Darlington roadworks on Feethams for Christmas Eve
Here’s what you need to be aware of:
Feethams – Christmas Eve Repair Works
Highway repair and maintenance works are planned at the crossing point at the Town Hall on Feethams, Darlington, on December 24.
Crews will use stop/go, boards while they repair setts in the road.
Drivers in the area should expect some disruption on Christmas Eve and are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
Barmpton Lane – Long-term Electric Cable Works
Utility asset works will take place from Whinbush Way to 23a on Barmpton Lane, Darlington, running from November 10 to February 20, 2026.
Northern Powergrid (Northeast) Limited will be using two-way signals as they excavate the footway along approximately 500 metres to install a new underground electric cable, including two road crossings outside 84 and opposite 63.
The works will also involve joining the new cable and making connections.
Temporary traffic signals may mean delays for motorists and pedestrians.
Thompson Street East – Electric Cable Installation
From November 24 to January 30, 2026, two-way signals will be in operation on Thompson Street East, Darlington, between Davison Road and Salters Lane.
Northern Powergrid (Northeast) Limited will be excavating another 500 metres of footway to install a new underground electric cable.
New cable joints and connections will be made along this section as well.
Beaumont Hill and Harrowgate Village – Road Closures for Improvement
Both Beaumont Hill and Harrowgate Village in Darlington will be closed from Dewberry Lane to 25 Beaumont Hill and from Dewberry Lane to the Village Hall, respectively.
These closures run from March 31 to March 27, 2026, for highway improvement works linked to new development in the area.
Drivers are advised to check signage and allow for possible delays.
