‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Fans Celebrate Amy Slaton’s New Eyes

The TV personality recently underwent surgery to correct her lazy eye, and many are celebrating its success. This surgery not only helps her vision but also restores confidence in her looks, boosting her self-esteem. 

Amy Slaton has been heavy on prioritizing her mental health over her physical health after her divorce from her first husband amid several challenges. After finding love again, she seemed to restore a level of stability to her life as she tries to raise her sons and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

A social media post revealed that Slaton has gotten her eyes fixed after a successful surgery to correct her lazy eye. The picture showed before and after pictures capturing the glaring difference in her eyes with Leon Thomas’ “MUTT” playing in the background.

“Amy from 1000lb sisters got corrective eye surgery and showed the results in a new video! I think she looks great! [Pink heart emoji],” the caption read. The words “Eyes Fixed” were written across the pictures.

The Instagram post shared by tufftopic since February 8 has gathered attention from fans, with many celebrating the successful surgery. 

Many fans wrote “congratulations” to the TV personality in the comments, adding how happy they were that she finally decided to push through with the surgery.

“Wow, she looks so much better, congratulations to you,” one commenter wrote, “OMG, she should have had that done a long time ago, she looks beautiful,” another added. “Oh, yay!!! She did it! NICE!” a different user noted. 

News on social media just can’t thrive without an ounce of negativity. Out of the over four hundred comments, some users called her out on her attitude, with one writing, “Nice! Now go fix mind and soul,” while another wrote, “Now can we fix her attitude?”

Other fans expressed that while they agree that she is not perfect, they were happy she got the surgery done, as they “hate hearing someone say they don’t feel beautiful.” Some commenters shared their personal experience, disclosing that they had lazy eyes too and also underwent surgery as a child.

Several members of the online community had their doubts about the news writing, stating that it was fake and that the posted pictures looked heavily edited.

While some simply inquired about details of the surgery and if it corrected her vision, more users were in disbelief that surgery like this could be possible.

An exclusive clip from an upcoming episode of “1000Lb Sisters,” obtained by TMZ, shows Slaton explaining that the surgery was to correct her lazy eye. 

She explained her vision problems in a 2015 YouTube video. She disclosed that she had ocular toxoplasmosis, which is an infection in the eye caused by a parasite.

It is a very rare eye condition she’s had since birth that caused her to become legally blind. During the procedure, she was placed under anesthesia, and the doctors had to operate on both of her eyes.

Her husband, Brian Lovvorn, told the film crew while he waited outside that one of his fears was that his wife might not wake up from the sedative. Thankfully,  the surgery was successful, and Slaton is confidently rocking her new eyes.

Back in 2023, after the TV star went under the knife for weight loss surgery, she disclosed that her mental health was top of her priority list over physical size. “You can’t have weight loss without mental health,” she said in a previous interview.

The Blast shared that the mom of two got candid about her previous marriage, revealing that she did not experience love or kindness; instead, it was filled with mental abuse. Slaton shared that, against her previous stance, she started going to therapy, admitting that it made her happier. 

In the same interview, the mom of two revealed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, depression, and acute stress disorder, which is like PTSD stemming from the troubles with her ex-husband, Michael Halterman.

Her healing journey entailed her using her medication, sticking to what makes her happy, spending time with her family, and going to therapy regularly. 

Two years after her divorce from Halterman, Slaton opened her heart once more, finding love with Brian. She was on top of the world when he finally popped the question, revealing that she was very excited to call him her husband. 

Slaton shared that not only did Brian win her heart, but he also built a beautiful connection with her kids, Gage and Glenn. The Blast detailed that she praised him for his patience, understanding, and kind nature, stating that he was a perfect fit for their family.

The mom of two noted that they had common interests, highlighting their shared love for horror and Halloween-themed places, among others. Slaton believes the love she shares with Brian is everlasting despite the short duration of the dating and talking stage.
