Pop star Pink has addressed the intense backlash she faced after appearing to criticize rapper Macklemore’s onstage pro-Palestine remarks.
The “Just Give Me A Reason” singer issued a lengthy statement clarifying her stance. She explained that her repost was not a statement and that netizens were putting words in her mouth, while making clear that Macklemore’s actions had been off-putting to her.
The controversy began after she shared a social media post slamming the rapper’s pro-Palestinian remarks and performance during his opening set for Ed Sheeran.
Pink, born Alecia Beth Moore-Hart, has finally broken her silence on the controversy involving her and rapper Macklemore.
The fallout began after Macklemore, who was performing as an opening act during Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour at MetLife Stadium, chanted “Free Palestine” and performed his protest track, “Hind’s Hall,” with Gaza imagery projected across the big screen.
“Criticism of Israel…in no way is a criticism of you. My message is for peace; love for all human beings to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality,” he told Jewish concertgoers.
In response, the “So What” singer reshared a post from an advocacy group that slammed Macklemore’s performance as “anti-Israel propaganda.” She also posted follow-up memes as criticism mounted.
The move drew intense backlash, with many internet users accusing her of prejudice and calling for a boycott of anything associated with her.
Pink Says Her Macklemore Repost ‘Isn’t A Statement’
Now, in a lengthy statement shared on Instagram, the 47-year-old singer addressed several issues, including how the “Thrift Shop” rapper’s comments alarmed her and how she has felt “lonely” amid the backlash.
First, she said the wording in the memes was not actually hers. She then explained that reposting them is a coping mechanism she uses when she is “hurt.”
“That’s on me. A repost isn’t a statement, and a meme isn’t a spine,” Pink wrote. “Social media makes all of us cheap and fast… But I’d rather be disagreed with for what I actually said than hated for what anybody else wrote.”
Pink Reveals Her Macklemore Concerns Began Years Ago
Pink’s differences with Macklemore seem to have festered for some time before his recent antics.
She wrote that she used to like him and was in the room at the 2014 Grammys when he performed “Same Love,” a song several gay and straight couples had chosen for their weddings.
However, he seemingly goofed four months later by wearing a hooked nose, black beard, and bowl cut while performing. He called it a “random costume” at the time.
“Every Jew I know knew exactly what it was. The same love, it turned out, had a guest list, and we weren’t on it. But he apologized, and I let it go, because that’s what we do. We let it go,” she stated.
Pink Says Macklemore’s Statement, Not His Chant, Prompted Her Repost
Regardless, the incident informed how his future comments might be perceived, especially when they concerned Israel and Jewish people.
She then explained that his onstage statement — not his “Free Palestine” chant — prompted her to reshare the post.
“Then last weekend he stood in front of a stadium full of music-loving families, with violent images from a war on the screens, dedicated a song to the movement of his choice, and then took the mic to tell all of the Jews in the stadium that it wasn’t about them. You don’t get to decide that for us,” she added.
Pink doubled down, insisting that she wasn’t looking for him to be canceled or anything of the sort.
“I have never asked for another artist to be silenced, and I’m not asking now. I don’t need anyone fired, and I don’t need a refund,” she declared. “What I need is to be able to say, as a Jewish mom, ‘that scared me, and it scared people I love,’ without being told our fear is just propaganda, and without being told I’m somehow cool with genocide because I noticed?”
Pink Reaffirms Support For Innocent Civilians On Both Sides
Elsewhere in her lengthy statement, the “TRUSTFALL” songstress proudly reiterated her Jewish identity but lamented that people had mixed everything up without checking her background.
Drawing on her personal background and her decade-long tenure as a UNICEF ambassador, she reiterated her support for innocent civilians on both sides of the conflict, especially children. However, she maintained her previous stance that “Hamas is a terrorist organization.”
“Palestinians deserve a future that honors their humanity and their aspirations. Protecting innocent life comes first, everywhere, and nobody should ever celebrate the death of a child,” she said.

What Do You Think Roomies?
Kim Zolciak isn’t the only one facing lingering debt after her son Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr.’s escalating legal troubles.
Court documents obtained exclusively by Us reveal that Zolciak’s estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, was ordered to pay more than $64,000 in connection with his gambling debt following a November 2021 trip to the Bahamas. He defaulted, so now the company is coming to collect in his home state of Georgia.
Sky Warrior, which handles the credit lines at the Baha Mar Casino in the Bahamas, filed a request to transfer the case from New Jersey to the Peach State in December 2025, and a Fulton County judge signed off on March 17.
“The foreign judgment awards [Sky Warrior] the sum of $52,500, plus prejudgment interest, together with $11,927.35 in attorneys’ fees and costs,” the ruling read from earlier this year.

Additional court documents show that Biermann, 40, was served the post-judgment order at his Georgia home on August 28 — just days after KJ’s arrest on August 17.
Us reached out to Biermann’s attorney for comment.
The former NFL player turned Bravolebrity was sued in 2023 over the $100,000 line of credit he obtained from Sky Warrior to use at Baha Mar Casino. The company claimed he spent $52,500 in chip markers to gamble and failed to pay it back before leaving, despite claiming he had money in his SunTrust bank account for repayment.
“Despite multiple demands, Biermann has failed and refused to pay the Outstanding Amount,” the original lawsuit stated. “Biermann’s refusal to pay… constitutes a breach of the Credit Agreement.”
Biermann and Zolciak’s money woes date back years before their final divorce filing in February 2025. (Their divorce case is still ongoing.)
The exes and their family were even forced out of their Alpharetta home by U.S. marshals in April 2025.
As Us previously reported, Zolciak, 48, is also facing six-figure debt following two separate ongoing lawsuits, in which she’s accused of not paying a credit card bill and failing to repay a $131,000 business loan.
Biermann and Zolciak are also dealing with legal trouble involving their son, which only got worse when new allegations of his alleged behavior were brought to light at his bond hearing on Friday, September 11.

Prosecutors accused KJ, 15, of having sex with an underage relative. They claimed investigators allegedly uncovered footage on his phone that showed him and an unidentified family member under the age of 12 engaging in sexual activity, according to Page Six.
The outlet also reported that investigators discovered “multiple encounters” where KJ allegedly used “predatory [and] derogatory” language toward the underage family member. The incident had not been publicly reported, with prosecutors now planning to press charges.
KJ’s attorney, Jason Sheffield, denied the allegations against his client after the hearing, telling TMZ: “The characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ Biermann grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case.”
Sheffield added, “The matter arose from inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers.”
As Us previously reported, KJ was arrested in August for aggravated sexual assault and aggravated sodomy after an alleged incident with a female student in a local gym sauna. At the time, Sheffield denied any wrongdoing on his client’s behalf.
The teen was then indicted on September 3 for aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.

Zolciak fiercely defended her son after his arrest.
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged,” she told Us in a statement on August 21. “My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.”
Zolciak added, “We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations.”
Following Friday’s hearing, the judge granted KJ’s bond, setting it at $200,000.
Us obtained his bond conditions, which will require KJ to wear an ankle monitor and remain confined to his mom’s home.

Nick Reiner is gearing up for his 33rd birthday on Monday, September 14. However, this year will look very different from years prior, as he’s spending it behind bars at the Los Angeles Twin Towers Correctional Facility. Nick was arrested and booked on charges of first-degree murder after his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, were found dead at their California home in December 2025.
According to Page Six, Nick, who will turn 33 in jail, will get the same treatment he’s been receiving when the clock strikes midnight on September 14.
“Birthdays are treated like every other day, no special treatment from LASD,” a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson told the outlet.
The spokesperson added that inmates have access to phones and can use them during the preset schedule. “There are no additional privileges for birthdays.”

While the jail staff won’t treat Nick any differently, the representative told Page Six that his family and friends can coordinate packages to come on his birthday.
“Inmates can still receive mail through normal channels and mail is inspected for any contraband before being given to the inmate,” they said. “If there was anything birthday related, the onus would be on the inmate’s family/friends/network to time the mail for it to arrive on the normal mail schedule.”
In addition, Nick is allowed visitors, and according to the jail’s schedule, Nick’s birthday is a “normal visiting day.”
Nick could still get some sweet treats for his birthday through the jail’s commissary. The list included candies, snacks, desserts, and beverages.
Nick Reiner Accused Of Killing Parents Rob And Michele Reiner
Nick Reiner was arrested on December 14 in California after he was accused of murdering his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, in their Brentwood home.
According to LA County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman, Nick allegedly killed his parents in “approximately the early morning hours” before fleeing the scene.
At the time, Hochman confirmed that Nick had been arrested and charged with “two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders, and a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife.”
“Prosecuting cases involving family violence are some of the most challenging and heart-wrenching we face because of the intimate and often brutal nature of the crimes,” Hochman continued before praising Rob for his impact on the film industry.
“Rob Reiner was one of the greatest filmmakers of his generation. His murder and his wife of more than 35 years, Michele Singer Reiner’s murder, are shocking and tragic. We owe it to their memory to pursue justice and accountability for the lives that were taken,” he said.

Dion, 58, announced in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms, one year earlier. The singer, who detailed her health battle in the 2024 documentary I Am: Céline Dion, subsequently canceled her 2023 Courage World Tour in order to focus on her health.
Dion announced in March, on her 58th birthday, that she would return to the stage for a limited run of 10 shows in September and October. She quickly added six additional concerts due to enormous demand. The performances begin Saturday, September 12, at Paris’ La Défense Arena.
Throughout her health scare, the insider tells Us that Dion “was always putting in the work” to connect with doctors and specialists who could help.
“There were many years of figuring out what was going on, that alone can be very daunting, and then to find the right people to help you,” the insider adds, acknowledging that Dion has faced “highs and lows” like fans saw in her documentary. “There were very low, emotional times [of her] thinking, ‘What is happening? Orville Peck is returning to the music scene in just a few days with his brand-new album, “Mule.” In a new interview, the country music singer, known for wearing a mask and hiding his face from the public, said his upcoming batch of songs will be more “vulnerable” than ever. Peck, 38, also said he hopes the music will impact two communities close to his heart.
Peck, an openly gay man, told PEOPLE that he’s seen many queer people turn to drugs or other substances to cope with hardships, and it was a topic he wanted to write about on his new album.
“I hope that having an album that talks about it with openness and humor, as only a queer person probably could, about their hurt, opens a bit more awareness… not just for people going through addiction, but also people who have friends who are partying too much,” he said.
According to Peck, those in the queer community have gotten used to hiding how they really feel, likening it to being in “survival” mode. That reality, Peck said, is exactly why it’s “more important” to stay connected to family and friends.

Peck added that his new album isn’t just about feeling good; it’s about inspiring a “discerning courage” in the LGBTQ+ community and those in addiction recovery to feel better about sharing their feelings with each other.
“We have to become more attuned to noticing when someone is screaming out for help,” he said. “And we need to be better about feeling okay to reach out to the people we care about.”
For Peck, releasing this new album, which he challenged himself to be brutally honest on, is both “scary” and “freeing,” he said. However, to start a movement, one must lead by example.
“I always try to be vulnerable, but with Mule I tried to be as blatant as I could about what I was going through and not present that in metaphors or poetry,” he shared. “I usually leave it up for interpretation, but this time I wanted to call it what it is.”
Orville Peck Recalls Being A ‘Bad Addict’
This isn’t the first time Peck has spoken candidly about personal challenges. In 2023, the “PONY” singer postponed his tour and admitted to dealing with mental health struggles.
In a 2026 interview, Peck opened up even more about that moment and said it was caused by his addiction to alcohol, according to The Blast.
“I was a bad addict, a coping alcoholic,” he shared. “And I had this spiral moment, where I went back to my hotel and tried to take my life. It was a big turning point for me, with a lot of realizations to come. It was something that needed to happen.”
Peck isn’t the only celebrity in the queer community who has used their platform to spotlight serious concerns. “White Lotus” actor Lukas Gage previously spoke with The Blast about his book, “I Wrote This For Attention,” and said he wanted to inspire people with his own story.
“The message that I share throughout the book is that the little boy who was desperate for attention and love and validation became a man who was also a little bit desperate for love and validation and attention,” he said. “I try to share how that manifested. And I try to put a different spin on our innate human need for attention, our desire to be seen, and show how you can do that in a positive way instead of only being seen for negative attention.”

In addition to talking about mental health, Gage said he also wanted to highlight the importance of PrEP in the queer community.
PrEP, a once-daily pill, can reduce the risk of getting HIV from sex by about 99% when taken as prescribed, according to medical professionals.
“I think that the way that we become knowledgeable is to have an open conversation about these things and to not live in fear and uncertainty,” he told The Blast. “The way that we just bring awareness is that we step away from the taboo and from the stigma that we have wrapped around these topics.”

Months ago, Wood, who starred in the first installment, caused controversy with comments about not being asked to return for the sequel.
Now, King, who replaced her, has revealed that she reached out to Wood, seemingly to address the situation. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, King said they had a “lovely conversation.”
Although she did not reveal the exact details of the talk, King said she appreciated Wood’s kind words and the exchange.
Joey King Called Wood ‘Talented’
When Wood played the role in 1998, she was just 11, making her one of the younger members of the cast. She played Kylie Owens, the daughter of Sally Owens, who was played by Sandra Bullock.
While “Practical Magic” wasn’t a big hit with critics at the time, Wood’s role still resonated deeply with King, who sought to make that clear in an interview with the outlet.
“She is so talented and so beautiful, and she made this role so special when she was a young girl,” King said of Wood. “I feel so grateful to be able to play Kylie at this age.”
Wood Said King Was The Only One Who Reached Out
King’s claim about reaching out to Wood was confirmed by the veteran actress in a post on her Instagram Stories.
The confirmation also seemed to include a subtle dig at the other cast members Wood originally shared the set with.
“I really appreciated Joey King reaching out to me, because no one who worked on the original film did,” Wood wrote before calling King a “sweetheart.”
At the moment, none of the other stars have responded to King’s claims and seem to be more focused on promoting the film.
Director Susanne Bier Explained Why The Daughters Were Recast
Interestingly, Wood and original actress Alexandra Artrip were the only main cast members from the first installment who did not return for the sequel.
The change sparked controversy among fans, but director Susanne Bier quickly addressed it. She said King and Maisie Williams were chosen as replacements because they needed to fit a particular stage of their lives in “Practical Magic 2.”
According to her, the characters were “literally out of college,” a stage of life that did not match the original actresses’ ages.
Wood Initially Revealed That She Offered Her Services For The Sequel
Previously, Wood said she was interested in returning for the sequel, but the showrunners turned her down.
“I am getting asked about this a lot, so I’ll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the Practical Magic sequel,” Wood wrote last year on Instagram. “I offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are recasting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.”
In July, however, she seemed to accept the showrunners’ decision not to bring her back.
“I read the book, and it seems like they’re not following the book,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
“I think in the book it would have made sense to bring me back; I think in the way they’re redoing it and approaching it, it didn’t make sense,” she also noted.
The current Netflix charts are dominated by the long-awaited return of a global hit crime series. A follow-up to the hugely popular 2019 movie of the same name, The Gentlemen has retaken its crown as the most-watched show on Netflix, following its hugely successful debut season in 2024. However, the first season’s 12.2 million views recorded during its first few days on streaming were a bar far too high for Season 2, which has only earned 6.7 million views in the same period, marking a drop-off of 45% between seasons.

This examination of the class system through a sepia-toned teen lens has proven hugely popular since it first aired in 2020. But for John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant), the story has now come to an end, and did so in poignant fashion. Three weeks since it aired, Outer Banks is still clinging to its place in the global top ten, currently ranking as the ninth-most-watched series in the world. The fifth season premiere debuted with 9.4 million views in its first four days, which translated into 80.6 million hours watched.
