3 Best Movies To Watch on Netflix This Week
Although the 2025 horror sequel M3GAN 2.0 bounced back from a disappointing box office run to take the top spot on the Netflix charts, it wasn’t long before Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reclaimed their title as the most-watched movie on the streamer in the U.S. Despite debuting over two weeks ago, the twisting crime thriller The Rip is still the most popular movie on streaming, but most Netflix subscribers will have already watched the latest Affleck/Damon project. So, in this first full week of February, what should you look to next? To help you decide, here’s a list of three movies you should watch this week on Netflix.

‘Over the Hedge’ (2006)
Rotten Tomatoes: 75% | IMDb: 6.7/10
January 2026 ended with the devastating news that the world had lost a true Hollywood great. At just 71 years old, Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek star Catherine O’Hara passed away and left a huge hole in the hearts of millions of cinephiles. This week, why not celebrate her legacy with one of her best voice performances in the hugely underrated animated comedy Over the Hedge?
Following a group of forest creatures as they venture over the hedge and into a suburban world in search of food, Over the Hedge features O’Hara alongside a stacked voice cast, which includes the likes of Bruce Willis, Steve Carell, Wanda Sykes, William Shatner, and more. A hilarious adventure perfect for the whole family, let Over the Hedge be a young movie fan’s introduction to O’Hara.

‘Secret Mall Apartment’ (2024)
Rotten Tomatoes: 98% | IMDb: 7.0/10
For something completely different this weekend, the crime documentary Secret Mall Apartment is your perfect port of call. Telling the true story of Michael Townsend and his group of eight Rhode Island artist friends, Secret Mall Apartment follows their plan to turn a disused space in a shopping mall into an apartment, and their time living there for four years.
A fascinating story that is a refreshing replacement for the bloody and brutal true crime that so often proves popular, Secret Mall Apartment will have you gripped from its very first moments. “There is a simplistic charm to the movie that captures the strange in-between times of the early 2000s,” wrote Collider’s Luna Guthrie in her review of the movie, with that very charm alone worth indulging in this week.

‘Eleanor the Great’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes: 66% | IMDb: 6.6/10
Don’t miss out on MCU icon Scarlett Johansson‘s directorial debut this week on Netflix. Starring the brilliant June Squibb, Eleanor the Great follows the troublesome Eleanor Morgenstein, who, whilst grieving the death of her best friend Bessie (Rita Zohar), tells a dangerous tale that begins to take on a life of its own.
Powerful, poignant, and ultimately heartwarming, Eleanor the Great is the perfect escape in these cold months. Sure, the film is an encouraging nod to the potential of Johansson as a director, but it is Squibb that truly steals the show, with her role as Eleanor Morgenstein arguably one of the best of her career. Balancing humor and grief with poise, don’t miss out on Eleanor the Great this week.
