The Harsh Reality Of Ex-Prince Andrew’s Future
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s woes have skyrocketed from plaguing controversies to a police arrest and investigation. He was detained on February 19 at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and later released.
Allegations claim Andrew shared sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as the U.K.’s trade envoy between 2001 and 2011.
Now, legal analysts are weighing the repercussions Andrew would face for his actions.

Legal Expert Says Former Prince Andrew Could Face Life Imprisonment

Attorney James J. Sexton detailed the potential consequences of Andrew’s alleged misconduct under U.K. criminal law, and it’s not looking good.
“The U.K. legal system and the U.S. legal system are quite different in terms of burden of proof and even procedure,” Sexton told US Weekly. “But I don’t think anybody today wishes they were Prince Andrew.”
He described the case as “a very difficult one,” stressing that British authorities appear to be treating the allegations with heightened seriousness.
“This is a situation where England and the U.K. are essentially taking the [Jeffrey] Epstein charges, one might argue, a little more seriously than the United States,” Sexton explained.

If convicted, the disgraced royal could face life behind bars. Sexton noted that although Andrew has already been out of favor with the royal family for years, his current position is the “most damning pool of evidence that’s ever been provided against him.”
The attorney continued, pointing out that Andrew’s matter is not one any defense would easily pick up as the prosecution already has the upper hand.

Sources Say Andrew’s Imprisonment Would Be A Relief For The Royal Family

As legal analysts weigh Andrew’s future, sources say palace insiders are secretly hoping he is jailed if it means protecting the monarchy.
While the jail time would rid the brood of the consistent scandals that have followed the 66-year-old, another source said it would also send a powerful message to him.
“If Andrew walks, he’ll feel vindicated and untouchable,” the insider told Rob Shuter’s #Shuterscoop, per The Blast. “That makes him more emboldened, more reckless, and far more dangerous to the institution.”
Additionally, incarceration would give King Charles leverage, as there have been talks of an “institutional cover-up” to protect his younger brother.

“This gives the King cover to finish the slimming-down he’s always wanted,” one source shared. “In crisis, reform suddenly becomes very easy to sell.”

Prince William Has Since Wanted Former Prince Andrew To Be Exiled

While palace insiders are alleged to now quietly want Andrew’s imprisonment, Prince William is said to have advocated for Andrew’s removal from the royal family since 2019.
As The Blast reported, royal commentator Russell Myers revealed that William’s desire to have his uncle “banished” intensified after his explosive BBC “Newsnight” interview in 2019 about Epstein’s victim Virginia Giuffre.
In the interview, hosted by Emily Maitlis, Andrew defended his friendship with the convicted sex offender and failed to acknowledge the suffering of Epstein’s victims.
Myers explained that William was deeply disturbed by his uncle’s lack of accountability and told both his father and the late Queen Elizabeth II that Andrew had to leave the fold.
How The Former Duke Of York’s Arrest Points To A Bigger Picture

Following Andrew’s detention, past Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Dal Babu offered insight into the decision during an interview with Sky News’ Gareth Barlow.
Per The Blast, Babu emphasized that police do not ordinarily need to arrest someone under investigation. Typically, investigators might request a statement or invite the individual to attend a voluntary interview.
Babu explained that the fact that the former senior royal was arrested suggests that authorities may have uncovered more serious evidence.

Andrew And Ex-Wife Sarah Ferguson Are Said To Only Have Each Other Left

Amid Andrew’s alleged legal fate, his family is said to have shunned him, and the only person at his side is his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
According to The Blast, insiders say the estranged couple is “very much in survival mode,” and are supporting each other.
Their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have also distanced themselves from their parents, feeling “horrified, devastated, and in total shock” over the recent developments.
As for whether there would be any redemption for the pair, the source noted their reputation has been damaged beyond repair and “there is no return to royal life” for them.

Why Did Cassie Randolph Get a Restraining Order for Colton Underwood?
Colton Underwood‘s past relationship with Cassie Randolph — and her restraining order against him — resurfaced during his stint on The Traitors, but what actually happened between the exes?
Underwood’s love life became a topic of conversation on The Bachelorette when he joined Becca Kufrin’s season 14 in 2018. He later appeared on season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise before becoming the season 23 Bachelor lead in 2019.
The reality star formed a connection with Randolph that resulted in that iconic fence-jumping scene. Despite ending the show together, the couple didn’t get engaged but remained in a relationship for a year after The Bachelor.
After their split, Us Weekly confirmed in September 2020 that Randolph was granted a restraining order against Underwood. She claimed he was stalking and harassing her. The case was dropped in November 2020, and Underwood came out as gay the following year.
When Did Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Meet?

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph formed a connection on season 23 of The Bachelor, which premiered in January 2019. Randolph later told Underwood she loved him but wasn’t ready to be engaged, so she chose to leave the show. Underwood, meanwhile, was so upset that he jumped over a fence and tried to leave as well.
During the March 2019 finale, Underwood cut ties with the other women and went to Randolph’s hotel room to reconcile.
How Long Did Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Date?

After their time on The Bachelor came to an end, Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph dated for over a year.
“It was a lot of changes, for sure, because we went from these more simple, more normal lives and then all of a sudden, we film a show and then you’re thrown into craziness where everyone is very hyperaware of everything that goes on in your life and your relationship,” Randolph told Us in October 2019 about adjusting to a romance in the public eye. “It was a little bit of a struggle at first, I think — like adjusting to everything. But I feel like now we’ve kind of gotten used to it and learned to balance everything a lot more.”
Underwood pointed out that the show helped them grow their relationship.
“I think you learn to communicate too,” he explained. “Just with whether it’s tabloids or someone speculating a certain thing or people reading into your body language, you know. You just learn how to communicate with each other and you’ll be on the same page with everything going on. … Nobody could ever prepare you for what life is like after that. Like, you can have people tell you all you want, like, ‘Oh, wait for this, wait for this.’ But until you’re in it, you don’t really get the full magnitude of it.”
When Did Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Break Up?

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph revealed via Instagram in May 2020 that they had decided to call it quits.
“Colton and I have broken up, but have decided to remain a part of each others lives. With all that we have gone through, we have a special bond that will always be there,” Randolph wrote at the time. “I love Colton very much and have an enormous amount of respect for him. We have both learned and grown so much these past couple years, and will always have each other’s back. Always.”
Why Did Cassie Randolph Request a Restraining Order Against Colton Underwood?
Following some public back-and-forth in the wake of their split, news broke in September 2020 that Cassie Randolph filed a restraining order against Colton Underwood, claiming he had planted a tracking device in her car, harassed her via text message and showed up uninvited to her apartment and her parents’ house after their breakup.
The order was granted, forcing Underwood to stay at least 100 yards away from Randolph. He was also ordered not to contact her.
Two months later, Underwood revealed that the case had been settled privately, and the restraining order was dropped.
How Did Colton Underwood Address the Scandal?

Colton Underwood broke his silence about his personal life when he came out on Good Morning America in April 2021. He claimed that he was previously very much in love with Cassie Randolph, which caused confusion and led to a tumultuous breakup.
“I’m sorry for any pain and emotional stress I caused,” he said. “I wish that it wouldn’t have happened the way that it did. I wish that I had been courageous enough to fix myself before I broke anybody else.”
Later that year, Underwood addressed the legal drama again on his Netflix docuseries, Coming Out Colton.
“I think that [the restraining order] was sort of a huge wake-up call. I’m sad that it even got to that point to where that had to be my wake-up call, and me affecting other people in my life was sort of the moment that I realized I had to come out,” he told Us in December 2021. “Obviously, I wish I would have had the courage to come out without having to be pushed.”
Randolph was asked to be part of the series, but she declined.
Has Cassie Randolph Said Anything About the Legal Drama?
Cassie Randolph, who has been married to Brighton Reinhardt since 2025, has remained largely tight-lipped about what happened with Colton Underwood. She made a rare comment in March 2022 on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast, saying, “I haven’t talked about it, so it’s really hard for me to talk about it at all, or even know the right thing to say when addressing it. I feel so much pressure when asked about it that I would love to be able to be open and candid about things, but I’m just not there yet. I’m sure I will one day want to speak on it because there’s just a lot there.”
Randolph also claimed that her ex didn’t give her a heads-up that he was planning to come out on national TV. “I found out the same way that everyone else did,” she recalled. “I was actually in Mexico on vacation with friends. … But yeah, I found out, I think, through Snapchat on GMA. It was horrible. It was just, like, a shocking kind of feeling. ”
Later that year, Randolph issued a message to Underwood.
“I’m very happy that he is … at peace with himself and not carrying that burden anymore, of course,” Randolph said on an October 2022 episode of the “Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous” podcast. “It was a very, just, overall hard time for me, so I feel like there was just one thing after another and I was just extremely overwhelmed with everything going on.”
Why Was Colton Underwood’s Past With Cassie Randolph Revisited?

Colton Underwood appeared on season 4 of The Traitors in early 2026, which led to backlash from viewers who knew about his issues with Cassie Randolph.
“I met with production. I met with Peacock. I was like, ‘I’m down to do this.’ Because this show is about strategy. It is about the game. It is about traitors. It is not personal,” he explained to Vanity Fair in February 2026 about trying to keep the narrative off the show. “My only ask is, like, if I do this, I don’t want people to bring up anything outside of the game. I have a family now, right? I’m … so far past what happened six years ago.”
Underwood addressed what happened with Randolph at the reunion after not discussing it during the season.
“I think what I can understand from people viewing me back on television, if you didn’t follow my story and what I went through, and you watched me as the Bachelor in 2019, and then, all of a sudden, you’re tuning in in 2026,” he said. “I had an incredibly difficult couple of years, and I’ve grown, I’ve changed. I’ve put in so much work into myself and to my family. I never really thought the way that I would show up and play Traitors would be linked to one of the darkest and most horrible moments of my life.”
Have Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Spoken Since the Restraining Order Was Dropped?
“I have no contact. If she ever did reach out or want to reach out, I would be open to answering any questions that her or her family would have for me,” Colton Underwood told Vanity Fair in February 2026. “That is something I’ve always offered. I’m in no position to really say much more than that or reach out. There’s been no part of me that would. I would always be up for it. It’s all on her terms.”
Underwood reflected on what led to the messy breakup.
“It was 2020. It was, as people remember, COVID. I was fully convinced that she was gonna be my last straight … like, I was going to have to either kill myself or come out. That’s just transparently, like, where my mindset was,” he elaborated. “I don’t know if this is the right phrase, but it was somewhat of the perfect storm of me hitting rock bottom, of me really trying to navigate, ‘Am I gonna kill myself or am I gonna come out?’ That’s just where I was at.”
Underwood, who is now married to husband Jordan C. Brown, also revealed he was being blackmailed about his sexuality at the time and was “struggling with Xanax and prescription medications.”
“It was a pretty intense moment in my life where I made some really, really poor decisions. The difficult part now is seeing the people who have a lot to say about what happened six years ago,” he noted. “It’s lacking a lot of the context of where our world was at, but also where I was at, the state of mind that I was in.”
Underwood continued: “The pressures and the threats that I was going through. I will always take accountability. I will always own mistakes that I made. But everything that you’re seeing on social media — these videos, these people who have a lot to say — is not correct.”

Jason Bateman Reveals What He Told 14-Year-Old Daughter in Sex Talk
Jason Bateman recently gave his 14-year-old daughter, Maple, a crash course in the birds and the bees.
“I did just talk to Maple about sex, as a matter of fact, about a year ago,” Bateman, 57, said on the Thursday, February 26, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, referring to his youngest child with wife Amanda Anka. “I wanted to make sure she was getting [a full education]. She’s in a more traditional school.”
While Bateman “didn’t want to tell her anything that [he] didn’t need to,” he asked whether she had any questions on the topic of sex.
“I think, maybe, she sensed that this was an uncomfortable area for me, so she played dumb,” the Ozark alum recalled. “She’s, like, ‘I’m not positive on a bunch of stuff. Do you have any?’ She kind of baited me now that I think about it.”
Bateman subsequently “walked [Maple] through the steps.”
“[I] kept waiting for her to cut me off, like, ‘I got this part,’ and she didn’t for the most part,” he said on Thursday’s broadcast. “I did find myself getting to the portion of … when the release happens, which is a necessary component. You don’t want to be saying the word ‘ejaculate’ to your daughter, right? That’s not a great term.”
Instead, Bateman said that, “When the male member is inside of the woman’s member, it’s so lovely there [and] there is so much love. To avoid that term, I [used the phrase], ‘The penis just screams,’ and it’s the equivalent of the penis just yelling, ‘I love you.’”
Bateman further explained that the apparent scream is “yelled into the woman,” which is how two people make a baby.
Bateman became a father in 2006 when he and Anka, 57, welcomed daughter Francesca, 19, in 2006. Maple followed in 2012.
“The 20s were a lot, and then in my early 30s, I stopped drinking [and] married my girlfriend, who’s still my wife, and got Arrested Development,” Bateman told Esquire in December 2025 of becoming a dad. “It was all kind of right in that 12 [or] 24 months. There always was a plan. The three things I always said I wanted to do, when I was a kid … was to be a father, a husband and direct a movie.”
The “SmartLess” podcast cohost decided to quit drinking when he landed his famed Arrested Development role as a way to be a better spouse to Anka.
“I was really getting a lot of that stuff out of my system, knowing that at 30 is probably about the time you got to get your s*** together and start to execute the plan,” he told the outlet. “Somebody told me that your lungs stop reproducing new cells after 30, so I stopped smoking too. Like, now’s the time to do it.”
The next month, Bateman admitted that getting sober also eased “tensions” with Anka.
“Amanda and I definitely had a few negotiations about the point at which the [partying] spigot was going to completely turn off,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in January. “She’d be like, ‘This drip, drip, drip is annoyingly unpredictable, Jason.’”

Tara Lipinski Was ‘Heartbroken’ By Maura Higgins During ‘Traitors’ Finale
In the season finale, Lipinski, who was cast as one of the competition show’s “Faithful” players, was banished from the show just before the season’s final moments.
In a new interview, Lipinski opened up about what was going through her mind when she realized the writing on the wall, and also revealed how she felt when her friend, Maura Higgins, voted against her.

Tara Lipinski Had A Little Hope That Maura Higgins Would Vote In Her Favor During The Season 4 Finale Of ‘The Traitors’

During the final episode, Lipinski was banished from the game in the final moments, leaving Higgins alone with Traitors Rob Rausch and Eric Nam. Before entering the final roundtable discussion, however, Lipinski attempted to convince Higgins to vote with her against the boys.
Things didn’t turn out that way, though, given that Higgins voted with Raush and Nam—a move that Lipinski felt coming but wasn’t certain about. “Again, maybe a little too naive there,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

“I was for sure because we had a long conversation about it and she was like, ‘I am all in. I’m all in. We are gonna get Eric. He’s gonna be so shocked what is gonna happen,’” Lipinski added. “And I went back to Johnny. I was like, ‘We did it! We just we won!’ And so at the Roundtable, I was just blown away the first time. Because I believed it!”

Lipinski Was ‘Heartbroken’ Over Higgins’ Final Vote During ‘The Traitors’ Season 4 Finale

Continuing, Lipinski said that she was “heartbroken” by Higgins’ final vote, considering they formed a close bond in the Scottish castle. Lipinski was also devastated for Higgins because she knew the “Love Island” alum would soon be betrayed by her closest ally.
“… when I saw [Higgins] vote for me, I knew what was coming, obviously,” Lipinski said. And while she’s not holding a grudge against Higgins, Lipinski said that she felt “bad” for how things would ultimately play out.
“I didn’t know how it was gonna unfold exactly or how Rob would tell her, but I knew it was coming. So it was heartbreaking because at that point, I realized she just blindly trusted him and it was gonna be a huge, huge shock,” she said.

How Is Raush Repaying Higgins After Betraying Her On The Latest Season Of Peacock’s Hit Reality Series ‘The Traitors’?

In the finale, Higgins was stunned to learn Raush was playing “The Traitors” as one of the program’s titular characters. “I was so convinced, you’ve embarrassed me,” she told Rausch. “You’re never going to have a girlfriend after this—you’re such a good liar.”
Later, Higgins assured the Alabama native that there were “no hard feelings,” adding, “I’m just in shock. I actually thought I was winning. I really did.”
In her confessional, Higgins was emotional, saying, “I’m a fool. This is why I don’t trust anybody ever, because they stab you in the goddamn back.”
To make it up to Higgins, however, Raush has reportedly promised to buy the reality star a pricey Birkin bag, according to E! News.

One ‘Traitors’ Star Is Not As Forgiving

One “Traitors” co-star not fond of Rausch, however, is his fellow Traitor, “Real Housewives of Potomac” alum Candiace Dillard Bassett. According to a previous report from The Blast, Rausch turned on Bassett and their third Traitor, Lisa Rinna, during earlier episodes, something Bassett described as “dirty gameplay.”
“For Rob specifically, there were other options. I think that’s just what he wanted to do,” she said. “Rob had lied to his Traitors at breakfast. He told us he didn’t mean to vote for Lisa, he was sorry he voted for Lisa, he didn’t think she was gonna go home. And then he goes to the roundtable that same night and not only votes for her but leads the charge.”
Bassett’s Husband Also Calls Out Rausch For Turning On The Women In The Game

According to another report from Entertainment Weekly, Bassett’s husband, too, had an issue with Rausch’s gameplay, calling the snake wrangler out for turning on the women in the game, but seemingly being willing to protect the men.
“The way #RobRausch is going up for Eric and protecting him while his name is being mentioned….but signed off on and led the charge against Lisa and Candiace….HE DONT LIKE WOMEN!!” Bassett’s husband wrote on X.

Prince Harry And Meghan Facing ‘Fiery Rows’ Over Social Media Exposure
Meghan Markle‘s Valentine’s Day photo of daughter Lilibet with Prince Harry has reignited debate over the couple’s stance on privacy.
Critics question whether the post contradicts their 2020 royal exit, while royal experts suggest it may have caused tension between the Sussexes.
The scrutiny comes amid Prince Harry and Meghan’s humanitarian work in Jordan through their Archewell Foundation.

Royal Expert Says Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Likely Had A ‘Fiery Row’ Over Recent Instagram Posts

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has faced criticism online after sharing a new photograph of her daughter, a move some observers see as a shift from her and Harry’s long-stated commitment to privacy.
The image, posted on Valentine’s Day, shows four-year-old Lilibet holding red balloons while being carried by Prince Harry.
Meghan captioned the photo, “These two + Archie = my forever Valentines,” referencing their six-year-old son, Archie, who was not pictured.
At the time it was shared, some netizens responded warmly, while others questioned whether the post aligned with the couple’s previous stance on shielding their children from public exposure.
According to The Mirror, royal commentator Ingrid Seward suggested the decision may have “sparked pretty fiery rows” behind the scenes.

She argued that Harry has long been vocal about protecting his family from intense media scrutiny, shaped in part by his own childhood experiences in the spotlight.

Prince Harry Is Seemingly Known To Be Averse To Social Media
According to Seward, Meghan’s willingness to share personal family moments with millions of social media followers could clash with Harry’s more guarded instincts.
Seward further claimed the post appears inconsistent with the couple’s 2020 departure from royal duties, which they said was partly motivated by a desire for a more private life.
According to her, sharing intimate family images with millions of followers could be seen as contradictory to that aim.
She also suggested that Meghan may be more comfortable with public visibility, given her background in entertainment, while Harry has often described himself as someone uneasy with fame.

The Sussexes Are In A Delicate Position Due To Andrew’s Recent Arrest

Any potential tension over the post, observers note, comes at a sensitive time for the royal family.
Days after the Valentine’s post, Prince Andrew was arrested amid renewed scrutiny tied to disclosures connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
Thames Valley Police confirmed it had launched an investigation following a complaint related to Andrew’s past role as trade envoy. He has denied wrongdoing.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe suggested the unfolding situation could place the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a delicate position.
Harry, he said, may feel sympathy for his father, King Charles, and cousins Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice as the family faces renewed turmoil.
At the same time, Larcombe argued, Meghan would likely prefer to avoid being drawn into controversy surrounding the monarchy.

Bill Cosby‘s rape accuser Donna Motsinger says the TV star can’t be bothered to show up to court for a trial in a lawsuit she filed against him.
According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ. Motsinger says Bill will not testify in court … she claims it’s “because he does not care to appear.”
Motsinger says Bill won’t show his face at the trial either … and the only time the jury will hear from him will be a previously taped deposition.
As we previously reported, Motsinger claims Bill drugged and raped her in 1972. In the case, Bill admitted during a deposition that he obtained a recreational prescription for Quaaludes that he secured from a gynecologist at a poker game.

Bill also said he planned to use the pills to give to women in the hopes of having sex with them.
Motsinger alleged Bill gave her a pill that she thought was aspirin. She claimed she felt off after taking it and said she woke up the next day in her bed with only her underwear on.
Here, it sounds like Motsinger wants to play the deposition for the jury.

Washington Man Charged With Murder After ‘Curb Stomping’ Mom to Death
Police in Washington state claim that a schizophrenic man who had been off his medications ended up murdering his own mother this week by viciously stomping on her neck up to seven times.
Antony Ton Le was arrested for criminal homicide on Tuesday, February 24, after allegedly choking out his mother and “curb stomping” her in the city of Auburn.
Curb stomping typically entails forcefully opening someone’s jaw and placing their mouth over a sidewalk’s edge, almost as if they are biting it. The perpetrator then stomps down on the neck from behind with the full weight of their body.
As he was being interrogated by police, Le, 30, allegedly explained how he “got into an argument about school and finances” with his mother, Thuy Nu Thu Ton, before attacking her,
Le, according to an affidavit shared with Us Weekly, admitted to investigators he “ultimately killed his mother.” He said that he’d been “experiencing rage and anger” toward his mother in recent weeks, having stopped taking his bipolar and schizophrenia medications.
“He grabbed Thuy in a ‘choke hold’ and threw her to the ground,” reads the affidavit. “[Le] began ‘curb stomping’ his mother’s neck. [Le] noted how angry he was and that he likely killed her on the ‘third stomp’ and ‘over-killed her’ and stomped her four or five more times. After the assault, [Le] tried to ‘help’ Thuy by putting pillows and blankets on top of her. [Le] stated that he heard Thuy ‘gurgling’ for about 30 minutes before she died. [Le] then gave her a hug.”
The son told detectives he decided not to call 911 because he knew his roommate, the condo’s owner, would be home soon and that they would contact police — which they did at approximately 2 p.m.
The condo owner told police that Le had recently become “increasingly hostile” and “prone to violence.”
First responders tried treating the 61-year-old at the scene, but she died before they could even load her into an ambulance.
A tactical team was called in to deal with Le and set up a perimeter around the entire area.
In time, the team forced its way into the condo and located Le in his bedroom. Authorities then arrested him and transported him to SeaTac City Hall.
The condo owner told investigators that when he left for work earlier that day, Ton was on the couch in the living room, looking at her phone. Le, the roommate had assumed, was in his room.
When the condo owner returned from work, he told police he looked beneath the pile of blankets in the middle of the living room and found the victim “lying on her back with her eyes open and her arms folded across her chest.”
He said that it appeared that Ton had suffered severe and obvious facial injuries in the attack.
Le is currently being held in the King County Jail on a $2 million bond. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Friday, February 27. Plea and attorney information was not available at press time.

Bill Clinton Speaks Out Against Jeffrey Epstein Before House Testimony
Before sitting down with the House Oversight Committee and testifying about Jeffrey Epstein, former President Bill Clinton is speaking out about his intentions.
“I’m here today for two reasons. The first is that I love my country. And America was built upon the idea that no person is above the law, even Presidents — especially Presidents,” Clinton, 79, wrote in a statement shared via X on Friday, February 27. “Democracy requires every person to play their part, and I hope that by being here today, we can bring ourselves a little further away from the brink and back to being a country where we can disagree with one another civilly — where the search for truth and justice outweighs the partisan urge to score points and create spectacle. I’ll do my part, and I hope you’ll do yours.”
Although Clinton’s deposition is closed to the press, the 42nd president of the United States wanted to share why he agreed to participate in the investigation.
“The girls and women whose lives Jeffrey Epstein destroyed deserve not only justice, but healing. They’ve been waiting too long for both,” he said. “Though my brief acquaintance with Epstein ended years before his crimes came to light, and though I never witnessed during our limited interactions any indication of what was truly going on, I am here to offer what little I know so that it might prevent anything like this from ever happening again.”
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to traffic minors. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Before the 2019 federal case went to trial, Epstein died in a New York City jail at the age of 66. His death was ruled a suicide.
In recent months, Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Justice Department have released Epstein files required by law. While Clinton acknowledged that he may appear in the files, he denied any wrongdoing.
“First, I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing,” he said. “No matter how many photos you show me, I have two things that at the end of the day matter more than your interpretation of those 20-year-old photos: I know what I saw, and more importantly, what I didn’t see. I know what I did, and more importantly, what I didn’t do. I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong.”
Although the public won’t be able to watch Clinton’s testimony, the politician warned the public that the committee may hear him say that “I don’t recall.”
