Billy Ray Cyrus is remembering Dolly Parton with an emotional tribute that perfectly captures the country icon’s humor, warmth and ability to handle tabloid attention. Following Parton’s death at age 80, Cyrus shared a collection of photographs documenting their decades-long friendship, including moments with his daughter and Parton’s goddaughter, Miley Cyrus. The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer also revealed that Parton had recently sent him a personal message expressing how deeply she loved him.

Cyrus began his Instagram tribute by reflecting on how difficult it was to choose just one memory from their friendship. “I have so many moments and memories with Dolly, it’s hard to know where to start. Like every little boy, I grew up loving Dolly Parton. She was a part of our lives, on our TV’s, right in our living rooms,” Cyrus wrote alongside photographs of the pair throughout the years.
The carousel opened with a photo of Billy Ray, Parton and Miley Cyrus smiling together at a MusiCares event. Another black-and-white image captured a younger Billy Ray posing with Parton inside a recording studio, while a more recent photograph showed the longtime friends seated beside each other at an event. Cyrus also included a nostalgic image from their early musical collaboration, showing Parton performing alongside him in the “Romeo” music video.
Dolly Parton Had A Hilarious Reaction To Affair Rumors
Cyrus recalled one particularly unforgettable interaction from 1992, when tabloid stories falsely linked him romantically to Parton. Rather than allowing the rumors to affect their friendship, Parton responded with the wit that became one of her trademarks.
“In 1992, I’ll never forget walking into her dressing room to apologize for all the tabloid stories which claimed I was having an affair with her. In true Dolly fashion, she just looked at me, winked, and said, “Honey, this trash sells records!”” Cyrus shared.
The moment reportedly unfolded during the same period that Cyrus was experiencing his rapid rise to fame following the release of “Achy Breaky Heart.”
Parton and Cyrus turned their friendship into a musical collaboration the following year. Cyrus appeared on “Romeo,” a song from Parton’s 1993 album “Slow Dancing with the Moon.” The recording also featured Mary Chapin Carpenter, Pam Tillis, Kathy Mattea and Tanya Tucker.
According to Parton’s official website, the album reached No. 4 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 16 on the Billboard 200. “Romeo” also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Country Vocal Collaboration.

Parton’s bond with Billy Ray eventually grew to include his daughter Miley, who affectionately called the singer “Aunt Dolly.” Billy Ray named Parton Miley’s honorary godmother, creating a relationship that became one of the most recognizable mentorships in entertainment.
Parton later appeared on Miley’s Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana” as Aunt Dolly, the godmother of Miley Stewart and a close friend of the fictional Stewart family.
Away from television, Parton continued to advise Miley as she moved from child stardom to an adult music career. The two women also performed together and collaborated on several songs over the years.
Cyrus concluded his tribute by revealing that he had received a deeply personal message from Parton shortly before her death. “Dolly recently sent me a beautiful message, telling me she loved me with her whole heart. I will always love her in the same way ….. with my whole heart … and I always will,” he wrote. His choice of words also served as a touching reference to Parton’s enduring song “I Will Always Love You.”
Cyrus did not disclose when Parton sent the message or provide further details about its contents. However, the revelation showed that their friendship remained strong more than three decades after the tabloid rumors first brought them unwanted attention.

And calls her up to explain the terms to Marissa. But Marissa stands by Edward. And says she has to trust him.

As Thomas often does he blames Paula for holding her phone and not holding on with two hands. They are going out to a nice dinner. But the bike ride has messed up Paula’s hair. Not to mention she was uncomfortable because she’s wearing a dress.
Paula expresses her frustration over Thomas’s reluctance to consider her comfort. He sees nothing wrong with the bike ride since it saved money on parking. Few stars can say they’ve had as successful a year as Alan Ritchson, who headlined one of the biggest sci-fi movies of the year in War Machine. The Predator-style sci-fi film was not given a wide theatrical release and was instead dropped straight to streaming on Netflix, but it did well enough to earn a spot in the streamer’s all-time top 10 most-watched movies list. Ritchson’s Gloss takes an arrow to the chest after killing Wiress in front of her, and Ritchson has confirmed that he originally filmed a much more brutal death scene where he took his arrow straight to the face — that scene ultimately didn’t make the final cut. For fans who want to relive a rare death from a Ritchson-played character, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is streaming exclusively on Netflix right now, and fortunately for fans, the streamer has not announced any plans for the film to leave the platform in the next month or two.

What Is the Next ‘Hunger Games’ Movie About?
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is the next film set in The Hunger Games universe, and it’s set in Panem 24 years before the events of the original series of films on the eve of the 50th Hunger Games. A former TV anchor, Angelynn Mock, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on Friday, August 21. Mock was accused of killing her 80-year-old mother after she was found in bed surrounded by bloody knives and a cheese grater last Halloween in Wichita, Kansas.

According to the Sedgwick County district attorney’s office, Mock is expected to receive a life sentence with parole eligibility after 25 years with the plea, per KAKE News.
A sentencing hearing is reportedly scheduled for October 5.

Avers Was Found Near Bloody Knives And A Cheese Grater
Officers from the Wichita Police Department responded to a residence on the 1500 block of East Crowley near Wassall and Hydraulic about a reported cutting on October, 31, 2025.
Upon arrival, officers found Mock outside the residence with cuts on her hands. Furthermore, they found her mother unresponsive in a bed surrounded by bloody knives and a cheese grater.
Avers later died at the hospital from multiple stab wounds.
Mock Was Reportedly Diagnosed With A Mental Illness
According to KAKE News, Mock was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. In addition, she reportedly has delusions and was diagnosed with depression.

Furthermore, Mock was a TV anchor in St. Louis at FOX from 2011 to 2015 before she was allegedly laid off following “an explosive situation involving alcohol,” per Channel 3000.
The 48-year-old reportedly said her mother was jealous of her upcoming job interview and threatened her with a knife. Mock also allegedly admitted to stabbing her mother to save herself and stated that she thought Avers was the devil.
“I know, I believe she’s the devil,” said Mock.
Mock had reportedly been held on a psychiatric hold just weeks before the murder.
If there was any doubt about just how massive Grand Theft Auto VI is going to be, the latest pre order data may have put it to rest.
According to a new report from digital intelligence firm Sensor Tower, an incredible 89% of GTA 6 pre orders are reportedly for the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, compared to just 11% for the $79.99 Standard Edition.
The numbers are particularly surprising considering premium editions traditionally account for a much smaller percentage of early game sales. Sensor Tower’s data reportedly shows the trend is nearly identical across both major console platforms, with approximately 88.5% of PlayStation pre orders and 90% of Xbox pre orders going toward the Ultimate Edition.
That means players aren’t simply lining up for GTA 6. They’re overwhelmingly choosing the most expensive version available.

Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently acknowledged that the Ultimate Edition was outselling the Standard Edition, attributing the early trend to the franchise’s most dedicated fans.
“The most avid consumers are the ones who are pre-ordering now,”
Zelnick said.
The $99.99 Ultimate Edition includes additional premium content, including vehicles, weapons and apparel integrated throughout Jason and Lucia’s story. Rockstar has priced the Standard Edition at $79.99.

The staggering 89% figure also arrives shortly after Take Two described overall demand for GTA 6 as “unprecedented.” Zelnick called the response to pre orders both “unprecedented and astonishing,” although the publisher has stopped short of revealing exactly how many copies have been reserved.
Pre orders officially opened on June 25, and the response further illustrates the enormous anticipation surrounding Rockstar’s first new Grand Theft Auto installment in more than a decade. Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 230 million copies since its original 2013 release, creating an almost unprecedented built in audience for its successor.

The Ultimate Edition’s dominance could also be an important indicator for the broader gaming industry. Publishers have increasingly experimented with higher prices and premium editions, but convincing nearly nine out of every ten early buyers to spend an additional $20 would be an extraordinary achievement for any franchise.

Of course, the percentage could change significantly as launch approaches. Early adopters are typically among a franchise’s most dedicated fans, while more casual players may ultimately gravitate toward the cheaper Standard Edition.
Still, an 89% premium edition share this early is another indication that GTA 6 isn’t behaving like a normal video game release.

The cast and crew of Heroes got back together recently to celebrate the life of Hayden Panettiere.
Writer and co-executive producer Bryan Fuller shared photos from the reunion on Tuesday, August 25, nearly 10 days after Panettiere died at age 36 from a suspected overdose in Greenville, South Carolina.
“A HEROES REUNION TO CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF THE YOUNG WOMAN WHO WAS #1 ON THE CALL SHEET AND #1 IN OUR HEARTS AND MEMORIES,” Fuller captioned his Instagram post. “WE SHARED STORIES OF HAYDEN’S LIGHT THAT SHINED ON ALL OF OUR LIVES.”
Heroes aired for four seasons from 2006 to 2010 and made Panettiere a household name. She played cheerleader Claire Bennet on the hit show.

I had pushed my body to a point where my eyes turned yellow, I was struggling with jaundice, and [not having the] courage to exit my house,” she said of her third stint in rehab to overcome addiction. “I went to the doctor and had a blood test and he, in no uncertain terms, told me that if you do not put a stop to this right now, then your body’s not going to be able to recover.”
“A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth and kindness that made us all feel like family,” Parton’s rep said in a statement. “Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of love, compassion and resilience. … Her songs will continue to resonate with people of all ages, and her philanthropic work will have a lasting impact.”
Although a cause of death was not revealed, Parton’s team said the 9 to 5 actress died peacefully in Nashville on Tuesday, August 25, at the age of 80.
A small, private service will be held for immediate family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age 5, no matter their family’s income.

There is no greater magnet for misfortune in the world of Marvel Comics than Peter Parker. Part of his charm is his ability to endure one tragedy after another — from losing his uncle Ben to failing to save Gwen Stacy and erasing his marriage to Mary Jane — and come out on the other end still more than willing to keep fighting for a better tomorrow. It’s an aspect visible across all versions of the character, whether on the page or on-screen in his latest theatrical outing, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Yet, there’s one thing that the superhero giant has been reluctant to do to its beloved web-slinger in the main Earth-616 timeline — kill his Aunt May.
While the MCU broke ranks and killed Marisa Tomei‘s May Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home and alternate universe comics have similarly imagined a world without her, the mainline Spider-Man comics haven’t been willing to pull that proverbial trigger, at least not definitively, to this point. The Amazing Spider-Man #400 seemingly saw the death of Peter’s dear mother figure, but it was later revealed to be an actress genetically modified to look exactly like her. Her near-demise was also the catalyst for the infamous One More Day storyline, where Peter sacrificed his marriage to Mephisto to save her. There have been a few other fake-outs too, but in a universe where characters die and come back to life all the time in some form or another, The Amazing Spider-Man May has been borderline invincible. That may not last, though.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’s Latest Issue Sets Peter Up for Devastation
At the end of The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 7, issue #35, penned by Joe Kelly, Peter is receiving a reprimand from Agent Griffyn of the Department of Damage Control. Something happened to Ghost-Spider that caused her to lash out against the city and endanger the lives of civilians until Spidey found her and snapped her out of it. Griffyn wants to take her into custody until the other Spiders swing in and whisk her away to get checked out by Norman Osborn. He is not pleased that the wall-crawler defended a criminal, considering him just as liable for aiding and abetting. Before the chewing-out can resume, however, Peter finally answers a call from Aunt May after being repeatedly dialed. However, it’s not his beloved family member, but instead her boyfriend, Ric, urging him to come to the hospital immediately because May had a stroke.
The look of pure shock and devastation on Peter’s face under the mask when he hears the news says it all. Few characters have been as continuously important to the web-slinger as Aunt May, who has been endlessly supportive of her nephew whether she knows of his identity as Spider-Man or not. Issue #9 only further drives home their relationship, with the two getting one last heart-to-heart about how he’ll always be her son, even with the reintroduction of her and Ben’s actual son, Cormac, into her life. Losing her for the first real time in the history of The Amazing Spider-Man would be a watershed moment in Marvel Comics. Whether she lives or not, though, it’s setting up for a very consequential 1,000th issue on September 30.
