Torino president confirms deal to sign Benfica’s Obrador
Torino president Urbano Cairo has confirmed that the club have wrapped up a deal to sign Rafa Obrador from Benfica, with only the formalities remaining.
Speaking after Torino’s defeat to Roma on Sunday evening, via Marco Conterio on X, Cairo revealed that the Spanish full-back was already present with the squad and is now set to complete his move.
“Rafa Obrador from Benfica will arrive,” Cairo said. “He watched the game with us this evening and just needs to sign. We also have other things in the pipeline.”

Torino close in on Obrador deal
Obrador, a left-back by trade, is expected to bolster Torino’s defensive options as the club look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
The deal appears to be fully agreed, with the player’s presence at the match seen as a clear signal that the transfer is imminent.
The move represents another step in Torino’s January plans, with Cairo hinting that further business could follow before the window closes.
An official announcement is expected shortly once Obrador completes the final paperwork and medical checks.
