Adele’s partner on season 35 of DWTS will be announced on the Wednesday, September 2, episode of Good Morning America alongside the full cast of pros and celebrities.

During Monday’s episode, Adele danced both a samba and a paso doble freestyle with former DWTS contestant Nev Schulman in front of a live audience.

“Adele, so dynamic. Striking performances every dance that you have done on this stage. It’s been an honor to watch and to judge you,” Mark said after both of her performances.

Adele beat runner-up AJ Pritchard, who performed with Charli D’Amelio.

“Having the opportunity to dance in the finale, especially with Charli, every single moment was just so enriching and something I will never forget for the rest of my life. At the same time, obviously absolutely devastated from every being in my body,” AJ said of placing second.

Ahead of her final performance, Adele became emotional while opening up about her health journey.

“It’s crazy because dance has always been my therapy. When I was 13, I got scoliosis in my back and I had to wear a brace for 2.5 years for 20 hours every single day,” she said. “The doctors said if I wouldn’t do it, I would not be able to dance. So these four hours that I was not wearing it, I was dancing. They were the happiest hours of my life. It saved me and I don’t know what I would do if I wouldn’t have dance.”

Although she is gone, they can still look forward to hearing something new from the country legend. As reported by The Blast, the singer secretly recorded one song years ago, which has since been locked away at her DreamMore Resort in Tennessee.

The track, reportedly titled “My Place in History,” will, however, not be available to fans until two decades later. 

Parton left strict instructions that it not be released until her milestone 100th birthday on January 19, 2046, thereby turning it into a historical musical time capsule.

The piece of the legacy is kept inside a chestnut “Dream Box,” sitting behind glass at the resort, which opened in 2015 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The 100th birthday recording isn’t the only gift left behind by the “Coat of Many Colors” songstress.

Insiders close to Parton have since confirmed that she had a secret archive of scores of unreleased songs, which was kept under tight security.

“The songs are hidden very safely in ‘The Vault’; that is what she called her secret storage place for her music,” claimed the source, per The Blast. “They are protected and very secure. There could be as many as 200 songs; no one really knows because Dolly was very secretive.”

Never one to be without a plan, the icon left instructions for how the songs would be managed, as she had deliberately prepared “posthumous music.”

She Will Also Live On Through Her Imagination Library

Parton’s music was only a part of her impressive legacy, which was mainly philanthropy. She leveraged her fame and wealth to spread love and hope to millions, especially children.

One of her most notable projects was the Imagination Library, a program geared to improving childhood literacy. Founded in 1995 through The Dollywood Foundation, she was inspired by her father, Robert Lee Parton, whom she described as the smartest man, but he couldn’t read or write.

The program, which was first launched locally to provide community kids access to books, has since become a global source of hope, available in over six countries.

According to The Blast, a rep for the singer has since urged fans to donate to the Imagination Library in lieu of flowers in the aftermath of her death.

Parton also left a piece of herself in her famous Dollywood Theme Park, created to bring joy to families all over the world. The management for the Tennessee Park released a statement after her death on August 25, unveiling plans to carry on her legacy

While mourning their Dreamer-in-chief, they revealed that they would instead honor Parton through celebration, music, and laughter rather than silence. 

Hence, the theme park would remain open in accordance with her wishes, per The Blast.

Bad Wolves guitarist AJ Rebollo has quit the heavy metal band after a dispute over the decision to release a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” just days after her death. Rebollo, who joined Bad Wolves as a touring guitarist in 2023, claimed the planned tribute became the “final nail in the coffin” following several disagreements with the group’s record label. The guitarist said members had opposed releasing the song after Parton died because she could no longer contribute the guest vocals that had reportedly been planned.

Rebollo announced his departure in a lengthy statement shared on social media. “I can no longer in good faith remain a member and co-sign the decisions constantly being made FOR this band by the label, among other issues I have with the inner workings of the business,” he said.

The guitarist acknowledged that he expected certain challenges when he joined Bad Wolves, but claimed he did not initially understand the full extent of the band’s internal problems. “When I stepped into the picture, a part of me knew what I was getting into, but the full extent of it was unknown to me,” he said.

“I have been at odds with one too many decisions being made for the band for quite some time, but the final nail in the coffin was the label’s decision to move forward with the upcoming Dolly Parton cover, after we blatantly expressed our opposition,” he added.

According to Rebollo, the band had been working on a heavy metal version of “Jolene” before Parton died at age 80 following a brief battle with cancer. The release proceeded despite opposition from multiple members, according to Rebollo’s account.

Dolly Parton Was Reportedly Set To Record Vocals

Bad Wolves founding drummer John Boecklin said the cover was initially intended to become a collaboration with Parton. The band had already recorded a demo featuring its new lead singer, Sara “Killboy” Skinner, and planned to include the track on its next album.

“Our new singer is a big fan of Dolly and had posted a bunch of videos of her covering ‘Jolene.’ So, we decided to make a heavy metal cover version for our next album,” Boecklin said. “On hearing our version, our label CEO Dan Waite sent the finished demo to Dolly’s manager Danny Nozell with a request for Dolly to guest feature on our version.”

He said they heard back that Danny had played the track to Dolly, and that “Dolly loved our version, and that Dolly was going to go into the studio and add her vocals very soon.”

The band then “sent over the stems for Dolly’s studio engineers to work with,” and “like everyone, we were devastated [by] this week’s news of Dolly’s passing.” The band said they will honor Dolly’s “incredible legacy by donating proceeds from ‘Jolene’ to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.”

Parton reportedly heard and approved the group’s rendition before her death, but did not record her contribution.

Guitarist Worried About How The Tribute Would Look

Rebollo claimed members no longer wanted to release the track once a collaboration with Parton became impossible. “We, as an entity, told the label we had no interest in releasing the cover after learning of Dolly’s unfortunate passing as her collaboration on the song was no longer a possibility,” Rebollo said. “And we felt it would (understandably) be interpreted as somewhat of a capitalization on her passing from an outside perspective.”

Although Rebollo supported donating proceeds to Parton’s literacy nonprofit, he remained uncomfortable with the decision and its timing. “While the donation to her Imagination Library is an incredible choice to do something good with the profits, I can’t help but feel there is ill intent behind the decision to release the song,” Rebollo said.

The guitarist did not accuse his bandmates of attempting to exploit Parton’s death. Instead, his criticism was directed toward decisions he alleged were being made by the label without sufficient regard for the band’s wishes.

Label Disagreements Allegedly Took A Mental Toll

Rebollo said the “Jolene” dispute reflected a larger pattern of frustration behind the scenes. “With the label completely disregarding numerous decisions we make out of passion, and ultimately just unknowingly exhausting the band’s attempts to fully enjoy being here, I am no longer happy here,” Rebollo said.

He added, “The amount of hate, negativity, and harassment we receive on a daily basis due to decisions made outside of our control has taken a massive toll on our sanity.”

Despite leaving without another job secured, Rebollo said he could no longer compromise his artistic values. “…I have no interest in being a vessel for what I believe to be terrible decisions,” Rebollo said. “Music is my job, my livelihood, and most importantly, my passion.”

He continued, “Stepping away from this is absolutely terrifying as I am sacrificing what little I have left when it comes to stability within the music world. I do not know what the future holds for me regarding that.”

Rebollo also thanked Boecklin and the label for helping him support himself during his time with the band.

Rebollo Insists He Has No Ill Will Toward Bad Wolves

Although his exit was prompted by a major dispute, Rebollo emphasized that he still cared about the musicians he worked alongside. “This is not, by any means, some sort of call to arms against anyone, nor do I wish ill will on anyone involved in the label’s decision making,” he said.

“I absolutely loved the time I got to spend with the band. I love them all (the old and new members) as bandmates, people, and friends,” Rebollo continued. “I loved creating this upcoming album with them as I think it is a genuinely incredible piece of art, but this is a decision I just have to make.”

Bad Wolves was co-founded by Boecklin in 2017. The group achieved a multi-platinum breakthrough the following year with its cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan had reportedly planned to record vocals for the track before her death in January 2018. The song was subsequently released without her contribution and became Bad Wolves’ biggest commercial success.

Boecklin is now the only founding member who remains in Bad Wolves. The group’s previous lineup has included vocalist Tommy Vext, guitarists Doc Coyle and Chris Cain, and bassist Kyle Konkiel.

A release date has not been announced for the band’s fifth full-length album.

It comes as the “Jolene” singer’s family confirmed that she has been laid to rest in a private cemetery close to her husband of several decades, Carl Dean.

For the people of East Tennessee, Dolly Parton was not just a global superstar who sold tens of millions of records; she was family in every sense of the word.

Born and raised in a small cabin in Locust Ridge, her humble mountain beginnings were reflected in her career and helped put Appalachian culture on the world map.

Even after achieving global stardom, the “9 to 5” singer chose to remain with her people and help build their community in the little way she could.

Back in 2020, she donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for research work on a COVID vaccine. She also helped to raise the same amount for a hospital project that eventually housed the Dolly Parton Center for Women’s Services in Sevierville.

She was so well loved that a local florist, Dustin Manning, revealed that he received orders from Germany and Korea for bouquets to be left for her in large numbers.

There were so many that they had to remove the first batch and donate them to hospitals and homes for the elderly before more arrived.

“The best gift is given twice,” Manning said, paraphrasing Parton.

Alongside several of her well-known charitable efforts, like the Imagination Library, which donates millions of books to children to encourage literacy, Parton also made a quiet impact in the lives of many families in the area.

Following the 2016 Smoky Mountain fires that ravaged nearby Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, her Dollywood Foundation gave 900 families $1,000 a month for six months, and backed that up with a final payment of $5,000.

“She was here before FEMA,” resident Michael Gibson said, referring to the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Reports suggest she also donated money when Hurricane Helene hit the region in 2024, saying she loved her “mountain people.”

Hundreds of locals and traveling fans have gathered around the community to pay their last respects to the global icon in the days following her death.

Parton Was Also Known For Her Work With Children

Parton’s work with the children’s hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee, cannot be overemphasized.

Formerly named East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, it was renamed after her in recognition of the “generational and transformational commitment” she made to the establishment.

“I’ve always believed every child deserves to grow up healthy, hopeful and surrounded with love,” Parton said in a video statement.

The hospital’s chief executive, Matt Schaefer, reiterated the big role Parton played in the establishment, saying her gift would create a “halo effect of everything she stood for in her life, including her love for children in particular.”

It is said that 60% of the patients there receive free treatment, with the cost largely taken care of by donations.

“We really depend on donations,” said Natalia Havasy, the hospital’s director of marketing. “We felt the children’s hospital in town should be hers. The halo effect of Dolly… you just can’t touch it.”

The Queen of Country died on Tuesday, August 25, following a brief battle with cancer.

Her family confirmed she was laid to rest beside her late husband, Carl Dean, at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Friday, August 28.

In a 2014 interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said that she expected Whitney Houston’s cover of her song “I Will Always Love You” to be played, and would like for the hymn “If We Never Meet Again” to be sung, explaining that it was her father’s favorite.

“It’s an old country-gospel church song that talks about, ‘If we never meet again this side of heaven, I will meet you on that beautiful shore,’” she said. “That was my daddy’s favorite. We did sing it at his funeral, and I would like it to be sung at mine.”

Lori Loughlin is making her highly anticipated return to social media after her prison stay following the public college admissions scandal — and her Full House costars helped make the moment a special one.

Following Jessica’s announcement, Mama June weighed in on her daughter’s separation and accused Shyann of being unfaithful.

Shortly after Mama June’s post made headlines, Shyann confessed that she did cheat on Jessica.

“I take full responsibility for [cheating],” Shyann wrote via Facebook on July 21. “I’m not making excuses, and I’m not trying to change what happened. I’m also not saying I wish none of this had been posted. I understand that when I post parts of my life, I’m opening the door for people to have opinions.”

One week later, Jessica officially filed for divorce from Shyann, listing their date of separation as June 1. The divorce papers were signed on July 17, with Jessica citing that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

John Galliano has withdrawn the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition honoring his work after plans to celebrate the controversial designer sparked widespread criticism. The exhibition was scheduled to open on May 3 in connection with the 2027 Met Gala, but Galliano announced Monday that it would no longer move forward at this time. The backlash centered on antisemitic remarks Galliano made during a 2011 incident in Paris, which resulted in his firing from Dior and a conviction in a French court.

Galliano confirmed his decision in a statement shared on Instagram. “After much reflection and discussion with all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time,” he wrote.

The designer explained that he did not want the controversy surrounding his past to place additional pressure on the Met or overshadow the work of its Costume Institute. “I do not want the debate surrounding me to place the Met in a difficult position or to distract from the remarkable work of the Costume Institute. I also recognize and respect that the exhibition honoring my work would be painful for some,” Galliano added.

The statement did not indicate whether the exhibition could be reconsidered at a later date.

Galliano’s withdrawal ends months of debate over whether his artistic influence could be celebrated without minimizing the conduct that destroyed his relationship with Dior.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art first announced in July that Galliano’s work would become the focus of the Costume Institute’s next major exhibition. The annual exhibition traditionally serves as the theme and creative centerpiece of the Met Gala, which brings together celebrities, designers and other prominent figures in fashion and entertainment.

Anna Wintour, Vogue’s global editorial director and a Met trustee, oversees the gala. Galliano’s exhibition would have made him only the third living designer to receive a solo presentation at the Met. Yves Saint Laurent received the distinction in 1983, followed by Rei Kawakubo in 2017. However, the decision to place Galliano in that exclusive company prompted renewed scrutiny of his past.

The Blast previously reported that Wintour had met with New York City’s “influential rabbis and Jewish leaders” to discuss concerns surrounding the exhibition. Galliano and Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton also reportedly participated in conversations intended to address the controversy before the exhibition opened.

Met Curator Acknowledged The Ethical Challenge

The exhibition placed organizers in the difficult position of attempting to examine Galliano’s contributions to fashion while fully confronting the behavior that cost him one of the industry’s most prestigious jobs. Bolton had reportedly considered organizing a Galliano exhibition since 2010, before the designer’s career was derailed by the Paris incident.

The curator acknowledged that the presentation would need to “hold artistic achievement and ethical accountability together without allowing one to erase the other.” That challenge became central to the backlash.

Galliano is credited with helping transform Dior into a global luxury powerhouse through his elaborate runway shows and theatrical designs. However, critics questioned whether a solo Met exhibition would elevate his creative achievements while reducing his antisemitic conduct to a chapter of his career history.

Galliano’s withdrawal means the Met will no longer have to navigate that question through the planned exhibition, at least for now.

Designer Was Fired From Dior Following 2011 Incident

Galliano was serving as Dior’s creative director when video footage surfaced of him making antisemitic remarks while intoxicated at a Paris café. During the incident, he declared, “I love Hitler.”

Dior fired Galliano after the footage became public. A French court later found him guilty of public insults based on religion, race and ethnicity. The designer was ordered to pay a fine, damages and court costs.

Galliano subsequently apologized and claimed he could not remember the incident because he was struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction. He withdrew from public life for approximately two years, entered rehabilitation and later met with Jewish leaders and rabbis.

Some organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, acknowledged his rehabilitation efforts. However, those steps did not erase the pain caused by his remarks or eliminate criticism of institutions choosing to honor him.

Met Gala Plans Now Face An Uncertain Future

A lasting love! Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are the definition of relationship goals, but they have also worked hard to ensure the longevity of their romance.

The Being Mary Jane alum and former Miami Heat baller met in 2007 while cohosting a sponsored Super Bowl party. Though things appeared to be heating up between the pair, they briefly called it quits in early 2013.

The lovebirds reconciled and got engaged in December 2013 after taking some time apart. Union and Wade tied the knot in August 2014 in a lavish ceremony in Miami.

Four years after their nuptials, the duo welcomed their daughter Kaavia via surrogate after Union suffered multiple miscarriages. The retired NBA star, who welcomed children Zaire in 2002 and Zaya in 2007 with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, has had sole custody of his oldest kids since 2011. He was also awarded full custody of his nephew, Dahveon, in 2014.

Wade and Union faced another challenge in their relationship when he welcomed son Xavier in 2013 with Aja Metoyer while on a break from the actress. In his 2020 ESPN documentary, D. Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 was far from the cultural juggernaut of his previous film Parasite. But the film — which marked Korean director Bong’s return to working in English after Snowpiercer and the offbeat creature feature Okja —still gave audiences the dark comedy and suspense of his best films, with an unexpected secret ingredient: two Robert Pattinsons. A dystopian science fiction story about Earthlings colonizing a distant world, the movie is a direct mirror to contemporary life in the way the best sci-fi can be. Viewers didn’t necessarily agree at the time, as the movie lost Warner Bros. Discovery roughly $75 million during its theatrical run according to Variety. But if any movie deserves to find a strong cult audience after bombing theatrically, it’s Mickey 17, which has the claim to being Bong’s best English-language film and a masterfully grotesque satire about the wicked solipsism of the wealthy.

At the center of the movie’s satire is Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) himself, the 17th clone of a man who was desperate enough to sign away his life (and future lives) to a potentially suicidal space mission. Based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, the movie crafts a rich sense of space and life on the spaceship, complete with internal politicking and a strict hierarchy favoring the politician leading the exposition: Kenneth Marshall (Mark Ruffalo), whose plastic features, blustery voice, and desire for more resources announces him as a critique of a very particular kind of leader. Mickey, by comparison, is happy to just be able to hang out with his girlfriend Nasha (Naomi Ackie) and die in more and more ways (ten more than in the original novel, in fact).

‘Mickey 17’ Has the Same Pros and Cons of Bong Joon Ho’s Other English Films

Mickey 17 is something of a mix of Bong Joon Ho’s two earlier English efforts (with a fair bit of the eccentricity of his original Korean films included). Snowpiercer’s sci-fi dystopia, set on a vessel moving through an icy world, crammed the have-nots onto the back of a train with no hope for progress, and Okja’s tale of a genetically modified super pig revealed the extent of Bong’s love of putting cute critters through the ringer to demonstrate the cruelty of the bad guys. On Niflheim, the ice world of Mickey 17, the cute creatures are called Creepers, and they become the key to the movie’s satirical sensibility. As the indigenous population receiving the hostile Earthlings, they are immediately a thorn in the humans’ side.

Mickey is inconvenient for them as well. By signing himself up to die repeatedly for the sake of the expedition, he has effectively doomed himself to an eternity of servitude. In the movie’s cold open, he’s even left behind to die by his buddy Timo (Steven Yeun), who we later learn to have been a bit of a scumbag on Earth, as well. Mickey survives due to the protection of the Creepers, but his return is too late — there is already a Mickey 18 (Robert Pattinson), who’s cooler and angrier than the goofy 17 and whose very existence suggests a paradox. The movie establishes early on that cloning is a controversial science in this world, and one way people like Marshall escape any ethical quandaries is by confirming that any redundant clones will get killed on sight. The Mickey clones are trapped, and that — as well as 18’s defiant personality — leads to a wild third act that puts the ruling class on the ropes.

While Mickey 17 thrusts this group of humans and clones into a pressure cooker and lets the action flow, it also tells a moving, if obvious, political story. The people in charge of the expedition — Marshall, his wife Ylfa (Toni Collette), and their various cronies — are fine with using a literal copying machine to create humans to die for them, just as they’re fine threatening annihilation to the Creepers. By using the ship as a miniature society ruled by people obsessed with wealth, power, and legacy, the movie also explores what it means to be considered “Expendable,” as Mickey’s initial job application states.

Mickey 17 is not quite as sharp as Bong Joon Ho’s previous Korean films, like his similarly-minded class thriller Parasite, in which the rich lived exceedingly nice lives while the poor had to fight for scraps. Nor does it have the tonal control of his 2003 serial killer epic Memories of Murder, which used a series of vile killings to explore the nature of obsession and the structure of a small town police department. In fact, Mickey 17 is probably a bit too eager to give viewers villains to root against and heroes to adore compared to Bong’s previous work, and its comedy relies a lot on Pattinson’s mugging, as well as its grimy Terry Gilliam-esque production design. But the movie is also fun and endearing, with Bong’s satirical sensibilities keeping everything running smoothly.
