Can ‘Legs Up The Wall’ Pose Improve Vein Health?
I was scrolling on Instagram and a video stopped me in my tracks. Lifestyle content creator Katey Brigham was discussing how “one of the best things that a woman can do is legs-up-the-wall, almost every night”.
Legs-up-the-wall, or viparita karani, is a yoga pose which could help improve circulation, reduce lower-leg swelling, and aid relaxation, according to Cleveland Clinic.
“Our veins are going to age, and we never ever think about that,” Brigham said in a reel, suggesting that to improve vein health, people can simply lay down and lean their legs up against the wall for a few minutes each day.
“Vein health probably isn’t something most of us think about until we notice visible veins, swelling or aching in our legs,” Dr Nikki Ramskill, a GP verified on Doctify and founder of The Female Health Doctor Clinic, told HuffPost UK.
But our veins have an important job to do in the body – returning blood back towards the heart, often working against gravity when we’re standing or sitting.
“As we age, the valves inside the veins can become less effective, making it easier for blood to pool in the legs. This can contribute to varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency,” Dr Ramskill explained.
Can putting your legs up against the wall improve vein health?
The doctor notes that while it’s not a perfect solution, it can certainly help with circulation.
“Elevating the legs can use gravity to help blood and fluid return towards the heart, so someone who experiences mild leg swelling or heaviness after being on their feet all day may find it temporarily relieving,” she explained.
“You don’t specifically need to lie on the floor with your legs against a wall, though – elevating your legs with a stool can help.”
That said, she notes it’s not a ‘detox’, won’t prevent every blood clot, and it isn’t a substitute for regular movement or treatment if you have underlying venous disease.
There are also some people who should steer clear of this pose. Per Cleveland Clinic, these include: people with glaucoma, those with conditions that cause excessive fluid volume in the body (including people with liver failure, kidney failure and heart failure), and those with unmanaged high blood pressure.
If you can’t do legs up the wall, or aren’t really interested, one of the best (and simplest) things you can do for your vein health is to move regularly, Dr Ramskill added.
“I’d actually put walking and regular movement much higher [than lying with legs raised] on the list for everyday vein health,” she said.
“Your calf muscles are one of your body’s natural mechanisms for helping venous blood travel back towards the heart, so keeping them moving is remarkably useful.”
People who spend lots of time sitting down or travel frequently should aim to get up and walk around regularly throughout the day. The doctor suggested even simple ankle pumps and calf raises while sitting can keep the muscles working.
Avoiding smoking and maintaining a healthy weight are also key for supporting healthy vein function.
Leg changes to watch out for
If you have visible veins, the doctor said “don’t panic” as spider veins and varicose veins are incredibly common, particularly as we get older.
She ended: “The important thing is knowing when a change is more than cosmetic: persistent swelling, pain, skin discolouration, wounds that aren’t healing or a sudden change in one leg are all reasons to seek medical advice.”

Jewish Groups Condemn Ed Miliband Over West Bank Sanctions
Jewish groups have condemned Ed Miliband after he announced sanctions on illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
The foreign secretary triggered a furious diplomatic row as he announced a “reset” of the UK’s relations with Israel.
In a statement to MPs, Miliband accused Israeli settlers in the West Bank of “ethnic cleansing” as he vowed to take action against those who provide services including finance and real estate for settlement expansion.
“All too often, the Israeli government has turned a blind eye to this and worse, members of it have made statements and taken actions to support the forced displacement of Palestinians,” he said.
Miliband’s statement was welcomed by the vast majority of Labour MPs, but the Israeli government responded by announcing the closure of the British consulate in Jerusalem.
The Jewish Leadership Council said the sanctions on trade with West Bank settlements “risks becoming a de facto boycott of Israel, giving legitimacy to those who reject Israel’s very existence”.
“The government is simply yielding to pressure from the most extreme elements of British society,” they said in a statement.
“They will continue to push the government to take increasingly radical action against Israel, to the detriment of peace in the Middle East and community relations in the UK.”
The Board of Deputies of British Jews expressed their “deep regret” at Miliband’s announcement.
In a statement, they said: “We have warned the UK government that it should know that protesters who cry ‘From the river to the sea’ will not be placated by any measures short of the destruction of the world’s only Jewish state.”
France, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden have all joined the UK is slapping sanctions on Israeli settlers today.
In a joint statement, the countries confirmed this action follows steps already taken by the Netherlands and Belgium.
Speaking before Miliband’s statement, Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, accused the UK government of “discrimination against Jews”.

Labour’s shameful surrender to the anti-Israel mob
We are being governed by a load of muppets. That is not my judgement, but that of an anonymous Labour MP, who told the Telegraph that the UK prime minister has been forced into sanctioning Israel by ‘muppet’ MPs who are ‘freaked out’ by email campaigns from Gaza activists and are worried about the anti-Israel Green Party stealing their seats.
Andy Burnham and his foreign secretary, Ed Miliband, will today announce a ban on goods and some services from Israeli settlements in the West Bank, among other sanctions on the Jewish State. The move is part of what Miliband has described as a ‘comprehensive resetting’ of the UK’s relations with Israel.
That is where we have got to in 2026. Britain now makes foreign policy to appease the most contemptible fringes of the far left. With a majority of 157, you’d have thought that the Labour government would not need to bend to these ‘freaked out’ backbenchers. But no.
With Sir Keir Starmer’s old seat of Holborn and St Pancras up for grabs in the coming weeks, and with the Greens as serious contenders, Burnham cannot afford to relax. Such is the deplorable state of British politics on the left: national self-interest is happily thrown away in the hope of staving off electoral disaster.
Theobald of Cambridge won’t ring a lot of bells these days. But for many Jews – particularly British Jews – this is where almost 900 years of suffering begins. He was the iniquitous scoundrel who, in 1144 in Norwich, falsely claimed that a local boy, William, had been killed by the Jews as part of their malevolent rituals. This was the first recorded instance of the blood libel, the ‘baby killers’ calumny that has been levelled at the Jews so maliciously ever since. Reader, Theobald was Jewish. ‘The commission of the crime was no secret to me’, he lied, after converting to Christianity.
Which brings us back to Miliband. Last week, Britain’s most influential Jewish politician, straight from a meeting with unnamed figures who had been ‘on the ground’ in Gaza, released a video filled with lurid allegations against Israel and its ‘horrific’ actions in the Hamas-run territory. Surprise, surprise, infanticide formed the centrepiece. ‘You know, the stories that people were telling me, of medicines being blocked, children dying while waiting for vital life-saving treatment’, he drearily intoned.
This emotive little clip was designed to set the stage for Labour’s new, hostile set of British policies towards the only democracy in the Middle East. ‘We as a UK government… have got to act, and act more decisively than we have’, Miliband concluded.
Ostensibly, Britain’s coming trade embargo against Israel is a response to the bullying of Palestinians by Jewish extremists in the West Bank. As reprehensible as those people are, those carrying out such crimes against the Palestinians number in the low hundreds at best, out of a population of about 530,000 ‘settlers’ and 10million Israelis.
Should confronting these extremists really be Britain’s priority? The Palestinian side, meanwhile, is infested with jihadism, which threatens us here at home almost as much as the Israelis, in a region notably short on democracy.
Here are four of the main things the British public stands to lose from Labour’s reset:
First, economic advantage. Bilateral trade between the UK and Israel stood at £5.9 billion last year, with a healthy British surplus bringing in billions in profits to the economy and supporting many thousands of jobs.
Second, security. Mossad has saved innumerable British lives with tip-offs over the years, a fact that has been openly acknowledged by MI5 as well as by the Israelis. When the British Army’s Challenger 3 tanks enter service next year, they will come equipped with the Trophy active defence system, which is an Israeli product similar to a mini Iron Dome. The British Army’s Watchkeeper drone is also Israeli, built in Leicester by Elbit, whose British arm employs almost 700 people.
Third, tech. One in seven boxes of medicine issued in Britain is produced by Teva, an Israeli pharmaceutical company. The ‘capsule camera’ used by the NHS so that tens of thousands of patients can avoid colonoscopies each year was invented by an Israeli missile engineer.
Fourth, international standing. It is not just the Israelis who have threatened retaliation against this hostile move by potentially removing Britain from involvement in the reconstruction of Gaza – Donald Trump has threatened the same.
Even before today’s announcement, the American administration accused Britain of anti-Semitism in response to Miliband’s video. Should the notoriously mercurial Trump turn this rhetoric into policy, the UK could be very vulnerable indeed. Can our economy cope with draconian American tariffs? And what if the White House were to recognise Argentina’s claim on the Falklands, as some Israeli ministers are now urging it to do?
The supposed trigger for Burnham and Miliband’s sanctions is Israeli building on E1, a four-mile area that would adjoin the West Bank Jewish town of Ma’ale Adumim to Jerusalem proper. The UK says this settlement threatens the prospect of a ‘two-state solution’ – which, as Simon Sebag Montefiore put it when Andrew Fox and I interviewed him on our podcast, The Brink, is an idea that has been embraced with all the fervour of a new religion.
There’s no need to go into the matter in detail. Suffice to say that the Palestinians have rejected a state that would fulfil all their demands, not once but at least twice. In the first instance, during the talks at Camp David mediated by Bill Clinton in 2000, Palestinian president Yasser Arafat was offered 92 per cent of the West Bank, with Israeli land to make up the difference, plus Gaza and a capital in East Jerusalem. Roughly the same offer was tabled again by Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert in 2008.
Both were turned down. ‘I tell people what Arafat walked away from, and they, like, can’t believe it’, Clinton recently lamented. ‘You can’t complain 25 years later when the doors weren’t all still open and all the possibilities weren’t still there.’
Only you can, it seems, when your jihadi brethren curry the sympathies of the world – not least the British government – by carrying out the worst atrocities since the Holocaust on 7 October 2023, then flooding us with propaganda in which they pose as the victims. That is perhaps the most deplorable aspect of all this. In our foreign policy, which is now apparently controlled as much by Labour backbenchers as the Foreign Office, Britain is treating the Middle East’s only democracy as an enemy and the jihadis, tyrants and corrupt regimes as friends.
Why the obsessive focus on the faults of our allies rather than the far greater evils of our enemies? Truly, we are undoing ourselves. As some readers may recall, before the religion of the two-state solution – as well as the national self-loathing and other assorted liberal dogmas that now grip our political elites – we had something called Christianity. Although I can’t claim to be a believer myself, perhaps Miliband, Burnham and the others might benefit from meditating on Matthew 23:24, in which Christ criticises the hypocrisy of the Pharisees: ‘You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.’

God I love it when virtue-signalling goes wrong
Don’t you love it when virtue-signalling goes wrong? When some progressive ponce gets so tangled in the weeds of woke jargon that they end up spouting pure shite? We’ve had not one but two such delicious moral implosions this past week, and even better they’ve involved two of the most insufferable women to ever draw breath. Buckle in.
First up was Miriam Margolyes, the Harry Potter actor turned chat-show parasite who never shuts the fuck up. She’s on my TV so often that I’ve seriously considered taking out a restraining order. She titillates the Radio 4 classes by saying ‘front bottom’ and recounting how she once wanked off a man in a bush in Edinburgh. Last week, finally, her ceaseless yapping landed her in hot water.
She was on This Morning, oozing smugness from every orifice, displaying her rectitude as usual. Put it away, ma’am! Everyone’s welcome in Britain, she was saying, regardless of their origins, yada yada. Then she turned to the host, poor old Andi Peters, who’s black. ‘What are you?’, she demanded. ‘You’re a mix, aren’t you?’, she said, no doubt causing mass wincing among the jobless hordes who watch this cursed show. Then came her killer question: ‘You’ve got a black daddy and a white mummy?’
Peters looked bamboozled, as well he might: he probably hasn’t been so crassly interrogated about his racial pedigree since the school playground. ‘Both my parents are black’, he awkwardly chuckled. But Margolyes wasn’t done. You’re not ‘deeply black’, she insisted. ‘You’re what I would call high yella.’ Jesus Christ, Miriam. Using a racial term described by the OED as ‘offensive’ and ‘outdated’ on daytime TV? Couldn’t you just have talked about your front bottom again?
My point, she said, is that ‘we welcome everybody’. Even high yellas! One envisions the producers whispering ‘Wrap this shit up’ in Andi’s ear lest Margolyes start prattling about mulattos. It could happen to any of us, I guess. One minute you’re breathlessly broadcasting your anti-racist credentials, the next you’re badgering a black man on live TV about his exact concentrations of melanin. Easy mistake. Margolyes hilariously made matters worse when she addressed the ‘race controversy’. I’m just ‘interested in how black people, fat people and cripples feel about who they are’, she said. Strewth. And what about spastics, Miriam?
Even among damp liberals who are usually tickled pink by Margolyes’ court-jester eccentricities, there’s been discomfort with her racial blather. Funny these folk weren’t likewise perturbed when she said ‘Hitler has won’ and turned Jews from ‘compassionate’ people into ‘vicious, genocidal’ warmongers. Oh sorry, I forgot: they don’t give a shit about Jews. Yet to my mind there’s a perverse logic to Margolyes’ televised racialism. It’s the bloody afterbirth of a cult of identity that instructs us not to ignore race but to see it.
A couple of generations ago, the virtuous thing was to approach individuals as just that – individuals, not proxies for their race. Now the ‘virtuous’ thing is to wang on about ‘white privilege’ and ‘black oppression’ and to treat everyone you meet as a bundle of pigment requiring either reprimand or pity. The end result of such cloying racial grandstanding is a foghorn celeb going on TV and basically saying: ‘You’re half black and half white and I DON’T CARE!’ Character, Miriam, not colour.
Next up was Stella Creasy, the Member of Parliament for Stella Creasy. Roll up, roll up and hear about how a ‘proud feminist’ ended up running cover for a regressive religious festival at which unholy women were segregated from men!
Yesterday, Creasy took to X, where she lives, to say what a hoot she was having at Walthamstow’s Milad Al Nabi march to celebrate Muhammad’s birthday. But eagle-eyed X users noticed something missing from her fawning, slack-jawed video clips. ‘Where are the women, Stella?’, asked Times columnist Jenni Russell.
Then the funniest thing happened. Ms Creasy posted a follow-up video of herself gurning in front of a tiny assembly of black-clad Muslim women. Some had their faces covered in the fashion of Islamic obscurantism. One pictures poor Stella meekly making her way through the mob of Islamo blokes, crying ‘Ladies? Ladies?’ in a desperate effort to locate the fairer sex amid the misogyny of it all. But it was too late to hide the truth: this preening self-styled feminist had whooped for a festival and a religion in which women are treated as second-class citizens, their sinful flesh cloaked, their blabbing mouths gagged.
This is the same Stella Creasy who protested against London’s blokes-only Garrick Club. As the Spectator quipped, at the Garrick ‘male-only membership was misogyny’, while at an Islamo-festival ‘male-only marching is multiculturalism’. Honestly, is there anything more tragic than white liberal women obsequiously rubbing shoulders with Islam, a religion that would happily put them in a black sack? Creasy bows to the religion of transgenderism, too. I hope she’s explained to her Muslim mates that you can have a schlong and be a woman and thus Friday prayers segregation is a transphobic obscenity that denies the fluidity of gender. I’m sure they’ll update their policies accordingly.
In her attempt to prove she’s not racist, Margolyes asked a black man how black he is. In her bid to prove she’s not ‘Islamophobic’ – and to keep winning Muslim votes – Creasy cheered a gathering that she would have damned as sexist in every other circumstance. That’s virtue-signalling for you. One minute you’re yapping about ‘justice’, the next you’re cheering the placing of rapists in women’s jails. One minute you’re saying racism stinks, the next you’re saying ‘high yella’ to a black man on TV. One minute you’re a feminist, the next you’re making excuses for a religious ideology that treats women like shit. If this is virtue, what the hell is vice?

What Different Fart Smells (And Sensations) Can Tell You About Your Health
Even if you won’t admit it to yourself, we all love the smell of our own farts. In fact, back in 2014, ScienceAlert revealed that we find our farts more appealing than the smell of others. However, do you ever find that your farts even disgust you?
Or that what you thought would be a subtle, silent fart is actually silent-but-violent?
Well, according to NHS Surgeon and health communicator Dr Karan Rajan, we could actually learn a lot about our health and what we’re missing in our diets just by how our farts smell and feel.
What your farts reveal about your health
Silent-but-deadly
In an Instagram post, Dr Rajan says: “If your farts are silent but deadly, you might not be eating enough fibre.”
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
The British Heart Foundation advises: “In the UK, the government recommends adults eat 30g of fibre per day, but most of us fall short, averaging around 17g a day.”
Loud-but-odourless
Ever do an absolute arse trumpet of a fart, expecting to clear the room but actually, there’s no smell? Dr Rajan says this means that your gut bacteria have been “fermenting fibre”.
He explains: “When your gut bacteria have plenty of fibre, that’s what they eat first. Fermenting fibre makes carbon dioxide, hydrogen and methane and none of these gases smell.”
Warm or burning
All of this gassy talk had me wondering about warm or burning farts. These are usually experienced when feeling quite under the weather, so I wondered what caused the change-up.
Healthline explains: “Having less gas to pass may make toots seem hotter. That’s because when gas is expelled with a bit of force — that is, you have more to pass — it clears your rectum quickly. You don’t typically feel the air warm up around your anus.
“If you have less gas, however, the gas may move slower with less force. In that case, the air may linger right around your bum, heating up the skin slightly.”

Politics Home | UK To Officially Recognise Israel’s Occupation Of West Bank As Unlawful

Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced the UK government’s “new approach” to Israel in the House of Commons on Tuesday. (Alamy
3 min read
Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband told MPs the UK will treat Israel’s occupation of the West Bank as unlawful under international law, saying that the government will take a “new approach” to dealing with the state.
In a House of Commons statement on Tuesday, Miliband said there was a “deeply painful contrast” between the UK government’s commitment to a two-state solution in the Middle East, and “the reality on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank” as he announced a major reset in the UK’s relationship with Israel.
The most significant elements of Miliband’s announcements included the UK government recognising that Israel’s occupation of the West Bank was unlawful; an import ban from illegal settlements in the West Bank; and a ban on arms licenses that “materially contribute” to Israel’s illegal occupation of the West Bank.
Other announcements included sanctions against those those financing or building illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank; a ban on advertising illegal settlement properties; and further sanctions for individuals involved in promoting settler violence in the West Bank.
The decision to end the trade of goods from Israeli settlements in the West Bank joins similiar action from around a dozen Western countries including France, Spain and Ireland.
Miliband said it was the position of the British government that “there is ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in areas of the West Bank” and that it was being “perpetrated by settler terrorists”. He stopped short of calling Israel’s actions in Gaza a genocide, stating “we support legal processes to determine this”.
Miliband, who Prime Minister Andy Burnham appointed Foreign Secretary when he entered No 10 in July, said was “no contradiction” between his support of an Israeli state, a Palestinian state, and his own Jewishness as the son of Holocaust survivors.
He added that the Labour government’s disagreement is with the Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, and not with the people of Israel.
“My parents came here as Jewish refugees and found sanctuary and a country that stood up for the rule of law, freedom, and self-determination,” Miliband told MPs.
“Those are the values this government is standing up for today, and I truly believe that the vast majority of the British people, including in our communities with ties to the region, are united in their desire to see humanitarian suffering end and all sides commit to a durable peace process.
“And just as we want Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side, so… we have to live out those values in Britain.”
He added that there will never be “stability in the Middle East without a two-state solution”, and that if the UK fails to “stand up for the values that this country has long held and fought for, we lose credibility and influence in the world”.

Ed Miliband Accuses Israeli Settlers Of ‘Ethnic Cleansing’
Ed Miliband has accused the Israeli settlers in the West Bank of “ethnic cleansing” as he unveiled a fresh set of sanctions.
The foreign secretary has announced his plan to ban trade from Israeli settlements in the illegally occupied Palestinian territory as part of his attempt to “reset” relations with Israel.
He said the UK will “take action” against those who provide services including construction, finance and real-estate for settlement expansion.
He said he hoped to roll out the legislation in six to nine months.
It comes after Israel unveiled plans to extend developments in the West Bank, which would disrupt the idea of a Palestinian state.
Tensions in the West Bank have spiked in recent months as violent disputes have erupted between Israeli settlers and Palestinians.
Israel has built about 160 settlements housing 700,00 Jews since it first occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem during the 1967 war.
Approximately 3.3 million Palestinians are estimated to live among them.
While making a statement to MPs in the Commons, Miliband noted that the government’s argument is “not with the people of Israel, with whom the UK has unshakeable bonds” but “with the conduct of its government.”
He said the Israeli settlements in the West Bank – illegal under international law – have expanded more rapidly under the last four years of this Israeli government than in the previous 20 years.
The cabinet minister continued: “Ethnic cleansing is defined by the UN as ‘a purposeful policy designed by one ethnic or religious group to remove by violent and terror-inspiring means the civilian population of another ethnic or religious group from certain geographic areas’.
“The British government agrees that there is ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in areas of the West Bank – perpetrated by settler terrorists.
“And all too often, the Israeli government has turned a blind eye to this and worse, members of it have made statements and taken actions to support the forced displacement of Palestinians.”
France, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden have all joined the UK is slapping sanctions on Israeli settlers today.
In a joint statement, the countries confirmed this action follows steps already taken by Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium.
Miliband also turned his attention to Gaza, where he said Britain supports the legal processes to determine if Israel has committed genocide.
He added that the UK will do “everything we can to provide all the humanitarian support possible to help the people of Gaza”.
“Our extension of the global human rights sanctions regime will enable us to target those responsible for violations of international humanitarian law, whether in Gaza or anywhere else in the world,” the foreign secretary said.
Miliband’s announcement has already put a strain on Britain’s relations with the US and with Israel.
The US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, accused the government of “discrimination against Jews”.
US president Donald Trump is yet to publicly respond to the sanctions package.

What Your Penis Reveals About Your Health From Head To Toe
As a person with a penis, you would be forgiven for thinking everything “down there” is fine if your penis hasn’t shown any physical changes or been generally uncomfortable. However, according to Dr Babak Ashrafi, GP at Superdrug Online Doctor, you can actually tell a lot about your physical health just from examining your penis.
He shares: “Your penis is one of the few parts of the body that relies on healthy blood vessels, healthy nerves, balanced hormones and good psychological wellbeing all working together.
“If something changes, it doesn’t always mean there’s a serious problem, but it can sometimes be the body’s way of flagging that something else deserves attention.”
What a neat little system.
What your penis can teach you about your health
Erectile dysfunction
According to The Urology Foundation, erectile dysfunction (ED) affects around 4.3 million men in the UK and is very common in men over the age of 40.
“Many men think of erectile dysfunction as a condition in itself, but it’s often a symptom rather than the underlying cause,” says Dr Babak Ashrafi. “An erection relies on healthy blood vessels, nerves, hormones and psychological wellbeing all working together. If something is disrupting one of those systems, the penis can sometimes be one of the first places it becomes noticeable.”
Dr Ashrafi adds that persistent erectile dysfunction can sometimes be an early warning sign of wider health conditions, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
High blood pressure
Often referred to as a ‘silent killer’, high blood pressure unfortunately rarely causes obvious symptoms. However, it can damage blood vessels throughout the body over time. Dr Ashrafi says: “If blood vessels begin to narrow or lose their elasticity because of high blood pressure, some men may notice changes to their erections before they experience any other symptoms. That’s why persistent changes shouldn’t simply be put down to age.”
Diabetes
Diabetes impacts more than just blood sugar. It can also damage nerves and blood vessels which are essential for healthy sexual function.
Ashrafi urges: “For some men, changes in erections are one of the first things that prompts them to seek medical advice.
“If these changes are accompanied by increased thirst, frequent urination, blurred vision or unexplained fatigue, diabetes is one of the conditions we would want to rule out.”
Early diagnosis can also reduce the risk of complications affecting the heart, kidneys, eyes and nerves.
High cholesterol
High cholesterol often develops silently, but over time it can reduce blood flow by causing fatty deposits to build up inside arteries.
“Because the arteries supplying the penis are particularly narrow, they may be affected earlier than larger arteries elsewhere in the body,” says Dr Babak Ashrafi. “For some men, changes in erectile function can be an early clue that it’s time to have their cholesterol checked.”
Low testosterone
Changes aren’t always related to blood flow, Dr Ashrafi explains.
“If you’re experiencing a reduced sex drive alongside persistent tiredness, low mood, reduced muscle strength or fewer spontaneous erections, hormones could be playing a role,
“Low testosterone can affect both sexual desire and sexual function, so it’s important to look at the wider picture rather than focusing on one symptom alone.”
Insomnia
A poor night’s sleep could be affecting more than just your energy levels, particularly if it’s happening often.
“Sleep plays an important role in hormone production, cardiovascular health and sexual function,” says Dr Ashrafi.
“If someone notices changes in their erections alongside loud snoring, excessive daytime tiredness or poor quality sleep, it may be worth investigating whether an underlying sleep disorder could be contributing.”
Improving sleep can have benefits for overall health as well as sexual wellbeing.

Tom Jones Claims The Voice UK ‘Fired’ Him From Coach Role
However, it was suggested that he would remain with the show albeit in a different role, with a show source claiming: “ITV absolutely loves working with Sir Tom. They are in talks with him and are hopeful he will return to the series.”
Sir Tom then shared his side of the story in a social media post on Tuesday afternoon.
“To be clear, I did not want to leave The Voice as I love the show and really appreciate the audience,” he insisted. “ITV made this decision – obviously a while ago, and I was told just recently.”
He claimed: “The reason given is because of a financial difficulty with insurance. They now say in the press they wanted to ‘refresh’ the show, and with a new coaching line-up there wouldn’t be a chair for me.
“They are offering a much-reduced role where I would make an appearance but without being actually involved from the start, and I’m not thrilled about that.
“So, the only thing I know right now, is that there’s never a good time to fire an 86-year-old who’s still pretty good at his job.”
HuffPost UK has contacted ITV for additional comment.
The Delilah singer was part of the original The Voice UK line-up, and was part of it for four seasons until he was dropped, and later reinstated when it made the jump from the BBC to ITV.
