The West Wing star Timothy Busfield, 68, handed himself in to authorities on Tuesday as he faces allegations he inappropriately touched a minor on the set of a TV series he was directing. He denies the allegations.

Busfield, aged 68, is accused of inappropriately touching a minor on the set of a television series he was directing. A warrant for his arrest was issued by Albuquerque, New Mexico authorities on Friday, January 9, on two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse, , reports the Express..
The alleged incidents are said to have taken place on the set of the series The Cleaning Lady, filmed in Albuquerque.
As part of their ongoing investigation, police have now released Busfield’s mugshot. A video obtained by US media reportedly shows the father of three insisting at the police station: “I did not do anything to those little boys”.
Best known for his role as senior White House Correspondent Danny Concannon in The West Wing from 1999 to 2006, Busfield is alleged to have groomed the boys on the set of The Cleaning Lady, a show in which he starred and directed. He vehemently denies these allegations.
A copy of the arrest warrant obtained by US news alleges that Busfield touched a seven year old boy three times over his clothes in private areas. The warrant further claims that the Field of Dreams and Thirtysomething star then touched the boy five or six times when he was eight years old.
The young boy reportedly didn’t disclose the alleged abuse for fear that Busfield, whom he supposedly referred to as “Uncle Tim”, would become angry. The Sun US reports that a second boy also alleges that the actor inappropriately touched him over a two-year period while working on the show, which ran until 2025.
The accusations suggest that the abuse took place between November 2022 and spring 2024. The complaint further alleges that Busfield kissed the child on the face whilst he was getting a haircut in the hair and makeup trailer.
The boys’ mother reported the matter to social services in October 2025.
A social worker is said to have recorded the child expressing that he has nightmares about Busfield touching him.
