March 21 to April 20
Seven of Swords represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Aries for this week: Seven of Swords
Meaning: The end of the age of innocence when it comes to a person or situation that you truly hoped was going to treat you well, but deep down you’re realising it is not. Don’t panic or stress because this is a good thing.
Once you see this whole game clearly, you realise the role you’ve been designated, and you know it is simply not for you. This is something to step back from. And the even better news is that you can now divert and refocus your precious, wholesome, high-vibration energy into more aligned things that will bring you the rewards you deserve. Transfer your power consciously and deliberately.
Knight of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Taurus for this week: Knight of Cups
Meaning: One romantic or deep friendship connection withers on the vine, while another one takes root and starts to grow to the point it becomes visible. So, don’t linger where your affections aren’t wholly reciprocated. You’re ruled by Venus and too loving and precious to waste being used in a dead-end relationship.
Know your worth. Know your needs and deal breakers. If this is a flawed romantic bond, move back from it. Others are queueing to get to know you. If it’s a friendship, simply invest with a different circle for a while. See what happens when your attention is elsewhere — that’s the real acid test.
King of Wands represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Gemini for this week: King of Wands
Meaning: The end of one wild adventure and the beginning of another. You always have a million things on the boil so you’re not fazed by the decline of a project or purpose, because it only means there’s room for one more.
A goal you held is ending, maybe nearing completion or you’re realising it’s not as relevant or resonant as it once was. You adapt, you flex, you shift and pivot. A new adventure is calling, possibly linked to travel, creativity, education or lifestyle. Tune in, take charge, draft a plan and take a first step this week. One in, one out.
The Hanged Man represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Cancer for this week: The Hanged Man
Meaning: A major blockage is going to move the heck out of your way, at long last! And the key to it is not forcing things any longer, not even looking at it. Go off, do something else, be distracted… and magically not only will you care much less and think differently about this whole thing, but things will change without your glare of attention on it.
The limbo is over. The stagnation is done. So, get ready to leap into action because you’re making up for lost time and energy, it feels good to be moving again.
Eight of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Leo for this week: Eight of Cups
Meaning: You are ready to admit defeat. You are going to pull out of something that has not panned out. Your pride is dented ever so slightly, hence why you kept pretending all was well, but enough is enough. And, Leo, I applaud you because it takes guts to admit you’re wrong… and the Universe agrees.
The minute you cut off this dead wood, you will feel nothing but relief and liberation, and that renewed vibration will attract a slew of new opportunities, invitations, attentions, and attractions. You will end the week glowing and vibing on a high level! So get to it. Chop and change.
Five of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Virgo for this week: Five of Cups
Meaning: A period of mourning, grieving or regretting is coming to a close, and with it a sense of peace and ‘it is what it is and it’s okay’. You’ve changed, absorbed, processed, and accepted what has happened. This may have been something from long ago even — after all, the grief cycle is circular and eternal, right?
What starts now is a renewal of optimism, faith and self belief. You know you’ve endured a hardship, survived, and thrived. You feel stronger, wiser, more capable, and ready to flex those new muscles and test them out. Life doesn’t faze you. Get busy living.
Eight of Wands represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Libra for this week: Eight of Wands
Meaning: One social circle or connection, that has served you well and provided ample events, gossip, intrigue and opportunity, is withering on the vine. You sense things have shifted, the mood is different, the attention level is not what it was. All relationships and circles have a season… and many don’t last beyond it.
Recognise this and start to look about for a new circle or person or activity or hobby… keep your eyes peeled for where you’re being intrigued and called to next, because it’s already going to be in sight. Within two months, you will be firmly and happily embroiled in a new group, feeling wanted and rewarded, and that is just what you deserve. Accept nothing less.
The Lovers represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Scorpio for this week: The Lovers
Meaning: This card often signals a love triangle, a temptation, a distraction from the straight and narrow that is proving impossible to ignore. So, perhaps this week you will act on this impulse and find out whether the attractive new option is better, or not, than where you’re at. This might be in a relationship setting, might also be in work, family, home, or money.
Be mindful of what you’re trading or swapping, be aware of the consequences of disloyalty to any degree, act with fairness and integrity. What you do here will impact others. This is about where you fit in and serve, and maybe something is ready for refreshing or renewal, but maybe that is best done within the current parameters rather than escaping to new ones!
Page of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Sagittarius for this week: Page of Cups
Meaning: A fledgling friendship, flirtation, project or creative idea is moving from your imagination and fantasy realm into real life. The wondering is over… and the finding out is beginning. Will it stand up to pressure? Is it real? Can it work? Don’t stay in fantasy mode, move into action mode and answer these questions.
You are a unique character able to manifest your ideas and visions easily and with flair and style. You move effortlessly from the mental to physical realm, always armed with good fortune and optimism. Start this new ‘thing’ enthusiastically, breathe life into your imaginings…
Two of Coins represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Capricorn for this week: Two of Coins
Meaning: The end of a dry spell, a fallow period, a time of lack and abstaining. Abundance is back! You can have it all. So, stop worrying and focusing on what you haven’t got (enough of) and welcome in what there is in your vicinity. Be open-hearted and expansive. Say yes.
Suddenly, the tables turn and you find all manner of new invitations, openings and opportunities are coming at you, like a green light has been switched on (spiritually, it has). This is a week to build, prosper and achieve. Say yes to life.
Queen of Coins represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Aquarius for this week: Queen of Coins
Meaning: You are pivoting from apprentice to master. You are stepping up and taking responsibility and leaving behind the phase where you got to ask all the questions… now you’re the one who has to answer them!
This might manifest as a promotion, new role, change in relationship or home dynamics, shift in a family bond. It’s like moving into adult/parent mode after childhood. That’s an empowering thing, and you’re ready to use your newfound confidence and accountability to make the decisions you think are shrewd and positive. Show them what you can achieve when you’re in charge.
Two of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)
Tarot card for Pisces for this week: Two of Cups
Meaning: The end of singledom, feeling isolated or lonely, being estranged from someone or losing the thread of your most important relationship’s core. You are back in business.
The Two of Cups sees you falling in love, healing the rift, coming back together stronger than ever, and creating a lasting bond, mutually adoring, with someone dear to you. This is truly, possibly, your best ever Valentine’s aftermath. Lean in and be romantic and loving! Fall (deeper) in love and revel in Cupid’s afterglow of celebrations.

Large swathes of Britain are bracing for continued disruption as a yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in effect across much of Scotland and parts of England until Sunday morning. The Met Office has cautioned that heavy snowfall and icy conditions could lead to significant travel delays.
Jonathan Day, flood duty manager at the Environment Agency, confirmed that while more than 24,000 homes and businesses have been successfully protected, approximately 330 properties have unfortunately been inundated.
The yellow warning for snow and ice stretches from Derby northwards, covering the majority of Scotland. The Met Office predicts that snow could be “heavy at times,” with accumulations of 1-3cm possible at lower elevations, rising to 3-7cm above 150m, and potentially 10-15cm on ground higher than 400m.

74 flood warnings and 163 flood alerts, were active as of Saturday night (Getty Images)
Forecasters also highlighted ice as an additional hazard, particularly across north-east England and parts of Scotland, where precipitation falling on frozen ground could create “very slippery conditions.” The snow is expected to transition to rain into Sunday morning, with a brief spell of freezing rain possible in some locations, before clearing eastwards and a gradual thaw begins.
Met Office meteorologist Greg Dewhurst indicated that Sunday will start blustery for many, with showery rain and some hill snow. Milder air will push into the south west, potentially bringing temperatures of 12C to parts of Cornwall and Devon, while eastern areas will remain cooler at around 4C or 5C.
The coming week is set to begin unsettled and blustery with further showers nationwide, easing by Tuesday. Another weather system is anticipated on Wednesday, bringing more unsettled conditions, before Thursday is expected to be drier.
EXCLUSIVE: Content creator Josh Wilkinson says his life has become “much simpler and happier” since leaving his hometown of Adelaide, Australia
Samantha Masters Content Editor

A 34-year-old Australian has opened up about his reasons for abandoning his hometown of Adelaide, in search of a simpler life. Australia is known for being a go-to destination for British expats, with over one million UK citizens living in hotspots such as Sydney.
The country’s appeal to Britons typically lies in its pleasant climate, stunning coastlines, bustling metropolitan areas, good healthcare provision and abundant employment prospects.
Given such seemingly ideal living conditions, it comes as somewhat unexpected that a long-term resident would contemplate leaving.
Yet content creator Josh Wilkinson has recently explained precisely why he believes he had little option but to depart.
Cost of living
While acknowledging his appreciation for residing in such a “beautiful place,” the YouTuber expressed that it had increasingly become “hard to live here”.
Describing the expenses from a recent supermarket visit, he expressed particular shock at finding a pineapple priced at 10 Australian dollars (approximately £5).
“Australia is not really what it was 10/20 years ago, which sucks,” he stated on his YouTube channel. “The people running these countries don’t care about protecting the values of the people in that country. And that’s just based on evidence.
“I grew up with a vision in mind of you know getting to this age, having a house, a nice place, you can’t do that anymore, it’s too expensive,” he disclosed. After losing his full-time job unexpectedly and pivoting to content creation last year, Josh now enjoys the flexibility of working remotely from abroad.
Currently based in Bali, he drew comparisons between the costs of living in the two locations and insisted he has no regrets about his choice.
He said: “Australia is that expensive that when you compare it to places in Southeast Asia, it’s literally cheaper to travel and live abroad with a high quality of life, eating good food in good weather, than it is to rent an average little place here [Adelaide].”
Beyond financial considerations, Josh, who also operates the YouTube channel Polarity, revealed that feeling detached from the prevailing culture was another major factor in his decision.
“The culture here kind of sucks if I’m honest, and it’s not just Australia,” he added.
“I’m talking about the West, the Western culture, I’m just not really a fan of it, it’s so consumerism focused.
“Everyone’s just worried about what they have, how they look, their social media.
“And I’m not totally demonizing those things either, obviously I’m talking to you on social media, it’s not like it’s all bad but it’s how much value and focus a country and a place and the people in it put on those things,” he added.
“And what’s actually important in life, you know, climbing a corporate ladder, drinking beers every weekend, obsessing over a local sports team, that kind of is Australian culture. And I’m just not really into it.”
Future plans
Josh has been updating his YouTube followers on his adventures across Bali thus far.
While still based in Australia, he outlined his intentions: “There is lots more around the world, beautiful people, beautiful places. And I’ve always thought how cool it would be just to basically document my journey around the world.
“I’m not planning too far ahead, right now things are kind of vague but basically I’m going to be going around the world and I’m going to take you guys with me and just kind of show that journey. I’m going to be doing it all solo.”
When questioned about a potential return to Australia, he told us: “I’m just travelling around and taking life as it comes right now, life is much simpler and happier in Bali.
“A part of me would love to live in Australia again and maybe I will eventually, but the slow erosion of free speech and implementation of digital ID’s makes me hesitant.”

Como slipped to only their fifth league loss of the season on Saturday, suffering a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to relegation-battlers Fiorentina.
Nicolo Fagioli gave the visitors the lead midway through the first half and ex-Premier League striker Moise Kean doubled Fiorentina’s advantage with a 54th-minute penalty.
Como sensed a late comeback when when Fabiano Parisi scored an own goal but were unable to find an equaliser and even finished the match with ten men.

Morata, who joined Como on loan from AC Milan at the start of the season, only came on as a second-half substitute but did not see out the game, receiving two yellow cards in the space of a minute.
Ex-Real Madrid striker Morata was shown the first following an off-the-ball tussle with Luca Ranieri but appeared to talk himself into a second yellow and was dismissed by referee Matteo Marchetti.
Morata looked bemused as the red card was brandished and he left the pitch but Fabregas had little sympathy for his former Chelsea teammate.

‘Provocation is part of football,’ he told DAZN. ‘Those who can’t live with it should change careers.
‘I expect much more from an experienced player like him. The line between winning and losing is very thin so we shouldn’t find excuses, and we shouldn’t care what others do on the pitch.’
Discussing Como’s defeat more generally, Fabregas added: ‘I’m annoyed that I wasn’t able to help the boys understand the importance of the game.

‘I showed them my experience as a footballer during the week, maybe too much, but it wasn’t enough. We’re a young team.
‘It wasn’t a football match in the second half. Leaving that aside, the game has to be won with the right motivation and energy.
‘I feel bad as a coach, because I wasn’t able to convey this to my players today. Maybe it was in our heads. We made a mistake in our attitude, we have to show more desire.
‘I didn’t like the first half very much, the second half, I repeat, wasn’t a game of football.’
Como were expected to sign Morata on a permanent transfer at the end of his loan spell but his underwhelming stint at the club could force a rethink.
Morata, who helped Spain win the Euros in 2024, has scored just once for Como and is yet to get off the mark in 15 league games.
The 2-1 defeat leaves Como seventh in Serie A – five points outside the Champions League places – while Fiorentina stay 18th but are only in the relegation zone on goal difference.
At the meeting, traders backed calls to bring back free parking to the town centre to try and attract more people, but one business owner had an alternative solution.
Ann Gent and Tony Gent run Lions Club Charity Book Shop on Blackwellgate, a mainstay on Darlington’s high street for more than 30 years.
Ann referenced the closure of House of Fraser in April, and said what happens to the building could be pivotal to the town centre’s future.
She said: “What happens to Binns is critical, if that were to be boarded up, that would just look terrible. It needs to be handled carefully.”
She suggested attracting a big-name business to take over the building would help increase footfall.
Ann added: “For me, the solution would be to bring somebody like John Lewis into Darlington to take over the Binns building. We need something to bring people in.”

In response, a John Lewis spokesperson said: “While we’re not currently looking to expand our shop estate, we’re incredibly grateful for the warm reception amongst Darlington residents, and continue to offer a range of delivery options online.”
Harry Maguire’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain with his contract expiring in the summer
The Manchester United dressing room reportedly believes it would be “madness” if Harry Maguire is not offered a new contract by the club. Maguire’s current deal at Old Trafford is set to expire at the end of the season, and there is ongoing speculation about the centre-back’s future.
It was revealed by former United boss Ruben Amorim in January last year that United opted to activate the 12-month option in Maguire’s contract, which is set to expire this summer.
Maguire is yet to sign a new contract, meaning the England international would leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season as things stand.
Having struggled for regular game time under Amorim in the first half of the season, as well as dealing with injury, Maguire has started all five matches for United under interim head coach Michael Carrick.
Maguire has played a key role in helping United climb up to fourth place in the Premier League table, and as a result, the rest of his teammates are reported to have made their feelings clear on the defender’s future.
It has been reported by The Sun that many players in the United dressing room believe that the club should hand Maguire a contract extension to keep the defender at Old Trafford beyond this summer.
“The players think it would be madness if he [Maguire] was not offered a new deal,” a source is quoted as telling The Sun.
“Harry has endured plenty of ups and downs at United but has come through all that and is playing really well.
“He’s very well-respected in the dressing room and is passing on a lot of knowledge to some of the younger players like Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro.
Ensure our latest sport headlines always appear at the top of your Google Search by making us a Preferred Source.
“Everyone likes him and respects him and the majority of the players want the club to give him a deal.”
This update follows reports earlier in the week which claimed that United would look to offer Maguire a new contract before the end of the season.
A report in the Daily Mail claimed that United could look to offer Maguire a contract that sees his £180,000-per-week salary lowered.
AC Milan have been credited with an interest in signing Maguire in recent weeks, while there is also rumoured interest in the Saudi Pro League with Al Qadsiah.

Sir Keir Starmer told Europe it has to be ready to “fight” Russian aggression as he announced that the UK would deploy warships and fighter jets to the Arctic later this year.
But even as the PM hailed what he said would be a demonstration of the transatlantic relationship, US secretary of state Marco Rubio warned the continent’s leaders over their ”malaise of hopelessness” and said that the US needed a partner with the “will to survive”.
It came as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky hit out at the United States, saying his country was being asked to make concessions to Russia “too often” in US-brokered peace talks and that Europe was being sidelined.
Keir Starmer announced that British warships are set to patrol the Arctic (AP)
During an eventful day at the summit:
Sir Keir rebuked President Trump, saying he should “be in no doubt – if called on, the UK would come to your aid today”
The PM said the UK should align more closely with the EU on the economy as well as on defence, and received a round of applause as he said: “We are not the Britain of the Brexit years any more”
He attacked Reform as “pro-Putin” as he said Nigel Farage’s party and the Greens were offering a future of “division and then capitulation” that would see the “the lamps go out across Europe once again”
Sir Keir denied that he had “narrowly missed” being toppled and said he had ended this week “much stronger than I started it, and that’s a very good place to be”
Addressing the event on Saturday morning, Sir Keir said leaders must not dither, because “Russia has proved its appetite for aggression”. He warned that, even if there were a peace deal for Ukraine, Russia’s rearmament “would only accelerate”.
“We must answer this threat in full,” he said. “The road ahead is straight and it is clear. We must build our hard power, because that is the currency of the age. We must be able to deter aggression, and yes, if necessary, we must be ready to fight.”
Announcing the planned deployment of the warships, the prime minister said that the US, Canada and other Nato allies would join Britain in bolstering security across what is known as the Nigh North.

Mr Trump has claimed that Europe does not do enough to defend Greenland, which is strategically important to the US, amid threats from Russia and China.

During his address, Sir Keir also hit out at Mr Trump’s claims that he is unsure whether other Nato allies would come to the US’s defence.
One of the alliance’s founding principles, Article 5, is that an attack on one Nato member is regarded as an attack on all. It has only been invoked once, after the 9/11 terror attacks in New York.
“Be in no doubt, if called on, the UK would come to your aid today,” he told the US president.
As the world approaches the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine later this month, Sir Keir said the UK recognised the “urgency” of the need to establish closer defence ties with the EU.
In a move that will infuriate Brexiteers at home, he also said that Britain should move towards “deeper economic integration” with the EU, aiming to “move closer to the single market” in various sectors. He insisted his cabinet was in full agreement as he attempted to brush off the Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar’s bid last week to oust him from office, saying he had “ended the week much stronger than I started it”.
His speech came less than an hour after an address by Mr Rubio, who warned Europe that the US did not want to be caretakers of Western “decline”. The US secretary of state criticised countries he said had spent not enough on defence and too much on welfare, had appeased a climate “cult” to their own economic detriment, had allowed too much immigration, and had not defended their history, as he hit out at what he said was a “malaise of hopelessness and complacency”.
But Mr Zelensky in turn attacked the US, saying: “The Americans often return to the topic of concessions, and too often those concessions are discussed only in the context of Ukraine, not Russia.”
Mr Zelensky said he hoped that the US would stay involved in the negotiations, and that there would be an opportunity for Europe to play a larger role.
“Europe is practically not present at the table. It’s a big mistake, to my mind,” he said.
While world leaders gathered for the Munich Security Conference, demonstrators nearby banged drums and chanted for the overthrow of the Iranian government.

The large and boisterous gathering in the German city was part of what Mr Pahlavi described as a “global day of action” to support Iranians in the wake of deadly nationwide protests.

Trump: Regime change in Iran would be ‘best’
“Change, change, regime change” chanted the crowd.
Many waved green, white and red flags with lion and sun emblems – the flag Iran used before its 1979 Islamic Revolution which toppled the Pahlavi dynasty.
Others in the crowd waved placards showing Mr Pahlavi – some that called him a king.
Mr Pahlavi, 65, has urged protesters to take to the streets, helping to transform what started as grievances over the Islamic Republic’s weakened economy into a legitimate threat to the country’s theocracy.

At a news conference in Munich, he warned of the likelihood of more deaths in Iran if “democracies stand by and watch”.
“We gather at an hour of profound peril to ask: Will the world stand with the people of Iran?” he asked.

He added that the Iranian government’s continued survival “sends a clear signal to every bully: kill enough people and you stay in power”.
Health experts including the NHS, UKHSA, and WHO recommend keeping homes above a minimum temperature
Ketsuda Phoutinane Spare Time Content Editor
04:00, 15 Feb 2026
Energy costs are soaring and have been escalating each winter, but there’s a compelling reason to ward off the chill. Feeling cold isn’t just uncomfortable – the temperature of our homes plays a significant role in our overall health.
With colds, flu, norovirus, and Covid, winter bugs are abundant and hard to dodge. You’ll be familiar with one of the simplest ways to protect yourself being handwashing, but maintaining warmth is also crucial in preventing illness.
Cold weather impacts the body and keeping your home chilly can lead to sickness, NHS Inform explains. When it’s cold, our hearts have to work harder to keep the body warm, which consequently raises blood pressure. Cold air can irritate the lungs and leave joints feeling sore.
So, what temperature best wards off illness? The guidance from the NHS, UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) all point to the same minimum temperature: 18C.
The WHO’s Housing and health guidelines state: “Indoor housing temperatures should be high enough to protect residents from the harmful health effects of cold. For countries with temperate or colder climates, 18C has been proposed as a safe and well-balanced indoor temperature to protect the health of general populations during cold seasons.”
This advice is mirrored by the guidance given by the UKHSA for staying well in winter. The agency advises: “Our top tip is to heat the home, or the parts of it you’re using, to at least 18C.
“This is the temperature at which we start to see changes in the body, when the blood starts to thicken. So, temperatures above this are best to protect your health.”
However, it’s worth noting that the thermostat should be set even higher if there are individuals who are more susceptible to the cold, reports the Mirror. As per NHS Inform, “Anyone can become unwell when the weather is cold. However, some people are more at risk.”
The following groups are listed:
People aged 65 or over
People with underlying health conditions, like heart or lung conditions or mental health conditions
Children (particularly aged five and under)
Pregnant women
People who are housebound or have low mobility
Public Health Wales has recommended increasing the temperature to 23C in such instances: “For those households with vulnerable people, the recommendations are 23C in the living room and 18°C in other rooms achieved for 16 hours in a 24-hour period.”
The cold itself doesn’t cause illness, but it does facilitate conditions that do. For example, a chilly environment benefits viruses. Studies have demonstrated that the viruses responsible for flu and Covid survive longer in cold and dry conditions, thereby increasing their chances of infecting people.
“Cold temperatures themselves do not cause infections,” clarified Manal Mohammed, a Senior Lecturer in Medical Microbiology at the University of Westminster in The Conversation.
“Instead, they influence a combination of biological, environmental and social factors that make people more vulnerable to respiratory illnesses, especially during the winter months.”
Being cold also places our bodies at a disadvantage once we become unwell, as UKHSA noted: “Being cold also affects our body’s ability to fight off infection. This is why in the weeks after the cold weather we see more deaths from infections like pneumonia, as lung conditions and coughs can develop into a more serious problem.”
The woman began talking to who she believed to be Reece Fletcher on Christmas day in December 2023 after matching on dating site Tinder.
A mum conned by a Tinder rapist into a fake relationship has told how she tracked down the real man behind the pictures.

The woman began talking to who she believed to be Reece Fletcher on Christmas day in December 2023 after matching on dating site Tinder.
However in reality, it was serial conman Ryan McVeigh posing as Fletcher who using photographs of Yorkshire based dad Gary Stephenson had also targeted 16 other women – including raping two.
Over six months, McVeigh conned the mum out of £800, asked her to send intimate photographs of herself and even pretended to be his own sister who told her he had tried to commit suicide.
After she shared photographs of “Reece” on a Facebook group she tracked down the real Gary Stephenson before contacting police.

The mum, who has asked not to be identified, said: “We matched on Tinder then started speaking for a while on Snapchat. We would talk on the phone until 4am.
“At first I’d wanted to be sure he was who he said he was and would ask him to send live snaps doing things like touching his nose.
“I don’t know how he did it but they were actually pictures of the real Gary Stevenson.

“We had planned to meet and he didn’t turn up. He had borrowed money and said he would come to my house or work to return it in cash.
“I finally told him I didn’t believe him and I was going to the police. I then got a call from a woman, claiming to be his sister, saying she was going to kill me because Reece had tried to harm himself.
“I started calling around hospitals to ask if anyone has been admitted with that name. I was in such a panic wondering what I’d got into. I posted his picture online and other women told me he was a catfish. They told me to Google reverse the images.
“I found the real Gary on Tikitok and reached out to him.”

The mum was one of 17 women targeted by McVeigh, who is now facing a prison sentence.
She said: “Gary came back to me and when we spoke I was so upset because I did not expect to hear a different voice. He even video called me to prove it was the real him with his voice and face. I felt like I’d fallen in love with this guy and had spent so much time talking to him but this real guy was someone else who had a fiancé.
“When I finally found out that the person I believed to be Reece was Gary, I felt sick.

“Now I know this other man knows my deepest secrets and it wasn’t even him.
“I contacted the police because I was so angry. I asked Gary to send me the names of the girls who had contacted him and I contacted them all. I was devastated.”
In court in November, McVeigh admitted defrauding 17 victims out of £81,872 and raping two of the women over 12 months.

She said: “When he pled guilty in court, I felt so relieved.
“I’m so glad that we stopped him from doing this to other women, which he would have.”
