call it Hope for the Future since she’s gone, but they could poke at Hope and Katie by launching a new collection, maybe under Steffy’s name. A line like “The Future of Forrester” to show that they’re putting Hope behind them even though they are designs that she consulted on and was the muse for.
Because Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz) made the designs, Forrester owns them. So, they’re free to do whatever they want with them.
Pressure Tactics and Family Divisions on B&B
Another thing that we might see is Ridge insists that Eric needs to call the cops and press charges on Will for Eric’s assault. There were plenty of witnesses at Bikini Bar that saw what happened. Even though R.J. instigated it, the cops would probably see bruised old guy Eric and then go arrest Will.
I will say that Eric threw out what is legally considered to be fighting words. So those are direct personal insults that are intended to provoke a violent reaction in somebody and that could mitigate any criminal charges. But if you remember, he told Will, “Go home to your dad. Go home to your low-life father where you belong.”
That was a really rotten thing for Eric to say, and that was after the cruel things he said about Katie and Hope in the interview. But even with Eric saying that, Will didn’t intend to hit him. But Ridge might push to have Eric go make a statement to the police and press charges.
Bold and the Beautiful: The Forresters Pressure Electra
Another thing is I expect Ridge, Eric, and Brooke to exert pressure on Electra. Now, she’s already told Will they’ll never be together. But I think the next thing is Ridge and the others will tell Electra she needs to move on with R.J.
We’ve seen Eric and Ridge boss Electra around about dumping Will. So, they might do it again in another direction. You know, even though Electra permanently called it quits with Will and she does truly seem done, that doesn’t mean she’s going to want to jump into something with R.J. right away.
In reality, Electra should take the time to grieve the end of her relationship with Will. Because he was her first love. But I don’t think R.J. is going to waste any time. I think he’s going to be all over Electra to officially date him and be his girlfriend.
And I can definitely see Brooke and Ridge and Eric pressuring Electra to give into that. In their minds, Will is poo on their shoe and R.J. is this golden boy, the best guy in the whole world.
Both Eric and Ridge already told Electra she couldn’t see or talk to Will. We’ve already seen them telling Electra who she can’t date. So, I could see Ridge and Electra telling Electra who she should date. And of course, R.J. would be really happy to rub it in Will’s face that he and Electra are together.

PR Warfare and Family Betrayal on Bold
Another thing we could see with Brooke and Ridge’s revenge plan is a public relations strategy. They’re angry and they’re threatened by Spencer Publications having so much power in the press. So, Ridge and Steffy might tell their external PR agency to start hitting back at Logan.
They might go after influencers and celebrities and ask them to heavily and publicly endorse Forrester Creations and Eric’s new couture line. Even better, if Ridge can have the PR firm get those same people to publicly diss Logan, that’d be great.
They can try and make Logan look like Walmart compared to Forrester Creations looking more like Saks Fifth Avenue. I think Ridge, Steffy, Eric, Brooke, all the Foresters are going to do everything in their power to keep up that accusation that Logan is a knockoff factory.
Eric said it in his interview, and I can see Ridge and Brooke running with that and using PR efforts to perpetuate that mindset. Now, one last thing I could see is something that’s a little more personal in the Forrester versus Spencer war.
Brooke Kicks Hope Out of the Family on B&B
After Brooke tells Katie this week that she’s no longer part of the family, Brooke may do that to her own daughter. We know she feels like Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) betrayed her by going to work with her aunt.
So, Brooke might tell Hope that as long as she is working with Katie and is over at Logan and living with the Spencers, she’s not part of the family either. Brooke may completely carve Katie and Hope out of the family. And of course, her nephew will as well.
This war between the Foresters and Spencers has gotten really bad already. And I do think that the Foresters are going to strike back very soon. And honestly, I can’t wait to see what they do.

The trailer features Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer and late star Angus Cloud, with Schafer reflecting that the cast “were literal babies” when filming began.
Rather than extending the story, the special celebrates the series that launched some of Hollywood’s biggest young stars and became one of HBO’s defining dramas. Fans can expect early audition-era footage, wrap celebrations and candid reflections on the show’s cultural impact, according to HBO’s official trailer.
‘Euphoria’ Helped Zendaya Make History

One of the show’s biggest success stories is lead star Zendaya. In 2020, the actress was just 24 when she won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, making her the category’s youngest-ever winner. She repeated the feat in 2022, earning her second Emmy for the troubled teenager.
But Zendaya has made clear that Rue became about far more than awards. Speaking at a 2022 “Euphoria” event, she became emotional while discussing viewers who had shared their experiences with addiction and sobriety.
“She represents a lot of people that need a lot of love,” Zendaya said, per Variety, adding that she wanted people “to be able to heal through her.”
Those performances ultimately transformed the performer from a former Disney star into one of television’s most decorated young actresses.
Sydney Sweeney And Jacob Elordi Became A-List Stars

When “Euphoria” premiered in 2019, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi were still trying to establish themselves beyond their early breakout roles.
Sweeney had credits including “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Sharp Objects,” and “Everything Sucks!,” but Cassie Howard launched her career into another stratosphere. W Magazine credits “Euphoria” as her 2019 breakout, after which she landed “The White Lotus,” the box-office hit “Anyone But You,” “Christy,” and the 2026 thriller “The Housemaid.”
Elordi’s transformation was even more dramatic. The actor revealed he had just “$400 or $800” left and considered “Euphoria” his final audition before returning home to Australia.
Seven years later, he’s fresh off “Frankenstein,” starred opposite Margot Robbie in 2026’s “Wuthering Heights,” and has Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars” next on his slate.
How ‘Euphoria’ Launched Hunter Schafer’s Career
For one star, “Euphoria” didn’t just provide a breakout role; it launched an acting career she never planned on having.
Hunter Schafer was a model preparing to study fashion at Central Saint Martins when an Instagram casting call ultimately led to her becoming Jules Vaughn in her first-ever acting role.
“I have not acted before and was not planning on it really either,” she said in a 2019 interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Seven years later, her résumé looks considerably different. Schafer has appeared in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” led the horror film “Cuckoo,” and joined the upcoming “Blade Runner 2099” alongside Michelle Yeoh.
She isn’t slowing down either. According to Vogue, her post-Euphoria slate also includes Tom Ford’s “Cry to Heaven,” “Fish,” “Palette,” and Hideo Kojima’s “OD.”
‘Euphoria’ Was Controversial From The Start

As the “Euphoria” fraternity gets one last chance to reflect on the show that changed many of their lives, one thing they might all agree on is that the production was rarely far from controversy.
Its graphic depictions of sex, drug use and nudity drew criticism from the beginning, with the Parents Television Council accusing HBO in 2019 of marketing “graphic adult content” to teenagers.
Scrutiny intensified during Season 2, with reported allegations from background actors about long working days and difficult conditions. The network defended the production, however, saying “the well-being of cast and crew” was a top priority and that no formal inquiries had been raised.
Barbie Ferreira’s 2022 exit also fueled speculation of behind-the-scenes tension with creator Sam Levinson. However, the actress later pushed back on reports of a feud, telling Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast that the decision to leave was “mutual.”
Levinson himself has remained a lightning rod for controversy, ensuring the conversation around “Euphoria” often extended far beyond what viewers saw onscreen.
