Why Lindsay Clancy Holdout Juror’s Brother Found Her Guilty

Lindsay Clancy's Defense Team Breaks Silence After Judge Declares Mistrial Amid Deadlocked Jury

The brother of the now-notorious holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder mistrial is speaking out, revealing why he believes his sibling voted the mom criminally responsible for killing her three children.

“I don’t think religion had anything to do with it,” the anonymous juror’s brother told the New York Post on Tuesday, September 15, disputing online claims that Catholicism impacted the holdout juror’s decision. (The holdout male juror has decided to withhold his identity from the public following the high-profile case’s controversial mistrial ruling.)

“[He] looked at the case, and he made the call,” the brother continued. “For me, that’s how I would do it. I would just listen to the case with all the evidence, and go from there.”

The sibling then acknowledged that the holdout juror’s decision was met with mixed public responses.

Lindsay Clancy’s defense team is addressing the state of the mom’s high-profile murder case after a judge declared a mistrial. “Well, obviously this is not a time for gloating or bragging, expressing victory. It’s a very sad case,” Clancy’s lawyer Kevin Reddington told reporters on Friday, September 4, after the judge declared a mistrial amid […]

“His choice was good for some people, but not good for other people,” he said, adding that both his sibling as well as the rest of his family have been scrutinized in the wake of the trial. On September 4, Judge William Sullivan ruled a mistrial in the case after jurors were deadlocked 11-1, failing to find Clancy guilty or not guilty by reason of insanity for killing her kids Cora,5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023.

“My family cannot leave the house,” the brother claimed, adding that their critics “are leaving notes at my mother’s house.”

“They won’t leave us alone and we don’t know anything,” he continued. “People have been calling me, like, crazy.”

Throughout the course of the seven-week trial, the defense argued that Clancy should not be held criminally responsible for the killings — which she admitted to — due to her documented mental health struggles, including postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder.

The prosecution argued that she should be found guilty regardless of her documented mental health issues, claiming she was capable of differentiating right from wrong at the time and engaged in the premeditated murder of her children.

The prosecution has not publicly announced if it will retry the case at the time of publication.

While the trial made national headlines, the brother revealed he did not know his sibling was on the jury until the case ended in a mistrial.

“We didn’t know. That’s why I was shocked,” he said. “He didn’t tell us anything.”

Lindsay Clancy’s attorney has asked the judge presiding over her case to declare her not guilty after her murder trial ended in a mistrial. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington asked Judge William Sullivan to find Clancy, 36, not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Reddington argued that […]

While the holdout juror has not come forward following the trial, his past has come under scrutiny. It was revealed that the man, who comes from a Haitian immigrant family, was arrested in 2021 after he allegedly attacked his then-wife over the couple’s crying infant. The charges were later dropped.

Four years later in 2025, he was accused of beating the teenage nephew who called police on him during the alleged domestic violence attack, according to court records viewed by the outlet.

The juror was issued a restraining order against the nephew at the time he was picked to serve on Clancy’s jury. The order expired during the trial.

Several of the other jurors have since come forward to reveal they are not sure why the holdout juror refused to find Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity, particularly after he allegedly admitted to having reasonable doubt.

“There were several times I would ask him to show us, like, evidence or, you know, describe a witness testimony that helped to prove what he was saying, and he couldn’t,” juror Nick Dargie told ABC News on September 9. “There wasn’t a single piece of evidence or witness testimony that he used to prove why he was thinking the way he was, which is why we ultimately sent in that note.”

He added, “Otherwise, there’s nothing wrong with somebody having a completely opposite opinion. That would be a hung jury. That is our justice system.”

More On Boosie’s Apparent Encounter With Woman In Kansas

As The Shade Room previously reported, over the weekend, footage surfaced of Boosie hopping out of a black truck with a mystery woman. A fan reportedly recorded the pair, and they both seemed surprised when she made herself known. Subsequently, Boosie posted a photo of himself and Rajel Nelson at the LSU event, and, apparently trying to get ahead of fan speculation, he alleged that he never “touched” the woman.

Subsequently, the mystery woman identified herself and alleged that Boosie had been texting her, begging her to set the record straight about the clip, per The Shade Room. She explained that they seemed surprised because the fan’s voice “came out of nowhere.” However, she alleged that Boosie didn’t touch her because he “couldn’t.”

From there, Boosie spoke out and appeared to confirm his encounter with Icelyn. Specifically, he alleged that she tried to “sell herself” to him. But he wasn’t down with paying, per The Shade Room.

Chris Brown Thanks Jasmine Crockett For Congressional Honor

Published

Lil Scrappy & King Harris React To Phone Tussle

Chris Brown is sharing his gratitude for a milestone moment in his career! Not even a week ago, he and Usher received congressional recognition from U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett and Texas State Rep. Venton Jones. Brown thanked Crockett, whom the internet ruthlessly dragged, and Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson on Tuesday (Sept. 15). Also, he thanked Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee for showing him support amid heated reactions to his recognition.

Jasmine Crockett & Venton Jones Honor Breezy & Usher

As said, Crockett and Jones recognized Usher and Chris Brown during their show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The U.S. Rep and Texas State Rep honored them for their contributions to music and culture. Crockett enthusiastically presented the plaques on stage in her shimmery and black concert fit. Venton Jones, who wore a suit, walked out with Crockett for the presentation, too. She called the moment that highest form of Black joy. At the end of the presentation, Crockett hugged Breezy.

Chris Brown Shares Message & Photo Of Congressional Record Recognition

This is the first time we’re seeing Chris Brown speak online about the congressional honor. He shared a photo of the framed declaration, signed by Texas State Rep. Venton Jones. Brown kicked off his caption with his thank you to Jasmine Crockett and also the Dallas mayor. He did not address any of the backlash directly. Instead, he went on to thank Texas fans for showing out on his and Usher’s ‘R&B Tour.’

“🙏🏽 wanna send a very special thank you @jasmineforus and @ventonjonestx for this honor! @roccstarmusic love you my brother. This means so much to me❤️. Thank you, Texas, for showing me and @usher so much love 💕 ❤️,” Breezy wrote on IG.

Usher, meanwhile, has not addressed the congressional recognition or the backlash directed at Chris and Jasmine.

Why Did Breezy Thank Jason Lee?

Chris Brown closed his caption about the recognition by giving Jason Lee his flowers for the conversation with Don Lemon about him. “Thank you … thank you for your support when speaking,” the superstar wrote. Following the recognition, Jason Lee had a conversation with Don Lemon about the backlash over it. Despite his close relationship with Brown’s 2009 assault victim, Rihanna, Lee defended the congressional recognition. He said Rihanna forgave him a long time ago and that their conversations are never about her ex-boyfriend of so many years ago.

“What we’re dealing with is a country, and a world that doesn’t believe a Black man is worthy of redemption. The same redemption they gave the president who is a criminal in charge everyday. And the same redeption that we’re denied every chance that people get. People have moved on, at least in the inter-circles of the Chris Brown, Rihanna saga, but the world seems to be stuck in a place it can’t get out of.”

Warner Bros. Executive Told Zack Snyder He Was “Right About Everything” With DC

Warner Bros. Executive Told Zack Snyder He Was “Right About Everything” With DC

Zack Snyder has revealed that a former Warner Bros. executive eventually admitted the studio had been wrong to fight the filmmaker over his vision for the DC Universe.

Speaking in a new interview with Variety, Snyder reflected on the turbulent end of his time overseeing Warner Bros.’ interconnected DC films and the extensive changes made to Justice League after his departure.

According to Snyder, he later had a conversation with an unnamed former Warner Bros. executive who offered a surprising admission.

“I met with this executive at Warner Bros. who’s long gone since — I won’t say who it was — and he said to me, ‘You know, Zack, I’ve got to tell you one thing: You were right about everything.’”

Snyder said the executive went even further.

“We were fighting you, and in the end you were right.”

When asked what Warner Bros. had been fighting him over, Snyder said it extended far beyond a single movie.

“The whole vision for the DC universe and the way I made movies and everything.”

Snyder acknowledged that the studio was attempting to protect an enormously valuable collection of characters and franchises, but said the Warner Bros. leadership at the time repeatedly attempted to control the direction of his DC universe.

The conflict eventually became most visible with Justice League.

Snyder stepped away from the movie during post-production in 2017 following the death of his daughter Autumn. Joss Whedon subsequently oversaw extensive rewrites and reshoots before the theatrical version of Justice League was released.

Snyder says he still has never watched that version of the film. His wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder saw it and advised him not to watch it.

Years later, the massive #ReleaseTheSnyderCut fan campaign ultimately resulted in Warner Bros. allowing Snyder to complete his original version of the movie. Zack Snyder’s Justice League was released in 2021, restoring numerous characters, storylines and sequences that had been removed or significantly altered for the theatrical cut.

Snyder described finally completing his version of the film as “catharsis.”

The filmmaker’s larger DC plans, however, were never completed. His intended storyline would have continued beyond Justice League through additional films, while Warner Bros. ultimately moved away from the interconnected universe Snyder had begun with Man of Steel.

DC has since entered an entirely new era under DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Despite the history surrounding his departure, Snyder said he likes Gunn and appreciates his vision for DC. He also revealed that he has not yet watched the new Superman or Supergirl, explaining that his relationship with the characters remains “a little bit too personal.”

For fans who have spent years debating what might have happened had Snyder been allowed to complete his original DC plans, however, the filmmaker’s account of the former Warner Bros. executive’s admission adds a remarkable new chapter to the SnyderVerse story.

Nick Reiner Won’t Face Death Penalty In Alleged Parents’ Killings

Published

Rihanna Seemingly Addresses Baby Rumors, Talks "Little Pouch"

Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner‘s son, Nick Reiner, will not face the death penalty on charges of fatally stabbing his parents in Los Angeles late last year. Prosecutors shared the update in the case on Tuesday (Sept. 15), per the Associated Press.

RELATED: Rob Reiner’s Children Break Silence As Their Brother Is Charged Over Parents’ Deaths (VIDEOS)

Nick Reiner Won’t Face The Death Penalty

Nick Reiner was charged with first-degree murder on Dec. 16, two days after the stunning killings. If convicted, the maximum sentence 33-year-old Nick Reiner could get is life without the possibility of parole, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said at a news conference. Before reaching its decision, Hochman said his office did a thorough review. The review included speaking to Rob and Michele Singer Reiner‘s families and evaluating mitigating factors in Nick Reiner’s favor.

Nick Reiner briefly appeared at a court hearing on Tuesday morning. He has twice pleaded not guilty. The death penalty had been on the table because of the lying-in-wait allegation, the fact that multiple people were killed, and the use of a knife, which is considered a dangerous weapon. However, it’s been two decades since California’s last execution. Also, Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a moratorium on the practice in 2019.

Los Angeles DA Hochman has already said he does not expect a trial until next year.

Public Defender Highlights Nick’s Alleged Mental Illness

Reiner’s attorney, Deputy Public Defender Kimberly Greene, said prosecutors made the right decision.

“Nick has a serious mental illness and a long history of struggling with self-medication. His circumstances are a tragic example of how difficult it can be for people experiencing significant mental health challenges to access and navigate the treatment and support they need,” Greene said in a statement. “Nothing can undo the profound loss experienced by the Reiner family and those who loved them. Our hearts remain with the family.”

Reiner’s former defense attorney, Alan Jackson, adamantly insisted that “pursuant to the laws of California, Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder.” Jackson had to withdraw for undisclosed reasons, he said, which were beyond his and the client’s control. So, a public defender took over for him.

Judge To Rule On Whether To Make Transcripts From Grand Jury Proceedings Public

A grand jury indicted Reiner in July. The judge in the case was deciding whether to make the transcripts of those secret grand jury proceedings public. If done, it would likely reveal many key details about the killings.

Los Angeles DA Hochman said his office will not oppose the release of the transcripts. However, Nick Reiner’s siblings, Jake and Romi Reiner, were adamantly opposed, saying it would add to their trauma and harm. At Tuesday’s hearing, Judge Sam Ohta said he will hear arguments on the issue next month.

Nick Reiner was the second of Rob and Michele Reiner’s three children. He and his father co-wrote the script for the 2015 film ‘Being Charlie.’ It was partly based on the son’s teenage struggles with addiction and homelessness. Rob and Michele were married for 36 years at the time of their deaths.

Nick Reiner Wants Access To His Trust Fund

Reiner has asked a different judge to order the release of funds from a trust his parents set up for him as a child. He’s seeking to rehire Attorney Jackson, a high-profile defense attorney whose clients have included Kevin Spacey and Karen Read.

However, the trustees overseeing the funds argue Nick Reiner shouldn’t get them. Still, his lawyers argue that he is still innocent under the law and that the money would legally be his regardless of his parents’ deaths. Reiner is awaiting a ruling on the money. Jackson has said he wants to return to the case.

Rob Reiner Honored At 2026 Emmys

Rob Reiner received an emotional tribute at the Emmy Awards on Monday night. He won a posthumous Emmy for best guest actor in a comedy series for his role on ‘The Bear.’ Also, he was honored by his friend and ‘Bear’ co-star Jamie Lee Curtis.

“He was generous, kind and funny as hell, and a friend to all,” Curtis said. “And we all miss Rob and Michele and all those we lost this year.”

Ed Sheeran’s Tour Suffers Setback From Macklemore Booting

Published

on

Ed Sheeran‘s tour has hit an unexpected snag after opening act Aaron Rowe announced he was pulling out.

Rowe’s decision adds another twist to a tour already caught in a dispute over political expression, venue pressure and what belongs on a concert stage. Looks like the fallout over Macklemore’s removal from the trek continues to grow.

Ed Sheeran has built a global career with chart-topping albums, sold-out stadium tours and hits that have made him one of pop music’s biggest touring artists. His current Loop tour was set to continue across North America before the Macklemore controversy and the latest departures changed the lineup.

The fallout over Macklemore’s removal from Sheeran’s tour is now affecting more than just the headliner’s lineup. Opening act Aaron Rowe has announced that he is pulling out of the remaining dates, choosing to stand in solidarity with Macklemore.

Rowe said he did not make the decision lightly, especially because Sheeran had been a friend who changed his life. But he made clear that continuing with the tour would conflict with his personal beliefs, particularly over what he described as the silencing of voices speaking out about the war in Gaza.

The decision puts another spotlight on the controversy surrounding the tour, with what began as a dispute over one performer now creating a much bigger shake-up.

Aaron Rowe Says He Couldn’t Stay Silent

Rowe’s statement made it clear that his decision was driven by more than loyalty to another artist. He said that, as an Irish person, he felt deeply connected to some issues.

He listed the issues as “genocide, forced famine and violent occupation,” and revealed that he could not continue performing under circumstances he believed were silencing criticism of Israel.

He also said he would lose respect for himself by remaining on the tour. TMZ reported that Rowe ultimately decided to withdraw from the remaining shows rather than continue under those circumstances.

The controversy is now putting Sheeran’s tour in an increasingly complicated position, with questions over where artistic expression, political speech and the business of a major concert tour collide.

Ed Sheeran’s Tour Fallout Gets Even Bigger

Macklemore’s removal from Sheeran’s tour has now sparked a wider debate about where performers draw the line when politics enters the concert business. What began as a dispute over one opening act has quickly pulled more artists and public figures into the conversation.

The Blast reported that several personalities rallied behind Macklemore after he addressed his dismissal, with Paloma Faith calling him “a rare and important voice” and Garbage arguing that nothing he said was “violent or hateful.” At the same time, Sheeran has faced criticism over his decision to maintain an “apolitical stance.”

With Rowe now also leaving the tour in solidarity with Macklemore, the controversy is no longer limited to one artist. The growing fallout is putting even more attention on the choices surrounding Sheeran’s tour and the debate over what artists should be able to say from the stage.

The Tour Dispute Quickly Turned Into A Bigger Political Fight

Macklemore at 2017 American Music Awards

Macklemore’s decision to use the stage to speak about the Israel-Gaza war quickly moved beyond the concert itself. What followed was a clash over whether a major music tour should remain focused on entertainment or give artists room to make political statements.

The Blast reported that the Israeli-American Council launched a petition calling for Macklemore to be removed from the remaining shows, arguing that concertgoers came for music rather than a political rally. Some attendees also said they left the New Jersey performances, while others defended Macklemore’s decision to speak about the conflict.

The pressure eventually put Sheeran in the middle of the dispute, with Macklemore saying the singer had been placed in a difficult position. Sheeran has described his stance as apolitical, while Macklemore has continued defending his decision to speak about Palestine, turning the tour into a much bigger conversation than anyone likely expected.

Ed Sheeran’s Tour Drama Isn’t Macklemore’s First Political Firestorm

ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA

The controversy surrounding Macklemore’s exit from the tour did not come out of nowhere. The rapper has been outspoken about the Israel-Gaza conflict for years, making political statements part of his public image well before he joined Ed Sheeran’s stadium tour.

Macklemore released his protest track “Hind’s Hall” in 2024 and later continued using his performances to speak about the conflict. His latest New Jersey appearance followed that same pattern, with the rapper repeatedly calling for a “Free Palestine” and using his set to address the issue directly.

That history helps explain why the fallout has become so much bigger than one controversial performance. It also makes the latest fallout feel less like a one-off moment and more like another chapter in Macklemore’s long-running decision to use his platform to speak out, even when it comes with backlash.

Could Ed Sheeran’s tour controversy continue to grow as more artists are forced to choose between the concert stage and their political convictions?

‘SLOMW’ Stars Unsure About Moving Forward With Show

Published

on

Jessi Draper

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” stars Mayci Neeley and Layla Taylor are on the fence about returning to the show for a seventh season.

On social media, the two reality stars responded to fans asking whether they could see themselves sticking around the group for another spin around the block.

While their decision about “SLOMW” is still in the air, several cast members have moved on, including Whitney Leavitt and most recently, Mikayla Matthews.

Responding to a fan who asked if she was staying on the show, Neeley, who’s appeared on the series since day one, said she’s weighing her options. “I am finishing this current season we are filming and then not sure after that,” she wrote.

Neeley isn’t the only cast member deciding if they want to be part of the show moving forward. Taylor, who’s had her fair share of on-camera drama, gave a similar response when a fan asked about her status. “It’s just such an impossible situation for everyone involved, but I’m finishing out season 6 and then tbd.”

Neeley and Taylor’s responses about “SLOMW” come days after Hulu released the latest season to stream. The five-episode season takes viewers behind-the-scenes of what led producers to halt production on the show following Taylor Frankie Paul’s alleged domestic violence altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.

The season also shows cast member Jessi Draper navigating life after her challenging divorce, Taylor focusing on her relationship with Mason McWhorter, and Mikayla Matthews continuing to address her intimacy concerns with her husband, Jace Terry.

Fun moments are also sprinkled throughout the season, which Draper previously told The Blast she was excited for fans to see. “You guys see that part of us online on the show, but we actually have so many light-hearted and fun, funny moments as friends, and I wish you saw more of that,” she said.

Mikayla Matthews Announces Departure From ‘SLOMW’

Days before Neeley and Taylor revealed where they stood with the show, veteran cast member Matthews said she was quitting the series after season 6 because of behind-the-scenes disagreements.

“The ONLY reason I’m leaving the show is because I was told a certain person was coming back,” she wrote online. “I told [production] before agreeing to do [season] 6 that I wasn’t going to film if that certain someone came back. Because it’s UNETHICAL and kids are involved.”

While it’s unclear who Matthews is speaking about, it’s believed she’s referring to Paul, who faced backlash earlier this year after a video showing her assaulting Mortensen came to light.

“I filmed [season] 6 cause that person was not there.. then we were told she was coming back,” she said. “I said great, then I will not be participating, god bless and goodbye, haven’t filmed a day since.”

Matthews Says She Won’t Go Against ‘My Morals’

Before that, Matthews shared a lengthy Instagram post revealing there was even more to her decision.

“I’ve said from the beginning of this that I’m not comfortable being a part of something that continues to platform behavior I don’t agree especially given my own experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse,” she wrote.

Matthews went on to say that there’s “no amount of money worth going against my morals” before saying platforming certain behavior “feels wrong and unethical.”

Matthews ‘Grateful’ For Her Experience On The Show

Like the other women, Matthews gained an even larger following and platform after appearing in the breakthrough first season of “SLOMW.” In her goodbye message, Matthews thanked the series for the unforgettable experience, then shared one final pointed message.

“This show has been a huge part of my life and has helped me provide for my family. I’m so grateful for the experience,” she said. “Supporting an ADULT doesn’t mean constantly making excuses for toxic behavior while giving unconditional sympathy and grace with zero accountability or change. I was in that enabling cycle for years, and I’m not going to be a part of that again!”

“Love you all,” she concluded.

Todd Tucker Makes Wild Claims About Kandi Burruss

Published

on

Kandi Burruss and a man pose together at a Bravo event

There have seemingly been other people in Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker’s marriage, at least according to him.

The media personality’s estranged husband has shared some fresh truths about their defunct union and the unconventional ways they kept things rolling in the bedroom.

Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss finalized their divorce in March, had a recent heated exchange online, but have continued to co-parent their two children, with either party retaining the right not to pay child support.

The 53-year-old in the trailer for his upcoming film “Til Divorce Do Us Part” got into a brief discussion with his pal and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Peter Thomas about lingering news about the marriage.

Thomas had asked if it was actually true that Tucker and Burruss invited other people into their bedroom, which the former confirmed and stated, “We did. I would say most of our marriages we did.”

In the Instagram clip, the response from Tucker prompted Thomas to make a joke about being a saint in his failed marriage to Cynthia Bailey compared to Burruss and Tucker.

The conversation was sandwiched in between several clips of Tucker having conversations with various people about moving on post-divorce. He rounded up his post with the caption:

“Oh, y’all thought @apollonida03 wasn’t down?! @peterthomasrhoa @dennismckinley@ralphpittmanjr and you know my guy Marc is down. Who else do y’all want? Fellas, it’s our time. Get your tickets at Dontbringyourmantoatlanta.com or click the link in my bio.”

As shared by Us Weekly, Tucker, in an earlier post about the project earlier in the month, had declared that he was inspired to share his post-divorce journey as a means to educate people.

He noted that divorce is never easy, and he made so many mistakes along the way, although he never pictured the outcome being that he would be separated from his partner.

Fans Buzz With Excitement Over The Production Manager’s Project

Tucker’s Instagram comment section passed the vibe check as over 3k fans and followers left their thoughts about his latest creative endeavor. “Well, the scheme has finally arisen. I’m not mad at the concept,” this Instagram user wrote.

Another fan described the film as a revenge tour spearheaded by Tucker alongside the former husbands of some of these Bravo superstars. “I’m sat!! Todd literally knows what it takes to produce reality TV, so this should be good,” this fan noted.

More commenters promised to watch the film because it would be entertaining, going by Tucker’s track record and ability to reel out unique content. This fan added, “You know what… y’all might be on to something…a show about the ex-husbands and their new journey from the man’s perspective. We don’t see that often or hardly ever.”

In April, the couple uncovered another rocky path in the post-divorce interaction after Tucker broke his silence after Burruss’ mother reportedly threw subtle shade at him.

As shared by The Blast, during the promotion of her upcoming show, “I Do. I Did. I’m Done,” Burruss shared an Instagram video of Mama Joyce humming “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

While promoting her upcoming show “I Do. I Did. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” Mama Joyce sang in a video on Instagram as she shared the message “I’m Done.” The clip then flashed back to an infamous “Real Housewives of Atlanta” moment in which Mama Joyce used the song to take a jab at Tucker.

Tucker quickly responded in the comments, sarcastically suggesting that Burruss and her family would keep using him for publicity despite once painting him as the opportunist.

Burruss told him to stop acting like a victim, prompting Tucker to fire back that since their relationship had been used for entertainment from the beginning, they might as well capitalize on its ending too.

The exchange sparked plenty of reactions on Reddit, as some fans questioned why the pair were still publicly trading shots after their split. In contrast, others joked that Mama Joyce must feel vindicated after years of criticizing Tucker.

One other commenter called Burruss out for using too much of her personal life as content, while one supported Joyce’s old claim that Tucker had been opportunistic from the beginning.

Last month, the songwriter revealed that she and Tucker have tried working past their issues and focusing on co-parenting as friends with the best interest of their kids at the center.

As reported by The Blast, Burruss analyzed the situation when he appeared on “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” in August to promote her one-woman show.

She emphasized that people have misinterpreted a smooth interaction between them as a sign of them getting back together, especially after a family vacation in July.

In a clip shared from the trip, Burruss had playfully teased Tucker for reading a book about daily prayers for men, especially after she recalled him not reading anything similar while they were married.

Burruss also used the interview to clear up reports about their divorce settlement, after Da Brat referenced claims that Tucker received part of Burruss’ premarital wealth. The media personality rejected such claims and explained that they only divided assets they acquired together, including jointly purchased properties.

The songwriter established that anything that belonged to her and was acquired in her name, whether before or during their marriage, remained solely hers.

In March, the former couple signed the dotted line on the final phase of their divorce battle with a six-figure settlement from the songwriter to her ex alongside an agreement over their kids and assets.

In the final document, the former couple agreed not to pay child or spousal support, but will have joint legal and physical custody of their two children. Burruss gained permission to keep the children’s passports, but was ordered to make them available upon request if they are needed for international trips.

The former partners also got to keep their individual collections of luxury cars, including Burruss’ Bentley, Cadillac Escalade, Porsche Cayenne, and a 1963 Chevrolet Camaro.

As for Tucker, his Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, Porsche 911, Range Rover, and Ford Bronco also stayed in his loft. Burruss and his former wife also disposed of their shared food truck, sold their shared home, and split up their saved credit card points.

Finally, the television star, who previously slammed Tucker for failing to support their children financially, was ordered to pay Tucker $426,000 as part of the settlement. In contrast, Tucker paid her $38,000 to settle his share of their Atlanta Hawks season tickets.

Is Todd Tucker setting the stage for more bombshell information about Kandi Burruss once the film airs?

‘Interstellar’ Fans Need To Watch One of the 21st Century’s Greatest Sci-Fi Series

Published

on

George R.R. Martin on the red carpet

One of the best things about Interstellar is the way Christopher Nolan blends enormous space-set spectacle with a grounded approach to physics and human emotion. The sets, CGI, and spectacular performances from Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey all helped make it one of the defining sci-fi movies of the 21st century. But if its 2-hour-49-minute runtime still leaves you wanting more, there is a six-season sci-fi epic that scratches a very similar itch: The Expanse.

The bold sci-fi series follows numerous characters as they navigate a dangerous future in which humanity has spread across the solar system, Earth and Mars are locked in a cold war, and an entire population of people called “Belters” struggle for basic resources while living and working throughout the asteroid belt. From the outset, with a Star Wars-style text on the screen, The Expanse throws audiences into its heavily futuristic world, yet its politics, class divisions and human flaws remain strikingly grounded. By creating stunning visuals with both CGI and practical sets, alongside a dark exploration of capitalism and exploitation, The Expanse is exactly the kind of epic sci-fi binge Interstellar fans should seek out.

‘The Expanse’s Attention to Detail Enhances the Sci-Fi Elements of the World

Great science fiction makes even its most futuristic ideas feel tangible, and The Expanse excels in this area, especially with how it introduces technology through active use before explaining exactly how it works. For example, we see James (Steven Strait), who becomes heavily involved in the Cold War between Earth and Mars while trying to keep a low profile after his ship is mysteriously attacked, injected in the neck with a milky fluid before the ship he’s in does a flip in space to change direction. At first, it’s clear it’s something they use when turning. But we don’t fully understand its significance until an OPA prisoner of the UN refuses the injection, killing himself in a statement of suicide. Moreover, it’s explained to us that this injection allows humans to survive “hard gravity” by Chrisjen (Shohreh Aghdashloo), who was in charge of the prisoner.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner
Advertisement

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars
Advertisement

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

We get a similar moment when James crushes a pill into liquid and drinks it, and we are later told this is a substitute for coffee. What it does is allow us to experience the world before information is thrown at us. By also linking such technology to real-world things such as how we may feel gravity during flight or driving, or coffee, we can see how humanity has evolved in a linear fashion, rather than having to fathom something wholly new.

The politics of this world are given a similar treatment. While the scale of conflicts may be on an interplanetary level, the maneuvers different political actors take as well as the stakes feel very grounded and familiar to our world. The Belters on Ceres are clear stand-ins for people in our world who are trapped in a cycle of exploitation, and the OPA terrorists show how such dissatisfaction with the status quo can push the public to support extremist groups, especially when things such as water are limited. We also see how such a growth in ability has not made humans better.

There are huge levels of corruption in Miller’s (Thomas Jane) police organization, which makes his job (which includes finding a rich man’s daughter who is far more significant than he first thinks) far harder. Yet, Miller himself is also one to bend the rules when it suits him. It is clear that such advances won’t automatically fix issues in humanity’s moral makeup, but will simply provide different settings for such issues.

‘The Expanse’ Mixes CGI and Practical Effects in an Effective and Gripping Way

CGI on television is certainly not guaranteed to be the spectacle it is usually on the big screen. Due to typically smaller budgets and less time in between seasons on average, it is not normal for a sci-fi series to look as good as The Expanse does. It may not rival Interstellar‘s iconic depictions of black holes and strange planets, but shots such as the Canterbury flipping its boosters to change direction and subtle effects like Miller’s interplanetary map that shows Julie Mao’s (Florence Faivre) previous movements seamlessly integrate with the rest of the show. The former example conveys the spectacle such an epic narrative should, and the latter is another example of The Expanse making every second of screentime fascinating to watch.

However, these CGI achievements are perhaps surpassed by the range and creativity of practical sets which The Expanse uses to make the mise en scène feel encompassing and add a depth of context to the world the characters inhabit. From the Blade Runner-esque streets of Ceres which feel incredibly steampunk, to claustrophobic ship interiors, to the luxurious events and houses we see Chrisjen attend and enjoy, these sets portray the difference in class between different factions, characters, and even planets. In doing so, much of the subtext is communicated via visual means and does a lot of heavy lifting so that the character dynamics feel clear.

There is so much that can go wrong when such a high-concept genre is brought to TV, yet The Expanse succeeds in crafting a lived-in and thorough galaxy that is exploding with themes that can be seen as explorations of issues in our own world. With each character going through their own journey that has stakes as high as stopping a galaxy-wide war, The Expanse turns that attention to detail into one of the most immersive sci-fi worlds on television.

5 Prequel Stories Fans Want to See From The Hunger Games

Published

on

Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) looking shocked in 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'.

Since the first book’s release in 2008, audiences have been captivated by the world of The Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen‘s fight against the tyrannical Capitol has earned the franchise a strong and expansive fanbase. In recent years, The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins has released additional novels focusing on key characters and their backstories. From the powerful President Snow to the haunted Haymitch Abernathy, new light is being shed on these characters and Panem’s history is explored on a further level.

With Sunrise on the Reaping set to release on November 20th, fans are eager to see what other prequels Collins might publish next. Throughout the fictional country’s long and bloody history, there are many characters that a third prequel story could focus on. Whether its a new character or a fan favorite, audiences can trust that The Hunger Games will deliver a painful and fascinating story.

The First Victor

The Hunger Games have existed for 75 years in the world of Panem. Audiences have seen the 10th, 74th, 75th, and soon, the 50th Games, but the earliest Games have not been explored. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes went back to the 10th Games with Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) and Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), but little information was given about the 1st Game. A prequel surrounding the first Hunger Games held by the Capitol would set the stage for the next 75 years. Following the story of the first Victor would give further context to the war-torn years in Panem and the legacy that would be the Capitol’s Games.

Cashmere and Gloss

Catching Fire introduced a cast of past Victors to compete in the 75th Quarter Quell. Among those Victors were a brother and sister from District 1, Cashmere and Gloss. So far, there have not been any narrators outside of District 12 and the Capitol. It would be interesting to see what life in District 1 would be like, especially through the eyes of a sibling duo. Little is known about the deadly brother and sister, played by Stephanie Leigh Schuland and Alan Ritchson, giving a prequel about their lives a lot of creative leeway. As they are fated to die in the 75th Quarter Quell, learning how they won their Games and lived under the Capitol’s watchful gaze would be an interesting prequel story.

3

Mags Flanagan

There is not much information known about Mags. She was first introduced in Catching Fire and made a surprising appearance in Sunrise on the Reaping, but her story is largely unknown. She won the 11th Hunger Games, the year after Lucy Gray won in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Her behavior towards young Victors like Haymitch and Annie Cresta demonstrates a true kindness in her that has developed over the painful decades she’s endured. A prequel following her life as a Victor and mentor to countless tributes would be heartbreaking and would expand on this selfless character.

2

Plutarch Heavensbee

Since The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, The Hunger Games had been through the perspective of Katniss, a poor citizen from the Districts. It was shocking to realize that the prequel’s protagonist was not only a Capitol citizen, but the president himself. Many fans suspect that a third prequel would return to a Capitol narrator in the form of Plutarch Heavensbee. Gamemaker and secret rebel, Plutarch is a complex and underrated character in the franchise. His perspective on the growing resistance throughout the years would contextualize Katniss’s success in her story.

Finnick Odair

Finnick is a fan favorite character since his introduction in Catching Fire. Played by Sam Claflin, the character’s charming personality hides a tragic past. After winning his Games at 14, Finnick was commodified by the Capitol. A prequel centering on the District 4 Victor would not only be interesting for fans of the character, it would also further expose the Capitol’s perverse crimes against the Victors of the Hunger Games. With his death in Mockingjay, looking back onto Finnick’s challenging life would give more insight into his experiences as a Victor and what he was willing to sacrifice for a free Panem.

There are countless focuses for possible prequels coming out of The Hunger Games universe. Some characters deserve to have their backstories explored while also explaining more about the world of Panem and its complicated politics. If Suzanne Collins does release a third installment in her prequel series, fans can trust that they will learn more about how the Games operate and how the rebellion was crafted. Each story gives more context to the original trilogy and continues to remind audiences why these stories remain impactful.

Stranger Things Returns to Netflix This Week With New Episodes

Even months after Stranger Things concluded its five-season run, fans continue to debate one lingering mystery: What really happened to Eleven?

According to Millie Bobby Brown, she actually knows the answer but she isn’t allowed to tell anyone.

Brown Swore to Keep the Secret

While appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Millie Bobby Brown revealed that Matt and Ross Duffer made her swear to secrecy about Eleven’s true fate.

“They were like, ‘Do not tell anyone. Because we made it a secret kind of pledge,’” Brown said. “No one else knows. It’s just us three. And what we do with that information, it’ll be up to them.”

Brown explained that the Duffer Brothers entrusted her with the truth behind Eleven’s ending, making her the only cast member who knows exactly what happened to the beloved character after the series finale.

The Ending Was Meant to Stay Open to Interpretation

The ambiguous finale has sparked countless fan theories since Stranger Things wrapped up, with viewers questioning whether Eleven survived, sacrificed herself, or if the truth lies somewhere in between.

The Duffer Brothers have intentionally left the ending open to interpretation, allowing fans to decide for themselves what Eleven’s future ultimately looks like. Brown’s comments suggest that while the creators have a definitive answer, they have no plans to reveal it publicly.

That means fans hoping Brown might accidentally spill the secret during an interview probably shouldn’t hold their breath.

A Mystery That Will Continue

For many viewers, the uncertainty surrounding Eleven’s fate has become one of the defining talking points of the series finale. While some fans would prefer a concrete answer, others appreciate the mystery and the freedom to interpret the ending for themselves.

For now, Brown appears committed to honoring the promise she made to the Duffer Brothers, ensuring that one of Stranger Things’ biggest mysteries remains exactly that—a mystery.

As the franchise moves forward with new projects, including the upcoming animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’, it appears the secret of Eleven’s ultimate fate will remain safely locked away between Millie Bobby Brown and the Duffer Brothers.
