About WordUp News
WordUp News Bytes is a news site for people who want to know what’s happening without wading through it. We cover the world in short, clear stories across eight desks: Tech & AI, Crypto, Business & Hustles, Gaming, Crime, Entertainment, Fashion and Sports.
Trusted reporting, more than one view
Most news arrives from one angle. We try to give you the facts as they have been reported, and then how the story is being seen from different sides, so you can make up your own mind. We don’t tell you what to think.
How a WordUp story is made
- We watch the news. Our News Desk follows hundreds of news feeds from outlets around the world, all day.
- We look for the same story told by different outlets. When several outlets are reporting the same event, it becomes a candidate for a WordUp story.
- We write it in our own words. Each article is written with the help of AI from what those outlets reported. It sticks to the facts they report, and it links to every source at the bottom, so you can check for yourself.
- We add pictures and video with care. Photos come from properly licensed sources, such as Wikimedia Commons, and are credited. Where there is no suitable photo we use an illustration made with AI, and we label it as one. Some stories include a relevant video from YouTube.
- A person checks the work. Stories publish automatically, and our editor reviews them after publication. Anything that is wrong is corrected, and anything that falls short is taken down.
The full detail, including our rules for crime and court stories, is in our Editorial & AI policy.

Who we are
WordUp News is an independent UK news site, published by Dave Brennan, trading as BrennanAI. We are not owned by, or part of, any media group or political organisation.
In the interest of openness: the same publisher also runs the Vexel search engine and the ads.vexel.cc advertising platform. Some WordUp articles include a link to search a topic on Vexel, and many of the adverts you see on WordUp are served through ads.vexel.cc. Advertisers have no say in what we write, and adverts are always labelled.
Older articles
Before October 2026, WordUp mostly published short summaries of other outlets’ articles, each linking to the original. Those older pages are still on the site for reference, but our own reporting today is written by the News Desk as described above.
