Stock Futures Rise as Oil Prices Drop on Iran Hormuz Hope

Stocks were on track to open in the green Tuesday as oil prices dropped on a report that Iran is willing to reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping route in seven days.

S&P 500 futures rose 0.1%. Nasdaq 100 futures were were up 0.2. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed 106 points, or 0.2%.

The Nasdaq surged to its first record high since June on Monday as oil prices retreated, with investors betting that the United Nations General Assembly this week could lay a path for resolving the Iran war.
