Dow Falls as Index Ends Month Riding Three-Week Losing Streak
After a hot start to the year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average on Friday ended the month on a three-week losing streak.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell about 178 points, or 0.4%. The S&P 500 was down 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.9%.
The Dow hadn’t closed lower for three consecutive weeks since December 2024, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The index still finished January with a gain, thanks to its rally to start the year.
