The firm already owns a number of properties across the trading estate
A regional property investor has acquired the freehold of a 23,500 sq ft warehouse in Dorset that currently houses Tesco-owned wholesale distributor Booker.
DJ Property said the off-market acquisition would add “a prominent and strategically located” property to its holdings across the Granby Trading Estate in Weymouth.
The details of the transaction were not disclosed, but the warehouse was acquired from a private vendor represented by Goldenberg Real Estate.
Booker will continue to occupy the premises under its existing lease.
Mickey Jones, chief executive of DJ Property, said: “This acquisition is an excellent fit for DJ Property. It strengthens our position at the Granby Trading Estate, where we have extensive existing interests, and adds a well-located property with an established tenant to our portfolio.
“The Granby Trading Estate remains one of the most important commercial locations in South Dorset and we continue to see opportunities to invest in quality assets across the estate.”
Extending to more than 30 acres, the Granby Trading Estate is South Dorset’s largest employment site and provides commercial premises for a wide range of local, national and international businesses.
DJ Property owns and manages a significant number of properties across the estate and has invested in its commercial development over decades.
The Booker property occupies a gateway position facing Chickerell Road at one end of the principal route through the estate. At the opposite end are Waverley House and Fleet House, which DJ Property snapped up in 2025 and extend to approximately 5.32 acres.
The latest acquisition forms part of DJ Property’s long-term growth strategy, the company said, building on more than 60 years of property investment and development across South Dorset.
DJ Property now has more than 500,000 sq ft under ownership and management and says it is looking to “pursue” new acquisition and development opportunities as it enters its next phase of growth.
“Our approach has always been to invest for the long term,” added Mr Jones. “After more than 60 years in property, we remain ambitious about the future and are actively pursuing further acquisition and development opportunities as we continue to grow the business.”
