Tory Chairmans Tweet Compares Reform To Nazis Sparks Row

Tory chairman Kevin Hollinrake has sparked a furious row after he posted a message on X comparing Reform UK to the Nazis.

He was responding to a post on X by Reform leader Nigel Farage on Sunday evening.

It showed what appears to be a gold Reform UK badge. Farage attached the comment “Coming soon” with an eyes emoji.

Hollinrake re-posted Farage’s message with a screenshot of a Wikipedia page showing a Swastika badge awarded to the first 100,000 members of the Nazi Party in Germany.

The post was deleted, but Hollinrake later posted again with a link to the Wikipedia page rather than a screenshot.

Posting on X, Farage said: “This is why they are on course to win 14 seats at the next election.”

Senior Reform adviser Alan Mendoza – who recently defected from the Conservatives – said: “Is Kevin Hollinrake out of his mind? Making a comparison between Reform and Nigel Farage to the Nazis is not only a disgraceful slur but also lazy and weak.”

A Reform source said: “If you vote Reform, the chairman of the Conservative Party thinks you’re a Nazi. The Tory party somehow manages to sink further into the gutter.”

The Conservative Party has been approached for comment.

In April, Hollinrake accused Farage of “Putin apologism” over the Ukraine war.

LBC presenter Lewis Goodall pointed out how Farage once said that Nato enlargement was a mistake.

He asked Hollinrake: “Do you think that is Putin apologism?”

“I absolutely do, he’s let him completely off the hook,” Hollinrake replied.
