Ex-Pakistan Coach Calls Out PCB, Brutally Exposes Reason Behind Pakistan’s Decline: “Absolutely Ridiculous”

Published

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s dramatic decision to sack Pakistan’s Test coaching staff and send seven players home midway through the series against England has left the cricket world in shock, and invited criticism from experts and fans alike. Former Australia and Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur joined the list of critics on Tuesday, slamming the PCB for their drastic step. Arthur, who coached Pakistan from 2016 to 2019, accused the PCB’s instability for causing the “mess” that Pakistan cricket finds itself in.

With Pakistan 2-0 down in the ongoing three-match Test tour against England, the PCB sent seven players from the squad home, including star names like Mohammed Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha.

Pakistan’s Test head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also released, and were replaced by their white-ball counterparts Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke.

Mickey Arthur made his frustration towards the PCB clear in a post on social media.

“Absolutely ridiculous decisions by the PCB – this is the reason they are in the mess they are in, because they constantly chop and change players, coaches and selectors, and there is no stability!” Arthur posted on his official X account.

“Planning, stability and structure = Consistent performance!!” he added.

Arthur had enjoyed a fairly successful stint as Pakistan’s head coach between 2016 and 2019, leading the Test and T20I teams to the No. 1 spot in the ICC rankings, and the ODI team to glory in the Champions Trophy 2017.

Incidentally, Sarfaraz Ahmed – Pakistan’s recently-sacked Test coach – was the captain of the Champions Trophy-winning side under Arthur.

Updated Pakistan Test squad for Birmingham Test: Babar Azam (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Arafat Minhas, Azan Awais, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ali, Muhammad Imran, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Razaullah, Saad Baig (wicketkeeper), Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood and Ubaid Shah

3 Positions that Look Weakest after Vikings Announce 53-Man Roster

The Minnesota Vikings announced their 53-man roster on Sunday with the usual mix of surprise inclusions and exclusions. After the dust has settled here are the three positions that look weakest on the Vikings’ initial depth chart.

3 Positions that Look Weakest after Vikings Announce 53-Man Roster

The makeup of the offense is certainly eye-raising, with the team beginning with four quarterbacks and going heavy on wide receivers and tight ends. It left the offensive line looking sparse, at least to begin. On the other side of the ball, it’s the edge where Minnesota looks short. Here are the three positions that look weakest as the Vikings roster currently stands.

Center

I’m unsure about the decision to go forward with Blake Brandel as the starting center. Brandel has done a decent job covering every position across the offensive line since he was drafted by the Vikings back in 2020. However, he has very little experience at center, and it feels like a big risk. To compound the issue, backup center Michael Jurgens will start the season on the Injured Reserve, meaning he will miss at least the first four games.

Minnesota also chose to waive seventh-round rookie Gavin Gerhardt. They moved to pick up Nick Samac on waivers, a former seventh-round pick who spent time in Baltimore before spending a year in Carolina. He has only seen the field on special teams. A veteran at the position who can be a competent backup was my wish, but the Vikings seem to see things differently. It could be a mistake.

Guard

The lack of depth extends to guard. Behind the starters Donovan Jackson and Will Fries, there is only Joe Huber alongside newcomer Trevor Keegan (and possibly Samac, who is listed at center).

Huber was picked up as an undrafted rookie last year and did well enough to make the roster and play in 12 games, including one start, while the Vikings went through an injury crisis in 2025. Huber will need to show serious development if he gets on the field this year, as his rookie season was a struggle.

Given the injury problems Minnesota had last season, it was surprising to see the team begin so light on the OL. The new adds may need to do some heavy lifting before long.

Outside Linebacker

Minnesota’s depth at outside linebacker was already looking flimsy before a torn ACL ended Tyler Batty’s season. It’s a shame for Batty, another undrafted player (from 2025) who had worked his way to almost certainly being on the roster. His injury now makes the need for the Vikings to add another OLB seem like a necessity.

Whether it’s looking at who’s left on the free-agent market or trying to fire up a trade, new Vikings GM Nolan Teasley needs to make his first big addition. There are high hopes for Dallas Turner this season and we know what Andrew Van Ginkel can do but behind them there is just Chaz Chambliss and Bo Richter. Not enough.

A popular AEW star sent out a message after being part of the All In 2026 pay-per-view.

The aforementioned star is one-half of Los Titanes del Aire, Komander. He recently competed in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet at All In 2026, entering the match as the eighth participant, but did not win. In a video posted on his X, Komander is seen at Wembley Stadium before the event. In the caption, he thanked All Elite Wrestling President and CEO Tony Khan for believing in him and giving him opportunities. You can check out the video below:

Komander has been involved in professional wrestling since the early 2010s, and he began his tenure in the Mexican independent circuit. In 2023, he made his debut in the Jacksonville-based promotion and also competed in their sister promotion, Ring of Honor. At the same time, the luchador also competed in matches for All Elite Wrestling’s partner company, CMLL.

As the 27-year-old star continues to put up spectacular performances with his lucha-style, his road is getting interesting in Tony Khan’s company.

Tony Khan on signing WWE legends who debuted at AEW All In 2026

At All In 2026, wrestling fans saw the debut of former WWE superstars Kofi and Austin Creed, now known as The New Level, and later learned they had been officially signed by the company. During the post-event media scrum, Tony Khan said he was excited to have two hard-working stars who wanted to be on television each week, which would bring more fans and attention to his company.

“Something that got me excited about New Level, these guys are not afraid to work very hard. They told me, ‘Hey, we see Jon Moxley at AEW Dynamite and Collision basically every week. We want to be at AEW Dynamite and Collision basically every week. We want to work really hard for the company. We’re going to be there practically every week.’ That’s really exciting to have people coming in like that. That’s only gonna bring more fans and attention.”

With All Elite Wrestling capping off a highly successful All In event, it remains to be seen what is next for the company.
