Police cordon at Esso garage in Seaham after person hit by car
Crime scene investigators have been pictured at the Esso garage on Stockton Road where a blue tent has been erected and tarpaulins put up across the front of the shop.
Emergency services were called at around 4.50pm today (Thursday, January 15) to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
Tonight pictures show the petrol station cordoned off with white-suited crime scene investigators working at the scene.

A large section of Stockton Road has also been sealed off from the Graham Way roundabout to the junction with Station Road.
A smaller cordon is in place outside The Mallard Pub, just a few meters way, where a wall appears to have been knocked down.
Officers are standing guard around the cordon.

Durham Police previously said the road was shut in both directions but has not yet confirmed any further details.

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Servicesaid: “We attended an incident at the service station on Stockton Road in Seaham just after 4.50pm today.
“We dispatched a paramedic ambulance, a doctor in a rapid response car, a clinical team leader, a specialist paramedic and one of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) crews following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car.”
Durham Police has been contacted for updates.
