A $1M Gift From Dolly Parton Helped Scientists Fight COVID-19

Published

on

Dolly Parton will be remembered for writing timeless songs, building an entertainment empire, and helping millions of children discover the joy of reading. However, one easily forgotten chapter of the country legend’s legacy unfolded far away from the stage.

During the earliest and most uncertain days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Parton donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her gift supported several research projects, including critical early work connected to Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine. Although Parton never tried to claim credit for the scientific breakthrough, researchers made it clear that her contribution helped them move important work forward at a moment when time mattered enormously.

Parton announced her donation in April 2020, as researchers around the world raced to understand the emerging coronavirus and search for potential treatments. The singer said she decided to help after speaking with her longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, a Vanderbilt professor of surgery who told her about the medical center’s progress.

Parton contributed $1 million to Vanderbilt’s COVID-19 research efforts and encouraged others who had the financial ability to make donations of their own. “I felt like this was the time for me to open my heart and my hand, and try to help,” she explained in Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s announcement.

The donation created the Dolly Parton COVID-19 Research Fund, which supported scientists examining potential treatments and methods of preventing the infection. At the time, Vanderbilt researchers were testing existing medications that could potentially reduce severe symptoms. Other teams were studying new therapies and preparing for the possibility of a vaccine.

A Chance Friendship Inspired Parton’s Gift

The donation grew from a friendship that began under unexpected circumstances. Parton and Abumrad reportedly became close after the singer received treatment at Vanderbilt following a 2013 car accident. Despite their dramatically different public profiles, they discovered similarities in their childhoods.

Parton was raised in poverty in the mountains of East Tennessee, while Abumrad grew up in a poor mountain village in Lebanon. Their friendship lasted long after Parton’s treatment ended. When the pandemic began, Abumrad told her about the urgent research taking place at Vanderbilt.

He later said that he did not need to ask Parton to contribute. She offered to help after learning about the work. That decision placed her money behind researchers during a crucial early period, when scientists were trying to build the tools needed to evaluate possible vaccines and treatments.

Her Name Appeared In A Moderna Vaccine Study

The wider significance of Parton’s gift became public in November 2020, when people noticed her name in a scientific paper connected to Moderna’s vaccine. The Dolly Parton COVID-19 Research Fund appeared among the funding sources acknowledged in a preliminary report published by the New England Journal of Medicine.

The study examined the safety of Moderna’s experimental mRNA-1273 vaccine and whether it produced an immune response in participants. Researchers found that the vaccine generated immune responses in all participants who were evaluated, supporting its continued development.

Parton’s donation did not independently finance the vaccine or pay for its entire development. The enormous research effort also received substantial support from the National Institutes of Health and several other institutions. Her money did, however, help Vanderbilt researchers complete an important piece of the process.

What Dolly Parton’s Money Actually Supported

Vanderbilt researcher Dr. Mark Denison explained that Parton’s gift helped fund critical early research and the development of a test used during the vaccine’s evaluation. “Her money helped us develop the test that we used to first show that the Moderna vaccine was giving people a good immune response that might protect them,” Vanderbilt explained.

The test allowed researchers to determine whether participants were developing an immune response that could potentially protect them from COVID-19. That distinction is important. Parton did not personally develop Moderna’s vaccine, nor was she its sole financial backer. Her gift provided early support for scientists carrying out one specific but meaningful part of a much larger research effort.

The fund also supported other pandemic-related work at Vanderbilt, including studies involving convalescent plasma and the development of virus-fighting antibodies.

The Country Legend Refused To Take Too Much Credit

As Parton’s connection to the Moderna research spread, social media users celebrated the singer as an unexpected hero of the pandemic. Parton was delighted that her money had helped, but she remained characteristically humble about her involvement.

During a November 2020 appearance on “Today,” she said she had simply wanted the donation to do some good and was pleased to learn that it had. Later, on BBC’s “The One Show,” Parton described her contribution as “little seed money” that she hoped could grow into something capable of helping the world.

She later admitted that she probably received “a lot more credit than I deserve,” emphasizing that her donation represented only a small part of the enormous scientific effort.

The response reflected the philosophy behind much of Parton’s charitable work. She identified a tangible need, provided practical assistance, and allowed the people closest to the problem to determine how that money could be used most effectively.

Dolly Parton Later Received The Moderna Vaccine

Parton’s involvement came full circle in March 2021, when she received her first dose of Moderna’s vaccine at Vanderbilt. Abumrad, the friend whose conversation inspired her original donation, administered the shot.

Before receiving it, Parton adapted her hit song “Jolene” into a playful vaccination tune. She then dropped the jokes and encouraged eligible people to get vaccinated so communities could begin moving toward normalcy.

Her support for Vanderbilt did not stop when the immediate vaccine breakthrough arrived. In 2022, Parton donated another $1 million to the medical center to advance pediatric infectious disease research.

“I love all children. No child should ever have to suffer, and I’m willing to do my part to try and keep as many of them as I can as healthy and safe as possible,” she said in Vanderbilt’s announcement of the later gift.

Britney Spears’ Son Teases Music Career

Published

on

Britney Spears

Britney Spears‘ sons are a living example of the apple not falling far from the tree!

One of the singer’s adorable boys may debut his musical project soon, making him the first in the family to follow in his iconic mother’s footsteps while also pursuing other creative endeavors.

Britney Spears welcomed Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline with her former husband Kevin Federline in 2005 and 2006, respectively, before their parents parted ways in 2007.

The actress’ son, who landed his first cover of MAC Cosmetics’ digital editorial platform, MACzine, said the next item on his agenda is to share his music with the world “when he’s ready.”

Jayden, the singer’s youngest child, has shown interest in fashion and music by appearing on runways alongside Sean, who has also decided to focus on music and a modeling career.

In a previous interview with Vogue, Sean described music as the foundation of everything for him, noting that it is what he and Jayden have gravitated toward their whole lives. In his latest cover shoot with MACzine, Jayden also touched on another interest: self-care, especially his skincare routine.

He broke down the steps to make his face look flawless, including a face wash, moisturizer, and a facial spray. In the same breath, Jayden praised his girlfriend, Gabrielle, for making sure he never skips a day of his routine.

“My girlfriend does my whole routine for me, so if you wanna ask her about that, I think she’s the better person,” Jayden declared as reported by US Weekly.

How Jayden James Federline And Sean Preston Federline Took Over Paris Fashion Week

The Vetements Paris show in June marked a major milestone for the boys, as they made their runway debut and brought their meanest, fiercest catwalk. Jayden and Sean have kept a relatively low profile all these years, making this appearance a rare one for the budding celebrities.

Sean kept it bold on the runway with a flawless catwalk in an all-black ensemble featuring baggy jeans, an oversized satin blazer and tie. Jayden raised the roof by pairing a white tank top with light-wash jeans and topping off the look with accessories, including a brown belt and silver chains.

The outing comes months after both brothers appeared on their mother’s Instagram while spending time together in March. Around that time, Sean was also reported to have adopted the “Spears” last name, and Britney couldn’t be more grateful to be around her kids once more.

The singer and her ex, despite their failed marriage, seemed to have one thing in common: giving their sons a normal upbringing, as Kevin himself acknowledged earlier.

Britney Spears’ Youngest Son Broke Decade-Long Red Carpet Hiatus Amid New Career Chapter

E! Online noted in May that Jayden appeared on the red carpet for the Dior Cruise 2027 fashion show in Los Angeles, marking his first red carpet appearance since 2015.

Jayden looked super stylish in a green bomber jacket, plaid shirt, distressed jeans, and black boots combo as he posed alongside an unidentified brunette woman at the star-studded event.

The superstar’s increasingly public presence follows his move back to Los Angeles after previously living in Hawaii with his father and stepmother, Victoria Prince. The family relocated to Hawaii in 2023 with Britney’s legal consent after Victoria got a job offer and Kevin found new opportunities to pursue.

However, fashion is not Jayden’s only creative interest, as his father revealed in his 2025 memoir “You Thought You Knew” that Jayden returned to L.A. to pursue his musical ambitions.

He described his younger son as naturally energetic and creative, recalling his childhood talent for imitating sounds, stressing that those qualities have since developed into a passion for music.

How The ‘Toxic’ Singer’s Sons Influenced Her Rehab Journey

Sean and Jayden’s renewed relationship with Britney has yielded positive results in the actress’ life, giving them considerable influence as concerns over Britney’s health intensified.

After being arrested for driving under the influence, family members and loved ones reportedly tried and failed to get her into professional treatment until her sons intervened.

As shared by The Blast, close sources claimed that concerns grew when Britney also fired her sobriety coaches, forcing her sons to approach her with firmness and care, insisting that treatment is not something they would compromise on.

At that point, Britney had no choice but to do what her sons wanted, as refusing could affect their relationship, so she signed up for the 30-day program, although she initially stalled the process. The Grammy winner was arrested in March on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura County, California.

Authorities alleged the singer had been weaving between lanes on Highway 101 and appeared impaired by drugs and alcohol.

Britney Spears Revealed Her Sons Were Behind Her Decision To Agree With Conservatorship

In her 2023 memoir, the singer gave a more in-depth look into how deep her emotional bond with Sean and Jayden ran. Beyond the several slides of images on social media of the singer and her children on vacation, in parks, and everywhere else, she admitted that they stood at the center of one of the most crucial decisions of her life.

Britney revealed that her need to maintain that bond and access to her boys was one reason she agreed to sign up for the conservatorship program, which held her for 13 years.

She explained that following the rules allowed her to regain access to her kids after a tumultuous custody battle where she was often faced with the fear of never seeing them again.

In “The Woman In Me” memoir, Britney described motherhood as a very transformative experience that gave her life a new meaning and left her with intense love for her kids. She recalled growing a protective instinct towards them as they grew up before a very rowdy media era.

Donna Mills Recalls Dark Early Auditions With Andy Bachman

Published

on

Donna Mills Project Angel Food Lead with Love Five Year Anniversary Special

Old Hollywood has a way of looking pretty glamorous in hindsight. Ask Donna Mills about some of the auditions, though, and the picture gets a whole lot darker. During the August 24 episode of the Creators Inc. Podcast, the “Knots Landing” star sat down with host Andy Bachman and recalled what breaking into acting looked like for a young woman in New York, years before she became one of television’s most famous villains.

“You walk into the audition, and it’s in somebody’s apartment. It’s not a studio,” she explained. “And you look at the script and all of a sudden you’re supposed to be taking off your clothes, and then they start trying to paw you and stuff like that. It happened to me more than once when I was first starting out.”

When Bachman pointed out that “the feds would be on it quick” if the same thing happened today, Mills didn’t hesitate. “Yeah,” she agreed.

What she remembers just as clearly is how quickly the embarrassment turned inward. “As a young woman, you’re embarrassed,” she continued. “You go, ‘Why did I even go to that place? Why didn’t I think of this before this happened?’”

Now, she has no trouble putting the blame where it belonged. “There were a lot of guys back then that should have been taken off the streets,” she added.

Susan Sarandon And Jane Seymour Recall Their Own Disturbing Encounters

Jane Seymour at The Last Ship - Opening Night New York Premiere

Mills was hardly the only woman coming up in that era who learned to be wary of what could happen behind a closed door. Susan Sarandon has recalled an early New York audition where a man “practically threw” her onto a desk, while Jane Seymour said a “major producer” once summoned her to his home to watch a screen test, only for her to arrive and find him there alone.

Sarandon described the encounter as “really disgusting” and said the man’s attempt was unsuccessful. The actress did not identify him or reveal which role she had been pursuing at the time, but said the incident occurred during her early days of attending auditions in New York.

Seymour’s experience reportedly had an even longer-lasting effect on her career. The actress said she had traveled to Hollywood for a screen test when another producer expressed interest in casting her in a separate movie. Her agent and the producer connected to the project she had already auditioned for were reportedly excited about the opportunity, but Seymour found no one at the producer’s home when she arrived.

Jane Seymour Says The Encounter Nearly Ended Her Acting Career

After showing Seymour her screen test, the producer allegedly told her he had already convinced everyone that she was perfect for his movie before suggesting it was her turn to do something for him. When Seymour said she believed her responsibility was to deliver another strong screen test, he allegedly placed his hand on her thigh.

Seymour pulled away and asked to leave, but the producer allegedly warned her not to tell anyone she had been at his home or risk never working again. She said the experience left her terrified and caused her to step away from acting for an entire year. “It stopped me from being an actress a whole year, and I could’ve quit the profession completely,” Seymour recalled, explaining just how deeply the encounter affected her.

Donna Mills Says Her ‘Knots Landing’ Role Changed Everything

For actresses trying to break in, apparently figuring out whether the audition was actually an audition could be part of the job.

Things looked different once Mills was playing Abby Cunningham, the ruthless blonde who spent nine seasons wreaking havoc on the “Knots Landing” cul-de-sac. “Most of the men seemed to be a bit scared of me because she was such a strong woman,” she noted. “They wouldn’t try anything with me.”

The role put Mills at the center of one of primetime’s biggest soaps. The “Dallas” spinoff ran for 14 seasons on CBS, climbed as high as No. 9 in the Nielsen rankings and is now streaming again on Prime Video and Plex.

Her fans, however, aren’t only finding her there.

Donna Mills Is Already Earning ‘Many Six Figures’ On OF

ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA

On July 30, Mills announced that she had joined OF with Creators Inc., the management company run by Bachman, who also serves as her manager. “I’ve always appreciated the incredible support and encouragement I’ve received from my fans over the years. Social media has been a wonderful way to stay connected, but I’m excited to join OF because it offers the opportunity for a more personal and direct connection,” she said in a statement to Variety.

That connection appears to be paying off. During their conversation, Bachman said Mills is already doing “many six figures” on the platform, just weeks after joining.

It’s familiar territory for the industry veteran, whose Creators Inc. has increasingly helped established stars turn longtime audiences into direct-to-fan businesses. He managed Shannon Elizabeth’s OF launch, which grossed more than $1.2 million in its first week, and has also worked with names including Jaime Pressly, Denise Richards and Carmen Electra.

“Everyone in this space has been monetizing attention,” Bachman told Entrepreneur earlier this year. “Almost nobody’s been monetizing access.”

Dolly Parton’s Last Song to Release in 2046: What to Know

Dolly Partons Health Updates Everything She Has Said About Her Illness

Before her death, Dolly Parton long planned a surprise for fans to keep her legacy alive.

The country music icon, who died at age 80 on Tuesday, August 25, recorded and locked away a new song around a decade ago at her Dollywood DreamMore Resort & Spa in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Parton died on Tuesday after a “brief battle with cancer,” her representatives confirmed.

“Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched. Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand,” a spokesperson for the late singer told People in a statement. “Whether it be the hundreds of millions of books donated through her invaluable Imagination Library or funding research that helped create a lifesaving vaccine used around the world, Dolly’s unconditional love for all people was the guiding force for her lasting impact.”

Where Is the Recording of Dolly Parton’s Last Song?

The recording of “My Place in History,” locked inside a chestnut box, is on display in the lobby of the DreamMore Resort & Spa.

“This chestnut ‘Dream Box’ is a repository of Dolly’s memories and wishes for the future. It will not be opened until Dolly’s 100th birthday on January 19, 2046,” a gold engraved plaque displayed alongside the box reads, per a photo published by Business Insider.

“The Dream Box itself is a tribute to her original mentor and uncle, Bill Owens, who has worked tirelessly to preserve the American Chestnut tree,” the plaque says.

It adds, “As a final tribute, Dolly has placed a song which she has written to be released as her last. Entitled, ‘My Place in History,’ only Dolly knows its melody and content until 2046.”

What Has Dolly Parton Said About the Song?

In her 2020 book, Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, the “Jolene” hitmaker wrote of the unheard track, “I don’t know if I want to live to be 100 or not. But you never know. I might, and if I do, I’m going to be at that opening.”

“There’s no telling what music is going to be by then. Hopefully, it will play and the whole thing ain’t rotted,” she added.

During a 2022 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Parton joked that the time capsule had “bothered” her because, “I wanna go dig that up so bad.”

Parton said “it’s a really good song,” but worried that the recording “might disintegrate” before the capsule can be opened.

“That’s what bothers me, to think it’s gonna be a song that nobody’s ever gonna hear if it rots in there before they open it,” she said.

90 Day Fiance: Rasit

On 90 Day FianceRasit Kebabci celebrates his bachelor party with a trip to the strip club and learns quickly how to make it rain. Shea McGuire and Annabelle Chua officially tie the knot in a quaint ceremony. Marissa Rubinetti gets Edward Miguel Gomez to sign a prenup. And Catie Norboe agrees to commit to Josh Atkins only. Let’s break it all down in this recap of Season 12, Episode 16 Last Fling Before The Ring.

90 Day Fiance: Rasit Enjoys an American Tradition

It hasn’t been easy for Rasit Kebabci to adapt to American culture. And his beef with Mallorie DeGrange’s pal Brandon only made things worse. But after Brandon stood up for him over Mallorie wanting a prenup he’s considers him a brother now. Rasit compromised on having kids right away so Mallorie agreed to drop the prenup. So, it’s time for Rasit to experience the American tradition of a bachelor party at an Alabama strip club.

His good friend Chiat arrives for the party. Rasit Kebabci is thrilled to have him on board. He is also Turkish but now resides in New Jersey. While the guys and girls both hop on a party bus, the guys hit the strip club and the girls opt for an outdoor bar. Rasit is in awe of the dancers and Brandon gets him a seat at the stage and a lap dance. Rasit is awkward at first but ends up on the pole himself and loving the attention. Brandon is proud of him and Rasit rains dollars on a stripper whose tattoo reads “pay me”.

On the other side of town Mallorie enjoys attention from some bikers on 90 Day Fiance, But over shots the conversation turns serious when she reveals her dad won’t be attending the wedding due to Rasit Kebabci being muslim. It’s hurtful and she hasn’t told Rasit yet. Because he has such a strong relationship with his own family. The friends rally around her suggesting that they can be family for her and Rasit.

90 Day Fiance: Shea and Annabelle Tie the Knot

Shea McGuire is about to marry the love of his life on 90 Day Fiance. It’s been a long road for Shea and Annabelle Chua. And things got a little tense when his daughters brought up what will happen in his will once he marries. This upsets Annabelle but Shea reassures her she will be taken care of. The relationship between Annabelle and his daughters hasn’t always been good. But the day of the wedding the girls help Annabelle with hair and makeup.

Things were tough when Annabelle first arrived between her and Shea’s daughter Allison. But Allison admits how much she likes hanging out with Annabelle in spite of trying to sabotage things in the beginning. She paints Annabelle’s nails and assures her they are off to a fresh start. Annabelle Chua is missing her family so this makes her emotional but also very happy. And now it’s time to go to the chapel and marry Shea.

The wedding is held at a quaint outdoor chapel on 90 Day Fiance. Shea wrote his own vows and they are very heartfelt. He also praises Annabelle for changing his life and his perspective with her positive attitude. When the ceremony is over they head to the cabin to party. Even Annabelle is ready to party. And the daughters all agree that their dad found the perfect person for him.

TLC Couple Marissa and Edward Prepare to Wed

Marissa Rubinetti and Edward Miguel Gomez talk the morning after a big fight at dinner the night before. Both admit to being in the wrong. And Marissa blames her behavior on being “hangry”. This term is new to Edward and he gets a kick out of it. Marissa assures Edward that her doubts about getting married are over. And she’s thrilled when he hands over the prenup he signed. They joke about her assets and his lack of assets.

The 90 Day Fiance couple head to their wedding venue to check things out. In spite of Marissa’s reassurances, Edward is nervous at the venue as to whether she’s really all in. Later Marissa meets with her mom to sample wines for wedding. Her mom is concerned about Marissa having to support Edward for 10 years in the event of a divorce. She consults a lawyer about it. And calls her up to explain the terms to Marissa. But Marissa stands by Edward. And says she has to trust him.

90 Day Fiance: Josh Atkins wants Catie to Commit

On 90 Day Fiance, it’s wedding time for Josh Atkins and Catie Norboe. Josh’s friends arrive to celebrate his last night as a bachelor. But no strip club for Josh. The tradition in London is for friends to plan a “stag do”. Which is a little more like hazing the groom to be. His friends hand him a gift to take into the restroom. And Josh emerges in a sparkly British flag dress and wig. It’s reminiscent of the Spice Girls. And his name would easily be Hairy Spice.

He’s a good sport in spite of some teasing at the bar. He confides his fears about Catie’s fidelity to his friends. And they strongly suggest Josh make it clear that he wants monogamy in the marriage. Later in bed Josh tells Catie he wants a full on commitment if they are going to get married. Catie balks a little. But tells Josh she is on board and willing to fully commit to only him but not before briefly asking about a threesome.

 Paula’s Had Enough of Thomas

On 90 Day Fiance, Thomas Dintino bicycles through the streets of LA with Paula Barbosa hanging on the back of the bike begging him to slow down. As Thomas often does he blames Paula for holding her phone and not holding on with two hands. They are going out to a nice dinner. But the bike ride has messed up Paula’s hair. Not to mention she was uncomfortable because she’s wearing a dress.

Paula expresses her frustration over Thomas’s reluctance to consider her comfort. He sees nothing wrong with the bike ride since it saved money on parking. Paula admits she is having serious doubts about following through on the wedding. Thomas gaslights, accusing her of taking the easy way out. She unleashes on him in Portuguese. Leaving Thomas to wonder if they’ll even be walking down the aisle. Till next time!

Alan Ritchson’s Forgotten 146-Minute Sci-Fi Action Epic Officially Hits Netflix

Published

on

Alan Ritchson on the red carpet

Few stars can say they’ve had as successful a year as Alan Ritchson, who headlined one of the biggest sci-fi movies of the year in War Machine. The Predator-style sci-fi film was not given a wide theatrical release and was instead dropped straight to streaming on Netflix, but it did well enough to earn a spot in the streamer’s all-time top 10 most-watched movies list. Netflix has already officially announced that a sequel to the film titled War Machines is in early development and expected to be released sometime in the next few years. Ritchson can also be seen on Prime Video returning to his role as Jack Reacher in the hit action series inspired by the novels by Lee Child. Reacher Season 4 is currently the #1 show in the world right now.

Some fans may have forgotten, but Ritchson played a small role as one of the contestants in the 2013 Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, which grossed over $800 million at the box office. Ritchson’s Gloss takes an arrow to the chest after killing Wiress in front of her, and Ritchson has confirmed that he originally filmed a much more brutal death scene where he took his arrow straight to the face — that scene ultimately didn’t make the final cut. For fans who want to relive a rare death from a Ritchson-played character, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is streaming exclusively on Netflix right now, and fortunately for fans, the streamer has not announced any plans for the film to leave the platform in the next month or two.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.
