(VIDEO) 9 Injured in Early Morning Shooting at Riverfront Live Music Venue in Cincinnati’s East End
Nine people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in a mass shooting early Sunday at Riverfront Live, a popular music and event venue along the Ohio River in Cincinnati’s East End, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. at 4343 Kellogg Ave., where the venue was hosting a private birthday party event that began at 10 p.m. Saturday, according to police and venue-related social media posts. Cincinnati Police Department Interim Chief Adam Hennie confirmed the details in early morning briefings, stating that multiple shots were fired inside the establishment.
All nine victims were transported to area hospitals, primarily the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital, with injuries described as non-critical and non-life-threatening. Police expressed optimism that all would recover, with no fatalities reported as of mid-morning Sunday.
Hennie noted that detailed officers were already working security at the event, allowing for a rapid response with multiple units arriving quickly after the 911 call came in around 1 a.m. The venue and surrounding area in the 4300 block of Kellogg Avenue were cordoned off for investigation by approximately 3 a.m., with Kellogg Avenue temporarily shut down before reopening later in the morning.
No suspect information has been released, and authorities have not disclosed what may have prompted the shooting. There is no description of any suspect or suspects at this time, police said. Investigators are reviewing evidence from the scene, including potential surveillance footage from the venue, witness statements, and any physical evidence collected.
Riverfront Live, a 16-and-over music venue known for hosting concerts, DJ events, and private parties, sits on the border of the East End and Linwood neighborhoods. The venue features indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking the river and has been a staple in Cincinnati’s nightlife and live music scene. Hennie indicated there had not been recent trouble at the location prior to the incident.
Witness accounts emerging on social media described chaos as shots rang out near closing time for the event. Attendees reported hearing multiple gunshots and fleeing the premises, with some posting about seeing injured individuals being tended to before emergency services arrived. Cincinnati Fire Department personnel assisted in triaging and transporting victims, classifying the injuries as non-critical in initial assessments.
The shooting marks another violent episode at a public gathering space in an urban setting, renewing discussions about security at music venues and events. While detailed officers were present, the incident unfolded rapidly, highlighting challenges in preventing such acts even with law enforcement on site.
City officials and police have urged anyone with information, video footage, or who may have witnessed the event to contact the Cincinnati Police Department. The investigation remains active, with homicide and violent crimes units involved alongside scene processing teams.
Community response has been swift, with local residents and venue patrons expressing shock and concern online. “This is heartbreaking—Riverfront Live is usually a fun, safe spot,” one social media user posted in a local group. Others called for increased measures at similar events, including enhanced screening and coordination with law enforcement.
As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests had been announced, and police continued to piece together the sequence of events. The venue’s website and social channels remained active but had not issued a public statement on the incident by midday.
This event adds to ongoing national conversations about gun violence at entertainment venues, where large crowds and late-night hours can complicate security efforts. Cincinnati has seen fluctuations in violent crime in recent years, with city leaders emphasizing community policing and prevention programs.
For the victims, families awaited updates from hospitals, while first responders and investigators worked through the morning to gather evidence. Police emphasized that the scene was secure and there was no ongoing threat to the public.
As details emerge, authorities promised further updates. The swift medical response and non-life-threatening nature of the injuries provided some relief amid the tragedy, but the community grappled with the disruption to what was meant to be a celebratory night.
Riverfront Live has hosted diverse acts and events over the years, drawing crowds from across the region. Sunday’s shooting is expected to prompt reviews of security protocols not only at this venue but across similar spaces in Cincinnati and beyond.

Trump’s War on Iran Threatens to Drive Up Oil Prices and Inflation
U.S. and Israeli strikes against the Iranian regime and military threaten to upend the global oil market and send shock waves through the world economy.
The government of Qatar, one of the world’s biggest exporters of liquefied natural gas, urged shipowners to suspend maritime activities. Dozens of tankers diverted from the Persian Gulf in the early hours of the conflict. The U.S. Navy advised tanker companies to avoid nearby waters because it couldn’t guarantee their safety, according to an alert from an industry body.
