The retailer has announced plans to open a mix of new Co-op stores and outlets reopening after refurbishment, ranging from Sussex to Stirling
The Co-op has revealed plans to launch 18 outlets over the coming months.
The retail push will comprise a blend of brand-new branches and revamped sites, spanning locations from Sussex to Stirling.
Didcot in Oxfordshire will be the supermarket’s first 2026 opening, whilst the refurbished stores to open will be a convenience shop in Eastern Green, Coventry, and a franchise-run premises in Ealing, London.
Kate McCrae, Co-op operations director, said: “We’re focused on creating local stores which are more than just a shop – they are a hub locally that contribute to local life and conveniently meet the needs of communities.
“I’m delighted to see our first new store of 2026 open in Oxfordshire, as we start 2026 with an active store opening programme to increase and enhance Co-op’s presence in high streets and communities across the UK.”
