Filip Hrgovic targeted to defend world title against former Oleksandr Usyk foe

Published

Filip Hrgovic could be on the verge of securing a major opportunity after claiming his IBF title with a stunning ninth-round finish over Moses Itauma.

The pair squared off last month, with many expecting Itauma to become the youngest world heavyweight champion since Mike Tyson dethroned Trevor Berbick in 1986.

It then appeared as though such predictions would be proved accurate, as the 21-year-old scored a second-round knockdown and generally outclassed his opponent with speed and movement.

That was until Itauma completely emptied his gas tank and Hrgovic, in response, managed to gather enough energy to stop the prodigy on his feet.

As a result, the Croatian has placed himself in the shop window for unification matches and lucrative paydays, but must first defend his belt against IBF mandatory challenger Frank Sanchez.

Should he emerge triumphant, Hrgovic may then explore a potential clash with Rico Verhoeven, who has been named by Turki Alalshikh as a worthy challenger.

The former kickboxing champion entered his second professional boxing match in May and, despite suffering an 11th-round stoppage defeat, he was widely credited with giving Oleksandr Usyk one of his toughest assignments.

Since then, Verhoeven has been placed at No.8 by the WBC while, at this stage, the remaining three sanctioning bodies are yet to rank him.

According to reporter Mike Coppinger, though, Saudi boxing chief Alalshikh has named Hrgovic-Verhoeven as one of seven fights he is eager to make.

The remainder of the boxing world, meanwhile, would perhaps rather see Hrgovic face one of his fellow champions, whether it be Agit Kabayel, Murat Gassiev or the winner of Daniel Dubois vs Fabio Wardley 2.

xQc says fashion shows are a “waste of time” while reacting to Kai Cenat’s VIVET clothing line

Published

Kai Cenat has been attracting attention following the inaugural fashion show for his clothing brand VIVET, which featured several high-end items, including a piece priced at $1,195. However, the show also drew blunt reactions from other streamers, with popular Twitch streamer xQc sharing his thoughts on fashion shows and some of the outfits showcased during the event.

A clip from the stream was recently shared on X by user @yoxics, where the streamer explained why he does not understand the concept of fashion shows, describing them as a “waste of time” and adding, “You don’t even know what the clothes are.”

He said:

“I think fashion shows are one of the most old-school things that people do that I don’t understand. I think it’s a waste of time. You don’t even know what the clothes are. They wear things in a way that you would never wear outside, and they don’t do a good job of displaying something that’s actually tangible as a consumer. I don’t really get it. When I look at it, it sounds and looks stupid. It doesn’t really make sense, right?”

xQc then clarified that his comments were not specifically aimed at Kai Cenat or VIVET, saying that he has held the same opinion about fashion shows for years.

He said:

“I’m not being a hater. I’ve been saying this for years. I mean, bro, we watch shows, bro. We do outfit reviews for shows. We’ve been doing this for like f*****ng five, six years. Okay? It’s just not for me.”

xQc calls one of Kai Cenat’s VIVET outfits “one-ply toilet paper”

xQc also shared his opinion on one of the outfits showcased during the VIVET fashion show, and his reaction became even blunter. While looking at the clothing, the streamer questioned the quality of the fabric and compared its appearance to “one-ply toilet paper.” He said:

“Personally, I’m not a big fan of this one. This looks very flimsy, and it looks like it would go bad after, like, one wash. Maybe even zero washes. But I don’t know about the fabric. It just looks like one-ply toilet paper. But Jesus Christ, I can’t. Chat, I’m sorry. I tried. Guys, I tried not to be a hater. I tried not to be a hater, Chat. I’m holding in all my thoughts. I think this particular piece and this outfit is sh*t. This looks like he’s, like, I don’t even know, a Dragon Ball Z f*****g alien guy with the f*****g pants and sh*t.”
