Jake Paul Faces Extended Hiatus After Double Jaw Surgery; Eyes MMA Transition and Political Future
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Controversial social media personality and professional boxer Jake Paul is facing an unexpected, extended recovery period following a severe double-broken jaw sustained during his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua in December 2025. The injury has necessitated multiple surgeries, delaying his return to the boxing ring until at least late 2026, and casting a spotlight on his potential pivot towards mixed martial arts (MMA) and even a nascent political career endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

Paul, 29, underwent a second jaw surgery recently after the initial titanium plates and screws began to loosen, a complication that has prolonged his rehabilitation. Doctors have advised a recovery period of four to six months before he can even resume sparring, pushing any potential fight dates to late this year or early next year. This latest setback follows a brutal sixth-round knockout by Anthony Joshua in Miami, where Paul’s jaw was shattered in two places, an event that marked his first professional knockout loss.
Despite the physical toll, Paul remains a prominent figure in combat sports, actively engaging in verbal sparring and promotional efforts. He recently traded heated words with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou at a press conference for the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano MMA event, set for May 16 on Netflix. Paul challenged Ngannou, accusing him of “running like a duck” from a potential fight before Paul’s bout with Joshua, and asserted that he lasted longer against Joshua than Ngannou did. Ngannou, in turn, expressed a newfound desire to fight Paul, stating, “I want to kick your a*** now”.
Paul’s promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), is also making significant moves in the MMA world. MVP and Netflix announced that Francis Ngannou will face Philipe Lins in an MMA bout on the May 16 card. Paul has openly expressed his ambition to transition to MMA, citing his wrestling background and his interest in challenging veteran UFC fighter Nate Diaz, whom he called “the perfect fight for me in MMA”. He has even made public overtures to UFC champion Jon Jones, offering to sign him to MVP if he were released from his UFC contract, promising “to get you paid what you deserve”.
Beyond combat sports, Paul has also ventured into the political arena. On March 11, Paul attended a rally for former President Donald Trump in Hebron, Kentucky, where Trump offered Paul his “complete and total endorsement” should Paul decide to run for political office. Paul, who grew up in Ohio, praised Trump’s leadership, stating that Trump taught him “courage” and to “never back down from a fight”. The two were even seen performing Trump’s signature dance in a TikTok video posted by Paul. This foray into politics comes amidst ongoing public debate about influencers aligning with political figures, sparking a range of reactions from support to criticism within social media communities.
Paul’s professional boxing record currently stands at 12 wins and 2 losses, with 7 knockouts. His recent fights include a unanimous decision win over Mike Tyson in November 2024, and a subsequent unanimous decision victory against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June 2025. His only other loss was a split decision against Tommy Fury in February 2023. After his heavyweight loss to Anthony Joshua, Paul has indicated he will return to the cruiserweight division, stating, “That’s where I’m best at, for sure, and where I want to continue to climb in the rankings”.
Paul’s next confirmed boxing match is scheduled for June 28, 2025, against Julio César Chávez Jr. at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, which will be streamed on DAZN Pay-Per-View. However, his current jaw injury will likely impact this timeline, pushing his actual return to the ring further into the future

MacBook Air with M5 Chip Delivers Top-Tier Performance in Ultra-Portable Package
Apple refreshed its popular MacBook Air lineup in March 2026 with the new M5 chip, faster SSD storage and enhanced wireless capabilities, positioning the slim laptop as one of the strongest options for everyday computing, creative work and portability.
The update, announced earlier this month and available starting March 11, brings the 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch models in line with Apple’s latest silicon advancements. Starting prices are $1,099 for the 13-inch version and $1,299 for the 15-inch, reflecting a $100 increase from prior generations but offset by doubled base storage at 512GB and other refinements.
Reviewers from outlets including Wirecutter, CNET, MacRumors and Tom’s Guide have praised the M5 MacBook Air as an “almost perfect” ultraportable, highlighting its speed, efficiency and all-day battery life. The machine remains fanless, silent and remarkably thin, measuring just 11.3mm for the 13-inch model (2.7 pounds) and 11.5mm for the 15-inch (3.3 pounds).
At the heart of the refresh is Apple’s M5 chip, built on a third-generation 3-nanometer process. It features a 10-core CPU with four performance cores and six efficiency cores, paired with a 10-core GPU (configurable on higher models) and a 16-core Neural Engine optimized for Apple Intelligence features. The chip delivers noticeable gains over the M4 predecessor in sustained tasks, multitasking and AI-accelerated workloads like photo editing, video encoding and code compilation.
Early benchmarks and hands-on tests show the M5 MacBook Air handling 4K video editing in Final Cut Pro smoothly, running multiple demanding apps without throttling, and supporting hardware-accelerated ray tracing for improved graphics in compatible software. Compared to the M4 model, the M5 offers better memory bandwidth, faster SSD read/write speeds—Apple claims up to 2x in some scenarios—and improved energy efficiency.
Battery life remains a standout, with Apple rating up to 18 hours of video playback and 15 hours of wireless web use on the 15-inch model. Real-world testing from reviewers confirms the laptop easily lasts a full workday or longer under mixed use, including browsing, streaming, document work and light creative tasks.
The design carries over from recent generations: a flat, wedge-free aluminum unibody available in Sky Blue, Midnight, Starlight and Silver. The Liquid Retina display—2560 x 1664 on the 13-inch and 2880 x 1864 on the 15-inch—offers sharp visuals, 500 nits brightness and wide color coverage (P3). While it lacks the ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate found on higher-end MacBook Pros, the 60Hz panel feels fluid for most users.
Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4/USB-C ports, a MagSafe 3 charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and support for up to two external displays with the lid open—a capability enhanced in recent models. The 1080p Center Stage webcam performs well for video calls, and the six-speaker system (on the 15-inch) delivers rich, immersive audio.
Apple’s commitment to unified memory starts at 16GB across the lineup (configurable up to 32GB), ensuring smooth performance even with dozens of browser tabs or large files open. The base 512GB SSD uses faster technology than previous generations, reducing load times for apps and files.
Critics note few drawbacks. The notch at the top of the display remains divisive for some, and port selection stays limited compared to Windows competitors. No nano-texture display option exists on the Air, reserved for Pro models. The price bump to $1,099 from the M4’s $999 starting point drew mild criticism, though the added storage and performance justify it for many.
Buy MacBook Air M5
In a market crowded with Windows ultrabooks and emerging Arm-based challengers like Qualcomm Snapdragon devices, the MacBook Air M5 stands out for its ecosystem integration, build quality and longevity. Apple typically supports machines with software updates for years, and the M5’s efficiency positions it well for future macOS releases.
For students, remote workers, content creators and casual users, the MacBook Air continues to excel. The 13-inch model prioritizes maximum portability, while the 15-inch offers a larger canvas for productivity without sacrificing much mobility.
Apple positions the Air as the ideal “do-it-all” laptop for most people, bridging casual use and professional demands without the higher cost or bulk of MacBook Pro variants. With the M5 refresh arriving early in its product cycle—no major redesign expected until 2027—the timing favors buyers seeking the latest tech.
As competition intensifies from lower-priced options like the newly introduced MacBook Neo (starting at $599 with an A-series chip), the MacBook Air M5 targets users who value premium performance, premium build and seamless Apple integration over rock-bottom pricing.
Early adopters and reviewers agree: the MacBook Air with M5 isn’t revolutionary, but it refines an already excellent formula into what many call one of the best laptops available in 2026.

TikTok ‘Play Full Song’ Feature Is Now Available, But You Need to be an Apple Music Subscriber
TikTok is adding a way to stream entire tracks via its latest feature, which it calls “Play Full Song.”
The feature is now available on the platform thanks to Apple Music and its integration with TikTok, but there is a catch to the experience as users need to be a subscriber to enjoy the feature.
TikTok ‘Play Full Song’ Feature Is Now Available
TikTok and Apple announced their latest exclusive partnership on the social networking platform as they introduced a new feature called Play Full Song, which allows users to listen to songs they find on the platform in their entirety.
According to the announcement, the new feature offers a music discovery experience that allows the audience to get to know the song, its artist, and more directly on the TikTok app through Apple Music.
The feature is made available thanks to Apple MusicKit APIs, which TikTok claims to be the foundation of the Play Full Song feature.
Engadget reported that this adds to the previous feature introduced by TikTok called Add to Music App, which allows users to save the songs they hear on TikTok to their connected streaming platform’s library.
You Need to Be an Apple Music Subscriber to Access
The only catch in this experience is that users need to be an Apple Music subscriber to access the Play Full Song feature on the app.
TikTok will play the song using an Apple Music player that is built into the app. Since Apple Music requires a subscription before users can access it, only songs in the user’s library may be streamed without a paid subscription.
Alongside this, TikTok and Apple Music also announced that they are launching the new Listening Party feature on TikTok, where users may listen to music alongside their favorite artists live.
Both features are rolling out worldwide and will start appearing “in the weeks ahead.”
