Another train derailment in Spain kills driver & leaves 40 injured after wall collapses onto track as passengers trapped

ANOTHER train tragedy has rocked Spain, only days after a crash claimed the lives of at least 42 people.
The driver of the train was killed and 40 people are thought to have been injured.

This latest incident took place near Barcelona – between the towns of Gelida and Sant Sadurni d’Anoia.
Initial reports suggest a wall fell onto the track following heavy rain in the area.
Emergency services said in a statement: “A retaining wall has fallen onto the track causing a passenger train accident.
“We received 28 calls and several ambulances were sent along with firefighters and police.”
Later that fateful afternoon, a second train carrying 10 passengers derailed near Girona after rocks fell onto the track.
No injuries were reported, but authorities say recent storms are again likely to blame.
This pair of incidents come only two days after two high-speed trains derailed near the southern Spanish city of Cordoba.
More than 40 people lost their lives in the tragedy, with the death toll expected to rise in the coming days.
