A woman in her 50s was found dead in her home and a teenager has been detained in connection with the incident.
A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in her home down south.
The teenager was detained after the woman was discovered in the home in Swindon on Friday night, November 21.
The alarm was raised when officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a house on Baydon Close, Moredon.
When police arrived, a woman in her 50s living at the property was found to not be breathing.
She was declared dead at the scene. Cops said her next of kin had been notified, reports Manchester Evening News.
A crime scene has been set up at the property and investigation has been launched to find out what happened.
Det Insp Darren Ambrose said: “This is a serious incident in which a woman has sadly died.
“We have set up a cordon at the address while an investigation is carried out.
“I can confirm that we have arrested a teenage girl in connection with this incident and we are not looking for anyone else. We would encourage people not to speculate on the circumstances around this incident.
“We appreciate the concern that this may cause the local community.
“If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to an officer.”
